Basilicata hotels & accommodations

a short walk from city center through narrow streets and stairs, the hotel is situated inside the sassi area of Matera.the junior suite was big enough ,well appointed with pieces of furniture both antique and design... breakfast was fine with a good variety of food and beverages and the pool digged inside caves a great place to relax staff is courteous and effi...

Couldn’t think of nicer and more attentive hosts than Marisa and Fernando. They couldn’t do enough to make sure we had a perfect stay. In fact all their staff is extremely nice too. We loved our grotto and the location. Would love ti return with friends and family.

We had a great stay here, everything was really neat in this place, plus it is very well located. The room we have upstairs has incredible view on the Matera old town. Watching sunrise from the little window is simply breathtaking. Cristina was very nice to us and helpful with showing us places to check out around town. We recommend this place 100% and would definitely...

Me and my family were amazed. We travel a lot both work and pleasure but had not experienced anything like this before. I don´t recall me posting photos from hotel rooms before but now I did. Old building is renovated with style and taste. Quiet location but only few steps away from the center of Sassi Di Matera. The owner is amazing and friendly. I truly recommend Cas...

After a very off-putting experience with a receptionist who simply did not want to be bothered, a "can-do" young man appeared on the seen and all was well. It is in the process of combining with another hotel, which led to some confusion. Location is not for a person who as difficulty with stairs. Our room was literally in a split level cave. One of the most distin...

The one good thing about this place is the view. There was no wifi only in the lobby which you don't want.to use because the manager is always smoking. There is no place for miles to find any food so bring your own .also make sure you get a bigger room the standard rooms you can't move in them and no place for luggage and everything in room is broken toilet seat curtai...

Enjoyed 2 nights at the Palace Hotel as a couple. Hotel room is well appointed and maintained very clean. Hotel is situated away from Sassi area but within walking distance; also to local eateries. Ate one night in hotel restaurant - food was very good but 30 euro per head a bit steep. Plenty of onsite parking is available if you are driving as we did. WiFi connection ...

Everything was great except... We booked a room labelled 'Superior Suite (2 Adults)' and asked for twin beds. When we arrived at the hotel, the manager said that we had only booked for one, and charged us an extra 50€, and there were no twin beds. Pretty poor.

We had a happy stay in Basiliani Hotel for 4 nights. The room was big, comfortable and clean. After the check-in, they gave us a city map and drew down some sighseeing paths (very useful!) with very clear explaination. This hotel may look far on the map but in fact some of the must-go-spots are very near it! And the peaceful night / early morning view of the park also...

Owner was helpful in finding out the bus times for me as the train was not running the day I was leaving as it was a public holiday. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Location is great as it is just a few minutes walk to the nearest attraction. Enjoyed my stay.

Rooms are spacious. Staff very helpful and friendly. Plenty of free water and coffee. Extreme very good location. To find place not extremely easy but once you find it is very easy indeed. Parking a bit of challenge but the owner will guide you to a safe and secure parking . 10- 15 minutes walk but not too bad. WiFi didn't work, they were going to sort it out. Finally ...

We had an exceptional stay at Casa Ferri. The apartment is very nice and well equiped, overlooking the sassi area with a wonderfull garden. One of the best location in Matera. Our host was extremely helpfull and passionate with the city history. We would definitely come back at Casa Ferri

The hostel is located in a very good location in MATERA. It is a very good location to explore MATERA. You can feel the atmosphere of good SASSI. Because of ZTL ZONE, parking must be done elsewhere. But Mr. Frank kindly picks us up. And it takes a picture of commemorative photo in a good place. Good location, Friendly Mr. Frank, Accommodation in good mood It was a ...

The stay at this hotel was a real disappointment. For 3 nights we paid CHF 1'040 resp. USD 1'200 (excluding local additional fees) for a single room and a twin room. I asked the hotel a few days in advance, as it was a jubilee trip for my mother to give us two beautiful rooms. The reception is on the 4th floor. Nobody informed we had to pay and have appropriate coints ...

A wonderful B&B centrally located. We received a very friendly welcome after a long day travelling and felt at home. We hope to return another time! When arriving look for the bar in a corner of the piazza and the entrance is just around the corner above it!

The location is near the bus stop of Flixbus, which was the reason of choosing this place. It is still quite a distance from the old town though. The reception is somehow linked to travel agent next door. The staff doesn't really speak english, which is a bit hard to communicate. There is no lift, and we had to climb 3 floors with big backpack. The bathroom is big and ...

Mario is a genuinely hospitable host who runs a squeaky clean place very close to the Sassi but yet secluded from the hordes of travelers. The cafe where he arranges breakfast is also exceptional. I wish there were many Marios around because they honor the hospitality profession.

Vincenzio is a wonderful host, very kind and gave great tips on where to go. My husband & I enjoyed our chats over breakfast. Clean, quiet, modern guest house. Excellent breakfast, very relaxing place to stay. Perfect for exploring and free parking is only street away across the road. Could not fault this place!! Perfect!! Vincenzio works very hard to make sure his gue...

I was traveling alone and Ms Tina has maintained good communication with me throughout the booking. She has written me the clear directions to walk to her place from the train station. I have found no problem in finding it. And she has been waiting right there for me by the time i arrived. She speaks little English but her daughter helped me a lot in translation. I rea...

My husband and I stayed 3 nights there, the owner is very friendly and attentive, room is absolutely clean and tidy, we booked the room with seaview which is great that it will be able to see the sunset. Lots of varieties for breakfast, delicious too, I would highly recommend this place and we will definitely stay there again if we visit Maratea.

The location is beautiful but the house is difficult because the bathroom is several steps outside of the house, difficult to reach for older people. The shower is really tiny and the shower water goes from hot to cold and is hard to adjust. The reception staff, Michel Angrlo, is superbly friendly and helpful.

We truly enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Roberta was a great host - very gracious and always helpful. The room was very clean, modern and had everything that we needed. The breakfast at the restaurant beside it was very good too. I loved their prosciutto and croissants. The location is also very good since it's at the border of the sassi area. If you prefer to stay in ...
