Koh Kong Province hotels & places to stay

Good hotel in case you want to have a peaceful time on seashore. Having a private beach ( didn't swim neither saw anyone swimming there ) . I like to enjoy morning walk , took a bit of pictures of super moon before the walk as i went there early on beach before sun rise. Children enjoy swimming pool. Wifi not available in rooms ( not a big matter for me and family )... Be careful while check out , staff included in bill two coke which we didn't use , later removed it. F&B manager was really nice and good understanding of Halal food which in Cambodia mostly people don't. Location is a bit far ( on Thai Border so if you're visiting Koh Kong you need to pay toll tax on the bridge every time you pass . Good for the guys who use to relax in hotel.

It is a beautiful and charmful place, fit for nature lovers. Althought, it is ideal for people looking for peace and quietness as well as for honeymooners or young couple, I would not recommand this place to families with children or party oriented people, as the entire setting is not soundproof at all. The bungalows are tidy and well maintained. The staffs are genuinely kind and helpful, trying to provide with all you need the best they can (even medicine). Impressive! However, there are things to improve: 1. Rice shouldn't be charged for Asian food. 2. The chef makes the best croissant for breakfast, but it is not served or offered everyday. 3. No wifi is a big problem. Despite all, I will definitely come back!

Cannot praise the service and staff enough!! When our bus arrived, a member of staff met us to escort us to the boat. The service the staff give is exceptional! Always smiling and nothing was too much trouble. Impeccable English skills. From the moment we were greeted we felt like part of their family. The area is stunning. Wonderful relaxing view and location. You can swim in the lake outside your private deck area (the review regarding the toilet being flushed directly into the water is false and misleading. There is a tank where the waste is flushed and broken down, and when in a natural Eco floating village, I'm not sure how people expect waste to be treated?) The water is clean and fresh! Kayaks are offered free of charge which allowed us to kayak around the entire island. It was so peaceful and remote. The food was good. We ordered room service for lunch, ate in the restaurant for dinner and again in the restaurant for breakfast. Couldn't complain about thing! A good selection so cater for everyone. The room is BEAUTIFUL! It's not like a tent at all. We have travelled a lot, but this is without a doubt one of the most stunning, professionally cleaned and styled rooms we have come across. Even the bathroom was picturesque! We even arranged a driver to take us on to Koh Kong the next morning and even that service was exceptional. Pristine car and a driver that drove us to various hotels of our choice until we settled on one, all the while smiling and chatting. I cannot recommend this place enough. It is expensive(ish), yes, but worth every penny. Thank you 4 rivers for our amazing stay! We hope to see you again. Laura and John (London)

This is the first review I have written, and might be the last, it's a measure of the place that's inspired me to take the time. The Tatai Resort and Marina is possibly a bit 'pricy' for some, and out of the way, but the food and service is exceptional. There's plenty to fill in two or three days; boating to the Tatai waterfall, mangroves at sunset etc., and the Cardamom Mountain range is I'm told just a hike away. Koh Kong about 20-25min drive also has a wonderful board walk through mangroves and in the other direction the Dara Sakor Golf Club is a bit over an hours drive on the way to Sihanouk, as of Nov-15 its almost open, check before travelling. The rooms next to the restaurant are more than adequate, the pool only small, but with a river with clean water so close all that's needed. If you are looking for excellent food and service in a remote (no shopping) quiet place to relax this is it. Andrew Wallace (CEO) and his team are doing a great job.

The Apex Koh Kong Hotel is great value for the price of the accomodation. It is in a very central location - not good if you're a light sleeper, as it's directly next to a disco dance club - within walking distance of the shore, markets, restaurants and bars. The staff was very friendly, polite, and made an effort to make the guests feel comfortable. The rooms were spacious and clean, save a few cockroaches. The restaurant and bar on site were great; excellent service, good food, and very reasonably priced! I definitely reccommend this hotel as a nice place to stay in Koh Kong for a very good price.

