Where to stay in Ninh Binh
Ninh Binh hotels & accommodations

The hotel is in very good condition: modern equipment, simple but elegant decoration, very clean. We spent 2 nights here and really relaxed. The location is in centre of the city, far from sightseeing places about 7-18km, my family used taxi/grab to travel so no problem with location. Price is rather good compared with resorts in Ninh Binh. We highly recommend this hot...

The hotel is very close to everything you want to see in Ninh Binh area. Short walking distance to Tam Coc, Bich Dong Pagoda and Hang Mua. It was only a 10minutes taxi ride to Trang An. The hotel is surrounded by rice fields so you get beautiful scenery anywhere you go. The facilities are excellent. Very comfortable bed, clean and spacious room. Just what you expect fr...

Two of us settling in to 3 months working in Hanoi, visited Ninh Binh to get away from the hustle bustle of Hanoi. We haven't been to this area before so looked for a place to use as a base to get a first idea of the Ninh Binh area, and the Legend Hotel fitted the bill, booking easily online. We caught the early train from Hanoi to Ninh Binh, bought tickets easily at...

This big, new, gleaming hotel sets a new standard for the more humble town of Ninh Binh. You can come here and enjoy 5 star treatment and facilities. Although they are still building parts of the hotel, if you arrange with the concierge to use the pool or sauna, they will have it ready for you within 30 minutes. All the staff are very excited about their new roles in...

This Hotel was a very pleasant surprise. It was modern, clean and our room was huge. Although not close to the central business district as a walk it is close enough by taxi or scooter. Unfortunately communication was a problem here in this Ninh Binh hotel. English is very limited but the usual hand signals and some words got us through

Great, scenic property with beautiful water lily ponds and classic VIet Nam decor. My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights on our honeymoon - it was a great base to explore Ninh Binh and the setting is beautiful. The 1 huge lotus ponds provide a lovely setting for breakfast, dinner or afternoon drinks. The bamboo rooms are comfortable and generously sized and the sta...

The perfect hotel in Ninh Binh! We unfortunately got sick on the way to Ninh Binh from Ha Giang and were quite ill during the early portion of our stay in this beautiful city - what was amazing about Camellia Hotel was that the hotel staff and owners took such great care of my girlfriend and I, we were so happy we chose this hotel. The rooms are some of the cleanest in...

We had a great stay at Thanh Dat Homestay, so much so that we stayed n extra night. Thanh & his family are very friendly & accomodating - nothing but good things to say about them & their hospitality. The location is within walking distance to the main Tam Coc strip with bars, restaurants, shops etc, but is nice and quiet. It is close to a few tourist attractions also....

Excellent homestay in Tam Coc! We were supposed to arrive in Ninh Binh at 1700 but our train was delayed so we didn’t arrive until 0030. We had to wake the family up and felt so bad, but they immediately put us in the bungalow and told us to sleep instead of checking in right then. This wasn’t the room we had booked but Lan insisted we keep it and pay the double room p...

You go to Ninh Binh city to get out of Ninh Binh city. Thuy Anh hotel is located in the middle of the town, such as it is, but the real advantage is that it's a clean, comfortable, nicely appointed hotel that can set up tours of the surrounding countryside. The staff was exceedingly helpful and thorough, better than in most hotels I've been to in Southeast Asia.

Staff (Van) was extremely helpful and accommodating with our stay. Since we booked an overnight bus (Chez Loan helped us with the booking), the hotel was kind enough to let us use their shower after check-out. They are located close to Tam Coc and provide free bikes to get around. Overall, a very pleasant stay!

My girlfriend and I stayed in the bamboo rooms and it was excellent! the rooms were very clean and looked great with the bamboo siding. the location was great, literally staying at the base of one of the vertical rock mountains and very close to mua caves hike. The staff was very helpful and the food was awesome as well! Highly recommend staying here in ninh binh!

We LOVED our stay in buffalo! Staff is amazingly friendly and fun, bungalow are big and clean (although everything is humid but not their fault). It is located far remote from Ninh Binh center (10min) or Tam Coc (20min) but worth it! You will be in the middle of the rock with a nice lake in the middle! The real Ninh Binh experience! We rented scooter at the hotel (7$ ...

Best homestay/hostel I ever stayed at! If you’re looking for a peaceful place, away from busy Ninh Binh this is the place to be! The host family is absolutely lovely and helpful. everything worth visiting is very close. Also the views are just incredible. Enjoy your free breakfast served in the middle of the rice fields before you go discovering the area. Property has...

The Vancouver is absolutely 1st class all the way. It was just renovated and expanded in the last year (2016) It shows, the rooms are gorgeous. Great bed, linens, bath fixtures etc. Breakfast is made to order and great! A very nice staff and they have a taxi take you to the bus or train station for free upon leaving! (It's only about $1 anyway from the train st...

