Our Strahan Experience”
We have had a wonderful 4 days sightseeing around Strahan. The best accomodation with Regatta Point Tavern. A beautiful 3 bedroom home newly updated with everything you could wish for. A big congratulations to Vicki for a wonderful stay.
Great Value, best food!!!!!”
We stayed at the Regatta Tavern in a two bedroom cabin. It was very roomy, had a fully equipped kitchen, very comfy bed. The style was dated, but for the value for the money who would care. Staff were very friendly. Free laundry facilities with a large washing machine and dryer. Location is brilliant. Wilderness train ride right at your door step. Lovely 20 min walk to the River cruise boats. 10 min walk to the Peoples park with the waterfall walk. Best of all the tavern is on the grounds and they have amazing and good valued meals.
very good value for money”
our stay at regatta point tavern was great the staff were friendly the food in the restaurant good cabin clean and roomy close to water quiet location would stay here again
Terrific accomodation for a family. ”
This was such a lovely house - looked like it had just been updated and was spotless. It had everything we needed and I would happily recommend the accommodation for a family. The only thing we missed was not having wifi - we had no Vodafone data for 3 days so ended up using wifi elsewhere (free at tourist centre & café). Strahan is a lovely place for a visit and we could have easily stayed longer, thanks.
Sharon and Karl”
We loved the location. Right next door to the Wilderness Train. The location was quiet, convenient and you could walk into town with ease. The food in the Regatta Hotel was great, with a bottle shop incorporated. You could do your laundry in the wash room at the Hotel, very convenient and at no cost to the guest. We enjoyed the friendly banter with the staff. The accommodation was clean, tidy, self contained with everything you needed. The bed was very comfortable. We had a great time.
The cabin a bit old need some renovate.”
We just stayed overnight before we head on to Cradle Mt the next day. The cabin was pretty clean and it has anything that we need. The staff was very helpful as we arrived around 8.30pm on saturday but almost all the restaurants and cafe were closed (actually the town was pretty small)The staff offered instant noodle and garlic bread for our dinner. Personally I prefer stay in Strahan instead of Queenstown.
Very comfortable place to stay in Strahan”
We were very happy with out choice to stay in Regatta Point. The cabin was very comfortable, clean, warm and in a good location. Wish we stayed longer.
cosy & comfy”
There is Daikin heater in the living room, the warmer is strong but do not circulate well to other parts of the cottage. However, bed has warmer pad so it is very cosy & warm to snug in bed. Reception is a little tricky to find as there is no clear signs, do head in to the restaurant as reception counter is at the cashier. Wifi in cottage is down, but we managed to use the free wifi (unsecured) from Strahan village hotel in town.
Good location for the railway station”
Walking distance to Strahan west coast wilderness railway station.
I would advise this to everybody who visit Strahan”
My husband fell outside and had to visit a doctor. The lady in the tavern took us to the docter and gave us all kinds of food for breakfast and she was very concerned. This was beside the great place very kind and I would advise this cabin to everybody !!
A large cabin, fully self-contained.”
We were suprised with this one, located at the end of a point, we had a large cabin which was fully self-contained. It is a little way out of town, but the views are great. The hotel restaurant was excellent and the staff very friendly. Would fully recommend.
The cabin was basic and very dated and rather tired, as was the tavern itself. Double bed was comfortable though room very pokey. As my husband was unwell, staff kindly brought our meal over to our cabin. food was fresh but average. Tavern positioned directy opposite main shops and wharf, 2 minute drive or 15 minute walk to nearest shops. Tavern open for dinner but no breakfast available. Had to drive into town to find early breakfast at cafe before going on cruise. It was budget accommodation but I would not choose to stay there again.
Beautiful location and fantastic service”
Loved it here instantly. The cabins are fitted with everything you need, and there is a laundry with an outdoor clothes-hanger. There is a diner of the same name here, and the prices are average. The stand-out feature was the kind lady who helped us ring a tour company because we had no reception.
Service with a smile!”
Nice place. The rooms are dated but the units are spacious, afforable and I found the area to be extremely quiet. Restaurant food was nice and affordable. There is Free WIFI in the restaurant and free laundry facilities for those on the go. Any dramas, bring the matter to Vicki (? Owner/Manager), she was extremely kind, professional and a pleasure to talk to.
We would recommend it to others. Price was good and location was good. Nice and clean, and quiet at night.
Excellent location. Units clean. Good towels. Cooking facilities ample. ”
No laundry. BUT location and price made up for it.
Very nice & relex”
Very nice stay, the room is fully equipped and we cooked ourselvies and had the dinner with fantastic sunset view.
COSY SELF-CONTAINED CABIN!”
Our cabin was pretty much a 2 min walk to the local restaurant which served a nice variety of meals! Good value for money!
comfortable motel. ”
the only issue we had was the bistro was closed both nights. We were told the first night but the second night we had to go back out again as we not informed? We had been told it would be opened the second night and thefore it was extremely frustrating to have to go back out again after we had got back from a long day out.
excellent value for money we live in Tasmania and have been around