We had a wonderful stay at the rainbow lodge. We were traveling on our honeymoon and wanted something comfortable, clean but still with a remote feeling. The owners and staff were wonderful, and the food was outstanding. You can spend your days relaxing at the lodge in your hammock or on the river, clean to swim in and very refreshing or take one of their awesome trips to the waterfall or sunset cruise. Hands down this is an exellent value for the money all meals included and they were so tasty! We would recommend highly to anyone traveling in the area. And securely get a massage while there you can't beat the price and they are to die for.

this guesthouse staff is very friendly, fast and can arrange on time any hotel and local tour requests big windows rooms, with bathroom attached , hot shover , tv: all almost brand new possible to buy drinks; no restaurant but plenty to choose around stayed longer than first planned highly recommend while in Koh Kong, centrally located...with walking distance to any place in town

Belinda Beach is terribly run down and not worth the expense. In Cambodia, $100/night gets you a premium hotel experience. Instead, we had no power for 2 nights and the 3rd night we had to move to a room that had power but no water (an disappointment given that air-conditioning was a major reason we had chosen the hotel). The pool was not useable and the lounge chairs literally broke beneath us. The "welcome drink" that you are offered upon arrival shows up on your final bill ($5 each!). The food, prepared by Benny, husband of Belinda, is delicious. Unfortunately, since Benny is both cook and repairman, his attempts to fix the power meant that we had to wait till 9:30pm for our dinner most nights. Aside from all of these problems, the most disappointing part of our stay at Belinda Beach was the terrible customer service response. We did not have a $100/night experience, and any decent hotel manager would have offered a discount. Instead, we were presented with a full bill with not even a hint of apology for the state of the hotel. It took half an hour of hard and unpleasant bargaining before we were even able to get a 30% discount. We are expats living long-term in Cambodia and we have stayed at pretty much every nice hotel in the country. I would urge anybody considering a stay at Belinda to look instead at 4 Rivers in Koh Kong, Veranda in Kep, Terres Rouges in Ratanakiri, Nature Lodge in Mondulkiri, La Villa in Battambang, Sambor Village in Kampong Thom, or a multitude of other great hotels in Cambodia as examples of places to stay with similar price points and infinitely better hotel experiences.

koh kong city is a pretty small place, serving as a base for short-term excursions or going on to thailand, about 8 kms away. the koh kong bay hotel is a simple place located on the river. the rooms are basicly furnished but comfortable and have small balconies. there is a pleasant restaurant overlooking the river, and a decent size pool. the friendly staff at reception speak adequate english, but the restaurant staff speak almost none. english, french and asian breakfasts are served. i ordered a second cup of coffee and had to pay for it. the choice of hotels in the city is very limited. i would certainly be glad to stay at this hotel again. there is another hotel next door, but the restaurant blasts out loud music (karaoke?) in the evenings.

Within the context of all of the guesthouses in Cambodia in which I stayed, Thann Tay was among the top 10% considering that the price was absolutely reasonable. The room was clean, the A/C was cold and the shower was hot. What more do you need? Perhaps, you could ask for a restaurant close to the entrance. But, Koh Kong isn't exactly a haven for modern tourism. If you need to stay in Koh Kong, this place is a pretty safe, but unexciting place to crash.

We spent 4 days here and loved every minute of it. The owner, Lisa, picked us up from our hotel in Koh Kong and checked in with us each day to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay. Her English is excellent and she is so gracious that she seemed to be everyone's long lost friend. We had a family room which was a little small but comfortable. The food is quite reasonably priced and excellent overall. The black pepper crab is to die for and we also really enjoyed the fish. We had beef dishes on our last night there and they are not comparable to the seafood dishes. The staff is extremely accommodating. I saw them set up fishing poles and take fish off hooks for one couple. They will also take you to see the fireflies by kayak in the evenings. Lisa will be happy to arrange tours for you to local sights. We went on a hike to an unnamed waterfall. She warned us about the leeches but I'd not heard of terrestrial leeches so if you go on a hike through the forest, wear bug spray (leeches seem not to like it) and be aware that they drop from trees. One problem we had was the internet was not available in our room. The internet in the restaurant worked very well so we used it there.

Koh Kong Island Resort was great. The island is very untouched so the remoteness of the island makes it more beautiful. The journey there from Phnom Penh is a long one, including a bus and a boat ride but the boat ride from Koh Kong really wasn't too bad. The food and drinks at the hotel were great, occasionally some items were limited as the island didn't have foods. This wasn't so much of a problem but often there was a delay in between ordering and finding out something wasn't available. The views were great and there were so few others on the island it was near paradise

Our stay was so comfortable here. The young man at the reception desk took care if our motorbike at nights. The beds are the most comfortable with the best linen you'll get. A previous reviewer complained about being too far from the shops but there are shops all around here (though all really small). If you rent a small motorbike and use this place as your base I can assure you this is the best place to stay in Koh Kong. I cannot mark this place down for food/dining as they don't have any. Highly recommended. The internet is a bit dodgy but this is normal in Cambodia in our experience so get a 3G SIM card. They are cheap as chips.
