I think this is the best value in Wadi Rum”
There has been this new wave of super high end camps coming onto the market (partially made popular by Elon Musk's trip awhile back). Those places are certainly nicer. BUT, when you're in these camps out in the desert, you spend literally only the time you sleep in the dwelling. So for the money, I cannot possibly understand why one would stay in those facilities. The desert, tours, dinners, food, outings, etc. are all part of the same system. I've stayed at Rahayeb several times now and they've treated me very well. The group of friends I took there was especially happy with the food. The only thing that made things difficult for me was their credit card machine broke and so it took all of my cash to pay them. This was genuinely a problem as it's difficult (and expensive) to get cash in Jordan. Other than that, it was spectacular.

Great experience ”
I sty in Rahayeb camp with my family and kids for one night, it was a great dessert and wild experience . the camp guys already prepare all of our need, at the afternoon time we went to a safari trip in 4x4 cars to see the best sunset ever, and at the night we spent the time on a very nice party. and the diner called zerb was prepared in arabic style and it was very delicious.

Disappointing experience”
We called the camp to find out how to reach them and after a few attempts spoke to Mohammed, he advised us to follow sign for Rahayeb and then we would be met and transferred by 4x4 to the camp. All worked well and there was good signage to the camp parking spot. Camp looked great and our VIP tent with bathroom was excellent. We were offered camel ride or jeep experience (extra charge). We did sunset camel ride at JOD 15 per person, excellent and worth the money. On return we were horrified to see over 200 people at the camp, locals dancing and load music being played. This continued with music getting louder and families with young kids running around. On asking we were told a film crew were filming and all of these people had been brought in for that purpose. No one told us what the evening would involve and all of the tourists we spoke to were very upset. The queue for the food was very long and we decide to speak to Mohammed, he said the people would be leaving at 9.30 pm - the loud music and announcements went on until 10.30 pm and that was when people started to leave but by then all of the tourists had gone to their rooms. What with the very loud music and flashing lights it was not a Bedouin experience, we did not get to experience what we had expected and paid for. No local Bedouin stories, no star gazing, no traditional food. I hope that this is a one off and it is not the way things are run usually. The food on the evening was good but just a buffet. Breakfast was very basic. The staff were great but sadly this was not the highlight of our trip.

Not on a Friday Night ”
Camp was good but we were unfortunately there with a very large Jordanian group that had been at the camp for the day not staying overnight, and this put paid to be able to enjoy the tranquility of the desert we were expecting due to the presence of a DJ!!! And lots of children.

Service and the vibe”
The dessert camp was well maintained and clean. They came to pick us up at the junction where we felt a little lost. The follow up was good. The dinner was yummy. The dance after dinner was enthusiastic. Breakfast could have been better. I just had tea. Being a vegetarian i had no option other than bread and hummus. Sheesha was well made and well served

A VIP experience”
Far better than I could have hoped especially when we were moved from an ordinary tent into the booked VIP tent with private facilities. Only downside was the large number of children who shattered the peace of the moment in their understandable enthusiasm for the surroundings, also disappointed that their parents took alcohol into the camp ignoring local cultural sensitivities.

Good but overpriced”
The dinner was phenomenal but the breakfast was pretty bad. There also wasn’t any performance by the local Bedouins. The facility is pretty clean and quiet. The mini suites are spacious. Guide who took us on a desert tour was great, he showed us stuff that was not on the trail as well.

Exceeded our expectations”
I was a bit hesitant due to the size of this camp, but in the end we have a fantastic and very unique experience. Highly recommended!

Very good”
Pro: Good clean, friendly camp. Good location. Dinner was excellent. We did the 2 hour dessert ride which we liked. Con: No A/C. Breakfast didn't have a good variety and quantity finished very quickly.

Sehr schön eingerichtetes Camp (mit Lagerfeuer), sehr sauberen Waschräumen. Abendessen war fantastisch und ausreichend vorhanden. Alkohol kann ohne Probleme mit gebracht werden.

Ideales Basislager, um die Wüste kennzulernen”
Rahayeb Camp is a good base camp to start your activities in the area of Wadi Rum. During day time you can hike, ride on camels, take jeep tours and so on. In the evening you enjoy a rich dinner and all the water you normally couldn't savor in desert but are accustomed to at home: a shower. Of course you get breakfast and lunch as well.

interessantes Erlebnis infaszinierender Landschaft”
alles in allem absolut empfehlenswertes Erlebnis, insbesondere Jeep-Tour durchs Wadi- grandios!
