Massachusetts hotels & accommodations

5 stars for everything except the buffet breakfast. A couple of years ago, we had a fabulous breakfast and were looking forward to it again. Unfortunately, this time the buffet was mediocre and overpriced, at best. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay... location, comfort, cleanliness and service-wise!

A classic Boston experience at an iconic hotel where the likes of JFK, Malcolm X, and Nathaniel Hawthorne passed through during their life journeys. Excellent proximity to the Financial District, Government Center, Faneuil Hall. Indeed, few destinations of interest in Boston are not within walking distance (5-30 minutes) and the Government Center T station (for local s...

The facility is well maintained. It’s location is good. Boston itself is pricey and for a tourist, not a place to drive in. With that, this place is well within the norm for pricing. The staff is superb. They are friendly and want to help. We had a couple of minor issues and they literally jumped on them. They want you leaving happy and succeed. Highly recommended. If...

I was in Boston for a national convention that was easy walking distance from the Yotel. The rooms are exceedingly small, but for the time I was in it, met my needs. For the solo traveler this is all you need. The best thing I can say about the room was the shower, as it was bigger than expected for the size of the room. The lobby and roof were also a plus, as the ...

Nice hotel in the heart of Boston, friendly staff and spacious hotel rooms with a comfy bed and pillows. The rooms are modern, fresh and clean, my only negative comments are that the bathroom is extremely small given the size of the room, the toilet bowl in the room was old and the bowl itself was scratched which made it look like it was dirty even though it was not; a...

Great view to the ocean, not so far away from the downtown by a water taxi $20 return if you buy a ticket from the reception. Taxi is approx $50M return, takes 20 or 25 mins with traffic, so 15 mins by water taxi is a nice trip when the weather is this nice. Room is beautiful, there is a complementary airport shuttle, staff is helpful, overall great value comparing to ...

We loved the Battery Wharf Hotel because if its front desk employee, Aaron Ash. We were late getting in and got lost in downtown Boston in a rental car. We called the hotel for directions and Aaron stayed on the line with us for over an hour and directed us block by block--a personal GPS! He was funny, patient and compassionate. We are so grateful. Then when we finally...

Was only there for 1 night - had to catch the 7AM ferry. Room was clean and recently renovated. Recent pictures of the room are accurate. Location is perfect. Right in the downtown area. Things that prevent this hotel from going from 3 stars to 5 are: The walls are thin. TV is on the smaller side. Mirror in the bathroom is small. Light Switches are all very old. ...

The AC was awful. Barely kept the room cool at all. It was muggy all week and pills I had with me melted!! This alone will keep me from returning to this hotel. Our room was noisy. Could hear all the bar noise and loud music. We were moved to a quieter room when asked, which was great. Room keys are demagnetized very easily. I had to change our keys no less than 10...

We booked a room with an ocean view and could hear peaceful glide of waves from our bedroom. Our back door opened right to the beach: woke up and in 30 seconds my feet were enjoying the ocean water! It was amazing. Staff is exceptionally helpful - we arrived closer to midnight and Gabriel helped us with parking spot, luggage and even drove on his golf cart right to t...

PROS: Rooms are spacious and clean with beds/pillows/and sheets so luxuriously comfortable. The lobby has plenty of cozy seating spaces - we had a good place to wait during the lag between check-out and our flight. Very quick access to elevators, there was always one ready. The restaurants connected to the hotel serve excellent food: Eastern Standard was our go to ...

location is absolutely amazing. downtown and only few minutes from the airport. the room was super clean and new. the breakfast is great too. giving 5 stars rating eventhought the 2 reception staff we encountered on arrival were not really welcoming the customer. I put this on the fact it was a storm day in Boston but still a smile and positive attitude would have be...

I arrived at the hotel at around 10 PM to find out our was over booked but the staff at the front desk were accommodating and gave a us a suite with no extra charge. We got to the suite and the hallways smells like cigarettes, when we got into our room there were no sheets or pillows for the pull out bed. the pull out bed itself was ripped. Went downstairs to ask for s...

We stayed at this hotel as a group. It was excellent value for money. The location was not as convenient as we would have wished as we were in Chinatown, however that turned out to be a nice surprise as the food near was cheap and good. Not too far from the subway either. The facilities were extremely clean, the room spacious (2 queen beds in 1 room), bathroom quite l...

My wife and I have been traveling various parts of the world since last year and we had been unsatisfied with the resorts in the US; until we found this one. This is a great resort that has a lot of facilities. A combination of indoor, outdoor pools, private beach, and free breakfast are rare to find in US resorts. Breakfast is great as well. For the price this resort ...

