Basque Country hotels & accommodations

I like hotel that doesn't use carpet and has simple design. This hotel fits the bill. Staff was nice. Since my booking didn't include breakfast, the check-in staff promptly asked me if I want to include breakfast for a discounted amount. Bilbao is not a big city and I just walked everywhere. Post office is right on the next block on the right. A few blocks down on the ...

Booked the twin sharing room with sea view, opened up the balcony and there it is La Concha beach in its full glory. It is a beautiful hotel perched along the stretch of La Concha beach easy to walk to the old town on the right and furnicular on the left. The staff was very friendly, allowed us an early room check in, and the cafe downstairs was excellent..some of the ...

Really great hotel in the very best place. A bit problem if you do not want to park a car in the expensive hotel parking. very nice personell will help you with everything you need. Dont book the top rooms, as you have roof windows that are difficult to close and shade.

The hotel was great as I had accidentally booked 4 nights instead of 3 at a non reimbursable rate and they let me cancel the last night free of charge after I contacted Agora to ask if it would be possible. on reception was lovely and changed my room. I had booked a double room thinking I would get a double bed but Agoda had reserved a room with two single beds. The be...

Jon and Sebastián at guest services went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. We were in the Basque region for a gastronomy tour and needed assistant getting to some of the restaurants. They arranged a mix of transportation modes from buses to drivers to minimize cost but maximize our comfort. They even dropped off different little gifts with each note of our r...

This is the tiniest room i have ever stayed in; however, everything was thoughtfully provided and tastefully decorated. For those with a car like me, just drive up to the hotel and the staff will provide a map where to park nearby at only 13 Euros a day with the options to move in and out of the carpark. They will provide an excess card that your slot in upon entry and...

We would for sure stay here again. It was the perfect location for day trips into San Sebastian, and all the other wonderful little towns around the area. Only 10 minute drive to San Sebsatian, or about 12 minutes on the bus. Very clean room, big comfy bed. Wifi works perfectly. Supermarket very close by. Parking out the front was also free and no problem. Nothing to f...

Everything was perfect. At the check-in we got a perfect introduction of the city of Bilbao. Then we entered into our room which was quite and very clean. In the bathroom there was all the necessities (shampoo, tooth brash, shaver, etc.). And the breakfast was extraordinary. We never had a rich buffet like this. And what we also estimated very much that this hotel gav...

Hotel Iturregi is the most beautiful hotel we’ve ever stayed at. You feel at home straight away the place is huge and has stunning gardens and grounds, so much space to relax and enjoy. The pool is beautiful and with so few rooms it doesn’t feel like a hotel but a home away from home (if your home is a Basque mansion) the breakfast is fabulous too- just wish we could h...

Great stay, with cheap accommodation, no frills good staff and the hostel itself was right in the middle of the old town, close to everything, with a good selection of bars right on its doorstep, access can be a bit of a pain as you have to wait till 2pm to even gain access but everything else was good.

Very quite location and Conveniet for the beach lovers... a bit away from the old city center but it is a lovely walk. I got a Toilet very tiny but was clean.. As an old building, there is 10-12 step to make with your luggage, before reach the elevator.

This was our second stay at this hotel. The area it is located in (Antiguo) has it's share of nic shops, cafes and bars. It is close to the beach promenade. The city is very accessible from here. Parking is challenging as the entrance is narrow, but if you are lucky the hotel staff will park your car for you.

The room was very clean and fresh smelling. There is no safe in the room but valuables can be locked up at reception. Location is excellent. Very close to most attractions. The staff went out of their way to assist me, on several occasions . I would definitely stay here again.

Artistic decorations in a prime location. Very clean facilities with a helpful manager. Just beware that it doesn't have a 24 -hour receptionist. You need to have a telephone to call them upon arrival to be let in (problematic for foreign tourists whose phones don't work in Spain). You are given a door code to let yourself in the building.
Cheap places to stay in Basque Country

Our room was with the street view and it was so nice, there is a free breakfast and very near the bus station. But in San Seb, it is all about walking since the establishments are near. Our room was modern, new, clean and minimalist, a basic need for every traveller. We are happy with our room and stay.

Great location near the Guggenheim museum.Hostel had more of a hotel feel. Dorms are new with comfortable beds and clean crisp linen. Ensuite bathrooms clean with plentiful hot water. Kitchenette great but could do with a hotplate! Above all the staff are excellent,in particular David the manager. Highly recommended

I've stayed in several hostel's and this is definitely one of the better ones I've gotten to be at. The staff is amazing, so genuinely kind. The location is PERFECT. I highly recommend splurging a little and making this your hostel during your stay at San Sebastián.

We were really pleased with our decision to stay at Off Beat. As a couple, we had the queen room which was styled in shabby chic, much like a calm yet upmarket hotel room. Though we had a shared bathroom, the facilities were always clean and available. The complimentary Breakfast is a great touch with a lovely selection of fruits and continental, with great tea and co...

