Where to stay in Kanchanaburi Province
Kanchanaburi Province hotels & accommodations

We stayed in 2 types of room and can't really decide which one was better. Both had a different layout, one was deep, the other wide and both were good. Don't forget to check the Krua Khun Tum restaurant, approximately 3 km away from the resort, they serve authentic Kanchanaburi province food.

Third time to Kanchanaburi and U Inchantree kanchanaburi hotel is the best. Nice, well maintain hotel by the river just 5 mins walk to the bridge over river kwai and local restaurants. The room is very clean and comfortable and is surrounded by a nice garden. Set sun view by the river is very beautiful. The staffs are friendly and they provide great breakfast. A good p...

Most amazing and memorable stay. Staffs were very helpful and friendly. My first time staying in a float house. Such an awesome stay. Loved very moments of it. The view was amazing to wake up to every morning. Comfortable beds. Stars gazing at night on the floating platform. Food was really delicious. Food portions were generous with reasonable price. Not forgetting th...

Very nice hotel with very friendly staff. Easy check-in and check-out. Breakfast by the river with nice views. I have been here for short breaks before and the location is perfect for the bridge and the railway station. This would be my preferred hotel in Kanchanaburi. A quiet location a short walk to the restaurant and bar area at the bottom of the road. This time, I...

My husband and Iwere looking for comfortable accommodation in Kanchanaburi. We chose Mida resort because of genuine site. The hotel offers a shuttle service from the bus station in Kanchanaburi, but you must contact the resort about your wishes.. When we arrived at the hotel...OMG... I can assure you that we remain speechless ... this is paradise on earth. The surround...

When you like nature, and back to basic for 1 or max.2 nights, this is great! No electric, only oil lamps at night. Good beds (3 per room). Very simple shower, cold water, good western toilet. These floating hotels are in the River Kwai. So romantic, so unique. Just jump in de river and let you float to the last boat, climb on board, walk back and jump again: lot of fu...

we really love the place !! it was so sad to leave. some may say that the hotel is inconvenient as you would need to take a short boat ride to reach the hotel and the location is a distance from kanchanaburi town. but we think that this is the real plus point. the hotel is private, natural and real relaxing place to be. best of all is we dont see a single car !! the ...

i was staying in the hotel for 2D1N during Oct 2017. The hotel is just newly opened in this year. The hotel is located near to River Kwai Bridge area. If you are travel to kanchanaburi via thai railway, so i advice you to get down from train at River Kwai Bridge Station instead of Kanchanaburi Station (1 station more after Kanchanaburi Station if travel from Bangkok di...

It's time to get away from busy polluted bangkok and give our self a tread of natural and clean air. Thank you to Agoda that make my trip so easy on search for a nice quality hotel in Kanchanaburi. We rented a bike from Kanchanaburi town and in 15 minutes we were at the doorstep of this villa. The service manager was very helpful, she provided us with places of interest around the hotel and we realized all of them were within the proximity of the hotel. There were not many guests at the time of our stay and we had only had the chance to stay a night as we were he...

Best hotel in Kanchanaburi for stay. We had very good time and best services with beautiful staff. King he is the best manager with services mind very helpful and beautiful nature. All staff were very polite and helpful with everything. I definitely recommend it , they are the gemof Kanchanaburi.

This would have to be the pick of hotels in Kanchanaburi. We were very happy with our stay here. We found the location very good with everything we needed nearby. With only a one night stay we hired a motorbike for 1/2 day at 150 tbh to visit all the surrounding sights. Lots of things close by. We found the hotel staff very polite and helpful. The hotel is right in the...

I stayed at the Natee Hotel on my recent visit to Kanchanaburi. I enjoyed my four night stay there very much; the courteous and professional staff catered to my every need and the room was perfect. It had an amazing view of the river, the air conditioning and wifi worked great, and the restaurant had an excellent breakfast in the morning. I also made good use of their ...

Tents were much cleaner than in prior years.. Dinners and breakfast food was plentiful and tasty. Staff at resort were friendly and helpful. Staff of parent hotel group that handle reservations (located in Kanchanaburi or Bangkok) need training in hotel customer relations. . .

