Gauteng hotels & accommodations

My mum and dad got married on the 18.05.2019 and I had booked a room for them at the met court. Everything had been conducted perfectly until they were informed the next morning that the breakfast included in the package I had purchased for them included breakfast for one person only (despite the confirmation stating BREAKFAST INCLUDED, not breakfast for one included)....

This four-star hotel is only ten minutes away from the airport, The bedroom and bathroom are well decorated, very spacious and clean. The parking yard is huge and can hold hundreds of cars. The hotel also provides 24-hour free shuttle bus to the airport for tourists without cars. The hotel staff are professional and friendly. The free breakfast provided is nice. Chines...

Sadly last time I explained how bad the coffee was - it surprised me it is worse now.. Gone too is that coffee machine at the front door although it was broken lastime it was s nice touch ..My food channel wasn't runny either - another main reason I booked .. Everything else is ok , the staff are polite and professional but frankly it's 'ok' and not worth repeating un...

This hotel sets a standard that I wish all those overrated 4 star hotels in the UK and US came even close to following..... Spacious, thoughtfully appointed, modern and bright room, big window, very comfortable bed, plenty of lighting which you could dim or brighten according to your needs. Well designed, from the spotlessly white beds and chairs, to the silver-toned...

The overall stay was good. The room wasn't big, but it was enough for two people with not many luggages. However, the toilet was relatively large. There were all kinds of amenities, the view from the window was also great too. The location was absolutely perfect as the hotel was located near to the JNB airport, which required only ~10mins to walk. One possible disa...

Stayed at this hotel 27 and 28th of October. My daughter attended a dance competition in the CBD of Jhb. Love this hotel. Excellently situated next to the Gauteng station and Sandton City. No need to have a car. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and need. Would have liked to be able to make a cup of coffee in the morning.

Is really convenient if you have to make a connection in Johannesburg and sleep one or two nights. Is cheap and is ok. Mainly y if you arrive at night or afternoon and the next day have plans to leave the city. Or if you arrive to the airport during the night and don't want to take taxi to the centre. Is less than one kilometer from the airport. And is near Rhodesfie...

Can I say fabulous again...this was by far the best hotel that I have been too and I stay at five star hotels...but the service and grounds were awesome. I think there are 10 rooms so very intimate. The room(suite?)I stayed in had a private outdoor space that included shower, hot tub, lounge area and table and chars that we had breakfast the next morning. The room h...

The people are extremely friendly and helpful. I been travelling across various counties and hotels for the past 3 years and this was my best stay considering I stayed in 5 star hotels outside SA as well. I can only speak good things about my stay and the people must keep it up and make me a proud South African. Well Done to the teams who took great care of me for nea...

Booked this as a last minute stay for our last day in J'oburg and we were impressed. Check in was efficient and quick. You do need to review a few papers though, notable the inventory list but they make it seemless and quick. The suite had all we needed, including a washing machine. No dryers in the smaller units though. Location in Sandton is greata few minutes walk f...

This is how 5 star Hotels should be run. Great rooms, especially the Junior Suites, great restaurant serving brilliant steaks and a variety of equally great foods. The pool, although on the small side, allows for sunbathing, if that's your thing, as well as a relaxing swim. Staff couldn't have been friendlier. Also offer a regular free shuttle on the half hour into ...

My husband and I stayed here for a few days on our trip to Johannesburg and it was Spectacular!!! The Hotel is truly one of a kind it’s not your typical cookie cutter hotel but instead a architectural dream with a surprise around every corner. In order to avoid traffic I stayed at the hotel to attend the In Good Company 2018 conference It was so convenient for the atterbury theatre with many shops and restaurants within 200m for dinner and lunch. Breakfast in the hotel was good but over priced considering the competition just outside the door.

from the check in to the check out, to the golf cart driver Jade and the impromptu whizz around the facilities, to the ladies who made my bed (even though i pulled it straight and tidied it), to my beautiful bathroom and all the nice stuff in it, to room service two late nights in a row, to the beautiful and tasteful breakfasts and the lesson on sunny side up and eggs ...

The Once is an amazing “ploshtel” which has something for every type of traveller. The building is a former hotel so some of the rooms are just what you would expect for a regular hotel. And for “older” travellers like myself who do not want to do the complete hostel experience anymore, the Once is perfect. The double room is lovely with a comfortable bed, excellent...

