Illinois hotels & accommodations

This hotel that opened for the Chicago World's fair in 1893 sits in the heart of Chicago's downtown (the Loop), with beautiful views of Lake Michigan, Grant and Millennium Parks, and the Buckingham fountain that is right across the street. Given the prime location, you would think it would long ago have been replaced by a post-modern resort that would cost several time...

The location is very convenient, most of the places can easily be reached by foot. Housekeeping staff was excellent and made sure the room was in immaculate condition. I initially booked a higher floor room caus I read that the siren sounds can be disturbing. During check in time they provided us with connecting rooms but did not honor the higher floor rooms booking ...

It is very nice to stay as outlet is close and shuttle bus stop is close. Also airport shuttle is good. It is far from downtown, thus we can use outlet shuttle to get metro to go downtown, which takes 1hr. If time is available, recommend to stay here.

I am not sure what I should expect for 4-star hotel. Compared to my previous hotel without stars, this hotel has no bath tub, nor coffee machine. Room space is smaller but has every necessary things. Air condition can be set in a few range of temperature, but this is understandable because Chicago is normally cold. There was water drop in shower room, so I heard the so...

The hotel is located right next to the Chicago O'Hare International Airport. It is convenient for travellers who are stopping over in Chicago for a day or two. For me, I had just come off a long-haul international flight. It was easy for me to get to the hotel and take a rest after the long travel. The reception was very friendly. The staff greeted me personally and g...

The hotel was beautiful and clean, the access in and out was super easy and the staff was amazingly kind and helpful. If any of them was having a bad day, you’d never know. The maintenance guy that came up and swapped out our mini fridge was efficient and kind as well. Beautiful view of the city and water as well!! It was nice not being blocked by any other buildings (...

Had to change our booking last minute because the hotel we'd originally booked had gotten some worrying reviews. This hotel was the closest to our price range and I'm so glad we booked it. The room was clean and spacious, the staff was super helpful, and the location itself is only 10-15 minutes from the city center. Highly reccomend!

From our arrival to departure the Omni Chicago shined. The staff was helpful, but not intrusive. The suite was clean, spacious and well designed. We had a delicious breakfast at the restaurant before a busy day at the museums. The pool and hot tub provided a few moments of needed relaxation at the end of the day. We will be back.

I booked two rooms in advance for my daughters 15th birthday. Check in is at 3pm and my 2nd room wasnt cleaned and ready until 5pm. Rooms were spacious and clean. No one has floor to ceiling windows anymore but indian lakes does. Beds and pillows were exceptionally nice. Pool was awesome except it was so crowded from people just coming in off the street not staying at...

Stayed for 5 days for the Cirobe Book Fair in the hotel. Very convenient as the fair was just downstair. Strategic location for sightseeing as well as the Grant Park, Millenium Park and Lake Michigan are just right in front of the hotel. The Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum and the Art Institute of Chicago are just right around the corner. Had a lovely time as I managed to...

Stayed for four nights. It’s a nice and clean hotel in appearance but I think there must be something in the AC vents as I got terrible sore throats and my allergies acted up worse than ever. Heard others with rooms over the pool complaining of a musty smell and they moved rooms. We were on the 8th floor. It seems like they need to clean their AC ducts.

For the price, it is a great place to stay on a budget. The facilities offered in the room and in the hotel in general are designed for the budget conscious traveler. It is near a metro line, but it is about a ten minute walk to it. I will also say it is easy to hear people walking in the hallway and outside traffic, but it did stay relatively quiet while we there duri...

This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Loved everything about it. The little note from the room attendant and the treats left each evening were perfect. Oh and the breakfast was fab. The rooftop bar opened while I was there and it’s terrific. Thank you Ivy

We like shopping, and the hotel is located near the best stores in downtown Chicago. The hotel is also close to the Art Museum which is a wonderful atraction oif the city. You also have very good restaurants in the area or if they are far away the subway and bus are good options. Also, coming back and forth to the airport in the blue subwayne to Monroe station is a fas...

It was beyond our exceptions! From the front desk, to the staff and amenities. The location is perfect too! We love going to Bandera's for dinner and it was about 5 blocks away. It's a short walk to the riverwalk and the best Art Museum in the World. My husband and I attended the Gaugin lecture there and enjoyed the special exhibit immensely. The Kenzie hotel had ...

The location is perfect, near everything, the staff are incredible, front desk always manned, coffee downstairs is some of the best in Chicago, awesome events every night, washing, cooking and laundering facilities all great. Gym is great as well as the bar/restaurant downstairs would have to be some of the best food and drinks I’ve had in the states. And all this for...