The location of Ryaburi is the best location that I have ever seen in Kanchanaburi Dam. The most impressive thing in this resort is designed and harmony of chill life. Nice breakfast and room. Good for couples and couples retreat when they need some cozy place for relaxation.

I booked this place based on reviews and was NOT disappointed... especially when I realized it was directly across the river from the Elephant Haven sanctuary which we came to experience. The river villa we rented was beautifully decorated as were the grounds. The infinity pool and breakfast room overlooking the river and elephant sanctuary were spectacular features ...

Beautiful location, nice architecture, overall great experience, only reachable by a 2-kilometer dirt road. Two thoughts though: 1. For a place at this price at least have fresh coffee. Instant coffee doesn't cut it anymore in this beautiful country with a myriad of excellent coffee shops. 2. The owners of this place seem to love dogs, of which we made aware of unti...

I need to say that the hotel is located in an awesome spot of Kanchanaburi. The breakfast spot by river Kwai was nice & serene and it is surrounded by many good restaurants & tourist attractions. However, there are recommendations for improvement. 1. Found a cockroach running in my room at night. The staff had it removed very quickly, but that didn’t quite take away...

great little hotel in kanchanaburi.... about a 15 min walk to the famous bridge, and same in opposite direction to the main strip, night life etc. hotel nice and quiet, great rooms, amazing view (and we were only in the cheaper room). the owner is a really lovely guy, the breakfast, whilst not the biggest choice i've come across, was well presented, tasty and more ...

This was one of our best stays during our trip - the floatin villas are incredible - clean, modern, and very comfortable. It was well worth the time spent to get to kanachanaburi. The staff went over and above, the food was fantastic. Highly recommended... and if you’re on the fence, just do it. You won’t be disappointed. GEt up early to feed the fish in the river, a...

The River Kwai Hotel was the first 1st class hotel in Kanchanaburi. It still lives up to this standard and its reputation in terms of quality of service and the comfort of the rooms. The hand basins are a little chipped but this doesn't detract from the overall standard. Breakfast is first rate.

Our stray here was great. A little more spoken English by staff would be helpful. Buffet dinner and breakfast was good. The water heater in our room was finicky during the morning hours. It might have been due to heavy usage by other rooms on the raft... Avoid karaoke because they charge WAAAAY too much for Thailand!!! I'd stay here again otherwise, as I can do ka...

This hotel is situated approx. 25 km north of Kanchanaburi, on the banks of the River Kwai. The location is wonderful and the hotel facilities are excellent for any who wants a quiet get-away. The hotel is large and caters to large groups and bus tours (often with loud music in private banquet rooms), but this is not a serious problem. There is nowhere else to eat nea...

Approximately 1 hour drive from Kanchanaburi city in mountainous and bamboo jungle area, on the Khwae River. An extensive range of room options - the room I stayed was very comfortable. 3 pools. A range of outdoor activities, didn't ask about cost. Short drive to small village with restaurants and attractions, plus waterfalls and other cultural attractions in the area...

I live out out hotels and usually stay in 5 star resorts. When my wife said she had booked a 3 star hotel I was looking for any opportunity to spend 3 times the cost and re-book a 5 star hotel. Upon our arrival I was a little concerned as the building doesn't look exciting from the outside. The staff on checkin were awesome. The rooms are better than most 4 star hotels...
Cheap places to stay in Kanchanaburi Province

Very friendly hosts who speak very good English. Mon host Fa provides an authentic experience of life in Sangkhlaburi. Breakfast consists of varied traditional Mon food and tea and coffee is freely available. Accommodation is basic but the friendliness is unsurpassed. I was made to feel like one of the family. Booked for two nights and ended up staying much longer....

A lovely hotel based at the top of the river Kwai. We arrived by train travelling over the infamous river Kwai bridge and stopping at one of the two stations nearby (What Pho). Have their number to hand or expect to get motor cycle taxis (friendly locals gave us a lift) a little scary with a rucksack and impossible with a suitcase. Buses do not stop nearby from Kanch...

