Where to stay in Miyazaki Prefecture
Miyazaki Prefecture hotels & accommodations
The hotel was excellent in all aspects. The outlook of the hotel was modern. Staff were highly friendly and helpful. It was highly appreciated that the staff took good care of the fruits when we asked for luggage storage. They helped us to put into the fridge to keep them fresh. Onsen opened from 3pm-10am was enjoyable. Free ramen with good taste was served from 930pm-...
Would definitely recommend to travellers coming to Takachiho. Hotel is new, only opened early this year. Stylish minimalist interior, spacious room. Good location, about 8min walk from bus station, less than 5 min from the famous shrine. Recommend the beef place within 5 min walk from hotel. It was weekend when I visited, so if you wish to have meal in the hotel, mak...
It’s located on Tachibana-dori 3 chome, so a lot of buses (ex. 965) stop in front of the hotel and really convenient to move to famous attractions such as Sun Messe Nichinan, Obe, Aoshima, Miyazaki shrine, etc. I will stay this hotel again if I have a plan to visit Miyazaki in the future.
This hotel was definitely great value for money. The room was larger with a bigger than average bathroom than most typical japanese hotels for similar value. Facilities are all new. I stayed in a 12th floor, true non-smoking room. The facilities and bed were all comfortable to sleep on. As Miyazaki is country side, it is expected that it may be a little difficult to...
Overall OK but a bit outdated. Unfortunately no balcony. The open-air swimming pool only opens half of July. Breakfast buffet is quite good. Pro is the availability of some restaurants and a supermarket within walking distance. This is the main advantage compared to the Sheraton grande which is in a better state but also more remote.
Staff is friendly, especially the traditional Japanese greetings when you leave or go back to the hotel make you feel much at home. Less than 10 minutes walk from Miyazaki Station and to shopping malls like Bonbelta Tachibana. Super convenient.
I’d been on the road round Japan for a 2.5 weeks before I arrived here, and it was the perfect spot to relax. The hotel is really comfortable and we were upgraded to a top floor deluxe room. There’s a nice stretch of beach in front of the hotel and our view was great, during both rain and shine (it was October) The staff were very helpful and opened the gym for me thre...
Our trip around both covered a lot of ground and lasted for five weeks, so that meant being on a bit of a backpacker budget as far as food and accommodations went. However, we were able to get a great deal on this hotel through Agoda and we were able to spend the night in luxury for not too far over of our budget. The view from the room alone is worth the price, but t...
The hotel was very modern and airy which is unusual for a Japanese hotel. It is just up the valley from Takachiho Gorge (about 15-20mins walk away, or 2 mins drive) and it seemed like it was the closest hotel to the gorge. The room itself was huge by Japanese standards and the tatami floor beds were comfortable. There is also plenty of free parking on site. Please note...
we had an excellent time in miyazaki staying at hotel areaone. the front desk was very helpful in giving directions and maps for locations in miyazaki. in particular, one front desk manager, aya taniguchi was extremely helpful, spoke good english and as a local miyazaki resident knew how to find anything/anyplace in town. she went out of her way to help my wife and i...
I stayed here after staying two nights in Miyazaki for one night. This hotel is very closely located near Aoshima shrine (jinja) and it only takes few minutes to walk on the beach. Bus station isn't so far away, only about 5min walk, so we went to Sun Messe Nichinan and also Obi during our stay here. I stayed in the sea side view room, which was amazing to look at b...
We stayed at 2 APA hotels for our 14 week trip and this one was slightly more spacious than the other APA hotel. As with all APA hotels, all basic amenities such as bathrobes, toiletries, hair tie, cotton buds, bath sponges, were provided and topped up daily. Location was fantastic - 2 minute walk from the bus station (which has the bus to Takachiho) and the train sta...
Cozy family run hostel, we booked the biggest family room, nice and clean, though perhaps it's the old water pipes that smells, but the host tried their best to remove the odor. And I miss the nice view from our room!
The location is really good for visit of trai station, shrines and supermarket nearby- walking distance. The bed and pillow are comfortable There is a balcony Bathroom is split- Bathroom and Toilet and washing area, separately - save time. Great wifi coverage till carpark Breakfast is not too bad, can be better. Use own bathroom is enough- not necessary to use thei...
Good location which is right at the middle of the shopping and eating street. Room is spacious and clean and well-equipped. Yet, beware that there are two hotel called "AreaOne Hotel" in Miyazaki, one with "miyazaki" and this one is with "miyazaki city", so be aware not to go to the wrong hotel, the wrong one is much further from the jr station.
Compare the prices and if you have a good deal, go for it; you will enjoy all the services as expected and convenient location. However, if price is expensive, better don't come :)
2 mins walk from Miyazaki station. There is a shopping mall nearby with many restaurants. Breakfast was delicious with many choices of western and Japanese food.
I had a small room with a window that looked out to a stairway. Nothing fancy but clean and a good value in downtown Miyazaki.
My husband and I arrived at Kamigakure during Typhoon Trami. Takachiho was on the outer edge of the typhoon so the weather was bad but at least not dangerous. As we drove into the car park the staff appeared with umbrellas and a trolley for our luggage. We had a traditional Japanese style room that was enormous, the bathroom was divided in 2 with a separated bathing...
We stayed at shinsan for one night and was deeply impressed by the excellent service and hospitality of the staff there. They picked us up at the Takachiho bus station and also drove me to the Takachiho train station on the next day. The dinner and breakfast were delicious in a Japanese style private dining room. The price was in line with the superb service and e...
Value for $. although is 2 * hotel but can match 3 * hotel. Breakfast quality good. Friendly staffs. Steps to bathroom a bit to high
I have stayed in APA Hotel for three times already and this place is surely one of my options when travelling somewhere. What I like most about APA Hotel is the convenience it offers esepcially the location is mostly close to subway, train or bus stations. The facilities and the staff are also nice! Definitely recommended!
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff is super friendly; the rooms are nice, and the breakfast in the restaurant was good. We will definitely stay here during our next stay in Nobeoka!
One of the best accommodation that I've stayed in Japan. Check in was easy. Staff was very friendly and approachable. The view of the mountains, trees and blue sky was definitely a plus point for me. I wish I could have stayed longer. I am definitely coming back here again.
A nice small-size family run hotel business. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is a bit out of place, only suitable for self-drive tourists. Quiet and traditional onsen. The breakfast is nice, serve in semi-buffet style, but absolutely give you a surprise.
Centrally located and really discover a real Miyazaki at night. Great location with very reasonable price.
We actually stayed at the Miyazaki location because I thought that is where I made the reservation. We arrived late at night by train from Sasebo through Kagoshima @ 11 p.m. We didn't know that he Nobeoka hotel was an hour away by taxi, and we were exhausted. The wonderful night manager allowed us to transfer the reservation, and gave us the exact same room on the top ...
Not a top-notch ryokan for sure. Yet, it is close to most of the famous sightseeing spots in Miyazaki. Meals are fairly good if you don’t expect too much. There are no shower in the Japanese style rooms.
Very convenient for families with vehicle needing a stopover between Miyazaki and Oita
A very pleasant stay with no surprise. Room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was very good. Free coffee at the lobby area. Parking was very reasonable at JPY 500 per night. Will stay here again if I ever come back to Miyazaki.
Cheap places to stay in Miyazaki Prefecture
My experience at this hostel was awesome !! Andre, the manager, is the best ! We cooked and enjoyed few drinks with him and other guests, the atmosphere is so special and the hostel is situated just one minute from the beach and Aoshima island. You need to stay there absolutly !!
Lodge like a Samurai (bith with WiFi, bath and modern toilet) Paper walls an drafty, but stylish Japanese-Style (tatami) rooms, cleanliness excellent (but that depends on the other lodgers, of course) . Not recommended in deep winter (unless you like to sleep cold), but if you are surfing or just looking for budget accomodation, this is an excellent place to stay. Th...

