Where to stay in Australian Capital Territory
Australian Capital Territory hotels & accommodations

When we decided to spend a two-day trip wandering around the capital city of Australia, we found it to be a little bit difficult to find an accommodation with good price and location at the meantime - couldn't find a better option than the Forrest Hotel and Apartments. The hotel, which is more like a motel actually from what it looks and equips, locates in the tourist ...

A great location at Capital Hill with good public transport connections. Very comfortable beds and quiet rooms. No luxury giveaways like slippers but basic necessities. Friendly helpful staff. Good buffet breakfast. Not sure how a disabled person in a wheelchair would fair as bench heights were very high. Maybe there are other room options that would be more suitable. ...

It was the third time in two months I had stayed there for business. The exceptional value and convenient location (especially if you have a car)was what attracted me initially. I had no complaints at all. You cannot expect five star accommodation in an hotel like the Rex, especially as it is undergoing an upgrade, but it doesn't pretend to be anything other than what...

The hotel rooms are fantastic. I couldn’t fault a thing, the staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant downstairs is great. The best part is it’s a 2 minute walk to the bus terminal and Westfield shopping centre. I would highly recommend this place and it’s certainly value for money. Will stay again!!

We had a weekend at this hotel and would definitely do it again. The room was lovely and exactly what we expected from the description and photos. What really stood out though was the staff. They were in sync with the relaxed vibe in the hotel while still maintaining a 5 star service. Nothing was an issue, requests for late check out, request for the room to be made u...

The staff were wonderful and helped us so much with maps and directions. They were all so cheerful and polite. Our room was a very good size. Upon request, we were supplied with a toaster and a micro-wave. All other amenities were already in the room including free wi-fi, TV and fridge. The shower was magnificent! and roomy. Bed was very comfortable as were the pillows...

Fabulously designed hotel with excellent on site restaurant (Monster). The only, but significant downside was the complete lack of air conditioning for Australian summer days over 40 degrees. Opening up to try to create cross draft just didn’t cool the room down to a reasonable temperature. Would happily come - but in winter.

My stay was so wonderful and only minutes from the airport. The staff were friendly, went above and beyond to cater for my needs and in particular I would like to highlight Catlin in the dining room, Vicki and Tony in reception. If I ever return to Canberra, which I am sure I will, I will choose to stay there. It was so homely from the moment I walked into the foyer...

Two bedroom room was a beautiful apartment with every facility needed. Been renovated and was perfect for a few days stay. Most hotels in Australia like this are usually run down and expensive. Free Wifi, Breakfast was $15 but worth it. Suitable buffet, nothing outrageous. Check in was a breeze and easy. Gym was great for a hotel this size. Cons: $10 parking. At $270 ...

The room was nicely furnished, with at a terrific, central location. You won't be able to walk to sights such as the war memorial, but it's close enough, and well within walking distance to some very good coffee, food and a micro brewery! The bathrooms, however, were a bit tired looking (but was fine), but I found it strange that there was no bottled water was provided...

We needed to stay in Canberra on our way back from a snow trip. We were tired and needed a quick meal and rest. We booked into the motel rooms and they were really clean and well appointed. The best part of the place was the excellent restaurant onsite with a great selection of food (all of it nice). We could get a good meal without going too far. Set in amongst bushla...

Very satisfied with the hotel! We booked Double Studio and stayed for 1 night. We had 2 queen beds. Hotel is very new and is not on GPS yet. GPS led us to Best Western, which is just right beside Abode. Parking was plentiful within hotel compound. Check-in was a breeze and we were located at level 1. They have a porter trolley where guests can use for ease of transport...

Our stay was excellent... The room was large and quiet, with a great tv and entertainment package with cheap pay per view. We were upgraded to one of the four balcony rooms by simply asking, which demonstrates the staffs commitment to a high standard of service The room was large and comfortable, with a great layout and one of the best beds ( and pillows) that I hav...

We had the 2 Double bed room. I originall booked it as the size stated it was 54 m²/581 ft², this wasnt the case at all, its a standard 27m room. Anyways that aside this is a fabulous restaurant. Located at the airport it is a little out of town. Parking is severely limited and the carpark fills up fast. Alternative outdoor parking is available. The Hotel is clean an...

My wife and I ran out of affordable hotel rooms within Canberra city centre for the Easter holiday so we have no choice but to look for alternatives at the city outskirts and finally booked at Abode Hotel Tuggeranong. Tuggeranong, one of the districts of ACT, is 20 Km further south of Canberra. Despite the distance though, it was a good choice, surprisingly. Firstly, ...

