Camiguin Province hotels & places to stay

We stayed for 3 nights. We were a large group with kids. Booking with Agoda was quick and smooth. The resort itself is a dreamland. POSITIVES: 1. location- beach and swimming pool. In sight the white island. Backdraft the volcano. 2. swimming pool- facing the beach, cleaned daily. 3. rooms- spacious with no mosquitoes 4. restaurant- will cook your food for 100 pesos. Closes at 10 pm. 5. access- accessible when you make it as a base to visit sights 6. staff- friendly, courteous, attentive, 7. lenient- you and kids can swim overnight, drink with friends outside accommodation NEGATIVES- 1. beach- got corals, not suitable without crocs. But locals locals were saying that this is the most sandy beachfront. The rest of the resorts are rocky. this is Camiguin afterall. 2.no cooking facilities- you can use their BBQ grill but you can't cook. 150/day chrage for your own rice cooker. OVERALL, our best holiday thus far.

The Resort is located five to ten minutes from Mambajao, the center of Camiguin, where numerous restaurants and souvenir shops can be found. It is also near the Sunken Cemetery, Walkway to the Old Volcano, Gui-ob Church Ruins and the jump-off point to the White Island. We were informed that the hotel started operations only in Jan. 2013, which meant that everything was new. Upon arriving, we were greeted by the German owner who manages the place. I admire her hospitality as she made us fell very welcome. She expedited our check-in and instructed her assistant to carry our bags. We booked an Ocean View Villa. There were only two in the whole resort, which meant that it was also the most expensive. But I must say that it is well worth the price! We were greeted by a lovely view of the Bohol Sea, which can be seen from any part of room due to huge floor-to-ceiling glass panels. The villa also had its own private terrace with a hammock and a sitting area where guests can enjoy the view of the sunset over a cup of hot chocolate and some Vjandep Pastel. Take note that the villa is not air-conditioned. We were hesitant at first, but it was probably the best decision we made! The eaves of the villa were open. Hence, the sound of the waves hitting against the rocks became our night's lullaby and the ocean breeze relieved us of the city stress. For the record, it was chilly especially at night! The four-poster bed had nets, which not only repelled insects but added to the romantic atmosphere of the place. And the bamboo shades and linen curtains ensured ample privacy. The restaurant serves a mix of Western and local dishes. Although quite expensive, the servings were good for two. The restaurant also has a bar where guests can lounge about. It is a good place to interact with others and is conducive to chill the night away. Overall, our experience there definitely made our Camiguin trip a really memorable one. I already miss the place!

The last time I was in Camiguin was probably 25 years ago... Its best to bring your car if you have a family as its more convenient to go place to place. Place location is absolutely great.... If you have kids with you, the place is great for kids since it has a pool... There are a lot of activity like cold spring / hot spring / falls and other scenic views you can go within Camiguin. Just remember to bring some cash as the place and food do cost a bit. I am a food lover and I have to say that food sold locally specially at the Cold Spring (vendors selling outside) area are way better than the Hotel... Other than that.. Paras Beach Resort is an OK place to stay for a good rest and security... food is meh though....

