Great feeling and experience. The hotel inside the castle is a great concept and the service is excellent. The package is all excellent. The only issue.... parking is a problem - stayed four days, could not park up the approach to the castle, the nearest available space was by the causeway which means about 1.2kms to walk uphill to the hotel. Just be ready for this and it'll be great!

we were made very welcome by a young man who spoke very good English. The room was a standard Greek hotel room - very clean, small ensuite, TV and fridge/minibar. Supper was a very pleasant surprise with the centrepiece a large grilled squid, succulent and flavourful. Breakfast was also excellent and served with the same enthusiasm and care as supper had been. The hotel is a few km from Monemvasia itself, with lovely views across to the rock.

Super location hidden away amongst olive groves, just 2 mins drive or 10 mins walk through olive trees from a quiet, clean and sheltered beach. The host/owners are lovely people, very welcoming and just what makes this family run hotel a perfect getaway. Fresh local produce makes up the tasty breakfast each day. Facilities were very good. Large spacious room in typical Mani style stone built propery, with good air con and outside terrace overlooking the olive trees where you can sit and enjoy the sounds of nature. The nearest beach has a Taverna with good homemade food, or just 12 mins away by car there is the picturesque town of Areopolis with a large variety of eateries and Tavernas. I would wholeheartedly recommend Kamares Villas for anyone looking for a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of a busy life.

We spent one night with my sister before visiting Mystras, the host was very welcoming and understanding. We did a late check in and two beers were waiting for us when we arrived ! Property is clean and quite and located in the very cute village of Mystras down the castle. The morning we met a French guy at the cafe when eating our breakfast. He gave us lots of tips for the visit. Lovely experience overall !

I wish I could give an additional five stars for the staff. The woman who ran the front desk was incredible and couldn't have been more helpful with dinner reservations and other travel plans. Besides that, the included breakfast was the best breakfast we ate in Greece. It was absolutely delicious and there was a fantastic variety to choose from. You can't go wrong by staying at the guest house.

By far the friendliest and nicest hotel we stayed in during our two-week trip around the Greek mainland. Not at a prime location (at the edge of town), but this hotel makes up for that by offering good value-for-money rooms (with lovely views of Monemvasia from the balcony) and an extremely friendly and helpful owner (Maria) who catered to our every need during our stay. Definitely recommended!

If you are looking for a quiet place to stay with not much other people around, this place is great. Vathy is a small village with a nice beach and hardly any people. There was only one restaurant open, when we were there (end of June), but if you have a car, you can easily reach Githio with bars and restaurants within 15 min. The kitchenette is really well equipped (we even had a frappé mixer), the next vegetable shop and bakery about 2 km away. The apartment is clean, well maintained and everything looks like new, the owner helpful and friendly.

Situated a few minutes walk from the beach, town and tavernas, this is in an ideal location. Also about 20 minutes walk from the beautiful town of Monemvasia which is situated on the seaward side of the 'island/Rock' which is connected to the mainland by a bridge. Very warm welcome from the owner who was able to give good advise on where to visit and eat. Welcome bowl of oranges together with tea and coffee in the room. The apartment was spacious with two bedrooms, separate kitchen and bathroom, all well maintained. Facilities included TVs in both rooms (BBC World + Greek channels), WiFi, Car parking.

i enjoyed monemvassia a lot. the hotel is situated on the rock island and within the old fortress town. there are no cars or bike making a racquet. you walk threw a maze of medieval streets which are being adorned by renovated restaurants, shops and bars. the people are friendly and you always get caught up in pleasant conversation. the likinia hotel is a new one, with spacious rooms that have exquisite views of the ocean. the room had many windows that could be opened to bring in that fresh ocean breeze. there was also a lovely fireplace for the night. the place was very relaxing. it's only downfall was it does not have unlimited hot water during a winter stay as you have to heat up the water. voula, the lady managing the hotel was a lovely lady and looked after all our needs. you can view the pictures on the site

Waking up an a real life castle, a true fairytale. The place is just awesome, beauty at every step. Perfect romantic place. I don't know of any other place like it. An authentic Middle Age castle town, with a perimeter wall, cobbled streets, etc. The streets and the buildings are the exact same as they where many centuries ago; the place where knights and Muslims fought for control, even a byzantine emperor lived inside this walls!! And did I mentioned the price wining buffet breakfast?, just delicious.

Pirgos Mavromichali was an amazing experience for us and the other couple travelling with us. Rooms were extremely comfortable and very roomy, great bathroom with really good water pressure in the rain head shower. Loved having the room with our window opening straight onto the waters rocky edge. The chef was sensational – food was of an extremely high standard, he deserves a Michelin Star status. The owners and all the staff were very friendly, thoughtful and helpful to us at all times. Limeni is a hidden secret and to find Pirgos Mavromichali we were so delighted. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place with us. We will return to Limeni and stay here again. Just loved it to bits! The Aussies.

The staff, there was only the owner, had little time for us and it felt as though she wished we weren't there. She charged my credit card for half the night'a fee before we even arrived and I wanted to pay in all cash. She sent us to a bad touristy restaurant, told us to call her if we had any questions but the phone in the room was not plugged in and couldn't be as there was no cord, when we told her the phone didn't work she said, 'yes I know'. This is the hotel we spent the most on during our trip and and it was by far the worst experience we had. I wouldn't send anyone there.

My wife and I stayed there for 2 nights as part of a brief weekend trip to Greece. When we first arrived we were astonished by the location and the view. The room was intimately and carefully designed, and made us feel like home. The hotel itself is very small, and feels much more like a private villa with a few suites, rather than a hotel. This makes the entire experience much more intimate and romantic - you see few people, and the privacy is incredible. The hotel allows great access to the walled town, both lower and upper, and makes you feel a bit like you were still living when the fortress was thriving. The staff were just incredible - they were always understanding and accommodating, much more than what we would have ever expected. When we were checking out at noon, when our stay ended, we asked to borrow a few towels because we wanted to go the beach. The staff was astonished - they didn't understand why we were checking out! They said we could of course stay and come back later in the afternoon to take a shower before going back to Athens on the long drive. The restaurant was also incredible. Breakfast was included, and was a la carte with a wide selection of local dishes freshly made in the hotel kitchen. Everything was delicious! For lunch and dinner the restaurant is by far the best within several miles' radius - the menu has a lot of fresh ingredients and everything is prepared simply but incredibly well. The wine list is also quite impressive, with a nice selection of local interesting wines, as well as some international highlights. Definitely a place to come back to for a romantic getaway in a fairy-tale town!

We loved our stay in House in the Castle. The owner, Elsie was warm and very helpful and answered every concern we had straight away. The venue was lovely and breezy with good block out shutters which was great for us with a young baby. The underground bathroom was lovely and there was a nice candle burning on arrival. Location was great, being on the same level of the town as the restaurants. Only couple of concerns were that the shower head isn't attached to the ceiling making it difficult to have a shower, although this might be to do with heritage laws about modifying the castle roof. The washing machine also didn't work very well. Despite these minor things, Highly recommend.