Tam Coc Garden Homestay is a beautiful place. It has hills and greenery around that provides for a relaxing view. The staff are very friendly. The "bungalows" are made of bamboo and are really nice and comfortable. It's a simple homestay so there is no phone to call the reception or a kettle. So if you want to have tea/ coffee in the middle of the night, bring your ow...

it was a great place to stay in Ninh Binh, when you are doing the Tam coc boat ride, you will passed by this place. you can just seat on their restaurant to see the boat passed by and it was a relaxing sight. they also provide bicycle & motorbikes to wander around Ninh binh. im definitely go back to this place and recommend this to everyone.

Second place we’ve stayed at in our Hanoi Tour. Nam was such an excellent host! The location is very very great. Smacked dab in the middle of Ninh Binh. It is very near the restaurants but far enough that you’ll have a peaceful stay without all the buzz. Our room was with balcony and I would recommend this if you’d like to have some more privacy as its away from the o...

If you're going to stay in Trang An opposed to the city center of Ninh Binh, this is hands down the place to stay! Scenery/landscape was beautiful. There was a large garden and many tables/lounge chairs right on the river. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Free breakfast was satisfactory. Other food items were a little expensive for Vietnam, but the prices were...

Absolutely loved my stay at Tam coc tropical homestay. The owner was so helpful and welcoming and really went above and beyond. I hired a motorcycle so I could explore easily and visit friends and he even emailed me late one night to check I was ok as I hadn’t returned yet. He stayed up to let me in, I thought that was really sweet! The breakfast was great and it’s wa...

The highlight of ninh binh was the surrounding country side and our friendly staff at the queen hotel. Our first day in ninh binh was pouring with rain so tuan and the team taught us Vietnamese for most of the day. I played my first Vietnamese sport, 'shuttle cock' soccer with them and they were nice enough to take us walkig around ninh binh one night. There isn't much...

We loved to stay a few days in the bungalows of Tony‘s family! Everything was so new and clean! The family and tony were so helpful and attentive!! They gave us a map of Ninh Binh and surroundings with some beautiful points to visit. We borrowed a motorbike and bicycles from Tony. Also the breakfast was great and fresh! Thank you Tony for the great time!

Our stay at the Ninh Binh Family Homestay was perfect. The homestay is in a small village just minutes from the Bai Dinh pagoda. The property itself is incredible with dense foliage and trees everywhere as well as gardens and farms. Our room was immaculate upon arrival with plenty of towels and hot water. Bottled water was in the room waiting for us. There is al...

I stayed here for 3 nights, spent one night in the mixed dorm and 2 nights in a private room, both where very clean and comfortable. The staff are super, the host kindly took me into ninh binh to buy my boyfriend a gift and cake for his birthday. And one of the giys that worked in the bar taught me how to carve fruit into flowers. They also have a great bar and balcony...

Let's etablish the TRUTH about this hotel. I admit to have chosen it because of its excellents rating (...). So, if you don't mind: -Horn blasts all day long (starting 5am... forget sleep late here) (because of the high way just close to the hotel and contruction works around) -Stinky bathroom (yummy waste water smell) -The hotel is really far from everything (12km of...

We went to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Ninh Binh and were forced by the weather to spend a lot of time in the hotel. The staff was great! They were very accommodating and helpful but communication in English was sometimes difficult. We found it to be a very restful and quiet place to stay. We walked the grounds and enjoyed the Buddhist history. If you are looki...

Pretty cool location with nothing to obstruct views of the Ninh Binh "mountains". Quaint, peaceful, lovely staff, motorbike and bicycle rental available for low daily prices. 2 minutes walk to Tam Con Lake - boat tours and great restaurants. Most of Ninh Binh is an enjoyable cycle ride - all easily reached from here. Rooms are high quality hotel rooms. Clean, air...

We had an amazing stay with Jasmine and her family at Ninh Binh Mountain View Homestay. Jasmine is the most friendly and welcoming host you could ask for. Even in the short three days we were there I witnessed Jasmine: go out at night to get medicine for a sick guest, make breakfast for guests leaving extra early, teach us how to ride a motorbike, give Vietnamese lesso...

My family and i stayed here for two nights and were very pleased with how clean and comfortable the rooms were. The staff was very helpful in explaining what there was to do and see in Ninh Binh, and even had scooters to rent for about $7.50 a day. The breakfast was simple but well done, considering how cheap the rooms are. I am very pleased and will stay at this ho...

I was travelling with my adult daughter. The surroundings of the hotel is nice, it is right in fromnt of the place where the boats leave for a ride in a beautiful river. The little village is also nice. But if you want to be close to Ninh Binh, this is not the place. The service was suprisingly unpolite and tired at the counter, but the restaurant personality was very ...

From Da Nang, we arrived early morning at the Ninh Binh train station and as soon as Ninh Binh Central Hotel opened before sunrise -- yes, they have closing hours but this shouldn't be a problem -- the couple who owns and runs the inn assisted us right away with our travel plans. They booked us 7-seater car -- a Toyota Fortuner -- for our family of five at a really go...

I stayed here one night but would have stayed more just to enjoy the place if I had more time. The common area/check in area is very relaxed and where they have a TV and where the owners are around if you need anything. When my bus ride departing Ninh Binh was cancelled (booked through another Homestay), he called his friend and got me the last seat on another bus that...