Superb value for money, especially when making a last minute booking. Rooms are relatively cheap then, in comparison to booking in advance. Some facilities did not work ie. TV remote, telephone for reception, had to use cellphone (not a big issue, but it didnt work nonetheless) Staff not the best the I have encountered. Not taking proper orders for room service etc....

Overall we were very impressed with this property. We checked in late and we were upgraded as the property was not very busy on the night. :) This was a lovely gesture. Our room was large and well appointed. Dressing gowns awaited us. All the facilities one could think of were available! The dinner was excellent. Really enjoyed my camembert starter. The manageress ...

Just 1.5 hours from Jhb - it's very easily accessible The aqua dome - is great even in bad rainy weather The animal world is also very nice The walk through the wetlands to the river was also a treat As well as the wall climbing Two complain however - when booking it's not obvious that their are 3 different locations of accommodation - the chalets where 3 star b...

My stay was great with no issues. Booked at 7am and even with the hotel policy 2pm check-in time i was allowed to check-in at 10:30am. Connie the manager is so friendly and welcoming. She's a real asset to any establishment as they are the sort of memories you can recall when deciding to book a room again in the future. The standard queen room was as expected. Clean, ...

Lovely rooms! Location is nice. Close to Sandton mall, walkable. That was why I chose the place anyway. Cons - Breakfast is just there, very bland. Ugh! I had already booked the hotel before reading reviews, most of the bad reviews I read were about the staff and had nothing to do with the hotel facilit...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Town Lodge and the atmosphere appears to be a standard each time we visit. I would request that the Hotel considers putting a fridge in each room with some drinks whose cost could be part of the hotel rate. If not possible consider this as an extra upon request. Also, the transfers the hotel can communicate the name of the driver and ...
Cheap places to stay in Gauteng

The staff take very good care of ther customers, are friendly and helpfull and feels like staying with family, the guesthouse has it's own decoration style a nice roof terrace kitchen . some small things in the building could be improved or repaired, but its ok. It is about 10 min walking to the center, supermarkets and eatingplaces are nearby. They didn't came to p...

If you want to stay at a place where you widen your horizon, this is it! The hostel itself is very nice, in the bar you will meet interesting people and in the neighborhood really good restaurants. And if you have time take one of the tours they are offering.

Good option near the airport. Very nice owners. Safe place with closed territory. Be aware that it is not backpackers place - check out is strictly at 9am, and check in is not available before 2pm. So, no couch crush after early departure. Also only first 50 mb of internet is free.

The counter staff Phumlani was very nice and went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable. As I have booked 2 night's stay and for one of the rooms it was booked for each day separately, he secure a room for me without me having to check out the next day and re-check in. I also booked for a special king which is same price as a twin and wanted to change it to a twin...

I spent only one night at Tassili Lodge. You get what you paid for, that means a room with minimum of facilities. The room is average but bed is clean so I quite enjoyed it. This hotel is ideal for a 1-2 night stay, probably not more. It's a great location, around 5-10mn away from the airport. I would come back again if ever I pass by Joburg. The place could look dodgy...

The Businessburg hotel location is itself is not in the best neighbourhoods, More Unsafe than any area of town. However the hotel itself on the inside is not that bad, kept relatively tidy and clean and the rooms are hospitable. Overall when staying there, try not to live in the hotel all day, its better as a place to come rest or just sleep and get back to business...

I found my stay as very homey. The kitchen is always open for a cup of fresh coffee. the rooms are spacious and very clean. There was also no disturbances and you can come and go as you please without any problems. The guesthouse is also situated in a neighborhood that is save and within walking distance of Loftus. The indoor parking for your car is also a big bonus as...

The accommodation is exactly what is advertised, only downside is that on my confirmation email it was stated that check in time is any time after 12pm, upon my arrival at 12.30pm I was told my room is nowhere near being ready and check in time is at 2.00pm. The staff did however speed up the process and I checked into my room just after 1.00pm. The weird part was that...

A beautiful peaceful place. Really good value for money. So relaxing just sitting in the garden enjoying the views. We got a room right above the pool area and there was a bridal shower party on the Saturday evening. The staff were so kind to move us to a quieter room without hesitation. If you're wanting tranquility perhaps ask for a garden cottage depending on what...

