Very nice place. As I love nature the hotel was as itself as in nature
Used to be good”
We stayed here many years ago several times and still have fond memories of the small resort blended tastefully with the beautiful natural surroundings. No More! I assume the resort must have a new and careless owner. The rooms were small and dingy, and definitely not clean. We were put next to new units under construction, even though the resort was mostly empty. And for 2000 Baht? On our recent driving trip we stayed in much better places for a quarter of that.
Nice rain forest, beautiful room, basic breakfast”
It's a relaxing place to be, room with full facilitates, in rain forest. Hotel guide in English provide a lot of nearby travel info, one of the hotel staffs speaks good English. We had lunch and dinner at the hotel, food is tasty. Breakfast is very basic though. The hotel seems really promotes healthy, organic and green living, that is why we choose to stay however we found hotel is keeping 4 parrows in a (big) cage; hotel serves drinks with plastic straws; and food menu has full page of deep fry options, that I found not really in line with the concept they are selling.
Rainforest Resort is an amazing place in the nature”
I loved my stay at this Resort, it's in the middle of the Rainforest right at the river. You can rent a kayak, explore the waterfall nearby and visit the organic farm of the owner. All Resort facilities (rooms, relax areas) are built with love and very charming. It's just amazing to have breakfast in the jungle. Food is fantastic, all organic and very natural. Definitely try Butterfly-Peas - the best. Staff is super friendly as well, I spent two nights and felt so much more relaxed when I left. Foot massage was also great. Thanks! :)
The very good thing is only location, but I will never stay there ever again.”
Staffs are poor manner. Room was dusty, I could smell of mold around. Food is looks healthy they used brown rice but too salty in every menu I have tried. The more bad thing is stuffs. They have no service mind, they even blamed guest about making dirty towel in guest room at the front counter. I very much like the land scape and location but we can find many places better than this one. So I will never stay their again.
Back to nature”
I love the location of the resort which located along the river. Feel very relax. House is a bit dark at night and not suitable for elderly people because it is dark and the path way back to the room is the natural step. View from the room is great, meal is standard but not tasty for Thai people. Service is good, I feel like home when stay there.
The resort is set in a lush green forest surrounded by huge trees, a roaring river and beautiful plants and rocks. I like that it stands for preserving the forest environment and is self-sustaining. The room was somewhat old and slightly musty smelling but the view from the verandah was amazing. Breakfast was okay. Definitely worth the experience!
Nice place in the forest”
Rooms, restaurant and grounds are beautiful. The traffic on the road detracted a little from the tranquil forest atmosphere. Wifi didn't work in our bungalow, though it was good in the restaurant area. Compared to some other places we stayed the price was a little on the high side.
If you go down to the woods today ....”
I was given a river view room, which although the river was only just visible through the trees was very good, huge room with balcony, comfy bed. The owner/manager (?) was great, very welcoming and friendly. Would certainly stay there again if driving along highway 12
stop over during road trip”
My stay was simply a matter of convenience as I was traveling by touring motorcycle from Kalasin back to Chiang Mai - actually quite lovely at first but much to close to the highway and too many stairs. However, I could see it a romantic location if you choose to play Tarzan & Jane
Eccentric but good”
We stayed only one night but would happily have stayed longer. The food was good, the room was clean and usefully sized. My middle daughter drank too much Strawberry Fanta and threw up everywhere in the room, but the staff quickly came and cleaned up and remade the bed, so the service was great. Our particular room had 2 bathrooms, one of which was built around a tree which went out through the roof! It was interesting, but it also allowed the odd mosquito in, but the hotel gave us some mosquito repellant coils, so they did not annoy us.
Very relaxing atmosphere. The food and service was good. One staff can speak English well. Room was small, but clean and adequate. Other rooms looked larger, suitable for families or groups. I had a great stay. Easy access by bus or car.
Comfy room with wonderful garden”
We had a nice time in River front suite at Rain Forest Resort. The atmosphere was really nice. The green garden was surrounded us and we felt really close to the nature. It's so relaxing. The location was just next to the Fall (walkable distance). We had dinner in our room and it was excellent. Vegetables were from their own garden (so fresh and crispy). The breakfast was limited but it's yummy. Only one thing you should be worried was mosquito and insects.
Beautiful surroundings but lots of mosqitoes”
This might be a nice hotel for couples without young children but not for kids and not for older people. It had very steep stairs and lots of them. There were tons of mosquitoes. Nice balcony/side porch but couldn't sit outside for the mass of mosquitoes. We tried to get one room with a big bed and one with two twins for the kids but they were very far apart. It was very dark at night. Two of our kids fell and got hurt. The bathroom had tons of bugs and it was a little creepy - a poor attempt for a natural bathroom.
Charming hotel, welcoming and full of character”
Perfect for nature lovers and anybody who wants to stay off the beaten track. It's about a 45 minute bus ride out of town, but there didn't seem to be much to do in actual Phitsanulok anyway. The owner is lovely and welcoming and the bungalows are so pretty and peaceful. It was perfect, I would have been happy to just lounge around the hotel and not go out to be honest. But they do arrange kayaking and rafting activities also. Highly recommended :)
Very relaxing and beautiful Resort”
very beautiful resort, the rooms are a little bit dark but the hotel itself is perfectly integrated into the forest. you can relax at the small river and simply enjoy the natural environment. the restaurant is of excellent quality and the food just delicious. we will come back soon. this hotel is a must for everybody who wants to have peaceful and relaxing stay far away of any bustle.
Good place to stop over”
website looked amazing, rooms were a bit tired . Staff were helpful but be aware this is predominantly for Thai tourists so we had some issues with spice levels in food but eventually once they got used to us they were super helpful! my friend had a Thai massage which was excellent. Goodplace to stop over! we stayed in one of the garden view villas - was nice, built around a living tree in the bathroom. Did need a lick of paint in places for the price but otherwise was comfortable and everything worked.
Nice location and good service”
We had just returned from a hike up Phu Kradong and were feeling very tired and footsore. We booked into the Rainforest Resort for 2 nights to rest and relax. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we checked in and we liked the riverside setting, the room and the open-air restaurant. We also visited the organic farm which was really interesting.
Cabin has seen better days (many years ago) and was small, dusty, many insects, poorly kept and not as described in photos. After complaining to Mgr. he immediately assigned a larger cabin/room (so-called upgrade) at no extra charge that was adequately clean and less buggy. Setting & atmosphere was nice, in the forest with river nearby. Breakfast was good and staff were excellent. Must admit that, if returning in future, unless refurbished,I would likely choose an in-town hotel.
A very tired "Resort" - River view sees a very slow flowing muddy river... ”
Will not go again
