    We Never Wanted to Leave!”

It couldn't have been any better! Ramon's was the perfect place to stay in Batad! Their huts are authentic and very clean, you really get the first-hand experience of how the people there lived for years. At first, one of my friends was very reluctant in staying at the hut because he didn't like the fact that it had no electricity but sir Ramon and his staff made him realize all in one night that this is just another part of the Batad historical experience, not just a place to stay. My friend then never wanted to leave the place at all! Sir Ramon set up a bonfire for all their guests and he told stories of the entire town. It was such a great experience how the staff made us feel like family, as if we've always known each other. 10/10 would recommend this to everyone travelling to Batad! Also, the view from their dining area is to die for!

perfect ifugao hut with an excellent host Mang Ramon and Irene”

we stayed in the ifugao hut; we were welcomed with a smile and a welcome drink from Mang Ramon and his staffs. we requested for a cultural show ( with a fee ) and part 2 was story telling, bonfire, and tasting of the native wine ( part 2 no fee ). In the morning, we borrowed Mang Ramon ifugao costume while he provided us an educational tour to his nipa hut . It was rice harvest season, so the boys participated in the harvesting of the rice, rice cleaning. Mang Ramon cooked the harvested rice and served it to us. It was a very memorable and educational experience for family. Thank you Mang Ramon and staffs ~ from the 3 teenage boys

Be informed - hiking and opportunists”

The hike to the homestay takes around 30 minutes from the end of the road (literally the end of the concrete road where there is an attendant for overnight parking). Be sure to bring only what you need, as well as your valuables, and leave the rest in your car (if you have your own). Also, coordinate with your contact person at the homestay when going to Batad Village, you should not be paying an additional "guide fee" when going to the village. Be cautious of opportunists who take advantage of lost travelers. Other than that, our stay at Mang Ramon's was great.

The staff were very nice as well as the owner, Mang Ramon. There is an amazing view of the rice terraces from their restaurant. You can wear Ifugao costumes and have a pictorial from their nipa hut. We had a bonfire in the night with the owner and other guests. It was a very nice experience.

Nice place to enjoy the rice terraces if you “really” like nature. ”

Tons of cockroaches in our hut. And two huge spiders in the bathroom. If you like nature and traditional living it is great. Enjoyed meet Ramon initial but it got a bit overly commercial throughout the stay.

    A gem of a homestay ”

What a beautiful place overlooking Batad's rice terraces. Homely feel thanks to Ramon and his warm heart. The traditional huts are basic but all you need in this little slice of paradise. Perfect place to disconnect from the world.

One night only just for the experience”

Typical Ifugao tent, great for the experience however would not recommend as it’s unbelievably overpriced. There is no working shower in the whole place and the toilets are terrible to the point that they are unsanitary. Food was ok (as in edible) but overpriced as everything else. Staying in Batad was a good experience for the terraces that surround you, but you have to take a guide ( you are going to be forced to take one by constant stalking from people even inside the homestay). I have travelled extensively in Asia and have been in many touristic places but here the local community is clearly all about money, very unwelcoming (with few exceptions it looks like the majority literally hates tourists although extremely happy to charge European prices). there was no explanation whatsoever of the local culture or the history of their typical homes. If really want to stay in Batac look for better and for no longer than 1 night and research online.

Experience of a lifetime ina traditional Ifugao Hut!”

It's an awesome experience to stay in a traditional ifugao hut I. The middle of the best rice terraces in the world! Expect very very basic facilities on the rural community as this is not a luxury accodonation at all! But this is exactly what we wanted to experience. The people there are very firndsly and accommodating as well!

    Very good”

Mang Ramon's place gives you an authentic feel of Battad. The hut where we stayed with 2 children was spacious. We only had candle light for sleeping which was unusual for the children. The massage of the local women was excellent and the best we have had so far around Southeast Asia. The real challenge really and which could use a lot of improvement are the toilets and bathroom areas. It was really hard to take a bath and to go down the hut for personal necessities particularly at night. As the experience was authentic though brief, it gave us a glimpse of the lives of the people of Battad.

The manager, a nephew of Ramon the owner, told us that there was 1 guide to 2 guests. But we found out that you can have 4 guests to 1 guide. We also paid more for our guide. Ramon, the owner, is extremely nice but I hope that he can check on the guy managing it for him.

Great experience and a stunning location ”

We booked the Native Napa Hut. It's a real Ifugao Hut, the inside is kept original and the decoration is like from a museum. Don't expect comfort, it's an experience! No electricity and no light. Candles are used at night. Ramon, the owner is very hospitable and I think his accommodations have the best location in the village. The view from the restaurant area is simply stunning and the food is good. You can trust those people. Try the original rice-wine!

    Best experience in Batad ”

Sometimes the path to new beginnings start with roads that are less traveled on. There are no concrete pathways going to Ramon's Homestay. Trekking and hiking was inevitable. Every step took us away further from the city noise; there were no car engine sounds, no horns beeping, no fones ringing. Upon reaching Ramon's Homestay we were welcomed by kind and smiling faces. And of course, Ramon, the owner himself. Having the owner greet us and making sure that the we were comfortably settled gave our trip a more homey feel. Instead of sleeping in the normal rooms, my family opted to stay in the Ifugao huts. Rates for the Ifugao hut rental is a lot pricier than their regular rooms but if you want the the full Batad experience, sleeping in a Ifugao hut is a must. If you are worried about your things, the staff will provide a padlock and will teach you how to lock the door from the inside and from the outside. However, the staff highly insists that their guests bring their valuables with them whenever they leave their huts. If you're staying in the hut, also take note that there is no electricity there therefore be prepared with your flashlights and lamps in the evening. As for the view, if you're wondering if you can get a glimpse of the grand rice terraces from Ramon's Homestay, my answer is yes. Definitely yes. Ramon's Homestay provides a full and open view of the rice terraces. So close you may think you're staring at a wallpaper rather than the real landscape. Food options in this place are very few and quite expensive based on the fact that supplies are hard to come by. Bringing your own food and baon to Ramon's Homestay is allowed so carry as much as you can especially water. Just don't forget to dispose of your trash properly. Overall, if you truly want to experience and feel the whole of Batad, Ramon's Homestay will be your best bet. Definitely recommending Ramon's Homestay.

    Lovely Homestay”

It was such a pleasure to be at Ramon's Homestay! Everyone was very nice and hospitable, you can tell they work as a big family. I stayed in a Nipa Hut and really enjoyed the authentic experience. Candles were my only source of light! In addition, we also experienced a thunderstorm and electricity was out. Mang Ramon created a bonfire and shared stories about Batad!

Once in a life time experience”

Lovely people and beautiful accommodation. It was sort of like boutique camping :). We did it for a night and could have done two. The views from the huts are breathtaking. One of the staff was our guide for a couple hours and was very nice; waited while we swam in the waterfall and offered to take pictures en route and waited while we shopped In the little stalls on the way. You can even get a massage in your hut in the evening which was great after all the hiking. Met a couple of likeminded travellers and had lovely breakfast with them in the morning. Some Might complain of noise or whatever but it's amazing to hear chicks under your hut in the morning. Dogs barked a bit but it's all part of the experience. Great place and great value.
