Traveling to China? Find Liaoning Province hotels

This 5-star hotel is a little dated but still hold its own as a five-star. Very conveniently located in the center of Shenyang. I stayed two nights on a business trip and was satisfied. All the amenities of a 5-star were there and the guests are left happy. The hotel has a German beer bar -- the Paulaner Brauhaus -- which is appropriate as this is a German-run hotel.

It is very surprise that when we were arrived the hotel, the staff tell us the hotel was full and no room available to us. They had offer another so-call 4 stars hotel near-by to us, but both the hygiene and service were not good. After nearly two hours negotiation and inquiry, they transfer us to another hotel which was requested by me. Luckily the problem was solved. The hotel representative - Maggie was nice and we are happy with the end result. I’m Agoda member since 2008 and this case is the first time I meet. Hope it is a rare case and will not happen again to all agoda member.

This hotel is probably the least shadiest hotel nearest to the Dandong train station. The room (King Suite) they put me in was really clean and big. The gym had the basic exercise equipments. Food at the hotel restaurant was good as well (portion was huge for a small person like me). I had a little bit of trouble trying to locate the entrance but overall, good place to stay. p.s. The Chinese/North Korean restaurant opposite the hotel entrance is worth a check.

I stayed for 2 days. The check-in and out was fast and fuss free. The price was excellent for a room that big and clean. While the furnishings were a little dated, the room was clean, big and comfortable. In particular, the bed was big, soft and comfortable (it looks bigger than a king size). This is a big plus for me because I really don't like the hard bed in typical Chinese hotels, which makes you feel like sleeping on a plank of wood. The location was also excellent. The hotel was situated right in the middle of Taiyuan Street, one of the two shopping belts in Shenyang. However, one bad thing was that the shops in Shenyang close real early - 2030hrs!! For business travellers like me, this was tough because by the time I finished all my official meetings and meals in Shenyang, most of the shops were already closed. But if you are travelling there for leisure, this is a good and reasonably priced hotel to stay in.

Location is very good. Walking distance to the main train station. Service staff is courteous and helpful. Walmart is within walking distance. We rolled our luggages to the bus station to take the airport shuttle bus. Its not very near but as we wanted to take our bfast at the 24 hr eatery which was midway, it was more convenient than taking a cab. Bed is comfortable. Room size is adequate. Towels quite old. Hotel agreed to keep one of our luggage in their store until we rechecked in again a few days later. A small request to leave a small envelope sized item (which was not sealed) for our mainland friend to collect while we are out was declined by the counter staff. Disappointed but everything else ok.

Stayed for one night in the middle of a Shenyang winter. Usually, hotels in places where it gets very cold suffer from hot, dry air in the rooms. This hotel was remarkably comfortable. On top of that, the rooms are bigger and brighter than other Crowne Plazas I have stayed in, with very comfy beds. Decent breakfast with lots of freshly cooked food, and pleasant service. Overall, a very satisfactory stay.

The best deal of all the hotels in Kaifaqu, Dalian, China? A great location, walking distance to Five Colour City, AnSheng Mall, Suning movie theatre, iMall, Street Food Street, Hongmei with Korean restaurants, Wanda with an IMAX theatre, and a short taxi ride to Daheishan or Big Monk Mountain. All the good hotels in Dalian are clean but Citadines was remarkably clean. Also, it has windows that open, which is exceptional.

I'm a single traveler all the time. I struggle to get to one place from another purely because I'm not a native Chinese speaker. I found the Gloria online and booked because of the reviews online. While I was staying in Shenyang, I had a spare morning, so I asked the reception staff to help me find a taxi to the zoo, because I wanted to see the Panda bears. They agreed immediately. All was good, I got to the zoo, but didn't realize the zoo was so far out of the city. I rang Gloria from the zoo and asked them to send a taxi out to the zoo to collect me. I had to be at the airport in only a couple of hours. Gloria agreed to handle my "situation" immediately. Which they did. Only a short time later, the taxi did indeed arrive, with one of the reception staff in the taxi! He greeted me at the entrance to the Zoo with a large overcoat asking me if I was Ok. I was astounded at how friendly and helpful the entire reception staff were. We eventually got back to Gloria, but the traffic was very congested, so the helpful young Gloria man offered to run down to the Hotel on foot and retrieve my luggage that the hotel was keeping for me. By the time we arrived in the taxi to Gloria's front door, the young man was waiting there with my luggage. Truly, I kid you not, I've never been treated so well by an organisation such as Gloria in Shenyang, in Liaoning Province, in China. If you want a professional reference for any of the reception staff there, I'm here to give it to you now. I cannot reccommend Gloria highly enough. If all the Gloria hotels are as helpful as the Shenyang Gloria, then I've stumbled over the most professional Hotel chain that I've had the good fortune to stay at. What a terrific group of very helpful people they are. Thank you for this opportunity to air my praises to you all at Gloria, Again, thank you. Oh, while I have the opportunity....... When one is looked after as well as I was, value for money means nothing.

