New York State hotels & accommodations

The Manhattan Club Hotel is a an elegant establishment located close to Central Park, Carnegie Hall and the Times Square Theater district all of which are in walking distance from the hotel. Whilst it is not modern is charm is in its old world charm. The 26th level hosts the gym and guest lounge which is both comfortable and relaxing.

As a first time traveler to New York, the James Nomad hotel did not disappoint. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by such friendly staff. Having a red eye flight, it took the stress out of my visit for them to openly offer to hold my bags, as well as enjoy hot coffee in the lobby while I unwound from a long flight with minimal sleep, while good vibes music playe...

we stayed at the affinia shelburne for 5 nights at the end of october 2011. from beginning to end we only experienced excellence in comfort and customer service. the room was really large (new york is known for small rooms) i dont believe anyone could complain about the size of the rooms at the affinia shelburne. location - 3 blocks from grand central station. or 3...

Stayed for 11 days with sister and 2 teenage nephews. Nice hotel, good facilities, very clean, Excellent central location, staff very courteous and polite. Maureen who works on hospitalities? desk - very very informative and certainly gave us the best advice on what to see and do whilst staying in New York! Hotel owner - Joe or Mr C! makes a point to greet his gues...

I really enjoyed the friendly and cosy atmosphere of the Dylan Hotel. Staff were very helpful and the room was spacious with an excellent, stylish bathroom. The location was fantastic, just off Madison Avenue and 42nd Street. I used buses nearby to go everywhere in New York. There were excellent restaurants nearby, in particular Madison & Vine on the corner. They do a ...

Appreciated the welcome we received on check in. We were so excited to receive an upgrade to a beautiful suite with the cutest balcony which we enjoyed for the week we were in New York. Beautifully comfortable beds and spotlessly clean room. We also appreciated the kindness of security and housekeeping staff when I was ill during our stay. Thankyou for making my daugh...

Our room was perfect size not too small nor too big. Our beds were absolutely the best ever. I would recommend the hotel based on just the bed alone but the stay was very smooth from check in to check out. We had the day to stay and tour til our departure so Hitt had luggage storage access did just $5 per bag we used so we could still go through town with the kids and ...

As usual, we had a wonderful stay in this hotel! It was already our second time, and perhaps we will always return if we have the chance. The room, though not as huge as the ones we stayed in in Las Vegas and Washington, was big and comfortable enough. The interior decoration was noticeably newer and more modern than our last stay. Maybe they undertook some renovation....

It is hard to beat the location of this hotel, between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue. We could walk everywhere. While there was no coffee maker or tea kettle in the room, hot water will be delivered on request - this is a complimentary service. We would definitely stay there again.

If you want a good room in New York, you typically have to pay the price. This wasn't the case with this hotel. It's value for money, room was spacious, and most importantly, it was near important locations such as Times Square. It made my tours very easy. Breakfast could be better, but for its price, I'm glad that breakfast was included as part of the package. Wo...

We only stayed here for one night on our way to New York City but we enjoyed our stay. Everything was very clean, updated modern look in the hotel and parking was included. Check in was fast and the staff was helpfull. We would definitly stay here again.

This is a lovely well situated almost boutique hotel very close to everything you could want to do in New York. The staff were very good and we even managed to get a room upgrade which was a beautiful room with jacuzzi bath which was great after a long day touring New York. The only down side was the Air conditioning which could not be adjusted so we had to open the w...

I had a 15 year girl with the us . One of the employee said that as long as we are together and she does not stay in the casino area we were good. One of the big fat employee aproach us with high tone of voice and she turn her back and called the security 1)she is very rude2) she could have said something in a professional way like excuse me but the little girl is not ...

Our stay at the City Club Hotel was in two words amazing . I can not think how they could improve on it , it was flawless . I had read that the rooms were small but man are they well thought out , every amenity you could want and never once did we feel cramped .The bathroom was simply wonderful with the best shower I may have ever taken , didn't want to get out . We t...

Staff was super friendly & helpful, room was clean, bed comfortable, location was wonderful. Had a business dinner at the restaurant & again, staff & service was great, food delicious. If you want modern & sleek with million dollar views, this isn’t the hotel for you. If you want a clean, friendly place to explore New York from, I would definitely recommend it. I’d s...

At the price this establishment charges, we arrived with low expectations; we chose for the location and were prepared to put up with the kind of facilities New York offers at these rates. Morningside Inn exceeded our expectations at every turn; for a start, the staff is friendly, informal, and tireless in ensuring you have a satisfactory stay. The room was well-equipp...

Location was great. Rooms small but this is New York so that’s expected. Very clean rooms and we loved the neutrogena shampoo/ body wash etc! Unfortunately staff was extremely rude and not helpful at all. When I booked the hotel according to Agoda site, check in started from 3pm. At the hotel we were informed that this was wrong (check in was at 4pm) and were asked to...

