Champasak Province hotels & accommodations

You can't beat the location of the Champasak Grand Hotel (not to be confused with the Champasak Palace Hotel). On the riverside next to the Japan-Lao Friendship Bridge, there are rooms with lovely views across the Mekhong to the hills on the other side. Staff were very friendly, with the exception of a couple of the front desk staff who seemed reluctant to deal with ...

We were on our way on our motorcycle to the 4000 islands. Drove past a advertising board of The River Resort in Champasak and we thought we check it out. We booked the two day package as a consequence we didn't get to the Islands. From the lovely check in staff to the lady picking up the leaves, everyone treated us like royalty. The rooms are first class so is the gard...

This is a gorgeous, well maintained and managed hotel. Walking the hallways with their beautul dark wood floors and walls full of artwork and photos is a pleasurable and nostalgic trip that takes you back 100+ years. The hotel’s location is very good with markets, restaurants, transportation and tourist options all within several blocks. The dining room (and lounge) o...

We went there in July 2018. The hotel is very nice, a bit outside of the centre, but close to the biggest market of the town and also to a shopping mall. Rooms are very clean but above all the rest, the staff is just incredible: they always made their very best to get us comfortable and enjoying our stay. I can only warmly recommend this place if you cross Pakse.

Due to not being able to make the nearby Thai/Lao border crossing at Chong Mek/Vang Tao the day of my original booking, I called the Thai manager to let him know I would only be arriving the following day. This was accepted, although once I arrived, the manager claimed he would need to check if he can move the booking one day ahead, such that I keep all my 3 originally...

we enjoyed our stay at the arawan riverside hotel. it is a beautiful hotel next to the mekong river ! suggest you book the river view room … you will be glad you did. the service staffs are exceptional ! great breakfast ! with lots of selection. great restaurants … quiet ambience … i give the service staffs at the arawan riverside hotel two thumbs up … way up… th...

Highly recommend. We stayed in a floating bungalow for 3 nights and it was brilliant. Clean rooms, brilliant view of the Mekong and attentive staff who organised reasonably cheap tours for us. There is also a pool area with sun loungers that I wasn't aware of when booking. My only comments for improvement would be that the beds are pretty old and full of springs, howev...

Probably the best hotel in the islands area. The rooms are massive, the beds are huge and everything is new. The location is great and you can see the sunset every evening at the restaurant. The food from there is also fantastic, although a little pricy. The only complaint is that it's a little on the expensive side, and the prices seem to vary significantly. Walk ins...

Very well run, nice property that sets the tone and vibe for this relaxed area. Really enjoyed my time here and would head back in a heartbeat. Exploring the island by bike is very nice and you're right across from Champasak and nearby Wat Phou. If you're in the area, stay for a couple days.

This is not your typical hotel in that area. Most of the accommodation are homestays, backpacker dorms or smaller accommodation. Oddly in a small town stands a large hotel in am isolated street. There were not many guest in this new hotel during our stay (Christmas holidays). Probably about 20 guest in a 90-100 bedroom hotel. The plus side is the hotel is quiet ...

The Great manager and staff takecare very good and warmly,I'm confused about the trip routh and plan to Southern Laos. The manager help and advice how to visit and transportation plan for me cleary and easy with the great sense of humor. The room big and clean with the fresh ozone and cool ,romance to stay with the water fall sound all night very good to relax and have ...

Seng Ahloune is one of the best hotels on Don Khon. It's in front of french bridge and the river. Especially the sunset is wonderful to see from this place. When we arrived our room was clean. Staff checked every day our Bungalow and we always had new towels. Also the staff are realy friendly and helpful. Food is tipical and taste good.

So clean & comfortable! It is well located near the bus station for the night bus & the best restaurant Doalin. The tv is small but great quality & we enjoyed seeing football from the UK. The shower is powerful & hot. The beds were comfortable. The balcony was great to see the street. We had sufficient wifi in our room. We were allowed to leave our bags in reception wh...

