Disappointed no breakfast included in the price”
Location, location, location
Did not realise until the booking was confirmed that the price was for the room only, it did not say that on the Agoda booking site. When going in for breakfast I was informed the price would be over £11 each and as we had been told by the hotel a few days before that breakfast was £5 this came as a shock. The receptionist was not particularly helpful or interested because we had booked via a third party, but did say that if we had booked breakfast at the time of booking, it would only have cost £5. It has put me off booking via a third party site, as it ended up costing more. Luckily we found a nearby cafe and had a cracking full English breakfast for only £3.95 each, bargain!

Location, View and free parking
Stay was fine, short walk to both the Barbican and city centre. The hotel is in a terrible state, clean but extremely dated. Breakfast was awful and barely warm.

Needs some TLC”
Location, Car Park, Sea View
The price was reasonable at £70 for the night room only. To be honest the building isn't very pretty but the sea view was great. Our main disappointment was all the negative messages on forest arrival, so much energy has been given to telling customer what they cannot do, rather than thinking about making you feel welcome. I guess they have a problem with the Car Park, as you are constantly reminded to register your car or face £150 release fee! In the bedroom there is two laminated message on the bed by 'Debbie from Housekeeping' telling you about how much you will be charged if you either smoke (£150!) or break the window restrictor (£50), sad to see they treat all there guests with the same distrust! Managing to the minority of your guests rather than the majority is such a shame, as the message tells you 'we don't trust you to misbehave!' It really fills you with joy as a new guest when you are being told like a naughty school kid what you must not do! We didn't eat here after the negative messages as we didn't feel welcome. The rooms furniture is dated, but the room was a good size. On the plus point for 'Debbie' and her housekeeping team the room was very clean! Not sure I would return!

wonderful views....close to city shops and restaurants.....good breakfast
only stayed 1 night and everything was good...the views from our room and from the public areas was brilliant....the only thing that let us down was the weather.

The shower
For a large group hotel this was very disappointing. The public areas were dull and sparsely furnished. The whole place needs a new lick of paint and the carpets need to be re-livened. The bedrooms were an adequate size but dull, lighting needs to be improved. Bathroom was very small although the shower was good, powerful and easy to temperature control. The hotel does not serve lunch and the bar has restricted service on certain days.
