I originally checked into a queen size room. Upon checking in, the staff was amazing and friendly. I receive my room keys and headed to my room on the 4th floor. When I got into the room I did my usual room observation I noticed that the furniture was scratched and broken the material on the headboard was peeling and was very worn and scratched. The AC unit was not blowing very well however the room was cool. I immediately contacted the fun desk and asked if there were any other available rooms in which they replied they were two other rooms on that floor and they would send someone up to show me in the rooms. While observing the two of the rooms I noticed that all the headboards look the same scratching one would broken furniture that seem to be glued back together. I took the best of the two rooms they said was available. However the longer I stayed in the room it smelled more like mold and I was very uncomfortable spending the night there. I was preparing for event so after getting dressed I went back to the front desk at this point there was a guy available as when I checked in there was too young ladies at the front desk. I should with a young man my concerns about the mold smell and not being comfortable and was he proceeded to tell me that the hotel was older and they were working on renovations but he understood my concerns and stated that they have had other guests who had such complaints due to everyone's differences in sense sensitivity . I asked if there were any other rooms available or if all the rooms look the same worn,scratched and had the same mold scent due to the carpet. He proceeded to tell me yes.I explain to him that due to my discomfort even though I was staying for one night I would not be able to rest comfortably in these conditions and would like no the process of it early checkout. He asked me to give him a few minutes and then returned and share that there was a room on the 6th floor though it was accessible and if I would be okay with staying there. I shared with him as long as the room was clean and I did not feel like something would crawl out of the bed and get me while I was sleeping I was okay with that. He then took me up to the sixth floor to see the room that was a newly renovated room there was no carpet but wood floors and the headboard was brand new I accepted the room and stayed and ended up being way more comfortable than the three rooms that they showed me previously.

Was a great place to stay 5 min walk to subway . Everything was nearby to eat or drink. Good buffet hot breakfast . Clean bathroom. No fridge no microwave. No housekeeping unless you notify them you need it. Water is charged. 100 doll deposit cash returned on check out day.try food stores near subway like eight jane, peking duck sandwich, mala siblings.

Hotel is on the older side but everything is clean and works well. Like that there is an iron in the room and heater/AC works perfectly fine. Nice washroom, thick towels, comfortable beds. Big enough room size, breakfast (simple but good coffee) provided, excellent value for New York City. Location is in Chinatown so expect mainly Chinese food options around but it is the best in NYC. 5 minutes walk to the metro which is on a direct line to Grand central station, Times Square and The Edge (50mins) for your sightseeing needs. Reception were friendly, helpful and patient. Ask them for a contact for a cheap ride to JFK, USD28.50. Train ride from JFK was also convenient, about 80 minutes. will definitely recommend and stay again my next trip here. One suggestion. Understand that tap water is drinkable in NYC, but would appreciate a complementary bottle of water or 2 like most hotels provide.

As expected but water in shower wasnt hot”
For a 3 star it was as expected, the breakfast was good and room was fine, it was clean which is most important. Location quite good just 2/3mins walk from main street. My only issue was my showers hot water didn’t work and my trip was too short for me to ask for a fix but this was disappointing as not something I would expect to have an issue with.