We chose the A/C private bungalow with a shared bathroom. The place was very clean, we received towels and soap, and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. We were able to rent motorbikes and drive to the nearby Erawan National Park with ease. I noticed some other reviews complained about noise and safety concerns, however this was not our experience. In some in...

I really enjoyed it here! It was so calm and quiet, the restaurant was very affordable and really tasty (some of the best pad kee mao I had in Thailand!), the room was clean and very comfortable even with just the fan. I actually preferred it to the air conditioning! I loved Sugar Cane and I would return without a second thought!

About a 27 min walk from the Kanchanaburi railway station. I had the river view fan room with private bathroom and shower. I would say bring sound proof headphones if the sound of nature does get a bit loud, but otherwise, I had an amazing night of sleep.. It gets a bit chilly at night, but they provide blankets. There's a bicycle rental place not far, and everything i...

We absolutely loved Kanchanaburi and this hotel was a major factor in this. The room was basic but of a good size and with a comfy bed. We only had cold water as that is what we paid for but it was fine as it was hot outside most days. The rooms all look out onto some sort of garden and the grounds are very pretty. The frogs make a great noise at night and the dogs are...

This is really a spacious, clean, quiet one bedroom apartment complete with fridge/freezer, hot water dispenser, and TV. (With the addition of a couple of futons in the front room, I think a small family would be comfortable here.) Pros: 1. The extremely helpful, smiling staff. 2. The inexpensive, delicious food in the restaurant. 3. A short bus ride to Hell Fire P...

We stayed in Kanchanaburi for 3 days as an alternative to doing a rushed group tour from Bangkok to Tiger Temple, and it was the best decision of the holiday- everything is much cheaper in Kanchanaburi and people seem more trustworthy. We arranged all our trips from the Canaan Guesthouse- hugely cheaper than Bangkok and there was nothing cheaper in the town. The lady s...

We stayed in one of the rooms on the river. It was such a lovely place, very relaxed vibe and clean rooms and even the shared bathrooms were clean and most of the time nobody was using them. Most of the staff were really friendly. The food is also good. I’m still confused by some of the reviews for this place, it is adorable and for such a good price. I can’t complain ...

I visited Kanchanaburi to see the famous bridge, and to rest after my journey up to Hellfire pass. The suffering experienced by allied prisoners of war in building the death railway is unimaginable, but fortunately T&T hostel has taken it upon itself to give us a tiny taste of that suffering. Holes in all the mosquito mesh so you too can enjoy a tropical disease. A bed...

Best hotel in Kanchanaburi for stay. We had very good time and best services with beautiful staff. King he is the best manager with services mind very helpful and beautiful nature. All staff were very polite and helpful with everything. I definitely recommend it , they are the gemof Kanchanaburi.

I had two nights in Kanchanaburi and stayed in this guesthout one night. Best of all, the location is in the center of downtown. My room was overlooking the river so the scene was very romantic. In the morning I saw some of guests went fishing just in front of the rooms. Next to this guesthouse, there are Mart, pharmacy, restaurants, many bars and massage shops. If I v...

Great location, staff doesn't speak English but are surprisingly still very helpful , place is extremely clean , ac runs good but a little loud , bed is extremely hard . There are pros and cons , if bed was softer I would highly recommend but I personally would stay here again because bed wasn't comfortable , but there is a couch also that looks pretty comfy

We really enjoyed VN Guesthouse for the location, price and views. Even if you don't get a river-view room (which I recommend), you can still enjoy the view of the river at sunset with a beer from their restaurant. The restaurant has good food at decent prices. There may be better restaurants around town, but we were never disappointed with a meal and beer there at t...

I have asked the owner about motorcycle rental availability before booking, he replied yes, there are motorcycle for renting. So I decided to book immediately. But when I arrived the staff said the owner is out to the aboard and there is nothing she could do to let me rent a motorcycle. What!!!! It took me a while to make her called a motorcycle taxi for me going to ...

PRO: Good for the price, with BF. Nice owner. Close to the places we wanted to visit. Facilities are ok (but could be improved). Can walk around among the fruits and friendly dogs. CON: Difficult to find, and the road not in a good condition. Insects can get into the room via window at the restroom or the very bottom of the front door. One restroom for four is diffic...

