Where to stay in Guangdong Province
Guangdong Province hotels & accommodations

We stayed for the 2nd time at garden hotel for canton fair. Usually local hotel is crappy in service even though they put 5 star hotels. But, Garden 5 star hotels equal to Sofitel Hotel. GREAT. The room are spacious, the lighting is great and water pressure is fantastic too. Also, the cleanliness are great. we try some restaurants in the hotel such as the 30th floor an...

This is a fabulous hotel - but its priced to match - lovely to experience what is trying to be a 5 star hotel. There are some drawbacks however - the beds are extremely hard - the lack of a good night sleep really brought down my opinion (lesser priced hotels nearby have more comfortable accomodations but the hotel is not as lovely); overpriced food in the cafe - the b...

Close proximity to Guangzhou East Train station was the main reason for choosing this hotel as we came up from Hong Kong on train, taxi only costs ¥11 to hotel. There's a free shuttle bus but needs 30min advanced booking so easier to take a Taxi, otherwise it's a 15min walk. Facilities wise more or less the same for a 5 stars chain hotel. Didn't eat at the restaurant...

Our three days at the Pavillion were one of the best stays of our married life. The food was excellent, the room quiet, comfortable and very clean. The recreational facilities were great and the staff went beyond the call of duty to attend to our needs. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a memorable stay in Shenzhen. A first class facility.

Booked two VIP rooms facing the river. We stayed at the 20th floor. Room was large and was inter-connected via a door. The night view facing the river was beautiful with lighted bridges and cruises sailing by. I was earlier hesitating between booking a nearby four star but more costly hotel and Guangzhou Hotel. This three star hotel was cheaper and I was able to book t...

We had a superb stay here. Choose a studio kitchen room, which was very spacious, had all the normal hotel room amenities plus a full working kitchen including a wash/dryer. Free wifi, breakfast included, great location with a mall below, supermarket near and the metro attached to the mall. Can't fault this property. Cleaning staff were excellent. The Bed was amazing i...

met the best staff at checkin. we were upgraded to club room as we booked 3 rooms and had to be separated. front office was extremely polite and help. the rooms were really well-equipped, with soft baed and nice plush pillows (4 of them!!!) a fantastic location as just accross the road is shopping, shoppin, shopping! at the hotel is also a macdonald's which is 24 hrs,...

the hotel was located in the heart of guangzhou city and very close to the mtr station. besides, there were a bus stop just right in front of the hotel to macau. the room was clean and fully equipted, but room rate in guangzhou were higher than the other city in guangdong province.

Going to Shenzhen BEST WESTERN WAS ALLWAYS MY FIRST CHOICE OF HOTEL. With most hotels in China hotel value preferences as to payments and others are more priorities rather than customers needs. With Best Western hotel customers needs are their first priority. The staffs are so helpful and do all they can with great enthusiasm. My last travel took me to 7 cities in Chin...

I first came to see the room rates at agoda for cheapest amongst the 5 stars category. hence I booked the rooms and turned out to be great. the experience was greater than my previous stay at other 5 star around the same "Tian He" area. indeed is one of the best 5 star i have stayed in. value for money, very new hotel.

Hotel room size was ample. Near beijing lu and short walkin distance to peasant movement institute metro station (line 1, yellow) and gongyuanqian metro (line 1/2, yellow/blue). There were nearby convenience stores as well. Hotel staffs wasn't very good with english but they tried their best, much appreciation. Room cleanliness was satisfactory for us. beds were huge. ...

Hlife Hotel is one of the best hotels I ever stayed in Guangzhou. Located at Kingold Century Plaza and just opposite Grand Hyatt hotel. Everything feels really new and clean. Great location at a nice area of new town, just few mins walking distance to Zhujiang New Town Station inside G.T. Land Plaza. Great service!! The people at Hlife are SUPER NICE! 1. When I chec...

