Fukushima Prefecture hotels & places to stay

An excellent value hotel which is near to the airport and offers everything to make your stay as comfortable and easy as possible. If you only need to stay by the airport for the convenience of catching a flight, this is a perfect choice. For the money, you can’t really go wrong. Most importantly, the hotel and rooms are very clean and the bedding comfortable. It is nicely done out and the rooms themselves are attractive and professionally kitted out. You get all the amenities you would expect from a 2-3 star hotel, plus the added bonus of free wi-fi (signal is weak, so you have to sit in the lobby area) and a pool. The hotel is also near to some pretty decent small restaurants that serve up typical Thai food. I had a green curry at one place about 2 minutes up the road, and it was excellent. Convenience stores are also within easy walking distance. The other great thing about this hotel is the complimentary round trip airport transfers. It makes life so easy and it saves being ripped off by a private cab. If you are arriving, you simply go to the designated exit gates and look for the hotel staff, who are there 24 hours a day. For your return trip back, it also runs 24 hours, so getting to the airport in time for your flight is totally stressless and hassle free. It is easily one of the best things about this hotel. You can also arrange for a wake up call. An ideal choice if you want a hassle free stay at a hotel close to the airport.

I was looking for the closest hotel to Koriyama station because we planned to go to Sendai earlier and wanted to drop the luggage. Compared to others around it was a bit expensive but selected this just for the location. It turned to be the best hotel during our entire stay in Japan. Excellent location, very clean, wonderful staff, larger room, amazing shower, and cool amenities. The only minor thing I was surprised: they did take the luggage to the room.

I wouldn’t recommend booking this place without a car, or extra money to spend on a taxi. The closest bus stop is decently far, and connections to Fukushima station are few and far between, not to mention it’s not much cheaper than calling a taxi to the hotel. The room was pristine, and the staff were glad to clean up for us. We were easily accommodated as three with the bunk bed style room we had. Breakfast wasn’t included (¥600) and wasn’t very good anyways. This hotel is extremely convenient for 1-2 night stays when you just need a place to sleep. Recommended for travelers by car who plan on moving through the area quickly.

found this hotel in koriyama to be close to many shops and places of interest in the city. the walk from the station was a short one and the hotel was easy enough to find. was greeted by the great staff in the reception and the room was clean and equipped with all amenities, which made my time here a very pleasant one. would be glad to stay at the apa koriyama again.

This hotel is located just 200m away from Aizuwakamatsu train station so it’s best for people who wants to get a rest before heading to Higashiyama Or Inawashiro lake since this two location is slightly distanced from train station. (Higashiyama is about 15min by car, while Inawashiro about 50min by car) Hotel reception is very friendly and can speak some fluently English. 如果只剩说中文就必须用翻译机。之前有位柜台小姐会讲中文，但是最近没看到了。 Overall it’s good stay at the place

It just outside JR Fukushima Station. The only thing I hate, I was there during the summer festival and the only room left was smoking room.. the cigarette odour was so strong , enough to make me having difficulty in breathing. I bought mask, perfume, room fragrance etc from the nearby store. It helped me to sleep. FYI, I'm alergic to cigarette smoke. It is not the hotel fault. Just not my luck. Other than that, everything is perfect. Staffs we're friendly. Check in and check out was fast and smooth. Room spacious. Clean. I love it.

It was my second day in Japan, and the staff made me feel welcome. I couldn't communicate well with most of the staff because they all only spoke Japanese, except one who could speak some English. The entire staff made me feel as though I were their son, which was nice to feel some motherly love. The location itself is maybe a 15 minute walk from the train station and about a 30 minute walk to Tsuruga castle. The bath room was clean, amazing, and relaxing. You can lock the door so you could bathe privately, but maybe it would be different if the ryokan was fully booked. I believe you would just reserve a time in that case. The dinner was delicious. The chef asked me via google translate if I would like to try the specialty of the area - horse meat. Of course I'd like to! They kept asking if I was certain because I would later on find out it would be horse sashimi. Delicious nonetheless. There were many different small dishes to eat, which was nice since I'm only familiar with the popular Japanese dishes in the US. The chef even packed me some rice balls for breakfast because I had to leave early the next morning! I want to ramble more, but I think I've said enough about their hospitality.