I like everything in the hotel, the friendly staff, the interior, the cleanliness, the location! It's located between the train station and bus terminal. It may be far to walk, but i always hop on a motor taxi because it's convenient and cheap! Just show the driver the address (better in Thai) and they'll let you know the price, usually it's less than 40 baht per pers...

We spent a night at this newly opened hotel after a long day at Hellfire pass Memorial Museum and Pha Tad waterfall before go to Sangklaburi the next morning. It was a wonderful experience, the hotel is lovely and peaceful, the service is excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Would love to go back there once again Highly recommended to all :)

If you are looking for some natural or chilled experience, it is definitely a great place to stay. Whether tents or rooms, you got a great view of the lake at your door way. The sunset and sunrise are just in front of you. You can also spend some time jumping into the lake. The water is warm enough till evening. Bring some alcohol and tobacco, it’ll be a peaceful night...

Stayed for only one night after staying a week at a resort further out of town. Chose this place because of its proximity to bus station as as we were leaving early the next day. We stayed there because it was a holiday weekend and there was nothing else available. Basic room, old and run down and not very clean. Location not too bad, opposite the bus station a few km away from the main tourist area - only 60 baht in a tuk tuk to the Bridge over the river Kwai. Not bad for the price but wouldn't stay there again if something else was available....

The hotel is really nice, it is just at the river Kwai. The restaurant had a super view to the river. The swimmingpool is huge and warm. The staff was kind, but they was not able give me a map of Kanchanaburi. I guess it should not be a problem in a hotel. The room was nice, like on the pictures. The only negative regarding the room was a shower. We could shower only ...

Great location right on the River Kwan, within easy reach of the famous bridge, Kanchanaburi and an easy drive to other tourist locations. Hotel is very clean and very neat. This is yet another hotel that has so much potential but obviously doesn't get enough business to keep everything up to date. There is a lot of area to walk or ride a bike, lots of beautiful places to sit and relax, nice areas next to the river. The gardens and landscaping were very nice. However we were disappointed with the pool area. The main pool was closed and...

We booked this last minute and as a family of 5 with small children it was perfect. The retreat is a colourful and magical place on a big area right on the banks of Kwae Noi. It is quite far from down town Kanchanaburi and is about 300 baht in a songtaow. There's a station past the bridge station called Wang Yen if you get the train to here it's much quicker to get t...

Lovely grounds, comfortable rooms. The main issue we had was agoda said that children could stay free, but they couldn't and they tried to charge us. After 1 hour of sorting out Agoda actually paid for the kids and a room upgrade. Would highly recommend this hotel for the area. Need transport

We booked this hotel as we planned to visit Erawan falls and this looked located a good way between the main town and the falls. It turned out it was quite a way from the main area an located with literally no shops or bars near the hotel so without transport there is very little to see or do. Sadly the pool was closed whilst we were there too which we were very gutte...

I have 3 stars for the location because of its proximity to the road. You can here all truck traffic as it passes the north side of the property. The owner was very generous to have offered and given us a bott;evof red wine. It was delicious and greatly appreciated. We will stay at this hotel again on our next visit to Kanchanaburi. Deliscious and nicely presented br...

Very well located in Sangkhlaburi, you can reach the wooden Mon Bridge in 15min. The staffs were friendly and kind to pick me up at the bus station. The hotel is very clean and well decorated, feeling like a second home. I recommend this place for every type of travelers, solo, couple or family.

The service was hopeless; smiling but they had no stock. The bars were derelict and had no stock. The spa had not been cleaned for a long time. The water in the room baths was cold; perhaps lukewarm... It felt like a place that had been set up well to start with and was then abandoned. The massage lady was good.

Overall, we really enjoyed this house. The on-grounds housekeeper was so wonderful in making sure we were provided both dinner and breakfast. The grounds were really cool for young kids to play around in, and nearby are beautiful national parks and waterfalls. We enjoyed staying here as the space was wonderful for the 3 kids and the baby we were traveling with. T...