I like to try luxury hotels in different cities I travel to, and we were going to Guangzhou so I thought we'd try this Langham. The hotel is design-y in terms of the architecture and the interior design, our room on the 13th floor was spacious and comfortable. The bed was super comfortable and I loved it. Overall I think it was worth the money, however, there were a fe...

i visit guangzhou almost once a month, and i always stay in this hotel. this is my 2nd review. location the location is not at the center of guangzhou (like tianhe, etc), and is in the haizhu district. but i still love the location since it is surrounded by lots of restaurants and shopping places, and is not in a touristy area. mcdonalds and kfc are right beside t...

Location: Locates in downtown area---famous shopping street, the LaoJie subway station nearby, only two metro stations away to luohu border and the railway station, convenient to HK and other city of Guangdong. It takes 40 minutes to the airport. Rooms Spacious room with modern and luxury facilities, clean and comfortable bed, high quality soft linen. Free inter...

I booked an Executive King room which includes afternoon tea mini-buffet, happy hour with unlimited flow of various kinds of wine, and a breakfast buffet either on the executive lounge or their buffet restaurant, the "Open" on 1/F. The desserts provided in all meals are stunning. You could spend the whole day in the hotel if you do not mind the choice of food is li...

Wow, so first I'm a 50yo traveller who spends a lot of time in upmarket hotels. I'm not easily impressed, and prefer niche brands like Banyan Tree over the Hyatt/Hilton larger market brands. Add to that, my expectations of Guangzhou were a little trepidatious. So imagine our surprise when we found such a luxery hotel, with simply the best bed I have ever slept in, and ...

We again stayed one night at Pullman Guangzhou for one night, as we always did on the last night in Guangzhou, as we get ready to fly out next morning. No rush next morning and truly enjoy some peace and quiet, top quality restaurant and best services any hotel can offer. This was our 6th or 7th stay. Dinner buffet is always great but price raised to 388 yuan, so...

The hotel was nice and lobby looked modern and impressive, nice that it's directly attached to the (very upscale) mall. Rooms were decent size but could be updated a bit. Very disappointed with the toiletries, just the cheap dispenser of all in 1 shampoo/conditioner/face wash that 2 star hotels put in the shower to save on money. I would expect much better from a "5 ...

This is the third time my husband and I stayed in this hotel, but was our first time booking the hotel online via Agoda for our free and easy holidays with my sister’s family – all together 4 adults and 1 child. We were upgraded from Standard Twin to Deluxe Twin for free for our stay as we booked the hotel during the Agoda special offer. Upon checking in, we decided t...

Great location, spacious space, king-size beds, easy access to 7/11, Family mart, Starbucks, & many delicious restaurants, this is an apartment with the convenience of a 5-star hotel! Definitely, we will choose this place as our living quarters in our future teips to Guangzhou.

One of the best Kempinski hotels I visited in China. It is brand new, nicely designed and well priced, and has good location, not far way from the city center. The hotel offers pretty good buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. Negative areas: dining in the hotel restaurant is very expensive. No business center yet.
Cheap places to stay in Guangdong Province

cheap relatively near MRT - Tiyu Xilu station 10 minute walk to to the malls manager speaks English common bathroom a refrigerator is provided for everyone to use the main office is at the 21st floor, room H Agoda price is not so competitive compared to their regular room rates

the air conditioner will be turned on at 8.00 pm and off at 9.00 am. the wifi connection is good. the hostel doesn't provide free towel but they sell the small towel for RMB 10. to reach the metro line train is really need an effort, you have to walk about 15-20 minutes to KK Mall where the Metro station in it.

Met some of the friendliest people at this hostel/apartment but YMMV if you don't speak Chinese. I think they cater more to the local youths. Location is convenient; a short walk to COCO Park and train station. However, note that they have only 1 shared toilet (shower and sink) for 10+ people. I will definitely recommend this place for a no-frills accommodation.