The rooms are very big and well equipped. They are also cleaned every day. We were able to check in at 9 even though it says afternoon. Distance to center is less that 5 minuets but the hotel has a restaurant so you can eat there. The owner makes you breakfast for 25.000. He was a very friendly guy who tried his best to make our stay as pleasant as possible but his fre...

This is a first rate operation well organized which spares no effort in looking after guests. Our tour director and all the staff and crew were unbelievably nice. The food was delicious and abundant and beautifully served. We had time to visit several villages along the way and even visited a primary school and sang a song to the kids. One of the highlights of course ...

This hotel was great. Super calm and very nice area to relax for a whole day if you want. - Strong wifi - Cold AC in rooms - Shower was nice and warm Overlooking the Mekong River, so peaceful and relaxing. A bit far from the town center but owner has bikes for rent which helps. The road in Champasak is paved and flat so very easy to bike around. Would definitely reco...

We stayed four nights at the Pan's Bungalow and had a really pleasant stay. Our bungalow was clean, well-furnished and air-conditioning was working perfectly. Mosquitoes net was impeccable and bed very comfortable. The strong point of this place was the balcony/terrace where we chilled in our hammock and long-chairs overlooking the Mekong river. It is a really a pea...

The three of us arrived before 12 p.m., but we were given our rooms right away. Rooms with A/C are sufficiently sized with twin beds, and have a private bathroom with hot shower, all being very clean. The flat-screen TVs didn't function during our first stay (were probably not connected), but were fixed when we returned four days later. The reception staff are very goo...

We decided to splurge and stay here while doing the loop. Liked it so much that we stayed for a 2nd night (see 2nd review). The grounds are amongst the most beautiful we have stayed at in 9 months of travel. Absolutely gorgeous gardens, plantations and chalets. We requested to eat at the balcony overlooking the Red Creek and it wasn't a problem. Our room was very cool,...

Hostel is clean and presentable, worth the value! What impressed me was despite an expired booking where I arrived a day later than my booked date due to the horrible delay of transport from Siem Reap, the staff still allocated a room for me to rest and freshen up before taking the next bus to Vientiane. For that, their hospitality and service have deserve a 5 star! Th...

the hotel is located in the center of the city, close at the museum and the market. everyday the market is open from early hours till about 5 pm. the hotel welcome you with a friendly staff and take care. at evening you don't have to go downtown for a good diner because at the hotel they serve very good food (lao food, western and thai food)for the same prize as downto...

Mekong Inn is excellent ! The tennants are most friendly and welcoming and Madame is a great cook ! We loved the "vieille France" style of the house. Very clean and pleasant room with a magnificent view on the river. This is a place to return to; it was our best hotel on our Mekong travels. Hope to come back here ! Cécile and Simone

This was our second stay on Don Khong island and our first in this hotel. We will return! Mssrs Phillipe and Phet run a very nice establishment in a great location. They and their staff are always ready to help and are always gracious. It helps that both of the managers speak several languages. The rooms are very comfortable and have cozy, architecturally interesting a...
Cheap places to stay in Champasak Province

Great place with just two basic rooms in a bungalow directly at the Mekong. There are hammocks and matresses in the garden to relax and enjoy the view. The boat trip with Mike was fantastic! He shows you the real 4000 islands and has much knowledge about the region to share with you. We can also recommend the food in the restaurant which is cooked by his wife Tip, wh...

Chato Hostel was amazing! Everything very clean, staff super nice and helpful, dorm room spacious and with curtains. And best luggage storage I've seen so far in SEA: one locker for each backpack and they even let us store our backpacks during our small loop through the Bolaven Plateau, for free!

Dom some Riverside Guesthouse was the best Guesthouse I stayed until now in Southeastasia. Embedded in a village you can have a homelike stay, get in touch with the rural Laos and the awesome nature of the untouristic island. Sander and his wife will offer you long and interesting talks, answers on a lot of questions about the country and great food. A real insidertip....