Lovely little hotel, with lots of style. Wonderfully friendly staff, super comfortable bed with excellent linen. It's in one of the busiest areas of New York so noise can be an issue but if you chose to stay there you probably know that already. The only possible issue we had was over loud aircon in our room. but basically, we left extremely happy.

PROs Great location.. short walk to shows, restaurants and Rockfeller Center. Concierge and Bellhops awesome!! Very attentive and accommodating. Provided nice amenities to celebrate my sister's birthday which made her feel special. Rooms larger than most in New York CONs Drinks on site pricey and I have had much better for less in similar level hotels Rooftop bar ope...

Lovely boutique hotel, fantastic location , literally on the Empire States doorstep....staff were lovely, bedrooms spacious and clean. Bathrooms a little small but workable and only 2 lifts in the hotel which at times were a tad annoying, best value for money we’ve had in New York, would not hesitate to stay here again .

We wanted a hotel - not a hostel, and New York hotels are very expensive, so I was a little wary about this one, but I need not have worried. The Windsor is a boutique hotel next to a park, ideal if you want to get to know real New York people. Grand St station is around the corner, so it is easy to travel anywhere - the 7 day pass was great value at around $29. Easy w...
Cheap places to stay in New York State

A great hostel in an excellent proximity of the Niagara Falls (about 15-minute walk). A very friendly staff with recommendations of nearby attractions and activities. Free wifi, computers to check your email. Great breakfast (almost buffet style) and all pretty clean and quiet on a weekday. Good price.

Provided the other guests are not burdensome or annoying, this hostel literally has the best facilities of any I have seen in my trawls through NYC. It's a bit of a challenge to get to/fro off the L line, and sits right next to a swatch of public housing and sketchy backroads, but on the whole - if you can get in here - it's worth it and decked to the 9s with graffiti-...

Was looking for a easy location to get around town with ease. Was in NYC for the Jamiroquai concert and celebrate my birthday weekend. I have to say your place did not disappoint. I plan to come to New York again and you will have my business again. I will highly recommend the Local Hostel.

Great hospitality and staff! Very near the airport but a good 30-35 mins from the Falls. Enjoyed the guest appreciation welcome snacks (every Tuesday evening). Good restaurant, departmental store next door. Check for complimentary breakfast inclusion prior to booking. Airport shuttle available

I was concerned when I saw this hotel because it was only 2 reviews. But I book my hotel so last minutes before New Year trip. This hotel was cheapest and I didn’t have budget for other expensive hotels. So I booked Giorgio before my trip prior 3 days. When I arrived, the hotel was clean with king size bed. The service was nice. Location is excellent, it’s so close t...

Breakfast could have an egg option. In today’s world people are starting to be a little healthier, but the fruit offered was less than desirable. Less carbs and more protein options perhaps. The time for breakfast was a little short as well. Extended an hour to 10:00 would be more convenient. Overall, the staff was excellent, the rooms were super clean, and we enjoyed ...

The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, for all of the 5 nights I was there. The room was small, but clean and up to expectations. One end of this motel in the shadow of the Thruway (I-90) so during busy times you might not be able get a room at the other end, as I did. A big plus for me in July was the small outdoor pool, which was nearly empty on weekdays...

Stayed at Bed 307E, the room is spacious with high ceiling, not feeling crowded at all with 4 other travellers. Hostel location is superb walking distance to all things. close to Metro stations for lines connecting other parts of New York. My favourite spot is definitely Central Park, nearly every morning i went jogging and working out there because it is just so close...

I had to book a last minute flight to NY and could not even find a couch in Williamsburg to sleep on. Air BnBs are an unknown factor at best and are only readily available at this price out in NJ. For 45$ a night, I wasn't expecting much, but it was very safe inside and out. I didn't have to worry about my bags at all since I had the option of storing them in the lugga...

Good value for the price, front desk people nice and helpful. Only irobkem is that the side door that’s on Western Ave is STILL UNLOCKED AT NIGHT even after I specifically complained to both the manager and corporate several months ago. A vagrant drifting down the main road, which this hotel is on, could enter the hotel at night, bypassing the front desk (the door is l...

This type of accommodation wll not be for everyone, but for me it was really great. The shining star that I want to comment about first is Breakfast. It is just superb. It is a meat-free menu but it's a 10 out of 10 from me. Cereals, different breads, meat free toppings, fresh organic fruit, Ground coffee. Provides a great start to the day. Staff are, by and large, hel...

There was a coffee maker, iron, hair dryer, microwave, and fridge in the room. The location is easy on/off the highway and surrounded by plenty of stores and restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful enough to get us the key and on our way to our room in under 5 minutes. Basic breakfast options in the morning but its just enough to start the day.