It was a pleasant stay in the Inn of Chicago but we were a bit disappointed as we booked a traditional King room end up they provided us with Queen room. Notice that the price and size of the traditional King and the Queen room are different but they did not say anything at that time and give me back a cheaper rate! I am not sure if that was a mistake, I am not lucky,...

I booked this hotel because everywhere I normally stay was sold out and I found a good deal. I was really pleasantly surprised - the St Jane is a gem. Beautiful, large rooms that are tastefully decorated and very welcoming staff. A few minor issues - my room wasn’t ready for check in, housekeeping could have been a little more detail oriented with things like folding t...

I selected the Cambria because my son was having surgery at Lurie Children's Hospital and the hotel is right next door - literally a 2 minute walk. Great location! Very clean with a very cool vibe. Updated - although still undergoing renovations which was a little inconvenient but not bad (reason for 4 star rating on facilities). Best part - the staff! Exceptional!...

The location of this hotel is ideal for a stay in Chicago. The city is easily accessible on foot from here, with plenty of local cafes and restaurants, although the cost and quality of the hotel food is excellent. In addition the hotel facilities are very good with a pool and rooftop seating. The staff are hugely attentive and helpful. We loved it!

Considering I was not booked into the hotel when I had paid up front with Agoda, I was most impressed with the front desk in sorting problem quickly ( just as well they were not full.) However hotel was great, in an ideal location very short walk to magnificent mile, clean room and really pleased with the whole stay, the adjoining restaurant is very good and do a brea...

Stayed in the city one night for fun. The I/O lounge offered a great view of the skyline even when it was cold outside - very comfortable in the enclosed part. I can see how this would be a great attraction in warmer weather, but we enjoyed it even in cold weather. We went there for pre-dinner cocktails. Our server, Alexis, was really great. Friendly, engaging, a...

Easy to find, adequate, clean, facility. Everything worked. Hot water. Helpful staff. I'm not picky and I sleep well just about anywhere, I just needed a bed for the night as I had an early flight at O'Hare and it was just what I needed. Close to the airport, easy access to restaurants, etc. Great price thanks to Agoda.com Great customer service too as I had to ...

The hotel is in a very handy location close to most things you want to see and do. It is modern, clean and at the same time, homely. That is down to the attentive staff. The front desk are very helpful with tips and advice and the doorman treats you like his favourite guest. A nice way to be greater on your return from a day’s sightseeing.
Cheap places to stay in Illinois

We had standard twin bed room with shared bath. Room was clean, and bigger than we thought, with small closet and small working desk. Shared bathroom was a bit walk, but large and clean. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was pretty good for hostel. Toasts, bagels, fruits, cereals, oat meal. Location is great, in quiet area of Lincoln park. Walking distance to fullerton st...

The price for the night of $51 was quite a deal. The staff was nice. The room was comfortable, renovated, and clean. It has many amenities we did not expect in a $51/night hotel: fridge, freezer, microwave, safe, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, TV, workstation, and vending machine with ice machine outside our room. Also, when we checked out, and our son needed to us...

Being gluten free, I could not eat waffles, the cereals, donuts, biscuit and gravy, etc. You need to offer more fruit options and hard boiled eggs. It's a good thing that I brought in my own GF cereal. I paid for something I couldn't eat. I had your coffee, milk for my cereal and a yogurt.

We stayed 3 nights and found the room comfortable and staff - especially Jay! - very accommodating. It is a long drive into the city, and traffic was difficult most times we drove in for graduation festivities, but we were totally satisfied with our room. The building is dated but it's clean and the paint has been maintained. It turned out to be an excellent value fo...

So let me start by saying it was below 0 degrees, -18 for you celsius people. I pre-booked a room on Agoda, stated that I would be coming in late at night due to long roadtrip conditions, we wanted to get as close to MI as we could and this would bring us in right around 2-3am, weather pending. We arrived at the Ramada at ~2:45am, freezing cold. I noticed the place ...

I just needed an inexpensive place to stay overnight and this place fit the bill adequately. Definitely not luxurious and appears a little sketchy, especially when checking in; but, the room, although dated, was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the TV was surprisingly a flat screen. There was a small fridge and microwave in the room, both which came in handy. I made...

If you are just looking for a place to stay/sleep that is inexpensive and located near a busy hub of activity, this could be the place to go. We have stayed at other, more expensive, motels at this same intersection and regardless of additional amenities that may be offered elsewhere, if you're not using them (we don't) you are just paying more for no real benefit. ...