Stayed here in February, 2018 with my girlfriend Dindin in a Beachfront cottage. Beautiful cottage with large parch with seating and table for 4, light and power outlet. 20m to the beach and views of White Island. Large room with king bed and beautiful bamboo furniture, cable TV and good WIFI. Door and windows have screens for insects, so you can open the windows and turn on the ceiling fan for a sea breeze cooled room at night and you can hear the gentle ocean waves. If that’s not cold enough for you, you can use the modern AC with remote control. Bathroom is huge with an excellent shower. Location is excellent, with the entrance on the main circumference road which only has very light traffic. Stores, restaurants and bars within walking distance or you can get a tricycle for very cheap rates. Staff were brilliant, very friendly and helpful. They have top quality scooters for rent at very reasonable rates but I forgot my license, so I could not rent one. Make sure you bring your license as the main road is excellent, helmets are mandatory and people drive very sensibly. Camiguin is beautiful with so much to see and do. If you are looking for a decent, on-budget, peaceful place to stay in Camiguin, this is your fave pick. We didn't expect that we could spend a night in there, travel hours were underestimated. So we booked it through Agoda without any lavish expectations because the hotel cost cheap. Our group just needed a place to stay warm in the night. When we got there, I'm a bit disappointed for behind the rusty red gate is an old house partly cement and wood. So I thought to myself, oh well, it's only for one night.Upon entering the gate, I was surprised that someone is repeatedly saying 'Hello' in a robotic voice. Then I noticed a big black cage hanging in a tree branch with a black bird inside. I was delighted for it's my first time to hear a parrot talking! On the other hand, the staff were taken aback for they didn't expect us but they gladly welcomed our company. Then, they led us to the back of the house where the rooms are located. It's not that fancy but very inviting to sit down in the cottage and do some music jamming. So overall, I like the place, my friends do too! The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Not to mention, we were served a healthy and satisfying breakfast. If I'll go back to Camiguin, this is definitely the place that I want to stay in again. Congrats and Kudos to the staff! :)

The name speaks for itself, as it nestled at the foot of Mt Hibok Hibok with spectacular view of the mountain & an elevated glimpse of the sea. Our recent stay with The View has been one of the best company outing accommodation we had in years. Value for money is a primary factor, given that we have limited budget at the same time a few heads to please. But almost everyone approves and gave a thumbs up for this small 6 bedroom hotel in Mambajao, Camiguin. We literally booked the whole place, as 4 people comfortably occupied their very huge (too big for 4 in fact) suites. Breakfast is good but a bit pricey for its quality. The location is also near Ardent Hot Spring (a 1.5km walk), White Island and Sunken Cemetery, so scheduling a quick visit is good especially if you have very limited time left. What made our stay even hassle free is the very hospitable assistance of Ms. May. She gave us itinerary suggestions & was very attentive to our group's needs. Though the place is very new, they said it's the first phase of their development. I do hope they can add more facilities like pool, full functioning bar or a 24/7 convenience store in the future. They have a billiard table but nothing else to do after your day trip and buying something like drinks or snacks is quite difficult after 8pm. It's a long walk & a motorcycle drive to the town with only few stores open at wee hours. Nonetheless, we will definitely recommend this place to anyone planning to visit Camiguin!

This place reminds me of somewhere in Europe. This little boutique hotel with friendly staff and provide a butler in our room is a luxury experience for us. I highly recommend this place if you want a quite, away from the crowd kind of vacation. The view is worth a lot. Bintana Sa Paraiso is the best resort in Camiguin Island. Salamat sa Best Pancakes in Camiguin Island it is fluffy and fresh brewed coffee daily. The place is not cheap but so worth it. I enjoyed my time with my butler. we are a couple celebrating our first anniversary in Camiguin. We chose Highlands on the net as we want a quite place located on the upper part of the province. The experience was truly memorable. Nice garden landscape, swimming pool when we arrive was not that clean but it is understandble since rain poured out that early morning so hard. We had a great night sleep as the place is really quite.Food was great too and staff are friendly. Picking lanzones fruits at the back of the hotel was a great experience as well. Since it is not yet harvest time, we only pick enough to satisfy our taste buds. We will definitely go back should God allows.

do yourself a HUGE FAVOR and book this resort... We spent 7 days in Camiguin and this resort was only available during the first 4 nights, so we ended up visiting ~15 top rated resorts in Camiguin – and I can tell you that: Jerome’s place is BY FAR the best one there. First, he has only 3 villas in this little heaven he built there, and they are all very well designed up to the tiniest details – the huge comfortable bad, the interior design, the double bad terrace surrounded by a beautiful garden, the luxurious showers. The breakfast is freshly made and served to your room whenever you want it to. PERFECTION. The place itself is one big garden with coconut trees and a beautiful pool just next to the sea. Second, and the most important thing in our opinion – Jerome is not just the landlord there, he’s your friend. He picked us up from the airport, explained us what we can do in Camiguin, where to go and where to eat. Did I mention PERFECTION??? We love you Jerome.

after a a few weeks travelling we lucked out and booked this place as we were a family group of 12 at Christmas time. There is a really friendly couple who run this place, and the English influence was a nice surprise, we genuinely had the best fish and chips we've had in ages - better than back home! they were flexible with breakfast needs and had a great selection of food, something for everyone. I think this was probably our best value for money stay and would stay there again if I return to Camiguin.