We visited for 6 nights at the end of July into early August. The resort was inviting and the staff were super friendly. We loved our proximity to the private beach. The beach was clean, beautiful sand and never too crowded. The food was good at the surfside grille and Jonah's Pub with the exception of the clam chowder. Drinks were a little pricey, plenty of activ...

We had a comfortable stay at the Royal Sonesta for 6 nights during the 4th of July holiday. The location was in a perfect spot, close enough to public transportation, a short distance from the center of the city, across a mall with a CVS and restaurants/food court. It is walking distance to the Museum of Science, and right off the Charles River where there is a path th...

This was a large room with simple but decent amenities. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The terrific price through an online booking site and the central Boston location, steps from Symphony Hall and the Green Line, made it a perfect choice for my stay. AND, since I was in town for a concert at Fenway, their offer of one night of free parking if you're attending...

I did find the Staypineapple to be quite the cute little boutique hotel and the staff were very friendly. I did however find that the $15/day amenities fee for water, internet & use of bikes to be very high considering internet & complimentary water is normally provided in most hotels I stay in for free. The bike is a nice addition but in the winter the chances of us...

I booked through two different websites. They claimed AGODA messed up my surname on one (e.g., used my middle name as part of my last name), raising my anxiety quotient, since the hotel was booked solidly (I booked a second room through another brand, no problem). Sal, the manager, remedied the situation when I arrived. We had hot water and shower problems. We go...

I booked through Agoda due to the site offering the best price and chose those property for its location. I was disappointed that my note to reserve a large (king) bed wasn’t taken into account when given a room. We were a family of 3 (2 parents and an infant) and needed the space. We made it work on a queen size bed. The room wasn’t in the best shape and smelled horri...

Excellent accommodations and facility with onsite restaurant, pool, jacuzzi, and outdoor patio and games. Unfortunately on a night they were sold out they had one waiter and one bartender so it was a ridiculous wait for service. Food also was a great selection and price but some was bland in taste. Overall very good though!

Very clean; staff was very courteous and engaging. Having the bar/restaurant on site made for a fuss free weekend. Food was great and atmosphere was wonderful in both the bar and the restaurant. We even hung out in the lobby by the fireplace for a while more than once.
Cheap places to stay in Massachusetts

First room smelled of cigarette smoke, but they quickly changed it. Second room had light mildew smell in the small bathroom Which was generally clean. Bedroom furniture was a bit oversized and slightly dented. Tired. Carpet and sheets appeared clean. At nearly $200 for the night, I'll be at with tax .... too expensive for the quality. Pleasant staff.

Pros: Great location, good price, parking and internet. Staff was outstanding, friendly and professional. Cons: Bathroom was in bad shape. Bathtub stained so bad I didn’t want to use it. Toilet seat was broken and it was broken 6 months earlier when I rented the same room.

This was my first time at an Extended Stay. I really appreciate the kitchen as it allowed me to cook my meals & prepare my lunches ahead of time without worrying about spending extra money. I was travelling for work & had worries that my dog would have to stay in a boarding facility but I was able to bring her along & she was comfortable in the room while I was at wor...

I needed something last minute down the Cape during the summer. It was cheaper than others ($147), available, and near my mother’s rehab facility. It was a second floor walk up. The room was basic but clean. The bathroom smelled, but was fine after I ran the air conditioner with the bathroom door open. The fridge was a good size but was dripping water inside. I couldn’...

Room was what was expected. However, the TV service was substandard since there was only a couple clear channels to watch. Was told coffee and muffins were available between 6-9:30 am, unfortunately after the 1st morning they were usually out of coffee and muffins when I showed up. Thankfully McDonalds was nearby. Room cleaning is only once a week unless you pay an add...

In early May of 2015 we booked at a Super 8 in Eureka, MO along I-44. We were given a subterranean room that hadn't been cleaned in 25 years, damp, smelly, dirty, awful. The internet company we booked with wouldn't let us out of the reservation until we threatened legal action. It was the worst travel experience in 50 years of traveling and we have never forgotten thi...

Hotel is located in the suburbs of Boston- access to the city center is not far away however it is far enough out that there is not any airport transit service. Rooms were in good condition and overall the hotel was clean. Cost and breakfast were good according to US standards. Overall a good stay there the only issue was trying to communicate with the hotel as the Bes...

The front desk staff were extremely friendly but our room was awful. The heater smelled like burnt hair. We could hear the folks next door on the other side of the paper thin walls very easily. They were talking at a normal volume and I could hear the whole conversation. Needless to say, we also heard them doing things we did not need to hear.

