Radisson Blu Park Hotel Athens
Gawdawful experience! Pool was closed until May but not detailed while booking Renovations to 2nd floor were also ongoing but not highlighted yet hotel chose to situate me in a room directly below the works! Noise from industrial drilling on second floor was so bad i had to move room Restaurant was overcrowded on 3 occasions due to external functions!
Nothing to express”
No really good
Nice place away from the main centre”
It's further away from the main attractions but has a nice rooftop bar/restaurant with a view of the acropolis. Very near the National Archaeological museum
Overpriced,uncomfortable staff experience ”
I had the most uncomfortable staff experience during breakfast, when the restaurant manager reacted in a very unhospitable manner when I had asked for a paper bag to pack some bread for my daughter, we returned the bag back and didn't like the way he reacted. Otherwise staff at the front desk were very helpful. Swimming pool was closed and opens only during summer, so take that into account when booking. Sleep experience was not good, you will not get a double bed but 2 single beds attached with rollers below the beds. Food in the St’ Astra was nice. Overall its not the money spent.
Lobby is superb, but the rooms are horrific!”
When checking in we got very excited to see such a chic and cool lobby. We were hoping to have the same excitement when opening the door to our room. Unfortunately, it was horrid. The Radisson must have just bought the old hotel and has yet renovated the rooms. The Queen size bed I was supposed to receive was 2 twin beds put together together and made as a Queen as if we would not notice if the sheets were put over both. The shower had so much build up on the head the water was shooting in more ways then on our heads. The hotel restaurant was nice at night, but every single thing we ordered on the menu was brought with an error.. for example, we ordered sparkling water, were brought still. We wanted a draft beer, were brought vodka on the rocks, wanted a salmon entree and were given a ´broken´salad. To say the least, listening skills were at a minimum. I would not go back and I would def. tell my friends and family to STAY AWAY!
Not worth the rating and relying on brand”
Booked on the basis of having stayed at other Radisson brands elsewhere. Also key was availability of pool. Our experience: Arrived 21.00 - welcome good but were not informed about position of hotel in Athens so set off walking to find an al fresco restaurant to no avail. We later witnessed other new arrivals being given good local info on arrival. Lack of consistency of greeting - very much depended on who was on duty. Did though then eat in the hotel on the top floor restaurant. Good meal and attentive pleasant staff. Room did not meet requirements stipulated at the time of booking. in fact a small room was further cramped by a 3rd bed which was not required and clearly had simply not been removed from a previous booking. We'd also asked for a "nice view" but got a view (1st floor) of the back end of tenements. We asked to change and were accommodated, but only on the next day. Why could staff not have paid attention to our polite requests in advance? It is not as though we were 1-night guests. We pre-booked (by a few months) for 3 nights. Breakfast was abysmal. Poor choice, supposedly hot items were cold, pastries were stale, had to go and find staff to get coffee, the breakfast room had not been swept in days and you took pot luck with staff as to whether they were pleasant of surly. The breakfast supervisor did not seem to do anything constructive - certainly did not engage with guests or ensure efficiency of service. 1st breakfast the room was full and we had to eat at a dirty table. The pool area is great - what views! But it metamorphoses in the evening to being the (atmospheric) restaurant. It is certainly that. the issue is that after evening service, the area is clearly not cleaned between dinner and the pool use. We had dropped food under our sunbed that was there for all 3 days. The area was clearly never mopped either prior to dinner of after. Radisson - the detail here undermines your brand. Disappointing.
small rooms..shabby interiors...breakfast was bad”
Not pleasant..not worth 4 star and is expensive
elevator floor has a hole!”
price too high, bathroom not clean, elevator has a hole in the floor. service so so. not recommending it.
It is ok
Nice comfortable hotel”
Stayed 3 nights in the suites, good room size. Not much view at low level. Hotel location not near to Acropolis, quite a walking distance away. Thus have to take the Metro, which is Victoria station, a short 10mins walk away.
Location not great, 30 minute walk to city centre, through very dodgy areas. Advised to take subway. Staff very unhelpful and clueless, refused to recommend a restaurant. Restaurant in hotel overpriced and portions much too small. Again waiters not friendly. Seen people leave when they saw prices, right decision. Waited an hour for two milkshakes ordered at poolside bar and ask for them twice. No apologies received. Room Nothing special at all. Got a quick clean but bathroom tiles and bath could do with deep clean, old blackening present. Wouldn't stay here again.
Fantastic Staff, stunning pool and dining.”
The staff were fantastic and really made me welcome esp. as a single female traveller. The pool on the roof with a view of Athens below you was just stunning and then in the evening, you dine up there. Just beautiful. Rooms were spacious, bathroom a little tired but still had everything you need. The location is about 5 mins walk from the Metro but was easy to get to and you could travel down to the main sightseeing areas.
Family Vocations at the Radisson Athens”
The Radisson Athens good name is made and maintained by the stuff.
Best located for transits,excellent facilities.”
I chosed RB Park because of its location first and then its value for money which.is higher than for other similarly starred hotels. It looks apparently far from Monastiraki and Plaka (THE touristic areas of Athens) but in fact they are just 18 mn far by walk or 2 metro stops. the green line serve Piraeus port (if you arrive/leave from there) and connects with blue line to airport in 1h total travel time. 300 mt from hotel there's the "unknown" bus departure point to/from Rafina port. so excellent and unbeatable location. all of this with the comfort of silent BIG rooms (maybe noise AC to check), some of them with Acropolis view for free and others with balconies. i have been offered breakfast at discounted rate and it was complete and largely rich. personnel very friendly and helpfulf as much as they can (from restaurant to reception, passing through maids). Powerful wifi signal. sweeties and water offered at arrival. wonderful pool with view can be very helpful in hot and humid summer days in Athens. Very nice arrival area for decoration. What else? I will be surely back!
Very well located clean and the staff very friendl”
Friendly and helpful staff!”
It was overall a good experience because of the nice staff they have.
The best assets of the hotel is its wonderful staff!
Comfort and Clean”
This hotel was comfortable and clean. The location is about 20-30 min walk to Plaka. The streets were very clean and safe even we walked back to hotel in the night. During the walk, you could see 3 landmarks. The staff was great. We stayed there for 5 nights in total but separately. For our first two nights our room was on 2nd floor. The last 3 nights were on 3rd floor. Do ask for room on higher floors. I personally think rooms on higher floor were better especially the brand of the shower gel, shampoo and body location. 5 mins walk to the Metro Station.