Stayed for almost 2 weeks. Staff appears friendly and on going cleaning by the cleaners. However I have to switch rooms 3 times because I could not understand why I get bitten when I wake up every morning - possible bed bugs? I would have gone to another hotel but schedule did not allow me. I eventually moved to another Hotel for my last few days in Guagzhou.

I like this hotel as it is not far away from old town center. Walking distance from Sha Yuan metro station where Rock Square (乐峰) shopping mall is, plenty amenities (cheap or good eating houses) are available around this hotel including 花城往事 food street. All the rooms are on level 2 so that there is no lift. You can expect standard supply in room as a 7 days chain hote...

we had a good experience there, everything there was nice :) good location, near from Metro ( get off at Shaibu station Exit D3. that was the closest way to reaching the hotel), and near from the famous Dongmen Shopping Street. we booked 2 rooms, eventho we booked for the standard "non-window room" type but it was totally fine, there's no strange smell at all.. the ...

Right opposite the biggest wet market in Chaozhou. Lots of live swimming seafood, oysters, crabs, shrimps, mollusc, etc. But finding a restaurant to cook for you will be a problem as most roadside stalls are unhygienic. Not many restaurant nearby. But at night 600pm to 300am there is a BBQ stall opposite side of the road on the right side near the traffic lights. Go...

Thumbs up to the janitors who maintain the place clean and neat. Only thing that troubles me is the noise specifically that produced by guests banging the sliding door with or without intent. I understand some people might get a kick out of it. But I think they would want to think again knowing that every sound made in the chamber is heard clearly by 40 other guests. ...

7 Days are always a good choice for budget travelers wanting a relatively nice room in a popular area of the city. It is a short walk from Kande International Hotel which serves as one of CTS bus stops for inter-city travel. Very close to the subway Line 2 Hongde Road. Room is clean enough like all 7 Days -- bed is nice, maybe some dirty on the ground from last gues...

the hotel is walking distance to the xi men kou station and 16 min walk to Beijing road if you want to do alot of clothes shopping. ample choices of restaurant around the hotel. To go site seeing like chan family academy is just 1 train stop away. however for those with sensitive noses, you may not like the chemical smell of the room once you check in, after a day or ...

Kande Club Hotel is located in a main street in Houjie Town in Dongguan. The hotel is a quiet business hotel with very few facilities. It does have a sauna though but only for men. So if you have your wife with you, she won't be able to use it as the local men are walking around naked. The bar in the hotel has three bottles on display and is primitive and so is the res...

Great place, clean, welcoming helpful staff. Huge marketplace and stores of all kind. Small family local food. Coffee shop .just next door. if you need there are beverages and other things to buy if you need. Close to the train station. Chose to stay 3 nights and enjoyed every minuet.

We booked 3 rooms at this hotel but when we got there we were told that only one room was available and had to wait for the other 2 rooms. The hotel was one of the best we have stayed in China, nice grand lobby, and great Chinese restaurant on the 2nd flr. The room...

The check in was smooth, the room given to us was overlooking the border gate not as stated when I booked for seaview rooms.Room was clean staff is good and attentive. The breakfast is below par and effort should be made to improved it,overall I will recommend this hotel as it still excellent compare to a lot of hotels in Zhuhai.

this is the best hotel for all of our trip. we booked 1 room for 4 person. bed is convenience. AC is so cold. Has 1 washing machine but you can wash 1 time only, after that it will be locked. detergent is available. amenities complete. internet is fast. make sure you have to think how to get google access in China, otherwise your internet will be useless. very close to...

I hereby like to say a special thank you to the staff in the cafe where the breakfast is, i had a client who fainted suddenly in the cafe, beside a male guest who rendered hand to help, the Hotel cafe manager, staffs Mr Mark and the cook Mr Tiger Huang came rushing to help and even help to cook ginger with black sugar when i requested it for my client, they showed the...