We needed a place to stay closer to a medical appointment on a day of a blizzard. The price was great and location was close to major highways. We got the cheapest rate room since we just needed a place to sleep so there was no amenities in the room - no coffee maker, fridge or blow dryer, but the coffee in the lobby was actually good, ice machine worked fine. Bed was...

Check in day was confusing as the hotel was going to charge me for the room for which I already paid in full back when I made the reservation. Also charged my credit card for $50 for incidentals for which I did NOT have any. I am VERY upset with that. Did not have a remote control for the television and it took two phone calls to finally get one.

The room was good, clean and nicely touched up. Some furnishings need an update eg. the TV and sideboard. Whilst the morning staff were warm and helpful, the front desk staff on night duty seemed aloof. The breakfast patio would have been fantastic in summer, but needs easier access during pouring rain. Overall an adequate motel with easy parking and good housekeeping....

If you happen to stay overnight to continue flying the next day, then this might be a good option. Note, if you are to book further in advance you won't be stuck paying extremely high prices for a typical room stay; as I did. The staff was tremendously helpful during my stay. I can only wish that with such prices their would have been a continental breakfast include...

With Boston in the World Series, most hotels had boosted prices. It was difficult to find a hotel near Cambridge or Downtown for less than $300/night. Although I would have preferred to spend less for a 3.5 to 4.0-star hotel in West Cambridge, Freeport's prices were comparably reasonable in the context of demand. Frankly, my expectations weren't high, especially when...

The hotel is conveniently located. Front desk staff, Cal, and the concierge team were most helpful and welcoming. All was great until housekeeping on the last day of my stay. Though the chambermaid dried up the restroom, she knocked over my toiletries. After shifting some of the items in the restroom during the cleaning, she also failed to put them back to their origi...

This is a great hotel and the location is the best. The hotel has great facilities, starting with a fun bar downstairs. The gym is really well equipped with Lifefitness equipment and lots of it. We had a Junior suite that overlooked Copley Place. As soon as you walk out the front door, you are in Copley Place and that is the place to start in Boston. It is only two blo...

I arrived at the Godfrey after 1 am and resigned myself to paying the added fee ($55) for the valet. I parked the car curbside, about 20 feet up from the hotel entrance but within the valet-designated area. I didn't take care to park it very close to the curb because I assumed my car would be moved within minutes. It was actually sort of sticking out into the traveling...

My only "con" is that I have had much better free breakfasts at the hotel chains. But this won't deter us from going back!! Beautiful place, comfortable bed, clean, friendly staff and visitors from far & wide! Hot tub in pouring rain on the edge of the sea = serenity!!

The staff was really helpful in terms of car rental assistance and printing our itineraries for a cruise. Did I mention they were dog-friendly? The room service was superb and they can even serve your pets the best food that are good for them. Food choices for their restaurant were excellent. The bar and lounge at night will keep you going even after a tiring day. The ...

Overall this hotel was ideal for us as first time visitors to Boston. Very close to many of the places we wished to walk to, stations, markets, waterfront etc etc. Chilled water bottles on each floor was a nice touch, as well tea/coffee & snacks in the foyer. The only issue we had was the advertised size of the room. Stated as 37sq M in size but actually nearer 25. Ask...

The room service was really good! Especially the sea salt caramel cake. I always like staying at a Westin hotel, because the quality is consistently good. Beds were comfortable. The only complaint I had is that the air conditioning didn't seem to get very cold.
Luxury hotels in Massachusetts

This was my second stay at the Liberty, the first being shortly after it opened. I had an excellent experience both times, and would highly recommend the Liberty to anyone looking for a high-end hotel with a modern edge. The restaurants (Clink & Scampo) are both first-rate, and Alibi, the lounge/bar on the hotel's ground floor, is one of Boston's top 'see and be seen...

the intercontinental hotel chain is consistently good from the moment you check in to the moment you check out. the location of the hotel is excellent - a short walk to the harbour to go whale watching and to get into town. if you don't mind a longer walk you can go all the way up to the liberty trail. one bugbear is that when you're paying to stay at a five star hote...

I flew into Boston on a very last minute very expedited trip for work and my wife booked this hotel so I didn't know what to expect, it was truly a breath of fresh air from the second I pulled up and was greeted by the valet to the second they pulled my car up to leave. Every aspect of the experience was top notch service. This is now my go to hotel in Boston. Keep up ...

The Boston Harbor Hotel deserve the five star ⭐️ rating! The staff, the rooms, the restaurants make it a memorable stay. The location is very convenient and the view of the Harbor makes the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend it! It is worth the price and the memories!
