The place looked dead
The Breakfast was perfect. Fruits, Nice coffee, Nice pancake. But the place was Just dead. The swimmingpool wasn't clean, probably wasn't used for some time. The staff or a family lived in the hotel (don't mind, but it was a bit strange). Staff could not speak english but they were friendly and polite. Pictures are also from a better time I think. We're backpacker so we don't mind but I wouldn't come a on a short holiday.

Awful from start to finish
Pulling up to the hotel we were a bit uneasy as it is located in a very quiet street, with only 1 or 2 other hotels on it and 5 restaurants. Every business seemed to be connected to one another so no option to haggle for prices. At the end of the street is a "beach" if you can call it that, its more of a harbour with no places to sit or even spend 2 minutes without being hassled to buy something or go on a day trip. Upon arrival at 5pm our room still wasnt available so had to wait around an hour to check in whilst it was being prepared. The first impression of the hotel is not so bad as the garden and the pool looks nice and we were offered a welcome drink. However it took all of 30 minutes for this to be changed. As we waited for our room to be ready we were hassled by a man selling day trips who is connected to the hotel and felt pressured into giving him an answer right then and there. We were glad we decided against it as we got a trip to see the dolphins at 1/5th of the price he offered. We booked a room with 3 single beds to find that one was just a matress on the floor. After unrolling the towel placed on my bed many ants crawled out which is a worrying start to the cleanliness of the hotel. Once i mentioned it to reception, the staff member proceeded to sweep them onto the floor and thought this would be a statisfactory resolution. They offered to move us into a double bed room, which was even dirtier and had electricity cables hanging out from the wall. After quite some time complaining to staff members who didnt understand basic english we finally got our room swept and mopped and a third bed frame. The bathroom was very basic with an old dirty plastic sink and a shower head attached to the wall so the whole bathroom got wet when it was turned on. We also ran out of water after two people had a 5/10 minute shower without hot water. There was also many ants in the bath room too behind the toilet and in the toilet brush holder. To make

Okay for a short stay
Lovina seemed quite expensive for Backpackers so we ended up here for two nights. Our bus from Ubud had dropped us off here anyway (I think this is where the shuttle bus drops people off regardless of where they want to go). There is a very pushy agent in the restaurant area trying to sell you overpriced tours, don't go with him as you'll be able to find much cheaper snorkeling diving and dolphin tours in town (tried to charge us 250k pp for dolphin tour, in town they are all 100k pp) the room: sheets looked clean but room hadn't been swept so I had to ask them to clean it. Its a big room but just needs to be cleaned properly. Bed was okay but the wooden boards kept moving around so we had to keep lifting the mattress and moving them back. Air con was good. Bathroom: it's not very nice and hasn't been maintained at all. Needs some real attention. But the shower was good with good pressure. the door was falling to pieces at the bottom from water damage and needs to be replaced. The pool: is absolutely amazing and the best thing about this place. The restaurant: only ate there once and it was overpriced for what it was. Location: far out from the town area but you can walk there in about 15-20 mins. Easy to wave down the local buses going to Gilimanuk from the main road. Overall it's okay for a short stay. would be a lovely place to stay longer if they'd just clean it better.

Making a splash
A quaint and tranquil property set slightly away from the gentle rumble of the north Bali sea. The hotel itself had character and gently persuaded you into its oriental setting. The pool was superb but for me the sun beds oozed quality and even in the most precarious of situations they shone through. In today's manic and complicated world it is essential for a sunbed to support you in total comfort and be adaptable in the many situations it faces. For me the winner outright is that amiable sunbed, not demanding money or requesting information about your next move, it stood their with or without you holding firm and tough through rain or shine.

worse hotel in bali
just the pool
It is far away from the main town, the room smells, no hot water, no internet, the breakfast is small even for kids and very bad quality. Not only that, their dog destroyed my sandals at night. They try to sell me overpriced tours. I will never return back.

Good standard for good money
swimming pool, location
Stay in Ray Beach Inn was little bit disappointing. Staff performance was not very good neither room standard. Upsides are location close to beach and nice swimming pool.

Good standard for good money.
swimming pool, location
Upsides are that hotel is located close to a beach and has nice swimming pool. On the other hand room standard is quite poor and it is same is cleaness. Because I live in Bali for longer time I can compare staff performance and this one was poor.