I like this hotel very much for its location, service and cleanliness. If you are coming from the airport best to take the taxi as it is in a small road and not so easy to find for first timers. However, it is just a few minutes walk from subway station Gangding. Just walk down the small road in front of the hotel, turn right when you see the blue signboard showing th...

The service by the staff was reasonable for a hotel in Guangdong, and they were pretty helpful as well in my case. We had no complaints about the room, everything was clean, no smoke smell in the room and the basic amenities were there. Overall, a decent hote with clean rooms and very accessible to the wholesale shopping area. For the price, definitely recommended!

Oh, I don't want to leave this review because I'm afraid this hotel is going to get busier. It was located on the 6th floor of a commercial building, which located nearby Dongmen market. Reception was very well organized and people were really really nice. They tried to keep speaking English and also tried to support the guests in whatever case. When I booked the roo...

We booked a room with one queen bed but got upgraded to one with two queen beds, so we were very pleased with it. it was a very nice experience to stay in guangdong yingbin hotel. the room i got was much larger than other hotels with similar price. the location of the hotel is very close to many different tourist's attractions so it is convenient. you can walk around the surrounding areas to see many interesting things.

I had made a stuff up with my last minute booking (booked 1 day ahead) but the friendly helpful staff (mainly Sharon) and Agoda, sorted it out for me. A lovely hotel, especially the new building that I stayed in. Its a pity 1 only stayed 1 night. A bit expensive compared to what I usually pay, for cheaper hotels, but it was worth it. Possibly the best breakfast selecti...

I have stayed at the Guangdong Victory Hotel before, but this was my first time staying in the West Building on 4th Street. I now much prefer it to the East Building on 2nd Street. I find it quieter, and the rooms with the balconies overlooking 4th Street are fantastic. I've read other reviews that mentioned problems with mosquitoes and poor wifi. I had none of those...

I was surprised by the location and quality of the hotel even though it is a local 5 star hotel and not an international 5 star chain. The location is very convenient right next to the electronics city and all other category of shopping and dining. Right outside the hotel entrance is the subway entrance, so it is very convenient to move around. The front desk staff...

We stayed in a room listed as an apartment. We thought we would be staying in the actual hotel, but were surprised to learn that we had to take a shuttle to the apartments. However, it wasn't so bad at all. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes for the shuttle (just tell the desk you need it). It was literally a two-minute ride and even walking distance. The apt...

The 10th time visit. Hotel is as good as usual, modern, elegant, fabulous looking, both exterior and interior way. Room size is very large and its decorations and design are wonderful I'd say. It looks like a 5-star hotel which I feel at ease to pay this amount of money to stay at this hotel. Love its breakfast buffet and its room. Must come again. One drawback is its ...

The Shenzhenair International Hotel is a true five-star hotel. Although, the facility is quite old, it’s really being kept in tip top shape. We had an extremely pleasant stay at this hotel and this was my hubby’s email to the hotel management: We checked into your hotel recently and stayed 3 nights in it, from 15th to 18th November, 2018. From check in to check out the servive and experience in this hotel was the best. I stayed here for four nights with my elderly parents. I picked this hotel over the Sheraton Shantou because it cost less and because I wanted to try supporting a native Chinese enterprise. Overall, we had a very positive experience. The rooms felt new, elegant, and unostentatiously luxurious. They reminded me a bit of the Palais de Chine Hotel in Taipei. I especially...

This is a real 5 stars hotel!New built hotel and special care paid for each detail. The location is excellent,a lot of nice restaurants, shopping malls and park nearby,as well as the metro station for easy access anywhere.Enjoyed a lot the breakfast that I had at 47th floor(i believe) with stunning views over the city.Special thanks to Jeff the chef butler and his beauti...

This is my seventh visit to china and I had been in a lot of other hotels with 5 stars but this one was really very clean and rich in breakfeast staff was also very friendly. The only suggestion that I can give to the hotel management is to raise the number staff of english speakers. But the hotel was very well organized so I didnt feel the lack of communication.

