Good for transit”
Walking distance from station, building a bit old so it appears not clean enough and a bit creepy. They have cable TV but it was placed too far from bed. Got a room with bath tub, which is unexpected. The staff was friendly and they wait for us late at night. If you’re traveling late, this will be a perfect place to stay, one night enough.

Hot water issue!!!”
This is our favorite hotel in Malang since years. Always a pleasure to have a room in this place, but this year we've found that hot water is not anymore 'hot', whether in the early morning or late afternoon water is only so..so...more cold than warm....pity that the quality drops.

The good points: - Friendly staff - Location - Big room Negative points: - We paid for a double bed and got twin beds - The room was not soundproof at all, one could here EVERYTHING outside (as it is next to a big roundabout, you can imagine how loud it is) earplugs won't help - Its an old Dutch colonial building so the interior is incredibly old and not really clean, our bathroom reeked of stale bleach and our towels had loads of brown markings. - There does not seem to be enough staff, the building feels abandoned and our room was not cleaned when we put the appropriate sign on the door for the day - The shower is only ice cold - Windows go around the top of the room, so it doesn't get dark enough and the room gets illuminated by streetlights All in all it felt a bit creepy and uncomfortable being there.

Good location and amazing staff”
Well located in the centre of Malang, with super kind, helpful and friendly staff. The hotel is showing its age and looking a little worn, but the room was spacious and the lobby is actually quite charming. Wifi was a little bit flaky at times but usually good. Overall, great value given the location and the really excellent staff!

Totally Worth the Price”
Big room, big bathroom, but low price. The inn is located right in the heart of Malang—you could reach central park (alun-alun), train station, town hall, and food court by walking (<1 km). It has nice ethnic/colonial feel. It has small bar and of course, alcohol.

Not bad but not great”
It was in a good location and not far from the station, 5 mins walk. The rooms were very large and the room was modern with a large bed. Good aircon. The bathroom in need of update and only time we had hot water in the shower was at 6:30am all over times was cold. WiFi was really really slow, even in the reception area. It’s not a quiet place, the main front walls of the room are all glass as the rooms used to be fan only, this means no sound proofing at all and the staff when cleaning from 7am are very noisy, chatting, singing etc. We also got put next to a room that was being renovated so we had hammering from 7am our first morning, and we were not told or given any warning. Staff are a little odd.... not rude but not friendly, the males and housekeeping are the friendliest, reception some are ok but you have to say hi first when you walk past otherwise they just stare at you. It’s just a little odd and makes you a bit uncomfortable. Could be that their English is not great so they maybe avoided us a little. Overall good for the price, but only for a few night, it was clean and bed comfortable, just don’t expect a friendly and be prepared to wake up early.
