Canary Islands Autonomous Community hotels & accommodations

We were first put into an apartment right in the middle of the seating area of a bar, however as it was late when we arrived we decided to ask for a move the following day. The lady on reception was very kind and found us a room in block c away from the bars which we moved to once we had paid 30 euros for the staff to clean the room which we had slept in for the night...

We were pleasantly surprised by the facilities and friendliness of this hotel. I would not recomend for anyone with walking difficulties as its situated in a very hilly area. The restaurant was amazing in both quality and price and would highly recommend. Only downside is the fact that there was no cleaning done or towel changes during the week we were there. This ha...

Liked the free shuttle to the beaches and has a good choice of pools and gym / activities area. Great location for the Yumbo centre at night. Hotel building is a bit dated but rooms are nice inside and modern. Food selection at the buffet was just average with nothing special. And we got a great price for half board for Winter Pride week really so can't complain.

Anthelia has a commanding location, huge and well kept communal area, excellent dining facilities. The staff is very friendly and responsive. Two things, though, prevent me from recommending this hotel. One is ridicules, if irritating: doors to shower and toilet are very badly designed. The shower door lets a lot of water into the main area, even if you try hard to avo...

Booked this Hotel as a last minute break over the Easter Holidays, and upon arrival was greeted by a very pleasant friendly receptionist called Loreta. We had booked a Superior Studio and upon check in we were upgraded to a 1 bedroom pool view apartment which set the holiday off to a great start. The apartments are spotless and very spacious and the views of the Large ...

Apartment was clean and comfortable, and cleaned daily. Towels provided could be better. Basically varying shades of brown towel which smelt like they could have been washed more thoroughly. Pools were great as were the staff. Gym leaves a lot to be desired. Staff at the poolside bar are very friendly and it is open from early morning to late evening. Some areas around...

This hotel is spotlessly clean and the Staff are so helpful and friendly! It is situated just off the promenade between Costa Adeje and Playa de Americas - perfect! We received champagne and strawberries for our wedding anniversary! Will definitely be back!

Aesthetically, this is a very nicely designed resort and one of the most beautiful we saw during our month in the Canaries. Staff were great and friendly, from the front desk people right down to the chambermaids. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but advise that guests avoid taking a room on the east corner of the complex near the water because of the stench that freque...

The hotel is just off the las canteras beach promenade. Although I had booked an interior apartment, I didn't rue it as the weather was very windy and cloudy during my stay( I visited in January). I would however recommend a sea facing apartment during a more sunnier time. The apartment itself was clean, fully equipped and well maintained. We were surprised by the att...

I spent a week in Lanzarote staying at Casa Tomaren. It is located away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist traps yet only 15 minutes drive to Arrecife the capital, and only 15 euros by taxi if you like me don't drive. Most of the other guests had hired a car. I'd say it was the perfect combination of tranquillity and easy access to amenities. The room was beauti...

Just a couple of minus points, 1 The price for use of the safe in the room was over two euros per day, I thought I must be buying it. 2 At breakfast time there was the constant noise of the crockery being handled behind the screens in the restaurant. 3 Information about the Star club was not clearly displayed or understood without asking one of the Star club personnel....

All the staff were delightful from the reception to the waiters and the bar staff at the pool bar and the clubhouse. The complex is very clean and the pools are very nice. Our one bedroom apartment was a little dated as far as the decor goes, but very comfortable with a good bathroom and shower, great beds and a huge patio with table, chairs and a parasol as well as ...

Great hotel, really comfortable rooms , 3 heated swimming pools Down side music played rather loud at every pool , could do with a quiet area , plenty of sun beds and Brolleys No drinking water provided in our room Little bit out of the way but there is a nice walk way with a few bars and restaurant s outside

I have visited many hotels around the world and Jardin Tropical will be in my Top 5. The hotel has beautiful design and decor, very elegant and modern with Caribbean vibe. I felt more like in Cancun than Tenerife. Gorgeous pools at the hotel and the other pool just beside the ocean. Smoothie bar, cocktail bars, great restaurants with healthy and modern delicious menus....

Excellent Location. Beach is on your doorstep. Bars and restaraunts are 5mins walk away. The hotel only has a few small bars outside so its fairly quiet at night so ideal for small children sleeping at night. The hotel is spotless. Rooms cleaned daily. Towels refreshed daily if you want. Always clearing the tables and plates in the restaraunt. Staff, especially recep...

We both were extremely happy with our stay in the hotel. The location is amazing and they have the most helpful staff ever (they gave us amazing recommendations and directions, even helped us to rent a car). Clean rooms and amazing rooftop terrace. They gave us a discount in a nearby restaurant which has nice fresh fish and buffet breakfast. Definetely would go back an...

