Best hotels & accommodations in Qianmen & Temple of Heaven

As the first stop on our month-long trip in China, we chose this comfortable hotel, a little higher in the luxury scale that we usually go for. We needed to acclimatize ourselves. It's not very near the tourist sights: about a half-hour walk from the wonderful Temple of Heaven. But it was only a ten-minute walk to the subway, past some nice little restaurants, and tax...

Really great value for money. Friendly young staff team. Pretty courtyard hotel in old Beijing alleyway for a taste of everyday city life. Beds nice and hard. We had a wet room with shower, loo and basin. Really enjoyed our stay. Within walking distance of shops, Qianmen, Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven etc. They organise tours to Great Wall too. N...

this hotel was good, we ended up in a smoking room, and we don't smoke, so you can imagine the smell. But other than that, hotel was clean, staff was helpful and friendly, location is within walking distance from temple of heaven and shopping malls. recommended for a short stay.

The reasons for having favourable remarks for this hotel are 1) hotel is only 3 years' old. All facilities are new and clean. 2) staff speaks English and they are polite and professional. Even the bell boys are nice. 3) their bathroom has both the bathtub and standing shower, very important for my mum who is unable to use the Bathtub 4) water heater provides exce...

1. located in a small hutong near qianmen. location is really good. 15 mins walk to qianmen mrt station. 3 mins walk to qianmen shopping belt. many small restaurants and convenient stalls around the hutong just steps away.another side of hutong is busier meishi street with direct bus to temple of heaven(15 mins ride). 2.siheyuan style, if you look for this kind of e...

The hostel was reasonable for its price. It was quite far from the metro around 10 mins walk. You need to find the blue building, which is the building of thr hostel. The sign was in chinese so I think this would be the best way to find it. The temple of heaven is very near. If you come out from the metro you will see the temple of heaven. There are also some eaterie...

we spend 10 days at the Emperor in march 2018, first day we were given a room that was 3.5 star standard but by requesting we got upgraded to a better room that we had paid for . The hotel has just appointed a new general manager Robert from (US)and he is putting extra hours towards improving the basics that need urgent improvement . the reception staff are very hel...

I was very disapointed with this hotel i arrived a 1 am and they kept me waiting while they tried to find my booking. Laughing while they did so. The room i recived may have been their version of a deluxe double A. But to me it was a standard room with two ikea chairs at one end. I have stayed in far better hotels in beijing for less money and am a little disapointe...

Not being the most modern hotel in China, it doesn't prevent it from being greatly satisfactory. Location is centric. Close to hutongs full of street food and next to the Temple of Heaven. Even Tiananmen Square is not too far if you don't mind walking a bit. The staff at the hotel was really helpful when we booked tickets for the city attractions (thanks Jack, Laurel...

Male sure you print the chinese character of the hotel name and street to give to taxi driver, and also the hotel phone number is +8610 67107000/ 7060.The hotel is next to traditional market, you can buy fruits and mineral water. There are restaurants nearby, turn right when you go out from the hotel. Also the bus station is near, you can take bus 60 to go to Temple of...

The localisation of the hostel is perfect : located in a Hutong in a street with others hostels, small local restaurants very affordable and night shop. It’s just near Qianmen Street with many places to eat and buy present and you can easily took the Subway in Qianmen or Zhushikou. It’s 15 mins walk from the entrance of the forbidden city. The hostel also organise tou...

be careful which hotel you book. there is a holiday inn express beijing temple of heaven and a holiday inn temple of heaven beijing. they both have the same room rate. the holiday inn express is a little out of the way, about a 20 minute walk to the temple of heaven. we felt safe walking in the area at night, and there is a great restaraunt, peking duck, just aroun...

We booked 3 rooms; comfortable beds, toilet necessities provided (better to bring own). Clean linen everyday only if you put the tag. Only one room with clogged toilet bowl but plumber came to fix it right after we notify the receptionist. Drinking water can be bought at the mart nearby - cheaper. Communicate with staff in Chinese is better. Located near Qiaowan Exit A...

Walkable to Temple of Heaven 天坛公园(南门)Tian Tan Park (South Gate). Got direct public transportation bus to various places of attractions in Beijing, such as Wang Fu Jing 王府井, Yongdingmen Coach Station 永定门长途汽车站 etc. When in China, highly recommend to use Baidu Maps 百度地图 App.

