Where to stay in Kagawa Prefecture
Kagawa Prefecture hotels & accommodations
Hotel has its own parking but chargeable at 1000 yen per night (reasonable). We booked at a standard room however the room size is not too small. The environment of the open onsen is very nice but not big. Breakfast is recommended. late night ramen is provided from 9:30 to 11:00 pm. Nearby the hotel, just across the street, there are a lot of food selection.
this is one of the best budget hotels that I have stayed in. the room is spacious comparing to the standard size in japan. the room is clean and tidy. the staff is professional and welcoming. not the best option if you are just staying for a night for transfer to other cities, but definitely recommend it if you are exploring around the city and major shopping avenues a...
Very nice hotel friendly staff close to JR station and restaurant will try to reserve again if we come back to Kagawa
Unforgettable. Best holidays we have so far. Even our recent 5-star holidays (staying in 5-star hotels, that is) in nearby countries, do not come near to our experience in Dormy Inn Takamatsu.
I enjoyed my stay. The view was amazing and the room was perfect. It’s such a beautiful hotel. The staff are friendly. Next time I go to Kagawa I will stay at this hotel again.
Fantastic full window views of Angel Road from our room. Wonderful dinner and buffet breakfast included. Lovely onsens to relax in as well - both indoor and outdoor type. Cherry on top was the staff - they went absolutely above and beyond to try to accomodate us and make sure we had a pleasant stay as well as make sure we made our ferry on to Takamatsu. I especially re...
Room was so hot that I woke up several times at midnight and not felt well next day. Staff was careless and gave wrong change. Yet the breakfast was excellent with different kinds of local fruit and I was fascinated with the colourful tomatoes and the orange juice from Kagawa. It was expensive though.
I loved everything about my stay at this hotel. My very reasonably priced room was spacious and had a great view of the bay. The staff was friendly and helpful. I rented a bicycle from them for a day and did a nice ride to the Movie Village at the end of a quiet coastal road. They had free quality coffee service in the lobby. If you stay multiple nights and agree ...
We stayed in both the JR Hotel Clement and the JR Clement Inn, which are next door to each other across the street from the Takamatsu port, and we liked the JR Clement Inn more. The large Hotel Clement, with its marble atriums, big restaurants, and floors full of conference spaces, seemed like an impersonal upscale business hotel, whereas the much smaller JR Clement In...
Almost perfect except for its a bit far away from oboke station, but its free shuttle service to and from the station, even to another nearby hotel as in my case, got rid of the location problem. Once arrived in the hotel, the receptionist who i still remember her name, was so helpful not only explaining the hotel facilities and onsen usage, but also assisting us to pl...
This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The location is a short bus ride from the JR rail station and easy to find in a central location, with a bus stop 20 metres from the door. The reception staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The room was more spacious than we had come to expect in Japan and the fittings and features clean, new and of a high stand...
The hotel offer breathtaking view overseeing Seto Inland Sea. Best to watch sunset from your hotel room, sea view facing. The staff is friendly and kind. The breakfast served traditional Japanese breakfast but what make it stand out is the three different color drinks red, green and orange in little glass. Really nice presentation. The room is super spacious as we...
Staff is very helpful and eager to answer your enquiries. She is nice and full of smile.
Typhoon hit on the day that i was supposed to checked in, called the staff to let them know i maybe late and they were very kind and patient to offer alternative commute suggestions, despite my halting Japanese. My room was very pretty and had a balcony porch that i enjoyed having some nice tea at whilst pondering by the night sky. The onsen was simply lovely, the typ...
It was not hard to locate the hotel, just that I first entered through the side entrance hence needed some navigation inside a building (clear signage was provided). It was further from the station than expected, still reasonable: took about 10 minutes to walk. I had booked a single non-smoking room but it was not available during checkin, the staff was nice enough to ...
It is a little bit hard to find, by which I mean you have to look above your eye level to see the sign. The lady that worked a the repection was extra pleasent and helpfull. I needed a place to crash next to the port and train station and i got that. It was clean and nice. If I ever come back I won't thi k twice where to book my accomodation. And accros the street is a...