Will start with the things that need to be improved : Ordered a Greek yogurt from the room-service menu. It was a very nice bombastic description... And to my big surprise, a half a Euro plastic yogurt from the supermarket came. And the price was 8.50 Euros !! Sent it back to where it came for, refused to accept it !!! When I called the room-service to order food, was...

Best option in this area with everything you might need within walking distance (although hilly). There are bars cafes restaurants supermarkets cash machines money exchanges taxis and buses. The pool bar serves a good selection of snacks. There's not a lot to amuse older kids - best for older couples or families with young children. The apartments are spacious and clea...

The hotel is situated on the head land at the top of the resort so it was a bit windy some days, but itwas February. It is about 10-15 mins walk into resort centre depending on route you take. The pool bar is cheap and does good snackes and breakfasts. All the staff are friendly and can give good advice about the island.

This hotel is showing its age and very tired in places - however to be fair the management are aware of this and there is a refurbishment programme planned. This has now started much to our annoyance on the rooms below ours and a new gym area. Further work ongoing during winter closure. There is however a sewage smell in various areas around this facility - we moved ro...

Budget hotel, situated in a narrow street, close to the port, shopping zones, bars, restaurants, tram lines and bus routes 910 & 914. Best for guests who are using public transport, as car owners would have difficulty in securing a parking spot. Staff are very friendly & helpful. I would stay here again if I were to return to Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Ingo was a perfect host, he was very easy going and made us feel so relaxed and comfortable staying at The Inn. The cleaning lady was really lovely and does such a thorough job. Early morning yoga on the terrace and an early evening glass of wine on the terrace were truly memorable moments during our stay.

The hostel is building other facilities it means that you have much noise at day and a lot of dust everywhere (floor and walls). Moreover the people responsible for the cleaning are not professionnals but foreigner students and you can tell it's not their job. The cleaning was average, not made everyday. Also Employees were putting clean sheets and covers on the floor ...

The staff are really friendly and helpful and it's good to be able to cook and use the kitchen when you need. I'd recommend the airport transfer service because the taxi drivers in las palmas are a#*holes and this guy is polite and it's cheaper! Las palmas is great for a more authentic Spanish holiday, we loved it. The only down side is our bed was very soft so It sor...

I have stayed at the Chinyero many times, it is ideally located not far from the centre, the rooms are a good size and clean enough. If you are lucky you can get a room with a garden outside your balcony. There is a little bar cafe outside the hotel and it serves cheap drinks and reasonably priced food. Walk down the hill and you're in the middle of the centre. Would s...

Not a bad stay at all,but at times a noisy one. Surrounding swimming pools with pool bar and hotel staff across the road managed to produce a fair amount of noise at all times. On top of that, the road, just about 15 meters from the hotel, has a lot of traffic. We also experienced a Spanish twelve-men stag party, but then that could happen in any place. Check-in was als...

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure to meet Carmen and stay in her beautiful, elegant house. We were so grateful for her warmth, and friendliness. She sat us down to give her recommendations for dining and touring. Her house is easy to find, very close to public transit, and dead center of a great location. The bathrooms and showers were only a brief walk from our ...

When we arrived at the hotel and announced we had reservation, the reception man said the hotel was fully booked. This was a surprise for us as that evening we booked the room(ca 2 hours before arrival) the hotel own webpage, Booking and Agoda offered 4 rooms of the type we chose. Apparently, the hotel manager forgot to remove this offer on time. After showing the rese...

Had a fantastic stay here. Although it is called a Hostel, you get your own room. At the same time, the shared kitchen, lounge area and balcony means that you get to hang out with fellow travelers (if you want to), chat and exchange tips. Alfredo, the owner, is a really lovely and helpful person who speaks German, English and Spanish and comes every day to clean the ba...

The accommodation is just a few dozen meters from the city's beach Las Canteras , close to many restaurants, cafes, shops, bakeries etc. Cleanly, equipped kitchen, refrigerator, washing machine for a fee. The accommodation has a table, a TV and area for a shared seating with a functional wi-fi.

This hotel is a very basic guesthouse and probably the cheapest option on the island of Lanzarote. This means you can t expect luxury...anyway altough the rooms are dark and very basic you get free wireless internet and a very friendly staff that helps you with all your questions.

Our stay was extremely peaceful and all of our needs were met. The pool is large and lovely and there weren't many people around. This is definitely a spot to go with your loved one. You will need a car or to take cabs up and down the mountain as there really isn't anything at the top near the hotel. You can walk down but the walk up might be considered more of a h...

