Where to stay in Hai Phong
Hai Phong hotels & accommodations

I read some mixed reviews on this hotel, but was pleasantly surprised by how nice it is. Cat Ba downtown is a little like Myrtle Beach, honky tonk-ish. But this property was by far and away the best in the area, and secluded as well. Rooms, grounds, pool and staff were great. Food also good. Its not a 5 star hotel by world standards, but a 10 star compared to other hot...

No money spared on building this new place, but a god example of why state owned hotelks are nearly always duds. Huge corridors, small rooms, poor breakfast shared in a place that looked like a royal dining room, except that everything didnt work. But not a lot of choices in Hai Phong. Best thing about it is that its near the Cat Ba ferry pier.

A great hotel, particularly for the area. Exceptional manager on-duty who trouble-shoots any issues with courtesy, hospitality and professionalism. Good food, beautiful guest rooms, and easy transportation all over Hai Phong. Wonderful staff. I'll be back.

Thank you to the reception staff at Avani we arrived late and could not have asked for better customer service. We had some issues with not having enough cash on us and wanted to book a Halong Bay boat trip, they recommended a tour company and spent a lot of time helping us with booking the trip. Thank you also to the tour company they made our final few days enjoyable...

staff could not do enough for us. we needed an early breakfast to catch the 7am hydrofoil to cat ba. they got all the kitchen staff up early, and packed us a "picnic" breakfast to take with us 6.30am. didn't ask, they just did it. the room was big and clean. the restaurant directly opposite the hotel, on the otherside of the vacant strip of land, was something else. af...

I have gone to Hai Phong 4x now. This new hotel is by far the best I have been to thus far. Just opened in April, 2018, this hotel is very clean and all about service. I am delighted and extremely happy with my experience. I highly recommend this to all travelers. 1. Room is beautiful. 2. Brand new ammenities 3. View of the city is great 4. Gym is workable 5. Skyb...

This place is difficult to get to. All things in life worth doing are like that in my experience. Taxi. plane, hotel in haiphong, taxi, ferry, xe om, boat. That was our journey from hcm. But it really is paradise, in the morning we ordered our food for lunch and evening and the boat went to town and the fish farm. We went back to cat ba island for the morning and MOODY...

not much in hai phong but if you need to stop then this hotel is ok. rooms are spacious with comfy bed and good shower. staff nice and breakfast ok too.... spa closed and gym pretty much useless....10 minutes walk into the town where there are some nice cafes and restaurants.

I decided to stay here after walking past the week prior on a day visit to Cat Ba from Hai phong. After reading reviews I wasnt expecting much as they were quite mixed. It was a ok stay. The staff were quiet rude but other then that the location was really nice and a short walk to a nice beach up the hill. Enjoyed the breaky!

We had a wonderful stay here. Easy walking distance to restaurants and bay and ferry terminal to Hai Phong directly across the road. Right next door to Full Moon Party Tours who I highly recommend for day trip to Monkey Island And Ha Long Bay. Have a coffee shop downstairs. Balcony out the front of rooms where you can sit for afternoon drink and watch the lights on...

The hotel is pretty nice. They include breakfast (though the pancake is very greasy) and we got a two king-size bed room instead of a double room for the same price. The motorbike rental is 5$, which is 1$ more than a random place in town, but you pay for the convenience and because they have your passport. We also booked a Halong Bay tour through the hotel, which was ...

This hotel was out of this world for hospitality, comfort, location, cleanliness, value for money, friendly staff, advice and assistance - the list goes on. I cannot rate this place highly enough. The bed was massive and so comfy, the room was clean with all the appliances we needed, the breakfast was delicious, the staff were so helpful and welcoming - they helped o...

nice hotel, with good variety of food and wine offer and friendly staff. however, very quiet and too far away from the centre of hai phong (5km). shower would not drain, leading to a true swimming pool in bathroom. internet connection was not stable, which is quite unfortunate for regular travellers. at the same time, the welness facilities were excellent. summarizing;...

We were pleased that we had chosen to stay at Classic Hoang Long Hotel, where we were warmly greeted upon our arrival. The reception staff were welcoming with bright smiles and help in getting us to our room. We highly recommend this hotel for its proximity to the Opera House and easy walking to other points of interest in Hai Phong. The breakfast meal was made fresh t...

It was our second stay in the hotel. We liked it due to its location as we had to go to Hai Phong Port every day. We were quite satisfied with almost everything - rooms, service, food. The other thing which attracted us was the swimming pool - though small,it was quite refreshing after a busy hot day - till the last day of our stay... when my husband slept on the stair...

Located near the heart of Hai Phong this property features large comfortable rooms with ease of access to the entire city. Offering fast wifi and an extraordinary helpful staff it is the perfect location from which to explore Vietnam’s third largest city. From a bountiful western breakfast to its roof top pool this hotel will meet all of your needs.

It's very convenient hotel for playing golf at Hai Phong. About 30 minutes by taxi from Center City of Hai Phong. Golf course is beautiful and the caddy has been training properly. In this time, I just stay only short time, I would like to challenge to other activities next time.

