Where to stay in Hawke’s Bay
Hawke’s Bay hotels & accommodations

The place just went through some refurbishment when we arrived. Didn't expect the place to look that good but it did surprised us. Room is huge, shower is small but who cares when u haf a huge room. Right opposite the hotel is a wonderful view of the bay. A place total worth of $$ spent. The only prob is that there's no parking space for the hotel. It's a public parkin...

Don't be put off by reviews criticising the parking. Yes, there are limited spaces but the worse that can happen is you pay 5 NZ dollars to park right across the street. We had a very comfortable stay at a reasonable price in this hotel. Super comfy bed, quiet air conditioning and very good wifi signal. The hotel is also attached to Portofino Italian restaurant and is...

I have stayed in many hotels/motels in NZ and Porters Havelock North was the best. Why? We arrived into town late and felt tired. Upon checkin, the staff were helpful and quick to put us to our rooms so we could rest. Quality of the room: clean, warm/heated floors in bathroom, comfy bed and quality fittings all round. I wont stay anywhere else in Hastings.

For the last room showing available on the Agoda booking site, we were very happy with our room. The Stafford Studio was 34m2, very clean, air conditioned, modern and well thought out room plan. The room was quiet as it had double glazing. There was a large comfy bed with cosy linen, a large walk in shower with good water pressure, and a screened balcony with partial se...

This motel was superb! It was a small self contained apartment with all the amenities, nice spa pool in the bedroom, beautiful super clean bathroom, great kitchen and cozy living space. Best value on accommodation during our tour of NZ by far! Staff is super friendly and helpful as well.

This is the second time we have been to this hotel, on this trip we spent two nights at the Scenic on our way to Auckland. As usual the service was good the room are large and each one has great views across the bay to Cape Kidnappers. There is no other hotel in Napier to match its location and hospitality.

Receptionist were very friendly, they do helped to book tours etc.. They provided brochures for food and entertainment purpose too. There are ample parking spaces, wifi is sufficient, there are even drying areas for us to peg our washed clothes and they provided shampoo and soap too. It's very value for money considering we traveled in 5. Apart from coffee, tea and mil...

The property was exactly as it was described The Location was where we wanted to be The staff were friendly The owner was delightful The only shadow was the Internet was not working which caused one of our team challenges because she needed to be in touch with her family over a hospital appointment Would recommend people to use this property

The cottages were beautiful! Imagine waking up surrounded by vines in a quiet, exclusive vineyard, having breakfast outside looking at the morning fog and then taking a morning stroll taking in the fresh air! We had some complications and confusion during checkin as the staff mistaken our booking with another guest's and cancelled us, thankfully, there was a empty cott...

We really liked the room and had a good rest but we couldn't use the balcony or even sleep with those windows open because of the neighbor's cigarette smoke. We were disappointed that we couldn't use the balcony at all in the evening or for our breakfast because of the stench of the cigarettes.

Everything about my stay was amazing. The food was delicious, the views unbeatable, and my hot stone massage was perfect. I highly recommend this hotel for any kind of travel, especially for a romantic get away. My can-am tour of the farm was great!

Service was very good & I loved that I received an email letting me know they had seen my "Special request" & it was covered. For us there were a lot of things in a small area & the bathroom was tiny. The mirror in the bathroom was directly opposite a window with no blind so you could only use it properly when it got dark. The toilet door was sliding and noisy & you co...

The Manse has a great location in the vineyards of Hawkes Bay. We had a wonderful stay here I could not fault ANYTHING ! The rooms are very comfortable with luxurious amenities. Breakfasts were delicious with much of the produce from the farm. Gary is an amazing chef & dinner is also sourced from the local area & farmers markets with an option of matching wines. O...

The owners were fantastic and so happy to help with recommendations for the region. The location is excellent for exploring the wineries and close to some fantastic cycle paths and running tracks. Accommodation was clean and comfortable- would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends and family.

We loved our stay at Millar Road Hotel. The property is gorgeous with stunning views of the vines and out to the water from the villa. It was very comfortable and clean with a well stocked fridge of quality items. It was very peaceful and quiet, however we did find it quite isolated when we were looking for dining options in the evenings. The reason for giving 4 stars ...

We were a small group of 3 travelling over for an outdoor concert. The Cherry Grove Motel was very easy to find, close to the village with the added advantage of a dairy very close. The owner was super friendly and happy to help. Our unit was clean and comfortable with all amenities, we appreciated the plunger coffee pot and the tasty local coffee which was offered. ...

We originally booked online around 5pm. Which clashed with phone bookings around the same time. As the counter staff would have taken the call and booked. He would have not been aware that an online booking was made and paid for. In order to rectify this problem, the staff went the extra mile and provided a room in a different hotel all paid for by Claremonte as an aff...

