Where to stay in Ehime Prefecture
Ehime Prefecture hotels & accommodations
The location is good as there is a speed bus stop outside the hotel. It is good for people who wanna hop from one prefecture to another. Located near Mitsuyama castle, it is in the city center that the tourist spots can be accessed easily. What surprised me most were the massage facilities in the room. They were just perfect for fatigue relief after having a hot bath i...
Candeo Hotel Matsuyama is sited along the main shopping street where other hotels are sited. I've never tried them so I can't compare but I can tell you that Candeo Matsuyama is an excellent choice. The entrance is a bit hard to find. You share the same lift with the other mall guests because the hotel is only from the 5th to the 13th floor. The main lobby is on the t...
My wife and I stayed in a Queen Bed room for two nights on a Shikoku self-drive tour. This hotel is new and very nice. I am a fan of the Dormy Inn's as they are usually new, modern, located centrally, have free onsen and coffee, and ramen in late evenings. Our room was the usual smallish, but everything was new and clean. The bed, aircon, wifi were very good. Staff was...
It's the first time I attempt to book a love hotel room for sightseeing in province. We stay two nights and I was afraid to be charged extra fees like love hotel usually do when you exceed their standard time. We didn't encounter any issues and all we pay was what agoda charged us. The amenities have nothing to compare with a business hotel. Spacious room, King si...
I have stayed in many business type hotels throughout Japan. This was my favourite to date. The room was very clean, and modern. It was a good size for Japan. The staff were vert friendly and made check in and out very easy and pleasant. Finally, the location is great. You are a few minutes walk away from the Okaido shopping street which is quite popping at the week...
I expect a tiny room as it's usual Japanese standard and the room I booked is just a standard twin room. I was so surprised to see a big room with two double beds, a massage chair and a big bathroom! I never stayed in a hotel room that have a massage chair... It's truly of incredible value! Room is clean and location is very convenient! Highly recommended!
Very enjoyable in the hotel. Staff was well trained with smile and good English. Room was good. The beds and quilt were comfortable. The breakfast was rich. We enjoyed it very much. The melon in dinner was amazing. The best melon I have ever tasted. Yet the quantity of dinner was not quite enough. It would be better if the onsen is larger.
Very consistent, APA chain of hotels usually don't give any surprises. The room was very clean with a bunch of amenities, Yukata, slippers, toiletries etc....but also tiny, which is the norm, in Japan. If you book in advance, you can get good deals. Unfortunately my airbnb host was a female crook, so I had to leave the apartment and book with APA at the last minute. It...
A fourteen-people family with elderly and children. Hotel was so considerable to ready a staff who could speak Chinese to serve our family at any time we need help. Introduced every part of facilities to us thoughtfully. The food was nice and the room was clean.
Staff are very nice and helpful. The location is very good
10 mins walk from JR, next to the Castle, local tram stop just opposite the hotel, easy access to down town area, nice clean hotel room size is big in Japanese standard, stayed there during the Ehime Marathon, just few mins walk to start/finish.
We were there but one night. The staff did not have strong international language skills but they were excellent, courteous and responsive. I heard guests speaking English, French and Hindi. I gave the staff the rather difficult task of providing ferry departure times from another city and they easily were able to do so. The morning paper, in my native language was ...
The inn is a little hard to find if you don't know what you're looking for - it's very close to the Dogo Onsen but up a back street and signed only in Japanese. Once we knew what we were looking for it was easy to spot, though. The inn is very small and calm compared to a lot of the large hotels in the area. A traditional Japanese inn, our room (we stayed as a couple) ...
A great place to spend a few days. The onsen is the nicest one I have experienced, the rooms are very spacious, and the hotel boasts a most helpful staff. If you don't mind a 20 dollar cab ride into town, this is the hotel for you.
It is just 1 minute walk from the JR station. If your plan is to take lots of trains, this hotel is the only best option. It is though far from the city center, you have to take 30 mins tram to the onsen and 15 mins to the castle. If your plan is to explore inside the city, it is better to stay in town. If your plan is to explore other nearby city by JR, this hotel is ...
