Shima Kanko hotel has great location and fantastic views. But food is very expensive and not up to standard. By adding breakfast and food charges it becomes more expensive than a luxury Onsen ( it has no Onsen). There not much to do in Shima. There are other island based hotel choices which are much more value for money and to experience Japan island life style.
Nice staff, excellent hotel
The hotel has an excellent value for the money. The bedding (mattresses) can be updated to be more comfortable and the room could have some decoration such as a painting. It would be nice to have a coffee maker and a safe in a room. Of course, all that above would require a higher room charge, I understand. All in all, I will come back definitely.

Although a love motel, I will point out, that it is not dirty as one might imagine, and the cost of the room per night is well worth it especially if you are just there to sleep an out all day. Very nice hotel, staff were helpful. Could book the shuttle service between the train station and the hotel. There is a very big park inside the hotel which next to the sea, suggest to rent the golf cart at the reception. Food there were good as well.

our stay was great once we realized it was a love hotel. we had to get our door opened by staff when we wanted to leave the room. the free internet doesn't exist which was unfortunate as it is advertised on your site and others. The room itself was fantastic and we were looked after by the staff very well.

Appreciate the hotel letting me change my booking dates without penalty. Convenience store next door, close to JR/Kintetsu. Matsusaka is not a hotspot for tourists so no night life, although there's a tourist info center.
Although we stayed at a room without a private toilet or bathroom, it did not create much inconvenience at all. The ryokan was about 3 mins walk from the train station (from memory, exit from the Platform 1 side and turn left when you walk out of the station). I love the bathtub at the balcony. I felt like a king in the tub. The location is perfect as in front of the station and walking distance to Geku. The foods are exceptional! Only one problem is the price. I'm afraid many people feel it's overpriced...
The hotel was located near ama hut, we stayed there for a night. Mandarin speaking staff was available in the hotel. Our room was great and of good value. The private onsen was available at a reasonable price. Dinner was great and we were able to try a lot of Ise lobster dishes and sashimi.
They have whatever you need. Anything you might ask for is provided. The location is not really convenient- you have to walk about 15 minutes through rice fields. So don't be shocked. But for the money you pay you get very large and equipped rooms.

Requested for non smoking room/floor but there's slightly smell. Bit noisy, sound proof no so good. Overall excellent, front desk can speak English very well!!
Cheap places to stay in Mie Prefecture
5 minutes walk from the train station, the hosts are very friendly and fluent in english. Facilities are great and clean, there's also a elevator lift for those who bring heavy luggage. Totally recommended!
This hostel is very easy to be located. It's just 3 mins walk away from the Ise-shi station. It's also near one of the famous shrines in Ise. For me and the experience I had there, one of the best hostel in Japan. The building is a 100years old wooden japanese style house. And the owner, Tomomi, one of the most charming and nice people I've met in Japan. I totally recommend this hostel.

A new, nice and clean guesthouse with a very beautiful kitchen area. We have stayed in a private room for 4 which is clean and well-kept. Less than 10min walk to train station. A Lawson is just located round the corner across the bridge. Staff is polite and patient. We'll stay here again next time. Limited parking available at the back of guesthouse.

Facilities are old but clean. Staffs do not speak English well but still okay to communicate. 7-8 minutes walk to train station. Several restaurents at 3-5 minutes walking distance. May consider to stay again.

It's not a b&b nor a hotel. It's just a mini apartment within a complex not far from the station.

We booked here late one afternoon when traveling by bicycle. It was just what we needed, a place to rest and shower. Neat, clean, friendly staff. Staff spoke little English but we managed to sort everything out and they helped us store our bicycles

I had a nice and relaxing visit. The area is very beautiful, and my room had a beautiful view over the bay. The hotel has Japanese massage and a nice bath, and it is very easy for a single traveller. The buffet dinner in Japanese style was interesting for a foreign visitor, but it was a bit noisy in a large dining room with many families and children.
It is a quiet small area! The room is recently renovated that very gd for onsen hotel, hot spring is spacious ! Both breakfast and dinner is very satisfied! That’s why I booked 2nd night immediately ! Highly recommended! Staffs are nice and helpful! Manager speaks fluent English
the hotel is good, excellent onsen hotel, both dinner and breakfast are buffet, very good taste.
Stayed one night in this hotel and the private onsen inside the room is great. There are also several private onsen which you could just get in if not occupied. The dinner was great and we chose matsusaka beef as the main dish.

Owner was in hospital. His father took care of us. He does’s speak English. We cannot communicate over phone. Fortunately a lady in the tourist center helped us.

We are pleased to stay at this hotel , the free shuttle bus was big n the driver was helpful, he helped me to move my luggages into the mini bus . Staff service is good , Food n onsen is good , I like the public onsen area !