We are an American couple traveling to Takamatsu for the first time. The APA Hotel seems to be more designed for Japanese business travelers. However, we found the bed to be comfortable, the facilities to be good, and the location to be pretty good as well. There is an excellent coffee shop located within 5 minutes walking and plenty of restaurants/shopping around as w...
We stayed as wanted a cheap hotel on our way back into Takamatsu after driving around the Iya Valley. The price was excellent and just a 20 min drive back to the train station. Just make sure the room states non smoking. I booked a double which turned out to be a smoking room. Thankfully the room didn't smell of cigarettes. This issue was more a fault of Agoda tha...
The traditional apartment is an interesting place to live in, different from hotels. The location is 5 min walk from 瓦町 station and you probably need Google map to get there. The bathroom is outside of the room but that's okay with me. Of course, there are inconvenient things like you can hear noise from neighborhood traverllers. For those who have serious trouble with...
very beautiful and relax hotel. private spa is very very good. room is clean and staffs are very nice. highly recommended
This business hotel is a little old, but don't let the looks put you off. Everything is clean and serviceable and a good deal for being this close to the ferry port. The staff are really friendly and kind, and try their best with English. There's parking available for 500yen per night. I've stayed here twice and will definitely stay again!
The hotel is just 1 min walk from JR & 3 mins from tram, and at least the staff can speak “enough” English (better than many hotel staff in Shikoku), also are very helful. Hotel is not expensive at all! Highly recommend!
Fantastic stay in everyway. The Onsen is the best ever!!
The hotel was really right next to the jr station Utazu, walkable distance to the coastline to enjoy time looking at the sea and longest bridge. Their buffet breakfast variety is excellent and their udon is a must eat! Reception was great too. Though English might be a problem but they were patient and friendly, so everything work out fine. Room wise, don't expect it t...
Pretty standard hotel. If you are on foot is about a 15 minute walk from the station. There is a large supermarket across the street so I could save money on food very easily. They close at 9:00 and the later you go the more the prepared food is marked off. I got some pretty tasty sushi the nights I stayed there for ridiculously cheap prices.
The Honmura Art Village is tiny, everywhere is walkable. The host guided me through the intro with little English and laminated cards and with grace and charm. A recommendation was made for the restaurant serving set meal os sashimi fish was superb. My traditional room was spotless but hot though the temperature moderated (which may or may not have been the a/c!) in ti...
The hotel is located in a quiet location. If you are driving, it would be a great choice. The hotel room size is good, I love the bed as it is bigger than most of the bed in Japanese Hotel. Bath room is as small as most of the Japanese hotel but they have Onsen so it would not be a problem to me. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, very willing to p...
Enjoyed exceptional hospitality at this hotel. The staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful and went the extra mile. The rooms are clean and while not large, comfortable and a value for cost. Offer yummy snacks for sale as well as beer and saki. You can rent bicycles which are helpful in navigating island easily. Would highly recommend this hotel.
I felt like I visit a relative's home. The grandpa owner is very friendly and warm even they don't speak English well. The surrounding neighborhood is safe and quiet. a little difficult to find at night but it's worth an experience. if you want to stay away from the crowd for a moment, contemplate about life. I want to come back with my family. ☺️
Disclaimer: my wife and I are traveling on foot, with train. If you travel with car and happen to visit the Kagawa prefecture, this place is a perfect deal and I recommend it without any reserve (it would doubtlessly be a 10 over 10). However, if you don't have a car, you'd better find to rest somewhere else. The hotel is at a thirty minutes walk from the JR train stat...
Cheap places to stay in Kagawa Prefecture
The owner offered to pick us up at the station, which was awesome. Luckily for us we had the whole house to ourselves. The house was really big and very homey the host was really nice and super helpful, he even drop us off at a shrine which we were planning to walk there. Yes its a bit far from the city but we didn't mind it, it was nice to get out of the city and see ...

