My first visit to Alishan was when I was 12 years old. Now I bring my wife after 40 years for her first experience of Alishan. Alishan house has changed alot. There is the historical building and the new building. I remembered staying in the historical building and thus chose that for my stay. The staff was friendly and very helpful. My trip took us from Kaoshiung Airp...

The tag-line of this property is "it is not a hotel, it is a home" They are quite right on that count, though I don't think I have ever stayed in a home quite so flash! It feels like an up-market apartment; and when you enter the building, you could easily mistake it for a fancy cocktail bar. There is art-work and photographs adorning the walls, and the atrium on the ...

The best hotel for the price around Chiayi. Good size room with two queen beds. We used the extra bed for handy convenient place to put the clothing. We don't even need to use the available closet. Shopping center next door has surprisingly good bakery place in the basement B1. They also have the biggest Daiso store I have seen if you're into this kind of shopping. Ve...

Though it is a bit far out of the city,, that makes the 'Grand View Hotel (aka Yundeng Landscape Hotel) even more unique and soectacular!! Built atop a hill with a grand view of a gorgeous golf course and city lights of Chiayi, it is beautiful and peaceful. The restaurant is amazing, serving five course meals for just 540 NTD . Best food we have had! And the staf...

After booking a four night stay at ‘Hotel Day +’ hotel in Chiayi, we were very happy upon arrival with the hotel’s simple clean settings. However two instances left us very disappointed with the quality of the staff at the hotel. The first instance related to using the swimming pool, upon arrival the pool attendant was very Kurt boarding on rude telling us that w...

Booked at the last minute the night before Chinese new year's eve after discovering we had no accommodation at a relatives we weren't expecting much as we just needed a bed and a place to stay. This is a newer hotel in downtown Chiayi City. It is a 15 minute walk from the train station and is located close to the night market. A free shuttle is available to/from the train station. Call ahead to make reservations. I used this hotel as an overnight stay before taking the Alishan Railway the next morning. This was an excellent choice. There are some restaurants ...

hotel is located at Alishan hotel area(the place you alight after taking the bus from Chiayi station). So, location is superb! Easy access to all the places of interest within Alishan. Room comes with hair dryer and good wifi connection. Would have had no complaints about the hotel except for the fact that there was a dead moth rolled up within the blanket provided. ...

New, modern, high quality budget hotel in Chiayi. Location is a bit off down town, ideal for those who drive. Free parking. A nice coffee shop just around the corner. Look no further, enjoy the slow paced lifestyle in southern part of Taiwan now. Highly recommended for budget travelers.

We planned our Chiayi and Alishan trip free & easy. On contacting the hotel, they were so helpful to purchase our Alishan Railway tickets before we reach as we couldn't get them online. They even let us deposit our luggage for a night after we got back from Alishan. Excellent service and with very polite and helpful staff. They even had English speaking staff, great fo...

Upon checking in, they offered free upgrade from standard double room to luxury double room, featuring two king beds and extra spaces - the largest I’ve stayed in Taiwan. The breakfast was impressive, with selections of hot and continental food, and even Chiayi chicken rice (you have to DIY though). I really liked the Chinese style hot food available there.

The hotel is quite new, the room I had was lovely with good facilities and a nice city view. The buffet breakfast enjoyed in the bright 5th floor cafe is very nice. It is only a 10mn walk from TRA Chiayi Station or the bus terminal, and there is a free parking 3mn from the hotel by foot. The only problem during my stay was an occasional bad smell from the bathroom plum...

This is a clean hotel, new or newly renovated anyway, and apart from some strange lingering odors in the lobby, pretty much everything you're looking for in budget lodging in central Chiayi City. My room also came with a big desk which was great for working after hours. Recommended, especially if you score a nice deal here on Agoda!

My friend and I stayed in Dang Guei for 2 days when we were at Alishan. First we were really worried about the location as it's far from Alishan Scenic Area and also Chiayi City. But it turned out a very good and pleasure trip with help from Mr. Mark Hong and the staffs there especially Sunny. I highly recommend contacting with Mr. Mark before your trip so they can ass...

We forgot to pack one of our kid’s jacket on the check out date, and did not realize that we didn’t pack it with us until two days after and I wasn’t expect that it will still be there after two days of checking out the hotel. Surprisingly it was not stolen and it was nicely stored at a safe place. So greatful and definitely would come back live with them if we visit c...

I was in Taiwan for a vacation trip with one of my siblings and her friends. We decided to book a room in this hotel because it was inside the park. It was very convenient not having to travel from Chiayi to visit this park. We stayed in the hotel for around 2 nights in the quad deluxe room. Due to the climate, the room doesn't have an aircon. But is has a heater...

Had no issues with the stay. The hotel looks and feels a bit old, there is free wifi and TV. Features are minimal as you would expect from a hotel on the mountain. Its location is the same as every other hotel in alishan. electric blanket is useful, although we found it cold at night due to the heater not functioning very well. The hotel provides wake up calls before s...

