I booked the room because of the great reviews. The owner is warm, generous, very kind, and genuine. The location is convenient and not from in the center. I borrowed the bike and it was a 3 minute ride to the city center and a 3 minute ride to the harbor, if you walk to the harbor it is only 1o minutes. The homestay has a high quality wood furniture in the lobby and the rooms are very comfortable. The bed was cozy, high quality blankets and tissue paper! Upon arrival, the daughter in-law, Winnie, provided me with a plate of mangos as a welcoming snack. The next morning, not only was the breakfast super delicious, she had even packed an apple, a guava, and a sweet potatoe to take away as I was going to turtle island for a hiking trip. Initially the plan was that I walk to the harbor, which is only around 10- 15 minutes, but the owner came back and Auntie Luo drove me there! What an excellent experience. I feel that the owner is very generous because they do this not to make a living, rather to make friends. Love this place and will come back next month.

A true mingsu: the best hospitality”
Choosing to stay at the Qi Hua Zhen Ju Homestay was perhaps the best decision we've made on accommodation in our 9 days in Taiwan. We took a bet on the few but incredible reviews and were rewarded beyond our expectations. Despite having reached the city via a late train, we were welcomed and greeted warmly. Newly renovated, the entire house smelled of the rich teak emanating from the quality furniture and there are many snacks and drinks that are free for consumption. We came to Toucheng to go to Guishan Island (Guishandao/Turtle Island), but was totally unprepared as we had not made any bookings for boat transport to the island. Despite it being 10pm at night, our hosts managed to work the miracle to book us on a insured 3-in-one trip (routing, walking on, and whale-watching) and at a rate even lower than the one printed on the brochure! Spot-on recommendations of what to do in the city! You can catch sunrise on the sundeck on the top floor or you can walk to the beach in the wee hours of the morning. We chose to sleep in so we only caught it on the sundeck, but the sunrise was incredible nonetheless. We were also told that it was possible to see the sunrise from some of the rooms, without leaving the comfort of your bed! One thing is for certain, when I come back to Yilan one day, this would be my first port of call. I simply cannot say enough of the hospitality we got from the owners of the Qi Hua Zhen Ju Homestay. We felt safe, warm and welcome. We were well looked after, particularly because it was less hectic on a weekday, and even this is a severe understatement. You have to experience it for yourself. Oh, did I mention? They have a lift in their home, so don't worry about accessibility or stairs!

An Awesome Experience”
An unexpected pleasant trip! Best choice made to stay at Qi Hua Zhen Ju Homestay! Met very friendly and welcoming owners. Willingness to share information on places of interest to visit and what are some of the food to have. Her breakfast in so yummylicious with a generous potion and wonderful spread!!! So looking forward to her breakfast every morning as she cooks it herself, what an extra touch of excellent service!!! Viewing sunrise at the top floor is must do! Being able to see the beach and Guishan Island from the top deck. At night, it can be a place to sit around enjoying the wind and having talks. The beach is at a walkable distance away :) Definitely will come back one day! It is a great place for the young and old :) Being able to make friends with other homestay guests was another plus point. Very grateful and thankful for this wonderful experience. A prefect holiday!!

Best option in Toucheng!”
This place is so well located for those who cannot rent a car or a scooter. It's at a walking distance from Toucheng train station, so you can easily reach Jiaoxi and Waiao beach. The place is super nice, the hosts are extremely welcoming and nice, they can perfectly communicate in English. The room was nice and clean, and the best part for me, it didn't smell like cigarette. I'll definitely go back when I visit Yilan.

Great stay in toucheng at qi hua zhen ju”
Great stay. The owner lady boss Aunty Luo and her Son and Daughter in law were great and friendly hosts who took good care of the guests. We had great conversations too as Aunty Luo shared some of her experiences. Only slight disadvantage is that the location is slightly out of the way if you don't drive, but I think they can give a lift from the train station, which is about 15. Toucheng is a nice place to be based in in Yilan.

A real homestay with real people.”
This hotel give my wife and I the best memory of our 9 days stay in Taiwan. This hotel sums up what is a real homestay and the true meaning of what is kindness, unselfishness, generosity, warm and unpretentious people, and I’m talking about the whole family here, Peter (the owner), Mrs羅 (the wife)and Winnie(daughter in law). To say that this homestay is very good, it may seems unreal or exaggerated. To say it is very comfortable seems uninteresting and an understatement. I'm not going to rave about how nice or good the place is, nor am I going to rave about the hospitality we received. We stayed one night only (30/12/15), and it was more than enough to receive all the goodness from them. Just stay there to experience it yourself, you won't find it elsewhere.

Excellent hospitality from owner”
After reading so many positive reviews, I decided to book this minsu and it proof that my decision is right. I highly recommend this minsu if you are planning to go to Yilan for whale watching. Excellent hospitality from 羅太太 the owner, her son and her daughter in law. She will help you to book the whale watching package at a lower rate. We were given the whole house as we were in a group of 11, we had the best time in our 8 days tours in Taiwan and we will be back !

Excellent service, Very Nice Landlord”
Really good, the room is so nice, it's a comfortable place. The landlord is super nice, she introduced some tourist attractions to us and drove us to there. And she drove us to shuttle bus stop when we left the homestay. The breakfast is also good, the landlord is so diligent to prepare it. It is so worth to live. Really awesome place.

Great hospitality to remember”
We had a wonderful one night stay here. It was raining and cold but we feel warmth in the homestay. Winnie is helpful and very nice. She is ever ready to settle anything for us. She goes beyond and above - brewing coffee late at night for us, sending us off like a family etc etc. She even find time to chat with us.

I recommend this place. Home made breakfast is very yummy. They book whale watching tour discounted price. Even though location is a little bit separated, they picked me up where i plan to visit. They helped us plan our itinerary and book all the places for us. They took us out to the hot springs after they returned from work at night. Then there is fruits at night and the most excellent breakfast every morning. the room was very nice and the area is very nice and quiet. The rooms are really nice and clean. The bathroom is huge.

This is my 4th year pick here. My only target is surfing in 烏石港. Although not close to beach, could ride their bicycle to there within 10 mins. The hostess is very nice, kind, talkative and share. Room is tidy and clean. Their prepared breakfast is full of taiwan styles that can taste a taiwanese home-cooking style. Enjoy surfing week every year in here. 10 stars **********

Tranquil and near to places of interest”
Not an easy place to go if you do not have GPS to guide you from the train station. But the service offered by the owner and staff are enough to make you feel at ease. They will go fetch you from the train station based on the time you would likely arrive. They will also give you a welcome drive-around the nearby places to tell you where are the bus stops, eating places, and places of interest. Especially recommended for visitors who drive.

So friendly...”
We knew that people in Taiwan were friendly... but this is more than that ! Mrs. Lu and family made us feel at home during our short stay there. We arrived late on the first day, and they took us in their own car to a nearby eatery, they helped us to order and they came back 45 minutes to pick us up !!! The next day they again drove us downtown to our car rental... They also decided to make a western breakfast for us, as they were not sure that we would like the more traditional breakfast that they cooked (which was great). Very friendly place, and great accommodation.