I loved it. It was one of the best I've stayed in and has good facilities. Great atmosphere, it was QUIET and not a backpackers for partygoers (hurray), and very, very clean. The manager Soo was such a dear, really helpful and friendly. The free and fast WiFi made me a very happy and well connected traveller. This hostel has such value for money. I wish I could bring t...

very friendly service and i was able to help bottle feed the lambs. there was a small kitchen with hot plate and microwave which would be perfectly adequate for preparing light meals ( eggs available from no doubt free range chickens on the property) milk, orange juice, bread and a selection of cereals and jams provided. i think this would be a great place to take y...

This comfortable clean hotel, short walking distance to main square and shops. No need to use car around Napier central. Nothing was too much trouble from all staff, wonderful room with coffee machine and reading material off foyer. Underground parking, suggest confirmation on booking, otherwise parking bays next door, metered. would cheerfully return always to this ho...

Nice place with good Internet connection but... Don't choose the cheapest dorm with window facing the 'balcony' with bbq. People smoke there so smoke goes inside the room. People talk/drink/party there so don't expect it to be quiet. Beds are also not that comfy. You can feel all the springs. It gets really hot inside as the fan is barely working or not working at...

Despite arriving late, the host was accommodating and friendly. The room was comfortable, good Wi-Fi and had a great view out the door that led to a small patio. There are only 2 rooms, next to each other with a bathroom at the end of the corridor. There were tea and coffee facilities and the bathroom and room was immaculately clean. A continental breakfast was includ...

Couldn't use the table because it had the TV sitting on it and the bathroom towels were ripped, old but clean. Wouldn't have given them to my guests. 30+degrees and no aircon or fan. On arrival the office manager was quick to point out that we had booked the budget room and was OK if your on a budget.

Overnighted in Napier on our way to Wellington. The receptionist was lovely and showed us to our small cabin in the back lot. It had everything we needed - king bed, kitchen, large shower with amazing water pressure and sky tv on a good sized tv. The econo lodge has an Asian restaurant and a bistro pub on site. We didn’t try the bistro, but the food looked good when we...

Ithis place was relatively nice. One thing to note is that it had no air conditioner which was fine for us but could be a concern depending on time of year and weather. Our bathroom had a lovely jacuzzi tub with a shower head which would've been really great except the knob that converted the flow of water from tub spout to shower head would pop completely out it...

The location is excellent. A short walk and you're at the New World supermarket. A short walk in another direction and you're at Saffron, which has delicious Indian cuisine. I competed in an event the morning of my check out and a late check out enabled me to come back and shower before heading home. Ticked all the boxes for me.

This was the best hotel during our two week's trip. The hotel was well decorated showing hotel's caring and attention in every details for a comfortable stay of its customers. Our room was spacious with full height windows opened to a small garden and resting area. The kitchen was well equipped and spacious for self-catering and dining in the kitchen. Free high speed...

Stayed two nights. Very close to the function we were attending in Taradale and nice and close to Napier. Very clean and well presented. Online booking was easy and hosts where brilliant. Will definately put this at the top of our list should we need to stay in Tamatea/Taradale/Napier. Cheers

The hosts at Gardner Court Motel were really nice and welcoming. They recommended very nice places to visit in Napier and also provided great details of places to eat. The room was nice size and had the full range of amenities. The only downside was that the shower pressure was a bit weak but overall really enjoyed this Motel and Napier. Would certainly stay in Napier ...

I would like to express a hearty thank you to husband and wife team operating this hotel who had a very 'make yourself at home' approach towards their guests. It was nice to be part of a more homely setting. The room was great as were all the usual amenities including- for the room I booked - the separate bathroom and jacuzzi bath. Breakfast was very generous and cooke...

Room so clean, the coffee bean plunger type in the room are robust!!!! However, one of the best of this hotel is owner. Nice and best hospitality. I would recommend for this hotel. Location is very near Westshore Fish Cafe, you can walk to the shop from the hotel.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Havelock House. Diana and her husband were excellent hosts, kindly catering to my vegan diet and always on hand for any of our needs. The house is in a great spot, hidden away among beautiful gardens and trees and a short distance to the wineries. I loved the small touches, like tea upon arrival, homemade jams and treats and all natur...

It was okay. Felt that room was expensive for what it was and what was lacking although the Manager did come up with all that was asked for. Would stay their again but would book directly through them. I thought getting it through Agoda would have been cheaper but sadly no.

This motel would have to be one of the nicest we have stayed in ever. Modern, clean and warm, conveniently close to town, restaurants within a short walk. Friendly greeting and welcome to Havelock north and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Nice people as hosts and I would love to visit again.

Like a posh (London) Kensington apartment with everything you need. Very spacious and stylish. Great location just opposite the beach. Both a bath tub and a shower. Was positively surprised by the common facilities including outdoor pool and jacuzzi, although I didn't use. Just be aware that this is not a hotel. A person will show up to check you in at your stated chec...