I’ve stayed in many different dormitories and capsule hotels all over Japan, this one is one of the bests I’ve stayed in. The only problem with such awesome place is always the guests who have no self respect. I found myself cleaning after other guests after them using the kitchen and bathroom, cause they don’t care about others after making a mess. Smh. Anyway, I rea...

I have honestly never met a host that ungenerous before. He kept reminding us not to use the shower in the guesthouse and wanted to charge extra if we use it. He even watered down all the hand soap, shampoo and body wash to a point which it is impossible to clean with those. The walls are paper-thin (literally just paper) and one can hear the people next door. There a...
First of all the host is amazing, just so warm and helpful, good english too! The place is small as the description says, it was super clean, light and plug socket by the pillow which is always handy. Powerful hot shower. Right by a train station and right by one of the Shikoku pilgrimage temples too. Thanks so much!
Other guests were very noisy (not really the hotel's fault), and the capsules don't have great sound and light insulation so bring earplugs, but otherwise it has good facilities, good staff and is in a great location
I had stayed here previously and I came back because I liked it so much. Well organized guesthouse. Check in is at 4pm but you can drop your bags before 12pm. Bed is comfy, the pod is roomy. Bathroom and kitchen are very clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. Free tea and coffee. Laundry available for 200 yen. It’s about a 25 mins walk from JR Takamatsu station which I...
5 mins walk from the ferry terminal. Staff was great! She allowed me to check in early even though the place was closed. There is a wait to use the only shower as the place was packed during obon week. Nice dining bar area which is also the reception.
The bed was very comfortable and clean and the design of having your own little "box" was conviennent. Shower was attached to a dry changing area and had good pressure. The tea bar downstairs was nice place to chill out at. The owner was very helpful and gave me good suggestions for food and places to visit and even helped me booked a wagashi class in town. Highly rec...

1. Large room 2. Cheap price 3. Airconditioner/heater is good 4. Location is superb 1. Shared toilet 2. Not 24hour shower 6~9 facewash 16~24 shower 3. The location is practicly in the port. It os extra easy to move around from there. Dormitory is nice, clean. A bit little bit overpriced, but among the cheapest on this island. Lady that is the owner or whtever she is is amazing person, warm and helpfull she adds the extra star or two to the whole impression of the stay 🤗🤗

I initially booked this hotel because of the brand name Okura. I only found out later that this hotel has already been transferred to another group. The property will be renamed in Oct. If you are staying here before then, you needa be mindful of this fact. This hotel has been open for nearly half a century. There is no way to hide the age. However, except the ...

This is a family-run guesthouse so you're pretty much getting a tidy room and that's it. I believe you can arrange to have some meals provided but you need to reach out to the host in advance. Nonetheless, there are a few restaurants nearby even (though they tend to close around 9/9:30 pm). Mr. Takeo was super responsive to emails on the day I arrived and he was nice ...
Very nice hotel friendly staff close to JR station and restaurant will try to reserve again if we come back to Kagawa
Hotel Matsukaze is a real Ryokan-style home away from home. We had a nice tatami-room with great sea view and were immediately able to relax. Food was excellent, furthermore, we had a separate room for breakfast and dinner and enjoyed the quiet and secluded atmosphere. Service was outstanding (bus shuttle to catch us from the harbor, bicycles to go to Angel Road, many ...

Good: Great hotel at an excellent location. Just 8-10 min walk to JR Takamatsu station, Kotoden Chikko station. bust stop and ferry terminal for nearby Islands (Teshima, Naoshima, Megijima, Ogijima and Shodoshima). Very close to popular shopping street in Takamatsu. Very supportive staff. Cons: 1. The Room didn't have a microwave. So we had to ask the front desk to w...
Though the fee was low enough. our room was clean and very well equipped. I enjoy the stay, much satisfied. At the checkout I made an inquiry on how to get to the nearest railroad station, and was surprised to find neither of the two receptionists were able to show the way. They told me to use a taxi, which I refused, saying I would rather walk. So they looked up the m...
It is really hard to find it out. staff is kind, but he did not tell me public bath. so I could not use it breakfast is so so.
The room is big, and the service is nice. Breakfast taste good, however it is a bit far from the town centre.
The first issue I encountered was Agodas. The room did not indicate smoking or non smoking. I added a special request for non smoking which was not passed to the hotel. The smoking room smell was really unpleasant. Please be aware of this when you book. The excellent staff helped me to change room. For both rooms, the arrangement is business hotel standard and is fin...

Older hotel, but the room was fine. Like many business hotels in Japan it only got common air conditioning, so you can't control the actual temperature yourself. Got coin laundry on 2 different floors.

Fantastic stay in everyway. The Onsen is the best ever!!
It was raining while we were checking out. We had informed the front desk to book taxis for us to proceed to the train station. Instead, they had provided us a vehicle promptly to accommodate 5 persons (with 5 pieces of luggage) without any charge. Such a thoughtful and excellent services!
