Traveling to China? Find Anhui Province hotels

We stayed in the basic twin room at the North side (south side rooms looked much better). It is connected to the main South building via an indoor bridge, or the outdoor pathway. The room was still nice and cosy. The toilet was quite small, and had a matte translucent glass; may be slightly uncomfortable depending on who you're staying with. Bed was very comfortable. Basic amenities were provided, including kettle, bedroom and bathroom slippers, shampoo and soap, towels, and they had down jackets if you didn't have a warm jacket with you. Internet was fast too. Breakfast was basic, but we had a very good dinner. Price is not cheap, as most reviews have mentioned, be prepared to pay a premium for everything on the mountain. You will understand once you're here. However, compared to the other hotels which we ate at, Xihai hotel's restaurant had the best food choices for its price. Service was good as well. We ate the main restaurant next to the lobby instead of the all-you-can-eat-buffet. Overall a very comfortable stay. We had stayed at another hotel on the mountain too, and Xihai is definitely cleaner and newer. The only down side was that from the Yungu cable car station, you would have to (slow) hike about 45mins-1hr to get to the hotel. Xihai Hotel is also not very close to any one particular peak, but it has a very central location especially if you're hiking around the east to middle areas of the mountain. So you can still hike to all these areas, with just a little more effort. We were really fortunate to catch a sunset at Danxia Peak, and a sunrise at the Refreshing terrace. It was fabulous! If you don't mind hiking a little more, but staying at a comfortable and clean hotel, which provided all the basic amenities (the other one we stayed at didn't have soap and shampoo), choose Xihai!

Location - Very strategic location. Need to climb 20 mins (0.5km stairs) to reach the bright summit. Consider the nearest hotel to the bright summit. Hotel - Hotel consists of few blocks. As we booked the expensive economy room, we stayed the same block as the reception and restaurant. The hotel has a spacious outdoor space in front, and a very welcoming lobby. They do have restaurant in the hotel but the food price is very expensive. Staff - They know their things well. Once pass my booking slip then they handle everything nicely from there. Room - We booked the economy room with the timber finishes. Although it is warmer than the normal room, the timber room is at the highest floor at level 5 and there is no lift! Hence our legs suffer a lot climbing up the stairs. But the room is very clean, cozy and warm. TV has many channels too. The amazing thing is the hotel do provide us with their jacket! So we can wear it around! Room bathroom - Remember to bring your own cleaning stuffs (toothbrush and comb) as they would charge if you use theirs. They do provide soap and towels for free.

We hiked all day and arrived at the hotel after surviving a long day of rain and snow. All we wanted was a hot shower. Much to our surprise the hotel was very clean, service was great and the rooms were wonderful. The rooms were clean, tv had western channels, The bathroom and shower were hot and clean. They even had extra warm winter jackets for us to wear. The restaurant only Chinese food. It was a little pricey but you're at the top of the mountain so prices are expected to be higher. The hotel had a massage spa and a small supermarket to buy food and other things like rain jackets. I would stay at this hotel again and recommend it to others.

The staff in Cheng Jin hotel is super helpful, we arrived at the hotel one day before our actual stay (we spent the first night at one of the hotel at the mountain to watch the sunrise). So we went to Cheng Jin hotel to see if we can store our luggage one night before we stay. And yes, we can do that for free. The staff also recommend us an achievable itinerary in exploring Huangshan (in simple English with a map). We find our room is very clean, spacious, modern and extremely good value for money. The food in the restaurant downstair is authentic Anhui cuisine. And the location could not be better, it is located right next to Tangkou bus station. The only transport hub in that area.

Due to miscommunication between Agoda and the hotel, check in was a bit chaotic as we were told that our reservation couldn't be located. There really isn't any substitute of similar quality hotel nearby Hungcun and I overheard another conversation between a hotel guest and staff that rooms were fully booked... so I was slightly paranoid at that point, especially I was travelling with my parents who are both in their late 50s. Anyway, it was sorted about 30 mins later and the hotel manager was very kind and apologetic all the way through. The room was nice, except that we didn't really like two-storey villa as the bedroom floor downstairs was a bit small and the bathtub was on one side of the room and not on the side of the shower/toilet facility. Food was ok but not much choice, only one hotel restaurant. The environment and surroundings were excellent, flowers were blossoming so view was nice. We enjoyed it very much and had no regret at all staying there. Some areas for improvement though, with this price that we were paying.