This hotel located in a beautiful area between Alisan and Chiayi. It's alitte bit far off the road but the staff pick you up from Fushan bus station (call them in advance). Staff can speak general English, very nice and friendly. When the bus to Fengqihu was fulled at the weekend, he kindly drove me to station. The room is equipted with modern facilities (better than a...

Stayed for a night before heading to Alishan. Walking distance from chiayi train station but only if you are traveling light. Involve walking along dark street. Walking distance to Wanhua night market. Room quite cozy and comfortable. Breakfast simple. Price affordable. Written by a prince&princess

Too far away from Public Transport - inconvenience Overprice for the location. It is hard to find and long walk from the Main Train station at Chiayi. It is a 30 min car-ride to the High speed train station (cost about 400 NTD) For a small town, though the hotel is a slightly high standard but the price is considered too much. The staff is not friendly as other hotel...

A beautiful place to stay. Met amazing people, enjoyed the nice concert, to be on the 14th floor and having a great view over Chiayi. Thank you to the staff for helping me a lot with planing and booking. Also to arrange a bed for me, even it was fully booked. I hope to see you again, Seraina

The couple who owned Lawa House are so nice and helpful. They went out of the way to show me where to eat and how to get the bus to Alishan mountain. Even lent me an umbrella in case it rained! The accommodation was good for what you paid for. I booked an extra night (slightly cheaper if you paid in cash) as Chiayi is a pretty nice and laid back place to stay after cyc...

There is another "hotel discover" near Chiayi station, don't confused with that one. Everything is perfect in "Hotel Doscover Lite". Staffs don't speak English, but no problem to communicate. Because, they are ready to help you whether you can speak chinese and or not. If I have a chance to visit Chiayi again. I willing to stay this hotel again.

3 of us stayed in the 4-Bed Female Dormitory Room on the 4th floor. The beds and shared bathroom are clean. The best thing about Chiayi Petite Hostel is the service provided by Charles. We checked in on 30 Apr 2016 and Charles offered to carry our luggages up, but of course we declined (too heavy lah). When we checked out on 01 May 2016, it was raining heavily during ...

Previously stayed in this hotel in December 2016 and I like the locality of the hotel which is a less than 5-minutes walk from the Chiayi Railway Train Station (嘉義) and a short 10-mins walk to the Chiayi Night Market @ Wenhua Road (嘉义文化路夜市). Along the way, there are many shops and eateries as well. The staff are very affectionate and they usually enjoy chatting with gu...

Value for money hotel for your transit in Chiayi. Was able to get the hotel to buy our Alishan Train Tickets in advance. You can keep your excess baggage in the hotel when going up Alishan. I manage to keep my belongings for 1 night at their hotel at no charge, as understand the hassle of travelling with big bags up and down Alishan

Nice location: night market (10 minute-walk); Chiayi station (1 km drive, should take a cab cos you have to cross a long bridge, about 100 NTW for a ride) Nice staff: Receptionist helps us arrange car to Alishan National park with reasonable price. Room is small but nice and clean. Water in the bathroom got strange smell

We were quite surprised when we stepped out the hotel lift at 11th floor located at a building which looks old to us and saw a nice hotel lobby which is quite spacious and well decorated with nice view of the Chiayi city including the train station. The hotel is well located just opposite Chiayi train station and coach station where train or buses can be caught to Alis...

We booked the standard double room. The hostel is about 5mnts walk from Chiayi TRA station. The room was quite spacious and clean. What impressed us the most was Zoe the Staff. We changed our check in time several times, but she's always super friendly and helpful. She even picked us up at the station. :)

Great location if you're looking to get away from it all. Quiet mountains, tea fields with betel nut trees, the sea of clouds, easy access to the Alishan Forest Railway, restaurant serving delicious meals with local ingredients, and an owner who is eager to please. Rooms are large, with two queen beds, clean, and wifi is available. Well suited to cyclists eager to expl...

Staying here was one of the best decisions I ever made. The room I booked was overlooking a mountain and it was really beautiful. I'm not in the art profession but it made me think I could be because of how inspired this place made me feel or at peace. I would have loved to stay longer. I don't speak Chinese so I'm really grateful to the host and to her staff who tried...

Chiayi is a small town, the location of this hotel is away from two main areas Zhongshan and wen Hua is only 5 min by taxi, so it's convenient. the room was spacious with high ceiling. everything was within expectation except there is a stench at level 11 along th corridor and from the toilet which is quite bad to me. but there was no compliant I think from other custo...

Nice guest house to stay although we just stayed a night, however they didn’t provide towel, just a small linen. Location is fine although many taxi drivers in Chiayi HSR said it’s very deep inside including the staff, they offered us 100twd for pick up from Budai Township community center (布袋港镇所), however it’s very near, less than 5 mins walk. In the end, they offered...

I think overall, it was worth the price. The staff are polite and helpful. The hotel is clean, quiet, though small, it has most facilities you expect for a stay in downtown Chiayi. The breakfast can be improved........despite that, all I want to say is I will stay here next time I visit Chiayi. I am not looking elsewhere. No need.