Decided to book a hotel room for a night to get a break fro work and family duties. Wanted a place that had some sort of entertainment activity. Absolutely loved the hotel, definitely a high end hotel, and having a casino and multiple restaurants on premises made for a fun night. Didn’t get a chance to use the pool so I will have to come back again! Live band playing g...

First time to get a dormitory-style accommodation and it was a great experience as place is small but cozy. Budget-friendly accommodation near a Metro station. Meet new acquaintances from other hemisphere. Hope staff would be more approachable, but in general I was a satisfied guest.
4-star hotels in New York State

The Manhattan Club Hotel is a an elegant establishment located close to Central Park, Carnegie Hall and the Times Square Theater district all of which are in walking distance from the hotel. Whilst it is not modern is charm is in its old world charm. The 26th level hosts the gym and guest lounge which is both comfortable and relaxing.

we stayed at the affinia shelburne for 5 nights at the end of october 2011. from beginning to end we only experienced excellence in comfort and customer service. the room was really large (new york is known for small rooms) i dont believe anyone could complain about the size of the rooms at the affinia shelburne. location - 3 blocks from grand central station. or 3...

Wo...

We t...

Great location, decent price for New York, slightly noisy air-conditioning, room a bit small but probably average for New York, minimal hotel facilities but offers a gym walking distance away from the hotel, no pool/spa/sauna/games room. $30/day Extra fee charged to force you to drink 2 drinks at the hotel bar, but we met some nice people there (other "forced" guests)....

We stayed here for several days. And just walked around, except when we were on the bus tour. :) The tour agency, where we picked up our New York City Pass, is just a few steps away. So that was really convenient. And the tour buses are just around the corner. Perfect! Another thing I loved about this hotel are the staff. They are so helpful. The kingroom was clean a...

The hotel is really beautiful, very luxurious, excellent location, walk-able to Garden City restaurants and shops. The best part about the hotel is the staff. Christina at the front desk was excellent Emilis at the Kings Bar was very nice, great service, tasty cocktails. Can't wait to go again :-)

I would have given it 5 stars across, but upon checkout I was surprised to have a $33 a day facility fee that was never disclosed upon my booking or at check in. The ‘free water and wifi and access to a gym’ were the reasons for the fee when I inquired. Already a very expensive hotel, the extra $125 upon check out felt like a blow. But on the great side the hotel was f...

This is a great place to stay in New York, we were 2 couples staying in two apartments and we were all very impressed with everything, the staff were extremely helpful, the apartments were very clean and modern, location was great, cleaning staff were very good, overall we would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and anyone wanting to spend a week or two in...

I was very happy that my room was upgrade. I was received by the warmth welcome from Mr Mamuka and Miss Isha Jihan and I just feel that Paramount Hotel is my second home. Mr Mamuka remembered me that I ever stay at the hotel before. Miss Jennifer and Miss Janet are marvelous too and helpful. In fact all the staffs in Paramount Hotel are friendly and cooperative....

the bf and i decided to stay an extra night in nyc so we decided to book through through . the staff at sheraton had a difficult time finding our booking at first, as we had booked the previous night and it wasn't showing up in the system. location is key! this hotel literally sits on top of the b,d, and e train. 5th avenue's infamous high-end shopping street is just...

Our stay was great until you went for a shower... the temperature was not consistent for the hot water. we had to turn the knob all sorts of directions to get it hot. The walls of our room were thin so thin we could here the conversation next door to us! It almost seemed like they were in our room at one point! Other than that the view was awesome! Pillows are a little...

This hotel gave us such an amazing New York experience. It is ideally situated on the edge of Brooklyn - there is a 10 minute walk to the nearest Subway station (the hotel also has a shuttle service so they can drop you off at the station). The hotel is also one station away from the island of Manhattan, so for us it felt very central. Housekeeping does an amazing job...
Luxury hotels in New York State

PROs Great location.. short walk to shows, restaurants and Rockfeller Center. Concierge and Bellhops awesome!! Very attentive and accommodating. Provided nice amenities to celebrate my sister's birthday which made her feel special. Rooms larger than most in New York CONs Drinks on site pricey and I have had much better for less in similar level hotels Rooftop bar ope...

Great experience, for the second time at the Helmsley Park Lane.We arrived late at night and had an upgrade to the executive suite with the Central Park´s viet, which makes all the difference while in New York. The suite had very confortable beds and was very clean. The room service is very fast and good.Next time, we´ll stay again at the Helmsley Park Lane, now, our h...

William Vale did not come close to meeting the expectations, or for that matter the requirements of a 5 star hotel rating. On the positive side, the rooms are nice, bright, clean, and reasonably sized for New York. The location is w/in walking (10 mins) to 2 subway lines, one of which (L) gets into Manhattan in 1 stop, union Sq. in 3. There’s plenty of good food ...

