Worst place ever - Ranzig und dreckig ”
Arrived in the evening. Personnel very friendly. About the only good thing in that dive. Were brought in our two rooms. Immediate shock: I‘ve been travelling Thailand for quite some years now but a bathroom like that I‘ve NEVER seen before. Not even in the cheapest of hostels in Bangkok. It was honestly sickening. If I could, I’d have peed on the terrace and would have gone without shower for a week. The room itself was very run down, badly repaired floor boards, scuffed furniture, insufficient lighting, everything was just dark. The bedlinen were ripped. The same‘s valid for my mum‘s room. In addition, she had some geckos and other insects in her room. We asked for a change of rooms, but they only had one available. So I gave it to my mum. Room in the same condition as the first one. Staff was really helpful. After not having slept, we decided to change Hotels and leave after just one night. According to the staffs remark they had no further availabilities and all rooms would be the same. Communication was kind of troubled due to language barrier. After leaving we contacted AGODA about the desolate conditions. they tried to help us to get at least some of the money back, but the manager of Ramayana didn’t want to see any of our points. We even could prove it: had pictures of the nasty baths and rooms. She said we wouldn‘t have had talked to personnel on-site which is not true. They said no more rooms and above all no other newer cleaner rooms available. Our only mistake might have been that we haven’t contacted AGODA first. But we were shocked, disgusted and tired. So not the first priority on our minds. To sum it up: lot of money wasted for a run-down place, absolutely no value for money, ridiculous star rating, and stubborn, unhelpful and absolutely unreasonable management. Surroundings sucked as well. If you want to spend your well deserved holidays in a nice place, DON‘T go there.
Ok experience ”
It was a bit far from the beach but the shuttle takes you there every hour so it's not a problem, however the the nearest beach is not suitable for swimming. There are lots of rocks and because of the low tide it is too shallow to swim. Breakfast was OK but they should be more carefull about flies on the fruits. The net supposed to protect the fruits but the holes are big enough for flies to get inside. The restaurant is a bit disappointed since they dont have much variety and service is poor. We ordered glass noodle salad which is very easy to prepare but it took so long that we finiahed our main dish and it wasnt still there. So we canceled it.
Peaceful resort with nature ambiance”
The hotel does not have direct access to the beach but they provide free shuttle from hotel to the beach (its good way). the staffs is very helpful and friendly. the hotel ambiance is very peaceful and surrounding by water pond. the pool is big enough and the jacuzzi is awesome!!.... (picture this: pool+Jacuzzi+stars). Breakfast is good. so totally value for money!!
We stayed for 5 Nights and loved it. Rooms were beautiful and comfortable. We enjoyed the tropical feels. The pool was great, loved the breakfast and the great waiters. The free shuttle to an amazing beach every day was so convenient. The only thing that was not top quality and a bit annoying was the lunch restaurant service. The staff was moody and couldnt get our orders right every time we orederd. Other than that its a great value for money.
Had a lovely experience, nice location, great staff, rooms big and clean with a lot of extras in side room, many facilities in this resort but if you want to see another beach or go sight seeing etc you will need a motorbike which this resort provides at a cost
My friend and I stayed here for 4 nights. They were super friendly, knowledgable and we liked the fact that although you are not on the sea there is a free shuttle to the sea and the waterfall. So great. Pool was the absolute winner!
twin bedroom thai houses are great for families”
great hotel for families, twin room tradition wooden thai house, good pool that has big shallow end, play area. only negative is the beach is 5-10 drive away, but hotel has free shuttle to another hotel where beach is better than white sands, you can use the deck chairs for free at this hotel. would stay again.
The hotel and grounds are well maintained, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast was okay, all in all nice hotel and I would stay there again, however, We were in the 150 rooms and the WiFi signal was poor, The gym-both x trainers had broken electrical connections and both running machines the belts were beginning to split
Little paradise in the middle of not so nice beaches in Koh Chang. If we weren’t in this hotel we would have been miserable in this island. This hotel made the trip worthwhile. We stayed 6 nights. ROOMS; Cozy decoration all in wooden traditional style. Very spacious. CLEANESS: Very clean. BREAKFAST: Excellent, buffet style with many options and good quality food! HOTEL AREAS: Extraordinary. Greenery everywhere. Very nice pool and almost private jacuzzi area. Awesome spa!!! Good gym. Really good food. Really good room service. VAUE FOR MONEY: EXCELLENT!
Enjoyed, the bed was firm but a topper provided, the pool is good for Family though not so much for lengths. The tv though old did get good foreign films etc, the wifi good most of the time except early evenings.
