Would definitely recommend this hostel”
No complaints whatsoever
I stayed in the 4 bed female dorm. Pros: Clean rooms, bathrooms Free water Fruit for breakfast All day coffee and tea Cons: You have to supply a keycard for power, which means that anytime someone leaves the room all of the electricity gets cut. Not the worst, but not ideal. No curtains on the beds. Overall decent for price.
Great place to stay!”
I stayed in a few hostels in Georgetown and this was my favorite! The hostel has a great location, the staff is friendly and helpful, it's clean and the showers are amazing (rain showers). You have a place downstairs to sit and meet other people. There is a water dispenser and coffee and tea all day.
Nice dorm in the Center of Georgetown”
Pros - the location is central of George Town , u have everything around this place by walk , cons - I could not say anything cos the add on breakfast made it even sweet deal. Something that I like about the place was the staff , they were so friendly , they let me use thr computer and guided me with bus directions and provided a map with marking and how to go around , Elice the front desk girl was very helpful - Thank you it was a good stay overall.
(+): good location, next to little india. No hard at all to find indian food for breakfast & dinner. Good air condition, so cool, there's a fan too. Hot water for bath. They have a cat, we love to play with it. (-)boring breakfast, only bread with strawberry jam & butter, lack of hot tea. No elevator to reach second floor. They do not clean the room. No tooth paste.
Stayed in the room of 6. Comfortable bed, AC. Breakfast simple, with fruits. Breakfast practically starts at 8:15 AM, I wish it was earlier. Daily English newspaper. Desktop computer. Fridge available without freezer. Broken toilet, faucet not fixed when I was there. No salt, pepper. Towel for free. Good location. Very close to free bus from the ferry. Tea, coffee available all day. Microwave, electric kettle, toaster oven.
room just a little bit dusty, every thing are good! location is very nice, value for traveler!”
every thing nice n good
Cleanliness is a huge no from me”
I can't believe I found a cockcroach inside my rooms running. And the room is definitely not cleaned before a guest move it. The bathroom floor stains are terrible, it looks like forever never clean before. Lots of hair can be found on the bed as well. My girlfriend and I had terrible night sneezing all night long. The aircond has surprisingly loud noise which make our night worse.
Terrible hostel conditions”
It's true that this is a cheap hostel, however, that should not mean for a dirty place with no locks on the bathroom doors or the toilets. There was nobody to show you your room and the "pantry" was a tiny corner faucet behind the reception. The whole place was dirty and not taken care of. Finally, my sandals got stolen and there was nobody to give me any reason about it. As a frequent traveler I won't recommend anybody to stay in this hostel. There are plenty of other places where you can stay for a better experience in Penang.
I really liked this hostel! It is very nice and cheap. Clean and comfortable beds, friendly staff and with a breakfast included!
Good budget hostel”
Good location, a few minute walk to Street Art area, night food market, Little India. Breakfast was ok, and a free flow of tea and coffee is available all day, I appreciate that. Staff was friendly, though when I asked for the location of the ferry terminal, she showed me a wrong place, which made me have to walk 10 minutes more under the sun.
The inn is very well located in Little India district. Walking distance to many monuments and murals, as well as the city bus terminal. The room is comfortable and quiet. The staff very easy going and friendly. The lady in reception is very able, the male staff a bit lazy. The bathroom light wasn't working during my stay and was not fixed. The air conditioning sounds like a truck engine. you have to wear ear plugs if you want to keep it running during the night. Very simple breakfast, served very late.
Great Location, wonderful stay”
The hostel is located in a really good location where the tourist sights, eating places, transportation and nightlife (Chulia Street) around Georgetown are within walking distance. The place is clean and the staff were really helpful when we stayed there. The double bed was comfy and apart from the irregular hot water for the ensuite shower, we enjoyed our time there. It has a space to chill on the ground floor (behind the reception desk). I reckon there's no need for a tv in the room as I don't expect visitors to watch anything as there's so much to do in Penang. We'll definitely come back again.
Good hostel, well set up”
The beds were well made, solid so didn't move, the syorage cupboards were useful and the pillow was nice and soft. I didn't get to use the free computer, or the tea or coffee. I did get the top bunk and the air conditioning blew right onto my bed making it difficult to sleep not just because of the cold but also the noise. The staff were ok and let me into my room when I got locked out.
I've stayed for a couple of nights and all was just perfect! The location, the place, the bed and the best thing or this place is the staff!! Kamran was very usefull and very polite and guna also usefull and so funny!! I really recommend this guesthouse if you're going to stay in penang!
Great hostel for exploring the city”
The boutique hostel is located within walking distance to many of the superb street food locations and attractions around George Town. The rooms and shared bathrooms are clean and comfortable, although some mattresses may need replacement and intermittent hot water disruption. Breakfast provided is just sliced bread and fruits, with free flow coffee and tea, but there is always the great street food around the vicinity to explore. The rooms are fairly quiet at night, apart from those near the main road and some creaking wooden floors. Recommended for budget travellers.
Amazing value for money”
Amazing. I felt it's one of the best hostels I have been too in a long while. I stayed in a two bunk bed room at the ground floor. It is very compact and pleasant, they make very good use of space. The whole feeling of the building is great with a traditional colonial architecture building. Shared showers but very clean. Staff was very friendly, breakfast was simple but very good and it is simply amazing value for money. Highly recommended!
reasonably good guest house”
Staff r friendly, Room is a bit small but clean n comfortable, Bathroom is clean and acceptable, Location is strategic, near to LEBUH CHULIA, near to bus stop for CAT free shuttle bus(2 directions) Value for money
The best hotel in my trip.”
I stayed in a dorm for 2 people. I like the strong bed that you will not noticed when another one move. The location is good and easy to find. I didn't try the breakfast because I had to leave the hotel at midnight to KL. Everything was great so I will recommend to anyone who visit Georgetown!