Pro Location is not too far from places of interest. Cons Upon our arrival on the 31st of Aug, we were told that they were overbooked and had to downgrade us to a smaller room on the first night with 150USD credit to dine in the hotel. WHAT DOES OVERBOOKED EVEN MEAN? We booked via Agoda on the 13th of July and paid in full. The fine print in the Agoda receipt clearly...

The rooms are lovely but dark and the layout of our suite was a little disconcerting as the wc was away from the shower and sink. Something different. Love the vibe though and would stay again. They had some problems with finding our reservation and tried very hard to make up for it later. 5* for service and keeping their guests happy. I loved the location and found it...

The Trump SoHo is simply first class, in a league of its own really. From the moment you arrive till the moment you leave, you feel taken care of by an attentive team for whom no request is too much. And all without giving you that feeling that you are intruding at a fancy party. You are always made to feel welcome and more like a resident, than simply a paying custome...

Lovely time spent in New York. This hotel is in a very good location with easy access to Times Square. The staff were polite and absolutely lovely and made every effort to ensure we were well taken care of. Would definitely return and highly recommend.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Wagner Hotel for a total 6 days. 3 days of business and days of vacation. I have to say it was one of my best experiences in a very long time. I travel a 4 months out of the year for work and it was the first time in years were the hotel staff made it their business to know who you were, what you liked to drink, and what paper you...

There is a lot of hyperbole in the description of this hotel on the property's website. Admittedly, the location is excellent - very near almost anything a visitor to NYC wants to see and very convenient to public transportation. The staff was friendly and the hotel was very clean. We reserved two rooms- one for my husband and I and another for our son and his girlfr...

This is my third time staying at Conrad New York. Staffs are extremely friendly and helpful, particularly the Bellboy. They smiled and greeted all the guests who entered the hotel. I was there 6 months ago with my family and this time, I was there for business purpose. The Bellboy remembered me well and asked me how was my family doing. I was very impressed. The clean...

this hotel is located in a super chic and happening area of new york, where you can walk to some of the best restaurants and enjoy nightlife, clubs and music just blocks away. the concierge can book you at the exclusive rose bar or get you hard to find reservations. the rooms have dark red velvet curtains, and are quiet and good for sleeping. on weekends, there's a you...

very nice hotel. my first impression when i walked into the lobby was wow, very nice. the room was spacious compared to other new york city hotels i've stayed at. i love the location, the hotel is within walking distance of time square. the staff was very friendly and i will definitely stay here again. i would also recommend this hotel to my friends.

Everything was perfect! We stayed in Park Executive one bedroom suite. The view was amazing! The space is huge (bedroom, dining/living room, kitchen and 2 bathrooms). It’s very quiet in the hotel. There is a good , restaurant in the hotel (Jean Gorge - 2* Michelin). The location is good if you want to walk in the park, visit the museums and have a shopping in 5th aven...

Very good service and check in information. The room was very well presented and furnished, but a little small and had no view at all, which was a shame when we were right on Times Square. There was some confusion regarding breakfast as it was included on our Agoda booking but this hadn't been passed onto the hotel. We were eventually given coffee, juice and some pa...

Beautiful boutique hotel! Impeccable attention to detail. The hot springs are a MUST. Delicious breakfast, luxurious rooms, a trendy rooftop bar with an impressive fire pit which is both cozy (especially an a cool night) but great for a social gathering! Very friendly and accommodating staff. We are frequent travelers and this is one of the nicest hotels we have sta...

It's the most interesting place to stay in the area. Decent breakfast, small kitchenette and exceptionally large rooms. The former National Guard Armoury has been turned into a castle-like setting, which works OK. It's a unique building and comfortable accomodations.

Nice location. Several good restaurants and shops are nearby. The bedroom isn't on the street side, insuring quiet at night. I liked the antique desk in the room off the living room, which was good for reading and writing. We'll definitely be returning.

The walls, carpets, curtains are stained. The smell is horrible! There is very loud construction on the highway right outside at midnight, when we checked in.. We literally checked in at midnight, turned around and left. The hotel is supposedly being remolded, which it desperately needs, I am surprised Marriott is still putting their name on this hotel before renovat...

This building has been around for decades and it shows in some of the details such as the old elevator, the shallow bathtub, outdated furniture and a rather stodgy ambiance. Nevertheless, it's location is the best and their service is just great. If you're not looking for a state of the art, dernier cri hotel, this hotel is just fine.

If you want a New York high-end hotel near Central Park that is quiet, exclusive and has great beds. This is it. Some rooms low floors on Park avenue can be noisy if you want to sleep late. I like the back facing rooms with no view, because they are dark and super comfortable and renovated. The beds are great.