After a long check in process we got our rooms. Both were a nice comfortable size room with nice bothroom. Hotel provides good amenities. It was my birthday during my stay at the Courtyard Marriott and they delivered a surprise cake for me. A nice touch from the hotel. The location was excellent. Close to the metro station and Tiananmen square and Temple of Heaven is o...

This is a nice experience for me in Beijing! The receiptionist is friendly and offers kindly help when I wanna change my room type (dorm—>double bed room). The facilities are enough, including air con, hair dryer, etc. The location is fair, just 3mins walk to subway and restaurants, 15mins walk to Tienanman. And bonus point is you can see the sunrise from the window o...

I love this place - this was my 5th stay in 2 years. I stay for 3 or 4 nights every time. Location is fabulous - hopping part of town just south of Tienanmen Square - lots of restaurants stores shops - metro station 200 yards away - taxis easy to get. private room with private shower/bath is inexpensive - i have never tried the shared rooms but they are very very chea...

Overall good stay and the location is great. The hotel should enforce strict no smoking rule (at least for few floors designated as no smoking) as there's overwhelming smoke smell through the bathroom vent. Staff did kindly arrange for another room but guessing that the vent are interconnected, it helps only a little.

Facilities here are okay. Bed comfort, cleanliness, are meeting the minimum standard. At least you won't feel bad for the facilities here. Location is good, as it's quite close to qinmen street. Though not so close to main attractions like forbidden palace or the temple of heaven, or the great wall (better not to say about the last one hahahaha) Staffs have a lot of r...

We stayed for 5 nights in a Suite Room in this strategically located hotel just beside the Hongqiao Pearl Market. It is near the Tiantan Dongmen Subway Station (just outside the hotel), Temple Of Heaven and a 20 mins walk to the Red Theatre Kung Fu Show. Plenty of food options around, KFC, McDonalds, Yoshinoya, SUBWAY, Dairy Queen, Starbucks and various restaurants. ...

Dong Fang Hotel has a very good location, within walking distance to Tian An Men square, Temple of Heaven and a number of key tourist places in down town Beijing. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. Room needs to be updated, especially the bathroom and shower areas. Hotel needs to add none smoking rooms at the "old house" section.

On arrival waited for atleast 1 hour to check-in (translated and asking us whether agoda team informed you or not? Not sure what is the communication b/n agoda and hotel). Room was smelling, bathroom was terrible. Only location wise its good. Near to metro station. You can book only if there is a scarcity of room(like china national holidays). Others rooms were fine wh...

Hotel was easy enough to find, within walking distance from a subway station. Room is simple but works for one night to conveniently visit the Temple of Heaven. Had problems with the internet cable in the room initially, but hotel staff came to jiggle the connection till it worked. Bakery just across the road, restaurant just next door.

Location is the best thing about this place. Just go wandering around the hutongs. Beds are hard and too short (I am 184 cm tall). Don't rent their bikes, as these are overpriced (50 RMB/day) and not in the best condition. For bike rent go to Nr. 76 West Dazhalan Street and get one for 20 RMB. Staff friendly, but sometimes slow. Housekeeping knocked at our door at mi...

More about Qianmen & Temple of Heaven
Traditionally the Temple of Heaven was built for the Emperor to perform annual rites. Every winter solstice, he would come here and perform lavish ceremonies in the Taoist shrine to improve the empire’s prospects in the coming year. The park that holds the temple is one of Beijing’s biggest and greenest, and it fills with locals performing tai chi or reflecting in the gardens. Seen from above, the park is square on the southern edge, a symbol of earth, and round on the northern edge, a symbol of heaven.
Immediately east of Temple of Heaven Park is Hongqiao Market. This is a well-known place to buy pearls, amber and jewelry and it attracts wholesale buyers from around the world. For the everyday visitors, there are souvenirs and fashion accessories on the bottom two floors.
Hotels in Temple of Heaven and Hongqiao Market offer excellent value for money. There are several budget and mid-range options here, and many tourists make this their base while visiting Beijing. The Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau is also in the area, so a few local four-star hotels host visiting government officials on a regular basis.