The hotel is located in a good location which is very close to O’Connor and Canberra City. The room was neat and clean and of an average size. There is a basic well equipped gym which we did not get to use. Easy access to shops down the road in O’Connor. Complimentary Wi-fi was available and all major channels as well as some Foxtel channels were there. Parking faci...

friendly staff, nice location in downtown canberra. the room was nice and comfortable although the bathrooms were showing their age slightly and will be in need of renovation soon. the breakfast menu was good and the wait staff were efficient and helpful. all in all this was a good stay however it was not cheap even by australian standards at night. i believe this w...

i spent 8 nights here and couldn't fault it much. the management were courteous, friendly, efficient and helpful. i was leading a party and all of my colleagues were most impressed with the hotel which though somewhat plain on the outside offers a high standard of hospitality. my only gripes were the miniscule toiletries provided - must be the smallest i've ever seen. ...

Nice comfortable 2br apartment. Good shower. Negatives are:- single beds have no headboard with one facing the door; no kitchen rack to dry cleaned dishes and cups; toilet door lock missing; bedrooms on the small side with no air-conditioners; had noisy family after midnight. I had a work trip in Canberra and found it difficult to book accomodation close to the office. This was my first time staying in a hostel but I’d definitely stay again. No iron in the room but there are communal facilities downstairs to do iron t...

I last stayed at University House on the grounds of the Australian National University (ANU) in 1976 as a Visiting Fellow. The ambience and the tranquility of University House has not changed much in all those years. There is an attempt to allow residents (guests) to have the space and the amenities of former years. Forty years on it is as if time has stood still. ...

we were pleasantly surprised by this motel. it is evident the rooms have had a recent facelift and they were very pleasant and well presented. the beds were very good quality. best of all the shower was hot and good pressure. i would go get breakfast elsewhere as it is certainly not worth the cost, especially if you like a nice coffee etc...all up though i would not he...

Booked on the day we arrived and rooms were really cheap in comparison to other hotels in Canberra so we weren't sure what to expect. However we Really liked this place. Beds were comfy, rooms were big. Everything was nice and clean and staff were great. Would def stay here again :)

Excellent. Proximity to family made the location perfect. The apartment was spacious and well appointed. The kitchen space was restricted by the awkward placement of fridge, freezer and a convection microwave and I would only rate the kitchen as 3 star. A smaller microwave mounted above the bench with a single fridge freezer and new hotplates would bring it up to 4 sta...

I booked a double and was upgraded to a family room. Found the location ideal for my business use, there was a pub and also one of the best restaurants in the vicinity "ROCKSALT". The restaurant was recommended by the hotel staff. I find myself staying in this location time and again because find it just fits right!

I had a very comfortable stay at the Diamant Hotel and have already recommended it to family members. Its location is excellent, close to the city and the lake and a few minutes drive from Parliament House. Around the corner is a great eatery that unfortunately is only open for breakfast and lunch. I liked the busy and cheerful atmosphere of the hotel's bar, terrace an...

location was really quiet, if you're looking for a quiet place to sleep, this is it. no restaurants within walking distance, but there are many if you drive about 3 minutes. the best thing about the hotel is the service, they always smile and really helpful. hot breakfast was really nice. the only con is the room was small, but they do provide ipod dock.

Honestly we weren’t expecting much given how affordable this place was compared to other hotels on offer in Canberra but we were very surprised. Apartment had everything we needed and much more, was extremely clean and well positioned for Canberra sights and cool Kingston and Manuka. We were very satisfied and wouldn’t hesitate to book here again. Thank you!

Though the website states Northbourne Ave this is only the office management address. The apartment we stayed at was around the corner and about 1km away. Despite this it was just as convenient and quiet for us and we had a great time. The apartment in a residential block was large and well appointed and clean. Only hick up was a pre ordered trundle bed was late in sho...

Beautifully appointed accommodation. Two comfortable bedrooms, one with an ensuite and an extra bathroom. Well appointed apartment, especially kitchen , washing appliances. Clean and welcoming. Only notable complaints are the pillows ( should have brought mine ) the mattress was awkward but really nothing else . Electrical testing and tagging was out of date by 4 months . Being a facilities manager myself I did notify the hotel staff to have it updated . Overall it is...

It was great! We could chill at the living room, great coffee provided, free bottle of wine, wonderful rooms, great bath tub with fancy toiletries. Good value for groups, would have used the kitchen if we had more time. We almost forgot to explore Canberra because we were happy to stay at 'home'. Will be back!

This appartment had a home away from home feel. A great size and had all the basic home like comforts. Great value for money. No reception or contact with anyone at check in. More of an air bnb which suited us fine. Staff easily contactable, clear and easy instructions for check in and out. Would stay again

Brassey Hotel was definitely one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. What they lacked in facilities, they made up for in wonderful service. The hotel is close to the Canberra station (walking distance ~8-10mins) and commutation is very easy. The staff was very helpful, cooperative and polite. The room was great and so were the facilities including casting facility to watch in television. We were very impressed with this experience. You are so well looked after throughout the whole time. You start off with an afternoon tea which is more of a "high tea", very high quality.