Very impressed with this hotel. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff were very helpful. It is a all-inclusive hotel but we were just bed and breakfast. We were offered to change our board status but they were very accommodating for non all-inclusive guests. You can't buy food in the hotel during the day if you are not all-inclusive but offer frui...

If you are looking for a good quality (adult only)hotel (4 star), with air conditioning throughout then the Neptuno is well recommended. The buffet meals are of very high quality and the staff provide superb, friendly service in all departments. The rooms are well furnished with mini-bar, tea & coffee making facilities, flat screen TVs with some English chanels and c...

I would have liked tea / coffee making facility in rooms. It will cost pennies for Hotel to provide complimentary bottles of drinking water considering islands hot climate. Gym looked very tired and dirty however I understand that excercise may be on everyone's priority list.

Busy period, some days lines to get into the breakfaast and dinner area, but good food, and variation of it. Spa-area nice, even if the pools where to cold. For the pool-area, there where no sun-beds left in the sun after 9 am, all "pre-booked"even if that was not permitted (-). We where unlucky with a brooken refrigirator the first night of arrival, even the next day ...

Very nice staff, genuinely helpful, nicely designed hotel, good vibes. The only thing I would add is that maybe they could've added some candles on the tables, just a few small details to make it even more homely. But apart from that, it was a great choice!

We enjoyed our 3 night stay here. The staff were very helpful, the room spotlessly clean and had a good view of the city and the coast from the 6th floor. The elevators travel on the outside of the building giving a splendid view of your surrounds through glasss backed windows. One item I would like to se added to the room is coffee and tea facility in the room! This I...

We enjoyed our stay. We had a nice room with nice views. We had problems with our hot water on our last day but we were given access to another bathroom to shower. Food can be repetitive but there are plenty of restaurants around the area to eat at.

Stayed here with my wife for three nights while attending The Scorpions concert in the city. I honestly cannot fault any aspect of the Iberia, it is very clean, quiet and there are plenty of restaurants to cater for all tastes a short walk away. Would definately stay here again.

I've stayed here a few times on my way in and out of work. Recommend booking a sea view terrace room as these overlook Las Canteras beach and the terraces are a great spot to chill out with a drink or two. Rooms are pretty decent with comfortable beds and good wifi. The breakfasts here aren't bad either. There's a taxi rank just outside so no issues getting one to g...

We were here at our honeymoon and there was some mistake with the reservation, so we had the longest check-in... But they were kind enough to upgrade ! us to an incredible suite So that totally compensated and made our staying there devine... Two small downsides: 1. Not enough elevators... not a biggy 2. The parking of the hotel is pricy and it was full so they le...

The hotel was lovely. Staff were very helpful. I found the food in the restaurant was of a high standard. There was more choice of food in the afternoon. Some nights the selection of food wasn't the best. There was a Chinese night on Tuesday and the food was excellent. The deserts were beautiful. The breakfast was excellent. You had a good choice of hot or cold food. ...

We spent a couple of days at Hotel Catalonia and where pleased with the standard of the room (superiour ocean view) as well as the hotels location near the old downtown area of Puerto de la Cruz. Black beach is within walking distance, large sea-waterpool facilities just across the street and the hotel has its own garden-surounded pool as well

Facilities are genuinely 5 star, in particular the pools and sun lounging areas. Staff attitide is excellent. Poolside food and drinks could be improved on but it would not put us off going back to this hotel. Al la carte restaurant is excellent Best location if you want to avoid the tacky side of Las Americas.

Great hotel to enjoy swimming pools, especially the biggest infinity pool in Europe. Red Level option will give you more privacy and assurance you will not spend your vacations surrounded by children, which we enjoyed. Hotel rooms are comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Staff is attentive and friendly. Hotel also offers various activities and its choice of facilit...

Coming in Tenerife in february was an initial shock having the sensation of arriving in a ghetto of senior people (90% of tourists in the island?) but the hotel soon made us feel comfortable because it provides ample place to be alone with the person you care for. We were not fans of the common areas's design (lack of subtlety) but the rooms where extremely convenient ...

The hotel is beautiful clean and friendly staff . We stayed in a prestige apartment with a patio and sun beds directly out onto the pools . This part of the hotel is quiet and peaceful an ideal relaxing getaway . There are also family areas in the hotel with fun pools and activities . Plenty for everyone . The beach a very short walk away is lovely to swim in and safe...

Excelant Hotel , The lack of English Television, B B C was a disappointment. The international language is English, we host teachers from all over the world ( Including the Canary Islands)to learn English. There were six German T V channels Also Internet was a problem.. We will returne

We stayed at this hotel on a bed and breakfast basis for a week in September. The room was spacious and comfortable and kept spotlessly clean. The breakfast was first class every day. You walk in and it’s a five star hotel , beautiful reception attentive staff . Then the hike to the junior suite, what a disappointment. Everything you would want apart from wardrobe space. And very minimalistic. Great Nespresso coffee machine pity it didn’t reach the plug socket so had to make coffee on the floor!! Breakfast buffet vast choice but with 100 s of other...