The hotel was a nice place to stay. It is very close to Yumbing and to the boat station that will take you to White Island. I highly recommend the place if you know how to drive a motorbike as getting to and from the hotel to other parts of Camiguin in the evening would be very difficult as there are no more motorelas after 7PM. The staff were very helpful and would assist you in any questions or concerns that you may have. The room was above average though the WIFI was not that reliable (which is ok given that Camiguin is an island and getting a wifi or an LTE connection is really difficult).

Guerrera maintains only 3 rooms so Mark and Chef Carmel's accommodation to guests are very personalized. We stayed in the only room that has a view of the sea so we sat at the porch and watched the sea during our free time. White Island seemed just a stone throw away from the porch. Also, having an authentic Asian Restaurant within the compound is very convenient. You don't have to go far to find the best food to eat in Camiguin because Chef Carmel and her cousin Jay make and serve them.

Our stay at D&A was fantastic. The owners Dave and Annie did everything in their power to make us feel at home. We were given a free upgrade to a cottage on our arrival as we were the only guests there. The lagoon next to the hotel is up there with the best snorkelling on all of camiguin!! Best place to stay if you are not too rushed for time. If we ever return to camiguin we will head straight back do D&A. The backpackers room is one of the best-value-for-money accommodations in Camiguin. The shared bathrooms are no hassle at all since only very few rooms share the bathrooms and they are always cleaned (bathrooms run regular water, no hot showers). Room price can't be beat and the rooms are directly by the beachfront! Wonderful staff, very friendly and helpful! Make sure to order the Filipino sashimi i.e. 'Kinilaw' from the hotel restaurant, it is the best on the island and always fresh!

My boyfriend and I spent 6 days on Camiguin Island. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great, but the resort really made the difference: Ilenia & Stefano (the owners) together with the rest of the staff are really friendly and always ready to help, the cottages and huts are lovely, the garden is as close to heaven as you can get, breakfasts and dinners are homemade and food tastes delicious, they rent out motorbikes that you can comfortably ride around the island. We loved our stay in Camiguin...such an unspoilt little island with friendly and smiley people, fun activities and nice food. We suggest this destination to anyone who is willing to have a less touristic experience. If you travel there, don't miss Nypa Style Resort...you won't be disappointed!

The location is really really good. Very near the airport. Just take a motorella ride from the airport to the market for 8 pesos and it's just walking distance from there, you can ask the locals for directions. The staff is accommodating and the best part is that early check in allowed. Two thumbs up! The room is not the best but it's not that bad. Just enough for what you're paying. Wifi doesn't reach the rooms though, you have to go to the lobby area. Overall, I am satisfied. Will stay here again in my next trip to Camiguin.

The place itself is beautiful and very spacious. Booked the studio type, room 9 with a double bed, kitchenette, fridge, couch, and bathroom. The location was around 5 minutes from the airport but accessible to everything else. Overall, can't complain about the place especially for the value. One disappointment was that our PAL flight got cancelled and couldn't make it that day. Originally booked for 2 nights and messaged Kenny right away if we will be charged on the 1st night. They were kind enough to leave the key in the room so when we arrived at 6:30 AM the next morning, we were able to get in, leave our stuff, and cover as much places as we can in Camiguin before our flight out at 11:20 AM the next day. Unfortunately, we were still charged the 1 night we weren't able to stay. Definitely a bummer. Overall, the place is wonderful. Too nice to only stay overnight and not take advantage of the facilities and amenities.