Everything went well from pick up at the airport to our departure.Francois could not have been kinder going the extra mile to ensure I had plenty of gluten free food to eat at dinner and breakfast. Thanks to a great team at Outlook Lodge. We can absolutely recommend if you want a lovely stay near the airport..
It's an amazing little place. It's very quaint and homey. It's always clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It's equipped with a kitchen which you can use freely, as well as a fridge, Wi-Fi and a swimming pool. Alice prepares breakfast each morning and always makes sure the guests are comfortable and we'll attended to.

The place was cozy and lovely. Moses is simply the best and responds promptly on requests. . They should pay attention to details when cleaning the room. We found a dirty container in the microwave, and spider webs in the kitchen. They should hire more cleaning staff. Other than that, the place was really lovely and secured, I will definitely recommend this place and...

It was wonderful. I wanted to move in. It is so homey, but gorgeous and fancy as well. Stephen's decorating is amazing, and he clearly has a passion for it. The lawn, pool, river and outdoor areas are beautiful, especially at night when he turns on all the lights. Would be a really wonderful place to spend a romantic weekend. I loved sitting on the cool furniture out o...

Very accomodating as we took our 11 year who stayed absolutely free & Hotel provided a seperate single bed.The peace & tranquilty is astounding. We stay only 20km from this resort which is very urbanised & this provided us with the break away that we needed .This is our second stay at this resort within 3 mths & I will definitely advise the gauteng people to utilise t...

It was a pleasant stay, my room had everything I needed. Comfortable bed, very good and clean bathroom. Every gadget that I used in the room was working perfectly. The staff was so friendly. Unfortunately I didn't get an opportunity to visit their restaurant and bar. I was invited for a happy hour which unfortunately I failed to attend because of some business commitme...

When we arrived in Johannesburg after a long flight, we got our rental car and drove directly to The Reef. The staff there was exceptional friedly and took every opportunity to make our stay more comfortable- always with a warm smile. We are ourselves front office manager and chef in a hotel in Switzerland - we found nothing to complain about. This is a good hotel in ...

I used to be a resident at the hotel on business several times years ago before there so many developments and changes around the place. The changes have brought a new spark to the place. Situated opposite Rosebank Mall, Rosebank Mews and Gautrain station. My wife and I decided to spend a weekend away from home. We arrived at the hotel, parked our car and never used i...

We stayed at the courtyard hotel for a single night on our way through Pretoria. We were very happy with the service, staff and the lovely old manor building, which houses the reception, lounge, and dining facilities. The rooms were large and well appointment, in a modern interpretation of the old world style of the establishment. The only hiccup was the double-booking...

I was there for work, so I can't speak for leisure tourists. Good points are: 1. Reliable free wifi 2. Easy to get an uber to meetings 3. If you work for a charity, as I do, you save a ton of money by being able to cook for yourself. Everything is provided - fridge, freezer, oven and hob, microwave, washing machine, tumble drier, crockery and utensils. 4. Grayston sho...

The best hotel i have stayed in for a long time. The service and the way the staff went out of their way to make me and my partner feel welcome was priceless. They accommodated us as far as even sharing a bit of South Africa history with us. I recommend this hotel to anyone who like excellent service. Thank you Aero Guest Lodge. We will be back again.

This is probably my 10th stay here. I normally stay for the convenience of not dealing with JBurg airport immigration while I wait for my early morning flight. Rooms are really good, however my only negatives are that the check in process always seems to take a long time. My most recent was 20 minutes due to a queue and a slow checkin process. Also, something the hotel...

The hotel is a bit of a walk from Rosebank Station. You should arrange a pickup with the hotel by Starbucks in the Rosebank Mall area. Keep in mind they only stop here every two hours. Best to contact them for more information if you are not taking a taxi from the airport and taking the Gautrain. In regards to the hotel it's equipped with most of what you would n...

This was the third business trip to Africa that I've stayed at the Protea OR Tambo. I'm only ever transiting so need a good hotel near to the airport. I've tried several of the other bigger hotel options, but this is by far the best. The rooms are small but well designed, the beds are very comfortable and I always get a good nights rest. The restaurant is excellent, br...

i was very impresssed on the kind of service that the rivonia b&b staff had provided. the staff (namely zani, fillitah, farmer, jessica, charles and trust) were very friendly, kind and have a genuine desire to make your stay enjoyable. the room was very spacious and clean - it's better than a 4 star hotel! as a frequent traveller, i greatly appreciated that i was abl...

