Traveling to Myanmar? Find Kayah hotels

We had a really great stay! The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful making our stay really easy and relaxing. We arrived really early and we were able to check-in without any problem. They have a rooftop bar, however, I think it's under utilised. There should be more chairs and tables in the ready and more styled as this is a perfect place to catch the sunset. But all in all it is a very functional and pleasant hotel. Definitely would recommend.

I had a mostly good experience at this hotel. I think it’s probably one of the best in Loikaw. The rooms and spacious and clean. The bathroom and shower nice. My only real complaint is the hotel security. The doors only have a very simple lock - like one you would have on your bedroom door at home and no bolt. My room was facing the back of the property with a barbed wired fence about 8 feet from the door dividing it from the other property where they were doing construction. Also - be warned - it can get quite cold during the winter and hotels in Myanmar don’t have heat. I requested extra blankets and wasn’t a problem. Breakfast was ok. Real fruit juice would be nice.

staff extremely warm polite and friendly, very good position in the center. The best thing was my local padaung guide, who i knew trough agoda review... she is a free lance, but i read her name on a review and it was my best option: Stella Moe (September Rose Stella on FB) is a padaung girl, who speaks a perfect english, burmese and padaung language. Very efficient, in few minutes she came at the hotel and we organized a one day tour trough the villages padaung and kayaw and for the day after a boat tour from Pekhon to Nyaung Shwe. she knows everybody so it was perfect to keep in contact with the real life no touristic at all. if i will have the chance, i will come back next year to spend more days in the same hotel, a special hug to the girl at the reception, so nice and sweet, and visiting more villages. Perfect stay!

I booked this hotel for 3 nights under "book now pay later deal" at 50 USD per night, well in advance of our trip. However, when my husband and I arrived at the hotel, we were told they don't have our booking, making an excuse that their internet was down for a few days. We didn't buy the excuse as we made the booking well in advance. They managed to find a room for a night, and we managed to book another hotel in Loikaw for the other 2 nights. The hotel expressed their apologies and invited us to the hotels owners birthday party, which was happned to be held on the night we stayed. When we checked out, we were told the room rate was 72 USD, insisting this is the date hey put online. We had a print out of the booking showing the room rate 50 USD per night, so we managed to nagotiate down to 60USD. I'm not sure what to rate this hotel, as they at least expressed their apologies, but I must say it is every traveller's nightmare to find out there in no booking and the rate is higher!

The staff tried real hard to make our stay enjoyable, but there were bumps along the way. We had them hire a taxi to take us to the long-neck village and found out the price was 3 times what we thought they said. They charged us $8 to make flight reservations, but put us on a later flight than we asked for. The problems were with the language, not from ill intent however. The staff was exceptionally kind and tried to be helpful. There is a good and cheap barbecue place across the street. Breakfast at the hotel was good. Oh, there were very few outlets to charge electronics in the room and there was no wifi.

The staff in the hotel were really helpful in organizing transport and trips and especially preparing an early breakfast when you had an early start. Whilst they worried their English was not so good, they were able to help with everything if you spoke slowly and clearly. A fabulous view of the Taung Kwe Pagoda from the breakfast room and breakfast fine - some Western and Asian choices. Only possible negative would be that whilst it was very convenient for the pagoda, it was far from the lake - so if you need lots of lakeside sunrises/sets, it may not be for you. I had a much discounted price on the room and so I was really happy with the place in terms of value for money. I think the full price would be overpriced. I would definitely stay here again, assuming the rate was right!
