Where to stay in Galway County
Galway County hotels & accommodations

Everything was perfect. Glad I stayed in SALTHILL portion of GALWAY. Beautiful location on the bay, only 20 minutes into town, but salthill has alot to offer in pubs & restaurants. Rusheen bay house was a great find. Thank you ANN & Patrick, they made me feel right at home.

The Galway Bay Hotel is a lovely place to stay. Our room was very comfortable and clean, with excellent bedding, towels, and amenities. The free broadband internet and the pool/fitness center were also very nice. Our only complaint was that the people at the front desk were not helpful in that they did not know Galway very well and gave poor advice about driving, parki...

Sitting in the Canadian Hot Tub looking out to the Arran Isles accross Galway Bay was a truly memorable experience Sitting in the Restaurant eating a leisurely dinner with an excellent pianist playing all the old favorites. Sitting the the well appointed rooms with views out to the Bay. Responding to all the staff who made sure our stay at the conemara Coast Hotel w...

I have been traveling around Europe for 3 months. This is one of the best hostel in Europe so far (from my experience). I mean over all the best. Friendly staffs and service mind. The room is good size and the kitchen maybe small but it's ok. The location is awesome because it just right at the centre. The restroom is enough The night shift man is so kind to me as i ha...

The room was great! Comfy bed, TV, big bathroom, sofa, coffee table and a tea and coffee station. The hotel was really easy to find, close to the Eyre Square (shopping mall with supermarket etc.) in the heart of Galway, bars and restaurants clos, and so was the main bus terminal, only a 2 min walk away. The staff were very bellicosity booking a day tour to the Cliff...

Balcony House A and B Galway No one will be giving Balcony House A and B an award for best design or even least offending design. Basic comfort at a very basic price is the best that can be said about these accommodations that are at least located within close proximity to some of Galway’s tourist attractions. Set your sights low and don’t expect anything fancy in the ...

Inspired by the breathtaking views in the movie "Leap Year" with Amy Adams, I decided to explore the locations in Ireland. I got off the ferry, looked up. And voila! The hotel is right there at the end of the pier. The room wasn't ready when i checked in but that's ok, I expected that since it was before noon. Left my bags at the check in, and walked to the bike rental...

The apartments are in a great location if you are wanting to be in the heart of the city and close to all the action, however; it came with a larger price tag for this location and we had a few issues. It was great to have a secure parking space provided with the rental but navigating the parking garage is not the easiest task. We also had zero hot water and therefore ...

The hotel is 2 kilometers from the city center (~25 minute walk). The rooms were older and the hot water in the shower would go from hot to cold and even stopped coming out of the shower head. It's an ok hotel to just grab a few Z's and then travel on to the next destination. Not suitable to relax and enjoy what Galway has to offer.

Was passing through Galway on a driving trip around Ireland and thought it best to stay outside of the CBD area. Found the lovely and charming Lynfield Guesthouse, where I could park my car and easily walk (or catch the bus) into the city proper. Stayed in the very large (three beds) and clean attic room, which was more than enough for me travelling by myself. The owne...

I booked this room when I was traveling with my dog because I mistakenly thought it was pet-friendly. It was not, and it was not something the owners did wrong - it was a problem with the booking site. However, the woman who I met with to check me in was rude, aggressive, not helpful, condescending, and only cared about making sure I understood it wasn't their fault. (...

the apartment is a little old, but it is well equipped and parking is super easy. The location is a little off the city centre, but not unreachable. It is also opposite a nice esplanade for walks or runs. The layout of the apartment is not great with 1 room facing the corridor (so passerby can look in) and the other facing the main road, which is really noisy. Th...

my stay was great and peoples very helpful and friendly. the rooms are great with the only exception that i like cold room temperature and the room was too warm. my room was just over the kitchen, possible reason for the temperature control issue. if window open, lots of noise coming from the kitchen. i will go back again but will ask for a room further to the fron...

We were with our two little ones in a family room. A lovely hostel with very friendly and helpfull staff. It maybe could do with a little touch up, but it all adds to its charm. Would definitively stay there again when visiting Galway! Paid parking at the front, but big parking lot at 2 minutes walk for only 5 euro's per day.

The accommodation is above a pub so when there is live music, don't plan on getting to sleep early - then again, you are in Galway so there shouldn't be much sleeping! Jo and her staff are wonderful. Very pleasant people and will help you with anything. A nice stay.

The staff was wonderful, was very clean and the design/decor was very cool. For a hostel, it wasn't that noisy either besides hearing your neighbors come home at night, but otherwise it was fine and got quiet again after they settled in. Also a wonderful perk was free breakfast with coffee and tea every morning, they had a great spread!!! My husband and I stayed in a d...