Really kind and funny staff. The lobby of the hostel is a bar with a cool atmosphere which is nice to meet both Japanese regulars and travelers. The place is new so there was some stuff in progress other than that the facilities are wide and clean. The hostel is close to the JR station and buses which is convenient to raid the area. Shinpei you re the best!
Very friendly staff, nice big rooms and great view over Iwato landscape. Great guesthouse to stay for visit to Amano Iwato Shrine or Amano Iwato Onsen. Only one toilet, shower, sink on the floor however, so sometimes you have to wait a bit. Recommended!
I had a small room with a window that looked out to a stairway. Nothing fancy but clean and a good value in downtown Miyazaki.

Hotel is a little old/dirty. Windows don't close perfectly, leaving road noise at night. My room had a smell of pee, even though it looked clean. Would be good if we were told there is a bathroom on the first floor too, as another guest had taken a very long bath in the only bathroom on the second floor. Friendly staff though

I booked the smoking room because of the later book. It is very unacceptable strong smile of smoking.. Maybe Japanese like smoking.. I swear I will not book smoking room in future. Btw, I can hardly communicate with hotel staff in English.

Enjoyed staying in a clean room with very friendly staffs.

We checked in very late so dinner at the hotel's restaurant. We ordered two set dinner with main course of sashimi and fried chicken at total JPY2,700 which was a very reasonable price when compared to those local restaurants. However, disappointing with the breakfast. Only few kinds of Japanese food with very small portion pre-set on plates. Free parking was good.
Hotel is good, tidy and the room is big enough to stay with three people. The food is good too. However, If they can respond faster in replying email would be much better. As I asked whether there is parking space provided in hotel two days before my arrival, there is no any response ever. Luckily there is car park nearby. I wonder if it is a problem to tell there...
When booking the hotel, I didn't realize that there was a festival scheduled for the days I would be staying, so my options were pretty slim. Miyazaki Daiichi ended up being the cheapest option - and it was cheaper for a group of four of us to stay in individual rooms vs. group lodging. The hotel does have parking and is very close to the local train station. The st...
This is definitely not a 4 star hotel and hardly a 3 star but the fact it has some practical facilities and is new is what it has going for it. There is very little English spoken but a bit is understood. Parking is good but the foyer is small. Nevertheless check in was organized. Rooms were small but well equipped with a jug, great air con. a desk and a simple vie...
2 mins walk from Miyazaki station. There is a shopping mall nearby with many restaurants. Breakfast was delicious with many choices of western and Japanese food.
not clean and old style
The hotel is basic hotel, but in the city center, just a block from a department store, and heaps of restaurants in walking distance. Great location

Room is small, room carpet seems dirty, it has spider net at wall lamp area, noisy from club & bar around, but u will know only when u open window

Hotel did not let me know, onsen is free for hotel guests but still need to pay onsen tax 150 yen per person per time.