It may feel like a long drive going there straight from Benoni Port, but you'll get used to it. Ate Mercel , the main caretaker of the cottages was very friendly, accommodating and helpful with everything. The rooms were exactly as advertised and were spotless. Hot water works fine. No cable channels and the pocket WIFI doesn't work. But we didn't mind because we got to enjoy the outside esp during sunrise and sunset, when it's perfect to go on a swim or drink coffee and enjoy the breeze, while looking at the beach on one side or the mountain on the other. They don't offer breakfast but there is a common kitchen and an open dining area. There's also an area you can hang your wet clothes to dry. There are only 3 cottages and we were lucky enough to be the only ones booked at the time so we had the whole place to ourselves. Definitely a great place to stay when you're in Camiguin! Special thanks to Karen, for allowing us to reschedule when we couldn't make it due to a tropical storm.

The only down side with this place is that there's no signal(in case of emergency that you need to go to a hospital) and the location is on top of a mountain so you need to bring food. But other than that, it was a perfect place to unwind. The architectural design of the house was well thought of. They have a cat named gwapa, horse, chickens and 3 dogs and were all friendly. We will definitely comeback!

This is a relaxing place to stay in Camiguin with your family or group of friends --- excellent when it comes to cleanliness and amenities, with friendly staff. The owner of the place was very responsive to my queries even before I made my final booking. She also facilitated some of our requests like transportation within Camiguin (providing us also with a friendly and conscientious driver, Kuya Cris), food, and other information. You might find the location a bit remote, but it is a respite from the hustle and bustle of the urban jungle. The place is surrounded by trees, mountains, and sea. There are three rooms. Inside the main house, the bathroom and the toilet are separate, which can save you time especially if you are a group of more than 3. There is another bathroom/toilet outside, beside the dirty kitchen. Towels and linens are clean. Kitchen utensils and small appliances are available. Staff are accommodating and easy to deal with. I highly recommend this place!

Of my month touring around the Philippines, the best accommodation I received was from the Yellow House. Nena and Manilyn truly went above and beyond to make my experience in Camiguin exceptional. The included breakfast was delicious and they also made me supper every night for a very resonable rate and I thoroughly enjoyed ever meal. Nena was wonderful at answering my many questions and I loved learning about life in the Philippines through her eyes. The high quality staff, rooms, and food makes the price you pay.incredibly fair - if you choose to stay here, you will not be disappointed!

Value for money 11/10 we stayed at the master bedroom! Location 8/10 it’s 10-15 mins from the airport via motorbike. Go home before 6pm, it gets real dark! I was scared as hell when we went home at around 7:30pm lol Cleanliness 10/10 the staff are there from 8-5 they’re constantly cleaning the place. Ask manong for brewed coffee! Staff 10/10 very accommodating! And hospitable Facilities 15/10 Not your typical hotel... it’s home. Recommended!!! This is gonna be my forever place to stay when in camiguin. Also, ask manong for motorbike rental. He knows people who could give you discount haha

Most stylish hotel in Camiguin. The island is beautiful and mostly untouched, so go now. This hotel might be the closest thing to world-class. Nice pool. Cool rooms, fairly alright service. Some mosquito problems at night. Food at resto can be hit or miss--stick to Filipino or Asian choices as Western offerings are not too well made. Still, a very good choice for Camiguin.

We were amazed that the room is spacious, clean, good air condition, very comfortable and soft bed for a very cheap price. The owner are very welcoming and helpful. They even let us check in earlier without additional charge and made us delicious breakfast upon arrival. Imagine we arrived there 7 am. They let us stay in their sala for the meanwhile while waiting for the room to be ready. They have good staff and people who will arrange everything you need for your whole stay. You can call them anytime. The best thing about their staff is they are honest. Like when we went in ardent hotspring, my boyfriend gave 400 pesos to the driver for staying and waiting for us while we were swimming, he returned the 200 pesos because the 400 pesos is just too much as what he said. I mean, we never encountered such type of person who will return the excess amount specially in tourist area. I am so glad that I booked this place and have cancelled the earlier hotel we booked which is 5 times more expensive than this. The place is very near to the White Island. We saved a lot. This is the best place to stay in Camiguin without spending too much money. More power to the staff and the owner. This is very much recommended :)
