A pleasant stay”
It was a pleasant stay, no major issue.
Our standard room on the 9th floor was small but had a nice view. People smoke in their rooms and in the lobby especially not nice if you are with children. We refused the first room offered to us because of the smell of smoking people and windows that could not be opened, other room had windows that could be opened.
wasn't what i expected”
first of all, i personally checked if there is wifi available in room and i'm pretty sure it was written yes otherwise i won't bother to book. but it was completely the opposite story. when confronted, the front desk staff asked me to refer back to agoda, they have nothing to do with what was written in agoda. obviously she is not happy with this issue. as a result, i have to move to the lobby open area to get the wifi. then the best part came. lights off at the hotel lobby after 12am! what a joke! the lobby was so dark and i couldn't continue to my work. for two nights in a row, i saw 2 staffs in their uniforms (male and female)sitting at the corner and flirting each other. drama... as for location wise, it wasn't a suitable spot for tourist as it's not nearby any metro or tourism spots. overall, it wasn't a pleasant experience with this hotel. the price wasn't cheap yet the overall service and location does not justify the price tag.
Reasonable hotel but very poor English”
It is a shame that the staff speak such poor English that they could not help with accessing buses or subway and could not give any details about the hotel facilities.
Good service and big room”
Location not so good as it was not near to the subway but fortunately there are a few buses within 5 min distance that takes you to attractions like Tiananmen Square(bus no.59) and Beijing Zoo(bus no.105)and shopping districts like Xidan and Chongwenmen(bus no.105) Staff are generally polite and willing to accede to request for early check in as my flight arrived in the early morning. Counter staff allowed me to get my room keys at 10am to my delight. Usual check out is 12pm but I was allowed to stay till 2pm Room is big and relatively clean and not as bad as what other reviews mentioned. Toilet is abit old but still bearable. Room are made up promptly each night. Had no real big issues with room service during my 5nights there. Reasonable rates as well.
Very good service , breakfast good”
We actually stayed 9 nights at the Rainbow. We were pleased to have our room upgraded from very small to deluxe without charge.
Great location for seeing Beijing highlights”
Centrally located hotel in Beijing. Temple of Heaven and Liulicheng cultural street are within walking distance, HongQiao market, Tianamen Square and Forbidden city are within short distance. Quiet street in a residential area with the amenities you would expect like restaurants, cafes, bakeries, groceries, fruit and vegetable vendors. Of the 2 rooms we used, one was nice and refurbished, the other could have used new carpet. After a long day of sightseeing, a foot massage in the hotel spa is a convienient treat!
nice hotel but not so good location wise”
staff spoke very little english location very far away from city centre and not close to subway clean hotel, atm facilities
Hotel with poor location”
the hotel is not well located. even if you try to get taxis to the hotel, the drivers will replied that they dont know where it is. the service standard is still ok. got once a room service tried to enter my room in the morning. she thought that no one was around in the room.
Close to Tiennemin and Forbidden City”
Business office has little or none English translaters. Front desk is best place to go for interpreter help, or know someone via your phone.
clean hotel, room well appointed, comfortable foyer area. 15min walk to tiannaman square down interesting alleyways. close to the temple of heaven
Very nice hotel!”
This was one of the better hotels we've stayed at. The reception was very helpful and spoke flawless english.
close to the subway”
I stayed at other places in Bejing i really didn't like the way nobody spoke english.
The extra costs were high, charged for local call, peanuts at Y25 per small tin. I ate in the cafe once, expensive and I believe I got a touch of food poisoning there, The staff didn't want to hear about that. The room was small, and two beds pushed together to make the queen sized I asked for Overall it was Ok many foreign tourist buses if you like that, many facilties in the hotel, but very expensive to use them.
I have stayed there on two occasions and will recommend to friends travelling to Beijing. It is really value for money