Not quite a hostel but not quite a hotel. Staff was amazing. Rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. However, the walls are pretty thin. There are quite a few bars nearby (awesome) but I was kept up by a mass exodus of people leaving the bars around 1-2 during the weekdays I was there- bring earplugs and you're golden.

Great little place if you are looking for something affordable and close to the beach. The host is very accommodating, and the beds were very comfortable. It's a bit noisy at times and not a lot of natural night, but we're talking about a 1 star place here people. Just across the road from the great Geralds Bar

The service was excellent. Mikel the caretaker was warm and hospitable. Great views from the room. Rooms were very clean and well decorated; moreover the beds were very comfy. Rustic feel was authentic. Extremely value for money. Breakfast was included with our stay. Highly recommended to all travellers!

When you 1st arrive the hotel looks awful, but once inside, it is very modern with electronic card security throughout. It has a lift, large modern bedroom with lounge alcove, a large bathroom with toiletries, heating in both rooms, 2 chairs, table, large very comfortable double bed & a large flat screen TV with at least 5 channels in English. The staff are very friend...

agoda booked 2 double rooms for me instead of one triple room that i requested, at this hotel. that added to my accommodation cost without due notice. however, happy with adjoining rooms arranged by hotel operators. loved the peace & quiet that we were looking for.

Javier made sure check-in was easy and pleasant. There is no staff on duty at night. That was ok for us. We just made sure we had our keys when we went out. The location is nice, just outside the old city. Plenty of food nearby to eat. Food is not availabe at the hotel. The hotel is perfect if you're just looking for a place to sleep and shower. Parking is either on...

If you want to be in the center of it all, this Pension is a great spot. It is surrounded by some of the best pintxo spots and as a bonus, my room had a balcony from which I could see the ocean. Shared bathrooms are kept clean. The room was large and comfortable. The only negative are the thin walls between the rooms and that the pension is not staffed for a big part o...

The room was very clean and fresh smelling. There is no safe in the room but valuables can be locked up at reception. Location is excellent. Very close to most attractions. The staff went out of their way to assist me, on several occasions . I would definitely stay here again.

This is probably the best value hotel I've ever stayed in. The staff are very helpful and customer service overall was wonderful. Rooms are modern and clean. Location in Gros is convenient and easy to reach on foot from public transport or just by walking. Highly recommended!

I would stay here again on a heart- beat. The property kept in constant contact with me for days prior to my arrival. Although reception usually closes at 6, the most delightful Beatriz waited to greet me at 9.30 pm as my train arrived lavish from Santiago de Compostela. I have never felt so welcome after a long day. Beatriz was still bubbly after the day's work, sh...

Nothing special about this property. Standard NH quality. You can book in peace knowing that it will not be awful nor exciting. Reception staff needs more training on how to be pleasant to guests, particularly one of the old bat. The wifi is very bad.

An excellent hotel, modern and well cared for. The bed was very comfortable. Dinner in the cafeteria was unremarkable, very poor choice unless you wanted a burger. Breakfast was excellent with a huge selection on offer. Would recommend but eat dinner elsewhere.

This place gets the highest rating of any place I have ever stayed at. 10/10 for everything. 1. Right in the centre of town. Good views from the balcony. 10 mins walk to Guggenheim. 15 mins walk to train station. Small supermarket just down the road. 2. Apartments on 6th floor so above street noise when you are out on the balcony. 3. Fully outfitted kitchenette with mi...

I stayed in 5 hotels on a trip to basque country recently. this one was in a beautiful location on top of a hill overlooking the bay. it's a short walk down the hill to a lovely beach and pinxtos on one side or a longer walk/hike to another more remote beach on the other side. in a car, both are accessible in 10 min. the property is very clean and modern and is ...

We have recently retuned from a weekend break at this hotel and would have no problem recommending it to others. It is well located for all Bilbao has to offer.Appropriately priced for the facilities available,it is clean and well maintained throught out. The proximity to the river and the board walks to the old town and the Gugg are a welcome benefit for a stay here....

Hotel Villa Soro is a very nice and quiet hotel located a few kilometers away from the old San Sebastian. We stayed there for three nights. The bedroom we had was in the backyard's exoansion and was large by European standards. The bed was ok. The service was nice and efficient and the breakfast was nice. This hotel lent us bicycles so we toured San Sebastian on t...

Loved it. Modern and attentive service, the best location in town, plus all the old style charm and charatcer of a old style great hotel. Loved every minute of our stay, and the help from the staff was greatly appreciate given multiple languages spoken in this area.

Walkable to most places; Guggenheim, old town and shopping areas. Though the street is quiet, within 1 minute, you can reach the essential tourist areas; eateries, shops, supermarket, grocers and train station. Room is spacious; no nasty noises at night. Bed is super comfortable. I managed to park my car at a public lot like 70m from the hotel. In August, all street pa...
