6 stars experience!”
What makes this heritage hotel so sought after is beyond its property, the service rendered is what one needs to experience at least once by residing. As it will be closing for a full overhaul, I look forward to enjoy the Raffles Hotel experience once it reopen.
Felt at home and treated like a VIP”
The staff made us feel very welcome and at home. Sad though that we booked during the time that the grand lobby was already closed for renovation. Would have loved to experience this hotel in its full glory.
The colonial style retained with the decor & beautiful ceiling fans. We were amused by the complimentary peanuts; the floor is littered with shells & guests are encouraged to simply throw your shells on the floor! Singapore Slings are produced by the second & taste superb.
Definitely worth the stay”
The hotel is located near to city area, accessible to train stations, shopping malls and food. The hotel itself is immaculate in terms of service, room and surroundings. One definitely feels recognize in the hotel. They do go beyond the miles to meet your request. The long bar within the hotel provides a good place for evenings when you feel like unwinding. The famous singapore sling cocktail definitely lives up to its name.
High quality working-holiday”
I was very impressed with the attentiveness of the staffs of all departments. I've tried four different in-house restaurants during my stay, and all of them were amazing. Restaurant staffs remembered my name and dinning preferences by the second day. Hotel was also able to accommodate my late-night housekeeping requests. Very nice!
Outstanding in every way”
This is the best historic hotel I have stayed in! Service was outstanding: from the elaborately dressed doorman with perfect personality for the job, to the staff in the long Bar who had detailed history knowledge. The design and decor of the historic hotel and rooms is astounding and the accompanying atmosphere makes one feel like royalty. Rooms are equally impressive. 24hr Butler service useful. Well stocked bar fridge. Turn-down service great. The TV is a bit old (the big box type), but, who is there for the TV?! Toiletries and room amenities of high quality. Dining Food was reasonable (but I wouldn't consider breakfast 'excellent'). I'm not a fan of buffets and both dinner (Indian) and breakfast were buffet..but the chef and waiters came to the table regularly, bringing an assortment of delicacies so that was enjoyable. There are also many other restaurants scattered around the establishment but I did not try them. I did go to the infamous Long Bar though, and guests get to go upstairs to a more special area and also had privileged access to a brand new cocktail menu (April 2014)based on historic Raffles cocktails - I tried 4, and each was a mastermind of flavours. Hotel security great. Gardens nice given the contained city location. Had a spa treatment which was good. Pool area nice and peaceful. Price is high for rooms and food / drinks, but it is good value for money considering what you get. Once my bank balance recovers I will stay again - can't wait!
it was simply awesome... :-)”
It was one of those life time experience like thing. Specially with my sweetheart with me. The Butler service was also something so personal, with breakfast in your room early in the morning. All your tit bit works done. Laundry taken care of with noted of what has been done & a reading material with stories from old days. It just makes it perfect :-). I miss the Tea arrangement at Raffles.
Old world luxury and service”
This hotel is fantastic. From the check-in cocktail to the restaurant recommendations of the staff. The hotel is not a value property, but if you want to splash out, it is not to be missed. I found some of the reviews off-putting and think they must have stayed at a different hotel, rest assured this is a first class experience. The rooms are large and luxurious and the baths are wonderful. This property is a vintage property, so set your expectations to going back in time...and being very, very rich! My daughter and I especially liked the billiards room for after dinner entertainment. It was also the first luxury hotel to upgrade my Agoda coupon when they didn't have the room available. Could not have been a more lovely three nights. Very nicely done!
Simply the best”
We returned to Raffles for our honeymoon after having proposed at here during our last visit. The staff could not have been better and we really enjoyed the dinning and special attention afforded to us during our visit. Surely one of the best hotels in the world. Very romantic. We will come again for anniversaries. This is an expensive hotel but worth every cent.
Lovely lovely service”
The best thing about this hotel is its impeccable service. Sure, the rooms are grand, the grounds elegant, the breakfast sumptuous- but it is evident that the utmost care has been taken so that all the staff make you feel welcome and are unfailingly warm and professional. The location is fantastic for shopping around the City Hall area and for access to the Esplanade too.
I was fortunate that I was staying five nights at this glorious hotel. Everything about it was first class and, having now had this experience, if I ever visit Singapore again I will not hesitate to stay at Raffles. The breakfast was second to none, the Sunday Brunch spectacular, dinner in the Writers Room was a gastronomic experience and of course you couldn't consider leaving before you have sampled the afternoon tea. Every single member of staff went out of their way to make the stay special, from the concierge and receptionists, to staff in all off the bars, to butlers, to cleaners. All first class. Go on......book it, you will love it.
Colonial feeling, victoria style building.Perfect, convenient, easily accessible to main attractions. Close to Bugis. Located at City Hall area, in the vicinity of Supreme Court and Parliament. A beatiful church nearby. Robinsons shopping mall is just across the street.
Fantastic service and wonderful old-world charm”
Staying at Raffles is an incomparable experience - the old world charm and character of the rooms have been maintained and the ambience is wonderfully relaxing and peaceful. Drinks at the Long Bar, although very expensive, are a must-do... and the iconic Sunday afternoon tea at the Tiffin Room is a wonderful treat. The staff are wonderfully accommodating and helpful, and all in all, it is a pleasure and a treat to stay at the hotel.
Amazing Hotel with rich in Cultural and History”
the hotel is amazingly beautiful. the historical and cultural can be seen in the hotel itself. a lot of choices of restaurants from asian to an amazing best french restaurant. very close by to raffles shopping area and connected to suntec/convention centre.
I loved my stay at the Raffles. The rooms are magnificent and the service is great. The breakfast is well worth it, with a buffet plus a la carte menu (you can order a omelette, pancakes, juices, coffee, etc - all included in the breakfast price).
Fantastic service and luxurious”
Fantastic experience, although it was expensive I would recommend it to anyone looking to pamper themselves and see how the rich and famous live! The service was fantastic, the staff friendly too. The room was huge with seperate bathroom and dressing room, lounge are and huge bedroom. There was nothing you could have needed from slippers to a fruit basket. The location was very central with the MRT very close by. The hotel is steeped in history and the museum was very interesting. The security is good with guests having their own card to get into the gates where the rooms are located. There were heaps of restaurnts and bars at the hotel too, although as expected very expensive, but who can go past a singapore sling at The Raffles! They also had a lovely pool area. It was an experience of a lifetime and I would love to go back again one day.
High price, high quality”
In Singapore, it's the only hotel that has 24h pool. The SPA of the Raffles starts from 8:00, the earliest. We slept at the pool side like refugees, but so welcomed like VIP. Served mint-tea by the SPA. I satisfied all. We stayed 26 hours for a stay. The room with high and high roof is calm and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is totally satisfied.
Staycation in an icon”
After nearly 14 years as a transplant in Singapore, we treated ourselves to a mini-holiday in the Hotel. It's undergoing extensive renovations works, but we still really enjoyed ourselves. The rooms are lovely and historical. The staff incredibly attentive and responsive. We would definitely love stay again after the grand reopening late 2018. TIP: request a room facing away from the street, as it can be quite noisy.
Only deducted points as the pool & service facilities such as gym, spa etc were not on the premises due to refurbishment but otherwise would have received a 10/10. Fabulous service....faultless. Thank you!
It's a pity that a nice stay finish in a poor way. After complete the checkout I went to enjoy the brunch. The brunch crew didn't want to put in the main saloon even they had free tables justifying that they were waiting for possible guess to arrive and they addressed me to one lonely table outside the room. Of course, I didn't stay but I think is not the way to deal with a recent guess!!!