Can’t beat this location right across from Dogo Onsen Honkan (Main Building), so easy to hop in to have a bath experience, Dogo Beer next door, hotel amenity is efficient and convenient to sleep in bed, (If you like to experience traditional ryokan style, you may book those around in this area). Japanese breakfast (included in my reservation) was served at restaurant n...
Yukai Resort Dogo was a pleasant surprise and had everything we can ask for - good location, great indoor and outdoor onsens, and great dinner and breakfast with a large variety including sashimi, which is not common in a hotel. It was also a fun dining experience especially for families with kids since it has a cotton candy machine, a mochi-making session, and pots fo...
5 mins walking from JR station, Not much shops nearby , have a Macdonald and convenience shop (which fresh fruits available, so cool) within 10 minutes walk.. can walk around 20-30mins to downtown with many shops(bus and light rail also available) .. However, facilities and room a bit old , but acceptable, can find everything I needed in the room, just cannot reach an...
The facilities are quite old, but the staff is definitely helpful and friendly. It was rainy that day and the owner of the hotel gave us three umbrellas as free good-bye gifts! By the way, the English proficiency of staff are just so-so, and the hotel is right beside to the cemetery, some traditional people might feel uncomfortable about that.
At first i was a little bit disappointed because the dinner didn’t served in the room coz we arrived hotel around 6:30pm. Anyway after we had arranged to have dinner in their restaurant and the staff there Machiko san was very kind and friendly. She recommended and explain every dishes of the meal with her excellent English. We appreciated her great service. For the r...
We had trouble booking a double room here for 3 nights in a row - somehow the place was nearly booked out! But when we arrived, the staff were really helpful, swapping our booking for two single rooms to stay in the same double room multiple nights here as there had been a cancellation. They also stored our luggage for a few hours after check-out. Great location not fa...
The accommodation is cheap and also you can rent bicycles for free. The place is very near to ehime university and matsuyama university.
It’s definitely the best place to stay overnight for backpack travellers. The host was very friendly and helpful. And there was no problem in communication as he could speak very good english! I wished I could stay there for a few more nights!
This hotel was in every way a positive surprise. Most hotel rooms in Japan are very small to international standards, but the rooms in this hotel are spacious. The bathroom was bigger than usual too, with a nice tub. The view of Matsuyama castle added to the pleasure of staying in this excellent hotel. The city tram stops just outside the hotel and takes you to the Dog...
The hotel was right opposite to the train station, extremely convenient and easy to locate. The hotel lobby was clean and bright. There was an indoor onsen pool on 9/F where you could view the town. Probably the best choice for those wanting to climb Mt Ishizuchi as the bus stop to the mountain is right next to the train station, 1-min walk from the hotel.
Not many tourists will go to Niihama. I used this hotel because it was between the two days' activities more so than convenience to any local tourist sites. If you're walking, it's a good 15 minutes from the station, and Niihama is pretty far from Matsuyama, Marugame, or any other major tourist cities. That said, I was pleased with the room, as it was clean, fresh, and...
The hotel is right outside the railway station and carpark is available next to the hotel. The breakfast included is good. The complaint is noise from the street as we stayed in a room at lower floor.
You could enjoy a comfy stay at this classy Japanese hotel, staff are friendly and would guide you to locate different hotel facilities. There is a public bath for you to relax after a daylong trip, and you could enjoy your day at the spacious Japanese tatami which is clean and tidy.
Nice view and service
Cheap places to stay in Ehime Prefecture
Totally enjoyed it. One of the best youth hostel stay. Very clean, large room with fridge and toilets. So conveniently located to the best attractions such as the famous Dogo Spa and great restaurants and boutiques all around. Very quiet. I would definitely love to come back. The staff was very nice and helpful. The major bonus was to have a parking spot as well. I giv...
You may need a little time to locate the hostel at first; once you located it, you wouldn’t have issues locating it thereafter; it’s just a 5-minute walk from the station. The location is good to explore the onsen avenue and the nearby park, simply by walking which save your transport cost. Checkin was easy, English instructions on the facilities were located everywh...