I spent two nights in the guesthouse, that is very conveniently located (2 mins from tourist office and atms) and is a sort of meeting point for travelers. The owner is extremely helpful, he arranges boats to islands, buses, changes money, shares information and most of all he keeps a warm smile even when very busy. All the family is welcoming. There is a very small ...

Simply run down, very unclean/unhygienic rooms. Mosquitos and cockroaches in rooms a problem. Flip flops are a must for the bathroom and walls paper thin - to the point where the light from the adjoining bathroom will light up your bathroom in middle of night! Staff are super friendly and speak good English but I think this backpacker favourite has had its day - you c...

i have a basic understanding of the lao language (speak thai) and when we decided we wanted an afternoon trip to visit some nearby waterfalls and tea-plantations it was nice to hear the manager (without him knowing i knew what he was talking about) stressing that we were a nice, elderly couple and that he did not need a commission but the best price available. the...

We stayed here 9 days, we could have stayed here 9 years! We loved this place so much. It is in one of the most beautiful places on earth! It is very easy to get here from anywhere in town. Just get a metered taxi avoid tuk tuk at all cost. If you have a hard time finding a metered taxi call the hotel and have them arrange your transportation. They might be able to pic...

The view from the bungalows is great, the staff are really nice, wifi is fantastic! :-) the room is comfortable and the location is really good ... they also arrange transfer to other islands, Pakse, ... there are many places with great food really close and renting bikes just next door for great price.

Overall a good place to stay on Don Khon. Very spacious bungalow that had two beds and even a dressing table. Definitely more luxurious than your basic super cheap bungalows. Only major downside is that it's not on the river and doesn't have hammocks. But then it'd be far more expensive. Overall Don Khone is pricier than Don Det and I feel like the southern part of Don...

A nicely positioned guesthouse/hotel on the edge of the river. Fan rooms are USD 13 per night but without a view. A/C rooms are USD 18 per night and have a view over the river. Large, spacious rooms. Hot water showers, free WIFI, but no breakfasts. Good value and great sunsets over the river.

It's walkable to town so its easy to find many places to eat but still quiet and right across the road from the river. The guy who runs the place knows what he is doing and is really friendly with great customer service. Its clean and really nice for such a small island. One of the best values I have had.

My stay there was pleasant, convenient, and punctuated by meeting some interesting local people who shared some dinner and conversation with me. I'd recommend this place to anyone going to Champasak. You can rent a motorcycle right around the corner, and pho noodle shop close by

The owner, a sweet and strong woman, booked for us a kayaking tour of the island. The best and ecologic way to see as much as you can in one day. I want to suggest this experience with green paradise because you can enjoy with Laos guides very true people

You pay so much for the air con. Room is ok but the floorboards are shared with next door so when they walk you can feel it! We were unfortunate to have noisy neighbours and we could hear everything. Staff didn't really interact with us but we're pleasant enough. Would stay here again because air con is needed during such hot months!

The location itself is really beautiful, so it is worth paying for the better rooms in the treehouse. Because if you pay less, the other rooms you get are kind of dirty and not really a place where you want to spend a night. Besides that the people there are really friendly even though it's hard to catch them because they never seem to be around.

Easy to find-a straight 2min walk down from the boat drop off. Staff limited understanding re pre booking. English isn't great and Didnt approach us when we arrived. Just left us standing until we approached her. Room was fine although the windows leaked down through the floor tiles during a monsoon as my friends bag was wet the next morning. Geckos in the room Didnt b...

We stayed at the hotel but we had a meeting at Grand Champasak hotel. if compared facilities of both hotels. the Grand Chapasak is better, well managent. The location of Arawan is good but its facilities were broken, not repaires and not clean. All things would be improved as ranking 4 Stars Hotel.

Very well run, nice property that sets the tone and vibe for this relaxed area. Really enjoyed my time here and would head back in a heartbeat. Exploring the island by bike is very nice and you're right across from Champasak and nearby Wat Phou. If you're in the area, stay for a couple days.

This hotel was our favourite by far after a two-week trip in Laos. Ronald the manager was incredibly helpful and professional and helped us on numerous occasions with tricky transportation problems.