My room was enormous and luxuriously equipped with a full-size bathtub for soaking after a long day exploring. The breakfast was substantial and served in a lovely dining room. The staff was exceptionally helpful. The location can't be beat; the rail station, which also houses the old bus station, and the new coach station are easy walks, even with luggage.

i liked the hotel. rooms were well kept and pete the caretaker was nice! stayed here during the ironman galway and it is the perfect location to get your bike down into the transition area. being asian however it was next to an irish bar and there was an unfortunate incident where some old drunk irish people threw some wet tissue at me but other than that, the hotel wa...

The hotel was great value for money. Check-in was quick. The rooms were spacious. The bar is nice for a quite drink. The gym and the pool were of high standard. Great selection for breakfast; a choice of cereals, toast, brown bread, tea, coffee, orange juice, yougarts, fruit, full irish fry-up.... The location is good for sightseeing but if you want to shop the drive i...

We stayed one night here. Room was clean and we had a nice view of the river. Town center is about 10-15 minute walking distance which was great because we could park our car at the guest house and just walk into town for dinner and sightseeing. Galway is a lovely little Irish town.

We stayed as part of a group. We had 2 6-bed dorms that were made private for us. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. We originally had 18 guest but people dropped out last min and we were not charged any extra. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. Its location is very central being very close to Eyre Square and shopp...

The breakfast menu is unbeatable and deliscious. So many choices. The hosts were very frendly and helpful, as my trip was solely to trace my family roots in Clifden, Sue put me in touch with people that knew the history of clifden and the Connemara region. Unfortunately, I was unable to find the documents I was seeking and as such I will be returning in the next year.

We were served unlimited champagne as welcome drink and most impressed with the surroundings and friendly staff. Room is average size and not acoustically absorbed. The building is historical but not real castle as such. Decoration and furnish are beautiful, elaborate and clean. Our dinner was superb with steaks and crab claws and reasonably priced. Staffs were helpful...

Desota had parking and was a great location for walking to centre of Galway, plenty of pubs, restaurants etc. we were two couples who got very small rooms and small bathroom for one couple. Pay for a larger room if available. Satisfactory but nothing spectacular.... Breakfast was very good.

We just returned from our trip to Ireland. St. Judes provided us a wonderful experience; clean room and bathroom, warm staff members, and fantastic breakfast! Location was a bit off from the Galway Center but it only took a short taxi drive. It was convenient enough for us since we drove to places such as Cliffs of Moher. My 9 year old really enjoyed her first B&B expe...

Really nice- very clean- hotel and would definitely recommend. Staff were amazing- so helpful, kind and considerate- at hotel/ bar and restaurant- including breakfast. Can definitely tell the staff happy to work there as everyone so kind and helpful. Room comfy and very clean but bed a little uncomfortable and room very hot, but only minor complaints as would recommend...

A wonderful experience the room was huge, clean, bed king size and comfortable and with tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was delicious haven't stopped talking about it. Maureen thank you for making our stay in Clifden a memorable experience we (two couples from Australia were impressed) Thank you once again. Michael and Carmel

We had a lovely stay at the Radisson in Galway. Room excellent and clean. We were facilitated with early occupancy. Staff are very professional. Breakfast was excellent and a good variety of food. Very close to centre of Galway city. We had a very enjoyable stay

We drove from Dublin to Galway and as exiting Galway was difficult, we were worried about finding our way into Galway to the hotel but it turned out to be rather easy given the location of the hotel. Consequently, it was also a great location to start our day's activities when we drove out each day. It was also very well positioned for visits to the town centre but j...

We stayed 2 nights and this hotel was superb. The first thing that we did was walking along the (what I would call) Guiness coloured river and lake. There are three ways to see around the hotel and all have very stunning views because of its fantastic location (Connemara). The staff were professional and willing to help and meet the demands of customers. You can relax ...

We loved the town of Kinvara! The guesthouse was very well located - steps from restaurants and grocery store. It was very basic, but nice and clean. The full Irish breakfast was nice as well. We saw the Burren Forest and Cliffs of Moher - each a fairly easy drive during daylight.

Wonderful place. Best BnB we have had on our holiday. Fred and Michelle go all the way to make your stay memorable. Rooms have up to date decor and amenities. Breakfast is first class and even 5 star hotels could not ...

Mike is my husband's man crush. Really. Try and not fall for Mike and Breda's warmth, humor and charm. They're a delight and made us feel right at home. Breakfast is delicious and a joyful start to the day. They were happy to suggest places to explore and gave us the lay of the land when we arrived for our stay in Galway. Very grateful to previous reviewers for guiding...