Best hostel to stay at before cycling the Shimanami Kaido route. The welcome drink was amazing. :-)

Located near the tram stop, the hotel is accessible to many of the tourist spots of Matsuyama, like Matsuyama Castle, Dogo Onsen, & Okaido Shopping Street. The room that I stayed was rather big, which was beyond my expectation for a business hotel & for the price I paid. It was certainly the highlight of it. The staff were nice, & helpful. I had inquired with them on...
The best accommodation I stayed at in Japan. Perfectly located in the heart of Uchiko‘s preserved district. An old very well renovated town house. Great atmosphere: Tatami, Jazz, craft beer, good coffee... and a very friendly and helpful. Felt like holiday. I was very happy that I had to stay one more night because of a Taifun.
Amazing little guesthouse in a small town. There was a Onsen about 1km away and the guesthouse sold discounted tickets for just ¥400. Restaurants in the area only open until 7.30pm but there is also a convenience store in case you need something. The guest house had a very good vibe and I could see how the owners are very creative people. There also sell lots of diff...
Toilets were tiny! As a a tall man I could barely manage to sit down properly on them. I ended using a nearby convenience store instead. Also, no soap supplied, but toothpaste is? In what world do I not bring my own tooth brush but bring soap? However, if you are small, and looking for a place to stay for a conference at the Nigitatsu conference center like ALTs ar...

Nice stay in the owner's house. We liked the biggest room. All you need is available, even a shoe dryer, a microwave or a fridge in the room area. You can get all information you need to visit Matsuyama's region and others. Very kind owner. Diner and breakfast available Near to the pear, 7 eleven, rail station

located on top of the train station, easy access by train and has car park which charges 1000 yen a night.
For those doing the shimanami kaido, this will be an excellent location as the rental is just opposite and it's still very close to the station

Close to the streetcar line to Dogo Onsen and easy walk to Matsuyama Castle. Staff were attentive and professional and went the extra mile to find out where I could do currency exchange nearby (even though not done at New Grand). Hotel breakfast was excellent and the hotel's own onsen spa was just brilliant - I would stay there again just for that. Laundry facilitie...
The staff was amazing and very helpful. but the hotel itself? I would not go there again. In my room the smell was pretty strong, very humid, one shower for the whole hotel, electric cables in the bathroom on the top floor was not really safe, and patches everywhere on the walls to hide... I don't want to know what.

We booked twin room and was ushered to its annex building few meters away. The twin room is real small and has a musty smell. The annex needs rejuvenation for sure. Definitely not pleasant. It's an old hotel, but the sheets and towels are clean there's soap /shampoo/toothbrush etc in the bathroom and everything worked.i used this as a base to walk up Ishizuchisan so was leaving the hotel at 6am each morning and thought breakfast wouldn't be available but the owner insisted I would have time and served it to me at 5:30 am on the second morning I was runnin...
Comfortable room that even had its own microwave. There isn't much to see in the location but as someone passing through I was very satisfied with this hotel.
Good for a stopover, only 5 mins walk (thru shopping street) from train station and there’s a supermarket in front of hotel. Complimentary coffee from coffee machine is nice. Breakfast is basic but adequate. Complimentary extra pillows available.
Although my room was not very large and the decor was just the standard beige decor of a Japanese business hotel, I would still recommend warmly for several reasons. The buffet breakfast included in the cost of the room is very generous, has a wide choice of Japanese and western options and is served until 10 am. Several major tourist attractions are a 15 to 20 minute ...
The hotel is close to JR Iyo-Ozu station. I stayed there because I want to go to Aoshima. The room is comfortable and clean. However, the location is a bit far off from the city side. Overall, the hotel has a good value for money