The resort is very beautiful and well taken care. It's a shame that it doesn't have access to the beache. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast quite varied. However, they made us paid 250bht for a shampoo ceramic container that got broken in our room (it wasn't well closed and it fell).
beautiful garden, nice breakfast. place is well maintained, garden is relaxing and in general a very quiet place to relax. i do recommend to renew some of the places as i saw they are looking the same in terms of design but furniture and decoration in some is a big outdated (toilet, TV, etc)
Far too few pool facilities and misleading about using sister hotel facilities”
We stayed at this hotel some years ago. Grounds are stunning not on the beach but we were able to use the sister hotels (Dewa) facilities fully. On this basis we booked to stay again on our recent visit to this island. Still a beautiful hotel but the lovely grounds do not make up for inadequate number of sun beds (12 sun beds and 9 small parasols for rooms numbered up to 164!!). Only 1 small swimming pool and an outdoor jacuzzi. Could not use the latter due to faeces in it on the 3 times we tried, (no doubt due to the parents, with between them 3 babies of nappy wearing age, taking their offspring into it ) Tried going the 'Dewa' to use their facilities only to find we were now ONLY allowed to use a few certain sunbeds about 12 which were on the beach with no parasols allowed. We were not allowed to use the Dewa sun beds or swim in the pool. Some days the Dewa guests were on these sun beds for the Ramayana guests but we were cleared off Dewa beds. Very disappointed.
For a poor location, other factors need to be outstanding. They weren't.”
The site is lovely, beautifully maintained gardens, nice pool, but the pool bar was barely ever manned, did not stay well stocked. Breakfast very samey. Brown bread only on one day. If someone had just come round serving tea and coffee it would have made a difference. Receptionist at the Spa very unfriendly and everything we asked seemed to be a lot of trouble for her. The family room had a strange layout - seating area by the toilets / showers and no a/c in that area. I imagine it would be awful in the hotter months. No hot water through showers. The place is understaffed. Motorbike rental was good and necessary - the location isn't great. You will be so disappointed when you get the hourly shuttle to the sister hotel Dewa and see how nice it is there! Very bizarre Christmas eve show but some good prizes. We paid a lot of money to stay here Christmas week and were pretty disappointed.
Stay for quiet pool relaxation and lush garden, not for the rooms”
As most reviews suggest the garden is beautiful and relaxing. The pool area is just right. Easy shuttle to nice beach. Big plus for these three. Minus for outdated room with awful shower and sink. Minus for isolated location. But you can overcome this with truck taxis and much better than touristy and congested White Sand or Kai Bae. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Overall a good choice
Good hotel for families”
Nice resort with a beautiful garden and a pool area. Very clean. The rooms could use some tiny imprevements like painting the walls but otherwise the rooms are fine. The staff was very friendly. It’s 3 km away from the beach but the shuttle works just fine - runs every hour. We rented also a scooter for few day to discover other beaches and reastaurants. But you can use the taxes as well.
At first was a little disappointed with hotel because beach was further than I expected but after 6 days I changed my mind - hotel provides free shuttles to the beach every hour, ride is not too long (also ride back to the hotel), once to waterfall and once to the city at evening, and you actually definitely can live with that. But instead you get a really nice, quiet atmosphere, very cozy pool area, very nice landscape elements, evening lights were awesome, Jacuzzi, good and not expensive food and drinks (as for a hotel), friendly and helpful staff, also often local events, live music - everything on good level. In the end of the day, we were really happy with our choice. Maybe one bad thing was that AC on lowest setting was still a little too strong and a little too loud, and the beds were rather firm (like mostly everywhere in Thailand) which for us was actually great, we love firm beds, but other people might probably not like it that much.
One reception staff have big service mind problem. ”
I was treated very unpleasantly from Ramayana resort reception man staff at 21 NOV. I was stayed at AANA Resort which is right next to Ramayana resort From 21 to 23 NOV. And I definitely had a Ramayana Resort reservation from 23rd to 25th. at that time, I tried to rent a motorbike from AANA resort. By the way, it was expensive in AANA, They want 350-400 baht for a day. So, I walked and visited Ramayana resort reception. ‘Could you help me somthing?’ and I explained about what I want. Ramayana reception man, He told me ‘what? what? no~ you can use bike when you stay here. come tommorow tommorow.’ with A contemptuous expression face. so, I walked 1 km. I borrowed a motorbike for 200b a day from really good woman. I do not think I did well. also, I do not even think it is wrong. If you are a guest, you can ask. I can ask. just ask. I hope he said ‘sorry. I can not help you. it’s not on regulation. sorry. see you soon. ‘ Who is on service mind? is he got service mind? Where do he work on? Resort? I did not actually see him while I was staying there. And everything was good.
Lush lovely surroundings, very well maintained, fab pool and sensational staff.”
The staff were beautiful, welcoming and helpful. The pool was a big hit since we have 2 young children. Loved the greenery and lushness however it was on the busy road but you did not really notice it unless you had lunch or dinner. Unfortunately the beds were so hard and rooms a bit dated but all in all you could live with that. We were there for a week and really missed it when we moved to the new place. The spot on the beach for guests is lovely and we kept going back to that strip even after we left Ramayana.
Great stay and helpful staff ”
Kind and helpful staff.