We travelled by train from Hanoi and after one night and day spent in Ninh Binh continued by train to Hue. The hotel is in front of the train station, it is very clean, staff let us have a shower before our departure free of charge in one of their rooms. They even gave us bottle of water to the train free of charge. We rented motorbike there and everything went fine.

We had a great time at this place and can recommend it wholeheartedly. Probably the best about it all is the friendly host (the son of the family). When we arrived he gave us a map of the surrounding area and explained us which places we should visit. This might sound like he just gave us some helpful hints. What he rather did was present us with several completely pla...

Had a comfortable few nights' stay at Go. The complex is really big and spacious. It used to be the old railway station and the renovation has taken care of preserving the ambiance. They screened the Euro on a big screen which was great. There is a pool table and two nice common areas to socialize and meet new people. The beds are comfortable and provided with a perso...

Our stay here was very memorable! The staff was very accommodating and they were very eager to learn English. Since we travelled with 2 university culinary / hospitality professors, they taught them some basic English phrases and some hospitality lessons. The lobby is located directly beside the limestone karsts, which makes this a one-of-a-kind accommodation. The roo...

Our family had a fantastic stay. The room was spacious, clean and had lots of extras that we appreciate such as table and chairs, wardrobe & bedside table. The family who own the hotel were very accommodating and helpful. I would highly recommend Thai Thuong Hotel.

If you're going to Ninh Binh it's likely because you're there to see Tam Coc etc. This location was good because it is close to the sight-seeing areas. They have a happy hour deal that gets you 1 beer (they say two glasses but that's about 1 bottles beer), rice wine and some nuts to snack on. The rooms are comfortable- the beds have clean and comfortable mattresses and...

The family who runs this homestay / guesthouse is so fantastic. Staying here ended up being one of our favorite experiences during our two months in Vietnam. The basics -- our room and bed were super comfortable, the shared bathrooms spotless, the courtyard nice for lingering. Breakfast was included and fantastic. We rented bikes for a very reasonable price, and foun...

Close to all the major destinations you would want to check out in Ninh Binh. The accommodations and vibe of the hotel was great. Staff were very friendly and the hotel is family owned which is nice. They have spacious private bungalows and dorm rooms as well as scooters for rent. Value for what you get is unbelievable, would definitely stay here again.

Tam Coc Garden Homestay is a beautiful place. It has hills and greenery around that provides for a relaxing view. The staff are very friendly. I stayed here several nights. The location is very convenient as a base to do daytrips from. It's almost directly opposite the Tam Coc boatride boarding station. It's also where most busses stop, so you can just walk to the hostel and don't need to take a taxi. The hostels rents bicycles, which I highly recommend for exploring the area. My bike broke down on the secon...

Food is normal, acceptable with reasonable price. A nice place to visit Ninh Binh and to know vietnamess countryside atmosphere. I will be back if i have a chance.

The Hotel is located at approx 12 Km from Ninh Binh city. Its in the interior of Trang An. We truely enjoyed out stay at the hotel. The staff was so nice and helpful. First of all, I've been in Vietnam for 9 weeks and this has been the best homestay! Secondly, I never write reviews but felt compelled to do so on behalf of the excellent experience I had at this place! This was without a doubt our favourite homestay we’ve stayed at in all of our 6 months of travelling. The family are just lovely! Ninh Binh is a captivating destination that often flies under the radar, yet it's brimming with unique attractions and breathtaking landscapes that are waiting to be explored. One of the must-visit spots is Tam Coc, often referred to as "Ha Long Bay on land." Here, visitors can take a leisurely boat ride through serene waters, surrounded by towering limestone cliffs and lush rice paddies. The experience is truly magical, especially during the harvest season when the fields are a vibrant shade of yellow. Don't forget to snap some photos of the stunning scenery, as it's a perfect backdrop for your travel memories.
Another hidden gem is the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site that offers a unique blend of cultural and natural beauty. This area features a network of rivers and caves that can be explored by boat, allowing travelers to witness the stunning karst topography and diverse ecosystems. The tranquil atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life. While you're there, keep an eye out for the ancient temples and pagodas that dot the landscape, adding a touch of cultural richness to your adventure.
For those interested in history, the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital is a fascinating site that showcases Vietnam's rich past. Once the capital of the Dinh and Le dynasties, Hoa Lu is home to well-preserved temples dedicated to the kings who ruled during that era. Walking through this historical site, visitors can marvel at the intricate architecture and learn about the significant events that shaped the region. It's a perfect blend of history, culture, and stunning natural surroundings that shouldn't be missed.
Experience the Best Time to Explore Ninh Binh
Timing your visit to Ninh Binh can significantly enhance your experience. The best time to explore this enchanting destination is during the spring months of March to May and the autumn months of September to November. During these periods, the weather is pleasantly mild, making it ideal for outdoor activities and sightseeing. Spring brings blooming flowers and vibrant greenery, while autumn showcases golden rice fields ready for harvest, creating picturesque landscapes.
Additionally, local festivals add a unique flavor to your visit. The Bai Dinh Pagoda Festival, held in the first lunar month, is a vibrant event that attracts many visitors. Here, you can witness traditional performances, partake in religious ceremonies, and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