The hotel is great! Nice and spacious room with everything you need, but not my style of decoration. It's clean and comfortable. The hotel is attached to another hotel and at first is was a bit difficult to find the entrance. Hotel is close to shopping malls/Imax theater, but not at all close to touristic attractions. Taxis are available in front of the hotel, so not a big problem. Taxi from/to the airport about 70 RMB. Staff was really friendly and service minded! Not much English available though!

The spa and pool facilities were incredibly generous, clean and we had hours of fun there with our two kids (9mos. and 3 years). The breakfast was very tasty and s wide international variety of choices! Unfortunately they had babysitting service advertised on their websites and in the hotel directory but they said they hadn't got this service organised yet. There was also one unfriendly doorman who refused to help me and the kids get a taxi in the rain as he said he didn't speak any English...yet we were speaking to each other the entire time in Chinese!

I booked this hotel because I wanted to stay in a room overlooking the bridge to the DPRK and I was not disappointed. The room I received had stunning views of the Friendship Bridge and the Broken Bridge, and it even came with binoculars. By Chinese standards, the hotel is a bit expensive, but completely worth it for the view. The room was clean and spacious, and the staff were helpful and spoke English (they also speak Korean) better than staff in most hotels I've stayed at in China. When I go back to Dandong, I will stay here again.

The time we went was June 18. The location of the room was on the 7th floor. The air conditioning was controlled by the hotel not the guest. The air conditioning therefore really did not work. Also the room was clean but a musty smell often was apparent. Probably due to the wood platform shower mat that was not cleaned on the bottom. For a luxury hotel there were some faults but the communication was difficult because the staff was not fluent in English.

My family stayed in the hotel during the Chinese New Year. The staff was very nice and gave us an upgrade when we checked in. They also assisted us to change to a different room when we complained about the smell of cigarette smoking. Breakfast was very Chinese and worked for American-Chinese like me, but not for an American like my husband. The hotel is close to many things. Taxi is very reasonable in dalian. , it cost me RMB 8 to get to anywhere from the hotel. Carefour supermarket is walking distance, so are a few desirable Japanese and Korean restaurants.

Great hotel overall. Will be looking forward to staying here again in the future. The best thing about this hotel is its location. Located right over the best shopping district in Dalian as well as a large park and some fine dinning. If you are looking for a affordable and convinient place to stay as a tourist, I would strongly recommend this hotel as the other hotels around it, while five-star, is crazy expensive compared to this. This hotel also have shuttle bus service to the seashore area if you are interested, though we didn't go because of time restrictions.

Hotel could not find our booking, service was dreadful. Agodo were great in getting it sorted. Otherwises rooms were comfortable, location is walking distance for beer festival which was reason for our visit. So on that basis, may try again next year. Driving range is a little dated, service not great here either. Free shuttle to airport or train station adverised inroom is not correct!!! Breakfast was better than other chinese hotels i have stayed at.

A very nice hotel for the tourists of all kinds (family, business or leasure, couples or travellers), which is excellent location and good value for money comparing to others that we checked in the nearby area. Some of Staff do speak english which was helful. It was family friendly, no restrictions for kids to stay and our friends staying in the same hotel were allowed to accomodate 1 tween room for 2 adults & one 7-year-old-child, though reserved only for 2 adults only. Very spacious rooms (we stayed in standard), good soundless airconditioning. safety box at the front desk and that in the room didn't work. Towels, slippers & all other appliances (tooth-brushes & pastes, shampoos & complimentary 2 bottles of water etc provided every day. Sometimes no appropriate vacuum cleaning of the floors, but they did it when we requested or you can ask the front desk, it was no bother for us, anyway... Train station, subburban train station, bus stops and taxis, everything within easy reach right near the entrance of the hotel. A bit crowded location, but one should take it for granted when he travels in China and Dalian is rather a big City. For those who travel and can not speak chinese I would recommend to carry the guide book where all the main points to be visited are written and have them dubbed in chinese characters. That will help much and you'll never get lost. We didn't eat at the Hotel and can not adequately estimate this kind of service. However, (again abt location) we've breakfasted in the nearby cafes, most of them start to work early from 08:00 with lots of excellent but cheap food to offer. I do recommend it to all and I'll be back to stay there again no doubt.

I arrived on the 10th and have to add extra bed, the reception is very helpful & let me pay cash RMB100/extra bed though i had already paid Agoda for my twin-bed booking. When i enter the room at 13th floor, the corridor has a door to seperate the rooms fr lift area where commonly china-people smokes. The room are big enough for extra bed and the lightings are good match with the wall paint. Soothing & warmth. It has night lamp underneath the bedside table which i found very useful. Have almost no complain with this hotel except there is no wifi in the room but there is wire-broadband available in the room for free.

Of course my wife speaks Chinese, and is from this city. Therefore was able to easily navigate thru service issues at check in and during restaurant hours. The Hotel was very cofortable, check in gave an upgrade to suite which was superb. Only downfall was service at restaurant, staff was lacking however food was Top Quality cooking and taste. My second time to stay here will always stay here in the future. Really no complaints.