I stayed at Afrique Boutique Hotel O R Tambo in Boksburg overnight as I waited for my flight back home. The property exceeded my expectations. Check-in and Check-out were a breeze. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, always ready to tend to my requests. The room was very beautiful and the bed was big and comfortable. There was a courtyard that is very relax...

You can't go wrong here. The hotel may not be the newest, but it offers a 5-star experience at a reasonable price point, at a great location in Sandton. The beds are very comfortable, little noise in either direction, no people chatting in the parking lot (which wakes me up), good breakfast; a classic and quiet 5-star. It was my second stay. My only con is that the win...

This hotel was worthy of the 5 Star rating simply because of the excellent Customer Service. The spacious rooms, pool and courtyard areas were also outstanding & of 5 star quality. I think every room overlooks the pool area which is really pleasant. Jason ,the Duty Manager was exceptional with his PR .He went out of his way in assist with some personal health issues. T...

Really great apartment type hotel and location. Offers the relaxing getaway experience. The Camelot spa facility is an amazing addition on this property. However, the property lacks the warm hotel experience from reception to walking down the passages to the rooms. It feels like a high end apartment complex. They can add heaters/aircon for that warmth feeling. Otherwi...

We enjoyed our stay at Clico enormously.. The hotel is small and intimate and you feel part of a large family staying there. Nothing was too much for the staff. Peggy at reception seemed to be always there to answer any enquiries and organised a day for us with driver Dan who picked us up from the hotel and dropped us back. He was our personal guide for the day, taking...

It was our first time at the hotel and what a pleasant surprise to discover this hidden gem. Definitely one of the best hotels we've stayed in. Everything was just perfection, from the warm welcome when we arrived to the beautiful spacious eclectically decorated rooms. The rooms finally touches was just amazing, they've thought of everything to make your stay very comf...

I travel a lot. For work and fun. Have stayed in a number of airport hotels. This hotel stands out as the best airport hotel I have ever stayed in. Location is perfect. Seconds from terminal exit. Rooms are a good size and wondefully set up. Pool deck is small (no laps) but works well for a refreshing dip. Food is world class. The in house Quills restaurant is a stand ...

The Grace is a warm and cost boutique hotel in a great location - we have stayed here many times and always enjoyed it. They have nice extra touches, like complimentary scones and jam in the lobby lounge every afternoon, and complimentary canapes every evening. The hotel restaurant is one of the best in Johannesburg. The location is next to Rosebank Mall, so there are ...

We were very happy with our stay at Capital House. The rooms are furnished well, bed and pillows are great quality - crisp, white and clean linens. My only suggestion would be to ensure that there are adaptors for cellphones/appliances provided in the rooms, as well as hairdryers - which always adds a touch of convenience. Breakfast was nice - but the star was the fres...

We arrived on a Saturday afternoon. Just one night for our special wedding anniversary. I was really disappointed about the lack of signage outside! There was a handyman working at the area where we parked our car. Still not being totally sure if we were at the right address, the handyman assured us that we were and directed us to the big ornate steel doors, which th...

Kleine Constantia is like a little piece of the Cape Winelands on the outskirts of Johannesburg, from the Cape Dutch architecture to the beautiful wooden furniture and the clear appreciation for good wine. I booked a night away as a last-minute surprise for my husband, and despite having almost no notice, the staff accommodated us incredibly well, even whipping up ...

My wife celebrated her 40th birthday in the Penthouse Suite. It was out of this world. Just exactly what we needed. The room size was perfect. The food fantastic and staff went out of their way to make us feel special. The location is just one hour and 15 minutes from Centurion and was quite, just the way we preferred. I would highly recommend this 5 star location. It ...

The View Boutique Hotel has limited guest rooms which makes it a very relaxing place to settle in while in Johannesburg. Location is good, just a few minutes away from the city center, and there are a lot of uber in the area, so getting a ride is not a problem. The room is a bit on the luxurious side, and has a big and comfortable bed. I ran into a small problem with t...

We stayed for two nights and were blown away by Gunther’s welcome, his willingness to be of assistance and the accommodation. Our suite, No2, was, as a previous traveller has stated, straight from Out of Africa, with perhaps a touch of the 39 steps (see later), with dark wooden furniture, spacious with balcony overlooking the pool, a dressing room and a very large bat...

Meanwhile, Pretoria, the administrative capital, offers a more laid-back atmosphere, rich in history and beautiful gardens, making it a perfect complement to its dynamic neighbor.