Hotel and facilities are 5*. If you want relaxation and wellness than this is the only place to stay in Corralejo. The hotel is definitely catered to a much older guest. Myself and my partner (both under 35) felt at times made to feel very unwelcomed by other guests, we just put this down to incorrect presumptions being made on their part, assuming we were there to par...

Whilst a nice hotel with charming staff, it seems designed for only those who are retired. The dining rooms in the hotel are expensive and not of a good quality for what you are paying. The gardens are beautiful as is the spa but there is limited availability on anything you may want and the gym is sparse at best.

Two adults with one toddler, we had a great time, the staff were really nice, the hotel was perfect for our needs. Swimming pool and a playground and an indoor softplay/creche absolutely amazing for young children, buffet food was a good standard (the a la carte restaurant menu looked really good too), a small minimart in the hotel for the essentials, and a short walk ...

Discover the Allure of the Canary Islands
The Canary Islands, a stunning archipelago off the northwest coast of Africa, are a true paradise for travelers seeking sun, adventure, and relaxation. With their diverse landscapes, ranging from volcanic mountains to golden beaches, each island offers a unique experience that captivates visitors. Whether you’re lounging on the sun-kissed shores of Playa del Duque or exploring the rugged terrain of Teide National Park, the islands promise a delightful escape from the ordinary.
Each of the seven main islands—Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma, La Gomera, and El Hierro—boasts its own charm and attractions. Tenerife, the largest island, is home to Spain's highest peak, Mount Teide, which offers breathtaking views and a chance to explore unique volcanic landscapes. Gran Canaria, often referred to as a miniature continent, features diverse microclimates and beautiful beaches, making it perfect for sunbathers and adventure seekers alike. Lanzarote, with its otherworldly volcanic scenery, provides a striking backdrop for a variety of outdoor activities.
The local culture is equally captivating, influenced by Spanish, African, and Latin American traditions. Visitors can immerse themselves in vibrant local festivals, sample delicious Canarian cuisine, and explore historical sites that tell the story of the islands' rich heritage. From the bustling markets of Mercado Municipal Nuestra Señora de África to the artistic charm of Centro Histórico de San Cristóbal de la Laguna, the Canary Islands offer a delightful blend of history and modernity that is sure to enchant every traveler.
When to Experience the Best of the Canary Islands
The Canary Islands boast a mild climate year-round, making them an ideal destination at any time. However, the best time to visit largely depends on what you seek from your getaway. The peak tourist season runs from late December to early April, coinciding with the winter holidays and spring break. During this time, you can expect vibrant festivities, such as the famous Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which is one of the largest and most colorful carnivals in the world. Booking accommodations well in advance is advisable if you plan to visit during this bustling period.
For those preferring a quieter experience, consider visiting during the shoulder seasons of May to June and September to November. The weather remains pleasantly warm, and the islands are less crowded, allowing for a more intimate exploration of the local culture and attractions. This is also a great time to take advantage of lower hotel rates and special deals, making it a smart choice for budget-conscious travelers.
Summer months can get quite hot, especially in July and August, but this is when the beaches are at their best. Families flock to the islands during this time, making it perfect for beach activities and water sports. If you're planning a family vacation, be sure to check out family-friendly attractions like Siam Park and Aqualand Costa Adeje for some fun in the sun.
Essential Travel Tips for Your Canary Islands Adventure
Traveling to the Canary Islands can be a breeze with a little preparation. First and foremost, familiarize yourself with the islands' geography. Each island has its own unique character and attractions, so plan your itinerary accordingly. Consider renting a car for greater flexibility in exploring, especially if you wish to visit remote beaches or hiking trails. Public transportation is also available, but it may not be as convenient for reaching more secluded spots.
When it comes to cultural etiquette, the locals are known for their warm hospitality. A simple greeting in Spanish, such as “Hola” or “Buenos días,” goes a long way in making connections. Tipping is customary in restaurants and for services, typically around 10% of the bill. Be sure to try local specialties like papas arrugadas (wrinkled potatoes) with mojo sauce and fresh seafood dishes that showcase the islands' culinary delights.
Lastly, stay hydrated and protect yourself from the sun while exploring. The islands enjoy a sunny climate, so sunscreen and a hat are essential for outdoor activities. Whether hiking in Teide National Park or lounging on the beach, taking care of your health will ensure a memorable experience. With these tips in mind, your adventure in the Canary Islands is sure to be smooth and enjoyable.