I sent a message a day before on agoda to request for free shuttle from fukushima station. I arrived at fukushima station about 30 minutes early and went about looking for the shuttle at west exit and apparently the driver was already there waiting. He checked my name on his name list and i was the only guest on the list but despite that he told me to wait until the exact time (2:30 pm) before he leaves. That kept me wondering but i was fine as i went to nearby bookstore and 30 mins easily past. After getting on board the shuttle, I realized the driver was not only expecting me but also on the look out for any potential guests that might needed a ride. Thumbs up for the discipline and courtesy of the hotel staff for being sensitive even for the little things.

All the rooms have a beautiful view over a small river and the trees covering the opposite side of the valley. The night was splendidly quiet. The room was large and comfortable . The rotenburo have a view on a small fall. The staff did not speak english but they were able to communicate all necessary informations, in particular the lady at the excellent breakfast, who gave us a grand tour of all the buffet. We stayed only one night, I wish we had stayed more. On the other hand, it is far from the center of Aizu, so a car is needed.

I stayed here with a friend for one night. Not much English is spoken here, no Internet in the room (only wi-fi connection is in the lobby) and it is a very long journey to get to the hotel! We missed the only-once-a-day hotel shuttle bus from Aizuwakamatsu Station so we thought of taking a taxi from Ashinomakionsen Station which is the nearest station to the hotel. When we reached Ashinomakionsen Station, the friendly locals there somehow helped us call the hotel who then came to pick us up! The staff were nice and attentive, they really tried their best despite the language barrier. We had a traditional Japanese room in the older wing which is huge with a beautiful view of the mountain and river. The hotel itself is grand too and the onsen probably ranks as one of the best in Japan. Dinner was buffet-style with a huge selection from soba, sushi, tempura, pasta and even horse meat (local specialty!) which I dare not eat. We managed to book a body massage and esthetic treatment (essential oil facial treatment/massage) which was a great way to end the night! Next day's breakfast is again buffet-style with a good selection and by check-out time, the shuttle bus dropped us at Ashinomakionsen Station upon special request (because they normally drop their guests at Aizuwakamatsu Station) since we wanted to see the famous cat stationmaster. This place is a great retreat to get away from it all and I really hope to come back in the future since my brief stay felt way too short.

This hotel is conveniently situated, some five minutes’ walk from the south entrance to Iwaki Station. While I’m not sure when it was opened, the building appears cleaner and newer than most hotels in the area. The rooms are comfortable, and the facilities seemingly meet guests’ demands in general. The common bath on the fourteenth floor is available from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m., and overlooks the town. The buffet-style breakfast offers both Japanese and Western meals for free. As a whole, the hotel was satisfactory to me, and is recommended for tourists who desire to take a rest.

Came to Koriyama for a cave adventure and turns out there was a festival going on that weekend so my friend and I decided to pamper ourselves and stay at a roykan. The facilities were great, there was a sauna, the onsen was very large, breakfast was pretty standard. The staff were kind and helpful. Although they did not speak much English and my Japanese is just sad, we communicated with no isdues.

We literally just checked-in, slept, and checked-out, so can't comment on the facilities or breakfast or anything, but the staff were lovely and even tried speaking some English to us. I also that female guests are given a choice of 3 beauty items from a selection (face masks and nail files etc) -it was a nice touch and certainly lifted my spirits after a long drive! As for the room, it was a good size for the price, but unfortunately was a smoking room (which i did not book) and the smell of stale smoke was quite strong. However, that's the only fault i can give the hotel!

The stay was great. The hotel is huge and largely catered to Japanese, probably because it was not a well-known tourist location. The shuttle service helped because the hotel was a little out of the way but it is still not very convenient considering we had a few luggages between us. The hotel is a couple of bus stops away from the train station. We had fun at the breakfast and dinner buffets, but were a little disappointed that the meal ends rather early (both at breakfasts and dinners). Would still recommend the hotel, as it is value for money.
