I had to hunt down the desk clerk when checking in. Breakfast was not available, phone in room didn't work when I attempted to contact the front desk to put mattress and boxspring back on bed frame in order to not a a part of the frame to stick out where it would injure a leg. The tv remote would only turn on/off & volume u[/down. Upon leaving a staff member was in hall and this was told to him and he only said "he wasn't part of maintenance'. The room was clean but not very well sound proofed.

We spent the night as our girl had an doctor appointment the next day at Iowa City, Children's Hospital. First off we booked online, which was a great rate! Motel with pool/waterpark, great for teens. Only when we got there I discovered why the rate was great, if the girls wanted to swim, I had to pay another $20! Fine I payed it. Our room was clean enough, but nothing worked! Was supposed to have free wifi, didn't. No internet at all, front desk said we could come to lobby and use it. Excuse me, it was included in my room. TV Remote didn't work, we could get tv, front desk told me how to fix it. Not my job, but I did what they told me and it worked. Phone in room didn't work, was told if I needed anything to just use my cell phone and call the front desk. Then handed a business card with phone number on it. Just shocked at this, so the only way we could get extra towels was to use our cell phones. Water park not worth the Hasle! Won't be back.

When I first arrived, there was a sign on the desk that stated the hot tub was out of order. I was really looking forward to that. Then she told us there was a $20 charge for the waterpark. I have been on the website and did not see any of those on there. So I was quite disappointed. Then we got to our room and our phones would not work or receive reception and the Wi-Fi did not work. The room also had a terrible odor so I opened the window to which there was no screen on it. There were also mouse droppings in the room. So I went to the front desk and asked to be moved. They put me upstairs where it didn’t smell as bad. The beds were old and kind of worn. The Wi-Fi really didn’t work that well. And when we went to watch TV it was dragging and slow and we couldn’t get a lot of channels. When I asked the front desk about it they said a receiver was broken on that side of the hotel. I was hugely disappointed.
