Everything good except for the noisy travellers, they are partying every night. The hostel need to step up with some rules or reduce those "in-house party" activities.

It's really convenient to stay here especially for me as a vegetarian. Hungry Jack and Lord of Fries that offer vegetarian food are just a corner away. Both open till late night on Friday and Saturday. Furthermore, it is very near the Central Station. Just walk pass a tunnel after coming out from the station. It's just right at the end of the tunnel. In addition, it only takes 10 minutes to the Central Station from the airport by train.

Noisy and community bathrooms LONG walk from room”
located in the shadow of Railway Central in the heart of Sydney, this YHA is a hopping place, which makes it quite noisy from guests "celebrating" way into the night. If there is a way to reserve a bed in a room that doesn't face the Entry door, that would be much quieter; however, this YHA didn't approve my simple request for a lower bunk bed. Reception desk personnel couldn't have been more fun or helpful. Kitchen clean for as many users as they have. Large common areas and many cozier small areas too. Be prepared -- bathrooms are waaaaaaay down the halls, at least on the second floor, and you must use the key card to enter, so be sure it's in your hand ALWAYS. We walked 2 blocks over to another YHA right across the street from Railway Square that had a reasonably priced and extensive breakfast restaurant -- this site is bring your own. Not sure how often the mattress was checked for cleanliness, but an empty can of an energy drink was left atop the outlet when i arrived.

Railway Square YHA is a super nice YHA, working staff there are very friendly, and the location is right on the central station, very convenient! Most thing surprised me is they the hair dryer they provide is Dyson which is very good one, means they cares the customers a lot! Anyway highly recommendation of their YHA and love to live there again next time when I am in Sydney!

Solo Travel to Sydney”
I think YHA Railway Square is in a good location where it's just beside the train station. Hence, making the trip from the airport was easy. Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly by the staff at the reception. They were very helpful and nice. I choose to stay in a 8-bed dorm because I wanted to meet more people. Unfortunately they were not as friendly as I hope them to be. I guess that's okay. The room was vacuumed on alternate days. Toilets were free from vandals and it is relatively comfortable. However, it would help if some of the toilet cubicles had bidet. I think that's about it from me. Thank you YHA Railway Square!

Good youth hostel”
This hostel is near to the railway station, and when you're exiting the train station, opposite to the cafe selling sushi, please keep an eye on your right, there's this signboard for YHA Railway.. We were too immersed and fascinated by the sushi on the left, that we had missed the YHA, and we walked a long way and found the back entrance which is beside the Adina hotel.

Perfer to stay in Sydney Central YHA rather than Railway Square YHA”
It is just 3 mins walk from the Sydney Central Station to Railway Square YHA. There are two floors in the YHA but no lift going up the 2nd floor. I've stay at the YHA for 5 nights without any western roommates (ppl in white). I wonder if the staffs would differentiate ppl between westerners and Asians. The bathrooms and toilets are not as clean as expected ( It's not my first time to stay at backpacker hostel). However, staffs are nice and willing to answer any inquires. There are only three hair-dryers for borrow. You'd did better to bring your own.

I use YHA a lot in Scotland. Was pleasantly surprised to find that YHA in Sydney was not only in a great location, but the rooms and bathroom were very neat and tidy.

My Favourite hostel in sydney”
I have stayed in Sydney yha, wake up and railwaysquareyha. My Favourite is still this one. It's very New and clean and the best part is the big, chill and relax common area.

Generally clean and reasonably convenient location.”
It was clean and staff was generally friendly. Railway YHA is not as convenient as Sydney Central YHA (in my opinion). It is not connected to central station. it is located at the very end of central station and getting there requires some walking. Sydney central YHA is nearer. Also beds are not clean/washed. Only clean sheets are given. There is NO wifi in the rooms. You have to pay for it (extra) to get wifi in your rooms. Wifi only available in the common areas.

Another great YHA base”
Short journey to/from airport, exit from south concourse, turn right walk through graffiti tunnel, at end of tunnnel you will see YHA sign and then turn right. It has big commonrom, interesting event every night. Cons: only usb charge available in my dorm room. Have to charge camera place else.

probably one of the best hostels in town”
This is probably one of the best hostels in sydney with a great atmosphere and modern facilities. I have met travellers from all over the world and enjoyed my stay thoroughly. Now the only problem was the fact that many of the guests (including me) were forced to change rooms due to group bookings and other reasons, it made it pretty inconvenient. The other issue was wi fi access - not free and really expensive. One also has to pay for storage lockers when arriving before check in or after check out!

Great Location and Atmosphere”
It was wonderful stay. I will definitely stay in this Hostel as it is near to get around Sydney as well as other towns. The people in the hostel are friendly, so too the people staying there. Recommended to stay here.