Really nice hotel. Very close to the train station (maybe 8 RMB taxi), very luxurious feel, and the breakfast buffet is a good selection of well made food. I stayed at 7 hotels on my most recent trip to China, and my travel partner said this was the best hotel of all the 7 we had been to. When I walked into the hotel room it was such an amazing feeling. I was not expected a place this good for the price.

Paiyun was full house and we were upgraded to Xihai Hotel. XIhai is a much better hotel than Paiyun in terms of location and star. Xihai is very clean and comfortable. However, do note that all hotel rooms in Huangshan are divided by thin wall partition (all building materials are hand-carried to the site). As such, I couldn't sleep well on day 1 as the closing of next room door seemed like urs. Even ringing of door bell next door seemed to be yours too, Staying on the mountain can be expensive but a good experience.

This is one of the best hotel in Huangshan, its located near to the cable car if you come from front gate(ci yun temple) of Huangshan. The hotel is clean, bed was comfortable, good shower, the room also comes with buffet breakfast which was great and satisfying. But the hotel is not located at the center point of Huangshan, making it difficult if you like to check in the hotel before exploring different areas of Huangshan. Its about 2 hours walking distance to the brightness summit, but its just opposite Tian Du Feng(most dangerous peak, must go!) , Lian Hua Feng (highest peak) & welcoming pine. Since we came from back gate (yun gu temple) we had to explore different areas (6 hours walking) before check in to hotel to avoid repeating the route(and we think we have made the right choice, it was suggested by our hotel in Tangkou). Overall this hotel has good quality, best for leisure visitors. Pls do some research or consult to your hotel owner before deciding how to explore Huangshan. Enjoy!

we accidently had to stay the night in Hefei after missing a bus and were a bit stranded, when lo, we saw the neon green of the holiday inn sign amidst the unfamiliar and daunting facade of inner hefei at night and were saved. A good shower, some room service and a sleep and we were fine. A familiar brand with familiar service, maybe not your first choice, but on this occasion, genius.

Arriving at this hotel one is met by courteous staff who guide you to check-in and whisk you to your room. The check-in was smooth and efficient. I had booked a King Hilton Deluxe Hot Deal and was shown to a beautiful room on the executive floors where one can access complimentary afternoon tea and soft drinks and complimentary breakfast in the private executive restaurant. Soon after settling into my room a smiling and courteous chamber person turned down my bed and checked I had all the towels. Complimentary internet access meant I could get on with my work without delay. I will definitely stay at this hotel on my next visit to Hefei.

Amazing hotel, though is located quite far from high-speed train station in a newly developed zone. I don't think I've stayed at a fancier place for the price - so hands down the best value here. Bed was extremely comfortable and staff couldn't be more helpful. I consider the breakfast about a 6 out of 10. Other Hiltons do a much better job. Such a wide variety of choice as usual, but everything seemed either stale, flavorless or poorly put together. Would prefer less options if they were good.

Booked this room for it's deco, when we had visited some chinese bed museum , we were quite worry about the size of the bed, and only realised later that this room stated single room, as we were wondering if it's for single, but it state double bed, owner were very responsive through agoda, replying my question in English. End up, this room is quite spacious, with a wide chinese bed for me and my friend. Like the chinese style day/rest bed , very comfortable to rest and surf internet. There are two single seat sofa that my friend slack on to read her online story, especially after our long day trekking through the mountain. Location is right in the middle of Old Street, need to walk into an alley. This is a family run little hotel from their house, young owner received us when we arrived, and help us carry our luggage up, do note that this is an old mansion house, stairs is abit narrow for some people and no lift. We are allow to use their kitchen and washing machine.