We don’t travel a lot, but enough to be very impressed with entire experience. Pleasant, courteous, CLEAN, room updated and enjoyable. The price? That’s what makes it funny. One of the lowest prices we have paid in ages and one of the NICEST places we have stayed. Can’t beat that!

i ended up in a smoking room for an error with Agoda. This was my main issue and compounded all the little isues I encountered. Water pressure was minimal, sink drain was very slow, burn marks on the sink and in the shower, lighting was at a minimal, and the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on.

It was truly a very long traveling day for this 71-year-old man, after getting up at 0330 hrs and arriving at the Tampa FL International Airport at 0500 hrs for a 0600 hrs flight to St. Louis International Airport, a very long day. I arrived at the Super 8 O’Fallon, 110 Eastgate Dr., O’Fallon IL 62269 property at 1405 hrs and was informed/told by a very polite man (de...

This hotel was nice for the money spent. The only problems were the halls and front entrance had a bad damp odor as if the carpet had been wet in the past. Also, our key would not work on our room nor side door. The front desk clerk explained this is a new system and they are still having a few problems with it. Overall the hotel was great and I will stay again if ...

The bar was closely under where we tried to sleep so we were awake ALL night from yelling, vomiting sounds and oh I can't forget the fact that the smoking area was also under our window so we could not breathe!!! One young lady at 3 am thought it was okay to walk the halls hollering hello...at no time did the manager on duty do anything....worst experience and it wil...

I was traveling across 7 states with my two dogs and a uhaul. The gentleman at the desk was very helpful in getting me a ground floor room with easy access to my truck as it was unusually cold. Ample room to park my truck and trailer without having to back up. I always appreciate hotels that accept my dogs with me. Room was a bit tight but we were fine.

Very helpful staff and friendly. Facilities are a bit fatigued and worn down, but everything works and is clean and cleaned. Fast-food outlets next to the hotel, Satifactory breakfast (I love oatmeal porridge which they had, thats a huge plus), coffee is a bit on the weak side for a Swede like myself, but that's the general rule all over the US. Bring Nescafé, if you r...

The Drake Hotel was one of my favorite hotel experiences ever. The location was awesome and within walking distance of everything I wanted to do in Chicago, the staff were so friendly and helped us book a boat tour, make reservations, etc.; we had afternoon tea there one day and it was phenomenal, it was also a very quiet and restful hotel with wonderful beds, a huge T...

I came to USA for business trip to Grand Rapids, MI. So this is one of the nearest Big city from there, so I came here. For the trip, I read throu "Lonely Planet: Eastern USA", and they recommend ONLY this hotel for visit on Chicago. That is the most reason why I choose this hotel. Cause this hotel was founded late of 1800s, so it has more than 120 years of histo...

We had an extended stay of ten days. Pros: Friendly and courteous staff, Good food, great atmosphere and location, well maintained, adequate gym facility, pool, entertainment. Cons: Breakfast is not always included. What was just ok: the rooms were fairly clean. However, we stayed in three different room and the shower walls in all needed to be scrubbed. Also, whe...

The hotel is very nicely done - it's modern and the place is relatively new. Overall staff was friendly. There is valet parking downstairs for $67/day with in and out privileges. Or park across the street or around the corner in the self parking lots for about $47-48 per day. The hotel lobby is on the 9th floor so you do have to go up to check in first (and not the g...

Great staff. Convenient location. Well kept and updated. Good food at the restaurant and neighborhood -- generally speaking, yummy food around Chicago! Room very clean -- service a bit slow, but perhaps low manpower? Still, nice and clean. $16 Urban fee was a bit much -- that is, in-room espresso machine was wonky and made bad coffee (an upgrade would be good); we didn...

We got a view with such a great view! Most rooms either have a city or river view but we got a room with the river and a view of the lake! The room was nice and the bathroom was spacious! There was no bathtub, which agoda advertised for, but the bathroom was still really nice. Will definitely book again!

If you are a traveller who is moving in to another state with lots of things in your car and stopped by Chicago, the location of the hotel is a safe place. Near to safe parking garages. Location is at the Uptown and if you like to walk, it is a little bit far from tourist attractions. Staff were nice and hotel is clean. Near to stores and restaurants as well.

this hotel is really nice- great location, beautifully designed- yet at 5 am and during the day you can hear people using the weights below you- was annoying- yet not terrible- price great too- and excellent for working out staying fit while traveling- book spa way in advance- they were completely booked :(((