I was given an option to select another Hotel Room as I was given on a ground floor which I think lacked of privacy. Staffs are very attentive & patient. The Modern Décor on lvl 2 was nice. Everything is perfect except my sleep was disturbed by a dog which keep howling for hours before dawn.

Fantastic manager, he had originally accidently double booked a room. After realizing his mistake, he booked us into a hotel nearby which had to be a 4 star or something. He also upgraded us to a 6th floor mountain view for which we only paid what he had originally paid through Agoda! And that has to be the cheapest price, 2 of us only paid $15 each. Best stay ever.

i stayed in the Vip room, Hai Phong is not generally a tourist city, i would recommend anyone to book the larger rooms, the prices are very reasonable and the rooms are a great size. any hotel for that matter in Hai Phong would generally have small rooms, so spend a little extra and go VIP - comfort of the room is nice and staff are adequate, not extremely friendly, bu...
Cheap places to stay in Hai Phong

Good location, free breakfast and lovely reception lady ( or manager, owner maybe). One big minus - room was very damp. Quynh Trang Hotel is a bit away from the city center, but close to the fruit market and away from the noisy square, where music playing until late at night . The beaches can be reached by open minibuses for 10 thousand dong. We decided to walk and enyouy the breath-taking views so the trip takes about 20 minutes unhurried step. The hosts are extremely hospitable and...

Great hotel. We had a spectacular room on the 6th floor with a balcony view of the harbor and all the little boats in Cat Ba. No worries about the 6th floor--they have a shiny modern elevator. Excellent value-for-money, best we've had in Vietnam so far. Ba is very (very) friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The place is steps from one of the most popular eateries on the i...

The location was fantastic, as were the staff and facilities. The room had everything we required. The restaurant on the lower level was affordable and delicious. The staff were very helpful and kind. We extended our stay on the island by almost a week and we had no doubt we wanted to continue to book our accommodation with Phuong Phuong hotel.

It is the best place if you want to have a romantic or peaceful vacation. There's only 1 resort at the island, so you'll feel that the island belongs only to you. Kayaks, inflatable rings, pool and KTV are free of charge. The short tracking route will bring you to the other beach without any signs of people. It reminds me of Robinson Crusoe. Restaurant works from 6.3...

Good hostel. The staff are really friendly and helpful and have exceptional English. The hostel looks over the bay and is a short walk to some really good nearby restaurants. We booked the Eco Boat tour around Ha Long Bay through the hostel. It was really cheap the the tour was great - Definite must do! Rooms are big and clean, shared bathroom facilities are clean as w...

Very cheap price-wise, family run, tasty breakfast, nice place (especially for the price). Rooms have a fan, air conditioning, mini fridges, hair dryers, and some have a kettle. Not the cleanest place I stayed in, but in no way dirty. Expect construction sounds if you are visiting in shoulder season (eg November), which is true for most of the city. I would consider co...

First we booked 3 nights in this Hotel. But we really loved this Location, so we stayed 2 more Nights. The rooms are really big and there are big windows! We loved that there was so much light in the room! The room was really clean also! The breakfast was great! You get breakfast at the rooftop so that you have an amazing view! The staff is so friendly and helpful! We ...

Luna’s is very cute. The roof top restaurant is a great place to just hang out and get something to eat or drink and escape the heat of cat ba. Their smoothies are the best!!! And their food is relatively cheap and tasty. Everyone in the staff was very easy to communicate with. The laundry smelled great. Overall we had an awesome sfay

Breakfast was pancakes buffet with coffe/tea/juice, and an extra dish from the menu. We never had so much food in a hostel since we arrived to Vietnam!! The big mixed dorm had a great amount of space for every person, the beds had the best mattress we have encountered in Vietnam, we also had free extra blankets, towels and big lockers under the beds. The staff was alwa...

Although you need a motorbike to get anywhere, this location is very calm and relaxing - much better than the crowded Cat Ba town. The staff is nice, but little bit confused - had troubles taking care about too many customers. English knowledge was limited, but okay. Fried rice with shrimps in local restaurant is delicious, but sometimes they are run out of supplies......

This hotel was really clean and had a great view. It's a little away from the main street but only a short 5-10 minute walk. Wifi worked average, had a/c. Not much hot water from the shower. The staff speaks zero English. When checking out, he tried to have me pay more for the room but I showed him I paid on Agoda. There was a lot of confusion but I refused to pay m...

We only stayed one night after traveling back from Halong Bay. The staff was very welcoming and helpful in every aspect. When we were trying to book bus tickets to Laos, they made sure that we would be out of the country before our visas expired the next day. The room we stayed in is very large and had a huge bed! There is wifi, tv, refrigerator, and a/c in the room th...

For 8$ a night, its a pretty good hotel. The views of the bay and port from the rooms balconies is amazing. The owners are nice and helpful, there are many cheap restaurants around and they even rent scooters for 3,5$ a day. The rooms are quite ok, bathrooms very small but for the price...
