What I liked: The hotel is located in a quiet part of Sha Tin, away from the crowds, but still very accessible. There are two bus stops nearby, making public transport easy and efficient. It’s just a 10-minute walk to the Prince of Wales Hospital, with no need to walk along or cross busy streets — a huge plus for conference attendees. The area around the hotel has many local food stalls, offering a wide variety of affordable and tasty options. A 7-Eleven convenience store is also nearby. The hotel does not provide bottled water, but offers unlimited clean drinking water through a faucet in the room, which is environmentally friendly. Our room was spacious enough for three people. While the building is a bit old, the room was clean and well-maintained. Housekeeping was excellent — towels were changed daily, and the room was cleaned thoroughly. There was ample storage space, which made it easy to keep things organized. The TV worked well and offered both local and English-language channels (though we didn’t watch it much). Areas for improvement: Sound insulation could be better — I could hear my friend talking inside the room while standing outside the door. Thankfully, our wing was quiet with few guests. The internet connection requires re-logging in every two hours unless you join their membership program, which can be a bit inconvenient. Overall: The Regal Riverside Hotel is a practical choice, especially if you have business at the nearby hospital or want to stay in a peaceful area with easy transport options. With a few improvements, it could be even more comfortable — but I’d definitely consider staying here again.