We arrived at the Royak Marina Plaza by Metro and it was a short walk across Panyu Square to the hotel. This is a real 5 star hotel, with excellent service. Small thing we don't really like is that we have to pay RMB 30 for 15 minutes internet servic in the business centre. Cmon.. No free internet ? More about Guangdong Province
Discover the Charms of Guangdong China
Guangdong, a province located in southern China, is a captivating blend of ancient traditions and modern marvels. Renowned for its vibrant culture, rich history, and unique attractions, this destination promises an unforgettable experience for every traveler. From bustling cities to serene parks, Guangdong has something for everyone. Visitors can immerse themselves in local customs, savor delicious cuisine, and explore historical sites that tell the story of the region's past.
The culture of Guangdong is deeply rooted in its history, with influences from various dynasties and ethnic groups. The province is famous for its Cantonese cuisine, known for its fresh ingredients and bold flavors. Food enthusiasts will find a variety of dining options, from street vendors serving dim sum to upscale restaurants offering gourmet experiences. The lively markets and street stalls are perfect for sampling local delicacies, making culinary exploration a highlight of any trip.
In addition to its culinary delights, Guangdong is home to stunning natural landscapes and vibrant urban centers. The iconic Canton Tower, standing tall in Guangzhou, offers breathtaking views of the city and is a must-visit for photographers and sightseers alike. The province's parks, such as Sun Wen Memorial Park and Baiyun Mountain, provide a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, allowing visitors to connect with nature. Whether you're wandering through historic neighborhoods or enjoying a leisurely stroll in a park, Guangdong's charm is undeniable.
Best Times to Experience Guangdong
Timing your visit to Guangdong can significantly enhance your travel experience. The province enjoys a humid subtropical climate, making it ideal for exploration throughout the year. However, the best times to visit are during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) months. During these seasons, the weather is pleasantly mild, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F), making it perfect for outdoor activities and sightseeing.
Spring is particularly enchanting as the flowers bloom, and festivals abound. The famous Canton Fair, held in April and October, attracts visitors from around the globe, showcasing a wide array of products and innovations. Autumn, on the other hand, is marked by the Mid-Autumn Festival, where locals celebrate with mooncakes and lantern displays, providing a glimpse into the region's cultural heritage.
Summer can be quite hot and humid, with temperatures soaring above 30°C (86°F), which might deter some travelers. However, this season also brings vibrant nightlife and exciting events, making it an appealing time for those who enjoy a lively atmosphere. Winter, while cooler, is relatively mild compared to other regions, and travelers can enjoy fewer crowds at popular attractions. Regardless of the season, Guangdong offers unique experiences year-round.
Essential Travel Tips for Your Guangdong Adventure
Traveling to Guangdong can be an exciting adventure, but being prepared with some essential tips can make your journey smoother. First and foremost, familiarize yourself with local customs and etiquette. The people of Guangdong are known for their hospitality, and a simple greeting in Mandarin, such as "Nǐ hǎo" (Hello), can go a long way in building rapport with locals. It's also customary to greet elders first in social situations, reflecting the importance of respect in Chinese culture.
When it comes to transportation, Guangdong has a well-developed public transit system, including buses and subways in major cities like Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Purchasing a transportation card can save time and money, allowing for seamless travel throughout the urban areas. Taxis are also readily available, but it's advisable to have your destination written in Chinese to avoid any communication barriers. For those who prefer a more leisurely pace, renting a bicycle is a fantastic way to explore the scenic parks and waterfronts.
Lastly, be mindful of the weather and pack accordingly. Lightweight, breathable clothing is ideal for the humid summers, while a light jacket may be needed during the cooler months. Don't forget to stay hydrated, especially during outdoor excursions. With these tips in mind, travelers can fully immerse themselves in the beauty and culture of Guangdong.
Where to Stay in Guangdong for Every Budget