I chose this hotel because it was reasonably priced but advertised itself as four star. I knew because it wasn't a western chain there wouldn't be a lot of english spoken, but everything worked out without major problems of delays. Rooms are very clean and well appointed. Breakfast is an extensive buffet and even the most fussy westerners could find lots of choices. The only thing that was bad was coffee in the lobby, I recommend the starbucks down the street.

This is a boutique hotel housed in a Anhui style building. It is clean, comfortable and staff very friend. Hotel staff helps with trekking route up Mt Huangshan. Hotel is located about 15 min walk to bus station that brings you to the entrance to Mt Huangshan. The rooms at the back will get you face-to-face with nature with the slope of the hill close-up. Rooms at the front faces the small road and canal. Canal is quite nice at end. From the canal you can see the Lianhua peak of Mt Huangshan. There are rows of restaurants along the river but this area is not the Tangkou town centre. Town centre is about 15-20 min away by foot.

This Crowne Plaza hotel is the best international standards hotel you can get so far, if you plan to visit Huangshan and neighbouring attractions. My special view room comes with a view of the river, and is a good place to take sunset photos at the balcony. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. I dined at the Chinese restaurant on G/F and the All-Day Dining Cafe on 3/F before. The former was more impressive, and prices were reasonable. I had Yangcheng Lake hairy crab there, and it was very tasty and fresh. Buffet breakfast was average. That said, I must say their Chinese porridge was a lot better than many 5-star international hotels I've been to. They also had fresh juice (instead of concentrated ones) Hence, it really depends on what you like for breakfast. The spa in the hotel is outsourced, hence I didn't try. What impressed me most was the concierge service provided by the hotel. They were professional in helping you plan the itinerary, and their drivers were all experienced and friendly. Just tell them what your interests are, and they will provide you with the best advice. There are some good Chinese restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, so no worries if you want to have sth different anytime of the day. This hotel, which recently opened last April, was fully occupied on Oct 1 and 2 Golden Week holiday break (They had 480+ rooms). You can imagine the popularity of this hotel.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel where the room was promptly made up and linens changed. Checking in was a breeze and we were directed to the sign board which showed the directions to our rooms. I was surprised that there was no porter to help with our luggage and showed us to the rooms. The hotel staffs would respond to queries but would not go extra mile to render any help when needed. None of the staffs would greet you with a smile unless you initiate. The hotel has a convenient store, a massage service and a gym but quite a few equipments were not in working condition. Wifi is only available at the hotel lobby and the signal can be weak when crowded. Many items on the menu for room service were not available after 8pm!!! On the whole, this is great hotel with no service other than house keeping!

The food at the restaurant is very reasonable and considerably delicious as compared food served at the hotel at top of huangshan mountain which is triple than what we paid here and with much lesser quality. Breakfast is of good spread, dessert is also available too during breakfast. Hotel's room is very beautiful with good view too. The staffs' performance for xuanyuan rooms are of very low quality as compared to the main hotel of huangshan resort and spa except for the manager. The hotel manager is sooo nice while the reception ignores us when we have difficulties with our room upgrade request (with addition payment) and luggage collection. The manager is also so friendly and informative about the hot spring bus pickup. However staffs at main hotel is very helpful. All of them from security guide to concierge. Please note the normal deluxe room and xuanyuan room is of different location. You need to climb up stair cases and walk for 15-20mins to reach the xuanyuan room. I booked for 2 nights, one xuangyuan one at main hotel and went to the wrong one on first night (main instead of xuangyuan) where we were treated so nicely and guarded to the xuangyuan room. After the main hotel's bell boy left, we are almost left with no service if not for the manager. If you are to book for tour guide from the hotel, please exercise some common sense and do not just take the words from the travel's lady blindly. She is very beautiful and friendly, but the information may not be of most accurate. And engaging a tourguide or not to go up to the sightseeing area, I would recommend to DIY. NO, not because of the price. The price is not cheap though, about USD350 for 2 pax for a day trip. But really it is not about the money. It says day trip but it could also mean one destination. If you have time constraint,going on your own may allow you to see more than following a private guide.And you are free to eat at hotel that you like and you wont be threatened with misleading information.
