      Bad Experience”
Hotel is trading on its reputation and history not its quality of service and facilities - to justify the price and a 5-star rating the property needs a major renovation and upgrade - The room type we reserved was not available - we were offered an upgrade for an additional $250.00 -Instead of a Landmark Pool View Room with a king size bed - we were given a small room with a partial pool view - the room had two beds and a small desk & chair - after sundown the room was infested with small flies and mosquitoes - we only made it through the night by leaving the light on on the bathroom with the door opened a crack - Avoid this property until they upgrade

      Excellent customer service”
We stayed at the Raffles on our trip to Siam Reap in February. It's a great property, old world charm, nice rooms. We had an issue with the air-conditioning in our room, it didn't work all night and the staff in the night were not able to fix it. However, they moved us to another room in the middle of the night. The General Manager of the hotel met us the next day and refunded us one night's charge. Excellent service and super service recovery as well. I would recommend this hotel any day.

A colonial style hotel with modern conveniences and excellent service. The staff was professional, courteous, discreet and friendly. They helped organise transport, tours and guides and it all ran with military precision! We had a great time and we would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for an oasis in Siem Reap. What can I say? Our stay at Raffles was perfect in every way, going beyond the call of duty to make our trip a memorable and delightful occasion. Raffles has charm transporting you to another time and place in history. Service was impeccable, food delicious, facilities five star. A great place to relax away from the heat of the town but close enough to explore Siem Reap and the majestic Angkor Temples.

      Service in every area
Raffles Grand Hotel sets the bar for service. From the butlers to waiters and concierge everyone went out of their way to make sure I had a wonderful stay. The accommodations were comfortable and well maintained and the food was great. They were always bringing out a few surprise drinks to sample too. When I explained that I wanted to hire models for a photo shoot, the manager even made that happen.

      Clean and nice people
We stayed three days at this clean hotel and liked the friendly service, clean rooms and premises and good amenities (huge pool and nice gym). They held a wine-tasting event for guest where we were the only one's participating, so enjoyed a good taste of complimentary wine.

I went to this Hotel 2 times already and it it always a great pleasure too come back. This time there were some Russian People booked, some at breakfast if they sit next to you a little bit louder, but in general okay. They arrange great tours with private cars and have great Tour Guides. I recommend Tim which I went again. He make the Angkor Wat Tour relaxed, and brings you the great places but not at the crowded times.

Very plush hotel in smart location in Siem Riep. Lovely, ginormous swimming pool. Dance show every second night & dinner stall choices was very good if expensive. Rooms similar 1930's style to Raffles Le Royal in Phnom Penh but no balcony which was a pity given the glorious gardens. Breakfast you could sit outside though, breakfast buffet great with free champagne.

Fantastic 5 star service, Fabulous rooms. Wonderful bar and restaurant options. Immaculate colonial decor and amenities with all modern service options. Sensational breakfast. 5 star prices expected; however, US$5 for a can of Angkor beer from the mini bar somewhat excessive. Bathrooms lack easy access to shower for mobility impaired (was no issue for us)

Staff were extremely helpful & everything was 5 star all the way. We only had one night & arrived early morning (0830) & they organised a car (BMW) with driver from the hotel & an official tour guide ready to take us half an hour after arriving & they had our room ready even though official check in time is not until 1400. We were able to see Angkor Wat and two other temples comfortably within the one day. It was fantastic. Car with driver USD$131 & tour guide USD$50 all added to the hotel bill. There are cheaper ways to see Siem Reap but with the time limit we had, this was perfect & very affordable.

solve problems, high level of personal service, Raffles brand
We checked in following a online booking on agoda. The booking showed a room with a lounge which turned out to be not correct. We sought at the very best room and prepared to pay for it. The Raffles were very accommodating and added US$300 per night on top of the agoda rate. So that about US$600 per night. That room 1318 is normally over US$1,300 per night at best so Raffles looked after us very well. We asked for a personal car and driver, no issue fantastic. Can you picture my wife whom is a CCTV personality arriving at the gates of Angkor Wat driver in a cap with white gloves, just perfect. The room was very comfortable facing right onto the pool. I really loved the pool and whole atmosphere of the property. Dinner in the fine dining was low cost and the food really good. Yhe breakfast has only one issue, they don't know how to cook eggs, way overcooked and took over one morning to do my own. Following this visit we will refer our client and friend and I will come back.

Grand old hotel experience, modern conveniences, wonderful staff
It was one of the most wonderful hotel experiences I have had in a long time. I travel a great deal and stay and fine hotels. Being so near antiquity and then having a grand hotel to return was absolutely a pleasure. You still feel you are far away and yet totally cared for. I feel lucky to have had this experience.

      building, garden, pool
Overall fine, with a few problems described in my other review of the hotel. The rooms suffer from some compromises that have to do with the landmark status of the building. The friendliness of the staff seemed a bit fake after my mother was forced out of her room because a simple late checkout was denied (see my other review).

Agatha Christie's Poirot is alive and well”
old historical building, swimming pool, gardens
Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor is in a historical building built during colonial times. The management is maintaining this strength by not upgrading the rooms/hotel extensively. This has its downsides because the rooms (especially the bathrooms) can't be retrofitted to have some of today's amenities. Overall, the hotel attracts mostly old retirees who want to experience "colonial charm". During my stay I was expecting Agatha Christie's Poirot to make a guest appearance at any point in time, but the clientele remained old, rich people who like to dress up for high tea and dinner. All this was fine until the hotel (that supposedly prides itself for good service) denied late checkout (1 pm instead of noon) to my 75-year old mother. Instead, she was asked to move her luggage to my room because her room was supposedly needed. Yet, the same room was available for the same night on several hotel websites... Overall, I judge a luxury hotel by what it does when I ask for something. All the fancy standardized service and "take downs" don't matter to me if a guest's simple request is denied.

Elevated my stay in Siem Reap”
Service with a smile, grand breakfast, ambience
What more is there to say? The hotel epitomises everything that is great about Raffles - elegance, sophistication and charm. From the moment I walked in, I felt at home - because of the warmth of every member of the hotel who greeted me and attended to my needs. No matter was too small for them and I was treated like a friend rather than a customer. For instance, when my shirt was spoiled by a bird at breakfast on the day I was due to check out, the hotel laundered it for me straight away - free of charge. Other than this, I was particularly impressed by the balcony in my room, housekeeping (who cleaned my room several times a day and even turned down my bed in the evenings), the sumptuous breakfast, the spa and the fine Apsara performance in the grounds. My only suggestion for improvement would be the strengthening of the wifi signal, which was strangely stronger in the grounds than in my room. Overall, however, I had a delightful stay and would very much enjoy returning!
