North-Holland hotels & accommodations

I always dream to visit Holland especially Amsterdam. However, my dream was reality last week where I came with my lovely girl from UK to Amsterdam. Once we arrived at the hotel, we were impressed of the great location. The staff in reception was very helpful, smiley, and polite. With regards to the disadvantages, I noticed that there is only a single mirror inside the...

We stayed here during the second half of our stay in Amsterdam and it was much nicer and bigger than our previous hotel. As some reviewers have stated already, the hotel is in an older building but most hotels in Amsterdam are. Our room size was huge (I'm not sure if we got upgraded or if it was the standard room we booked) and it had a nice, comfortable king size bed....

Triple Room 141 - Room was big enough but absolutely no view from the window. All triple rooms are like this so bare this ini d of booking. 3 amazing things that would make me use this hotel again..... 1. The staff - they we’re so friendly and could not do enough for you. 2. The breakfast - I eat in hotels a lot and this was by far the best breakfast. Prosecco ...

The cab to the hotel was 20 min approx 50-60 Eu, which was worth the price w/ luggage. We were escorted up to get a review how the lights/power work, which was very helpful- different than the USA. We had room 217 over looking the street and it was quiet. There were several perks like flavored water, juice , chocolates, baked goods and the coffee/espresso machines. The...

Ok.so everyone is allowed an option but reading reviews after you have booked can be quite daunting. Well I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how good the blyss was our room for 4 girls was 303 and u would recommend that room if there is a group. We all had our own comfortable single bed and really enjoyed our trip. As a regular to amsterdam the location is su...

We have just spent 11 nights in this lovely hotel in the tranquil Oud Zuid neighbourhood with it's huge trees. Great location - my husband could walk to the RAI Centre and I could easily take the trams to the city or walk to attractions close by such as Vondel Park and Rijks Museum or the beautiful shopping streets in the area. The hotel is decorated in soft tones and...

We have booked this hotel through agoda and there was a technical problem in the system so all the booking were coming through but there were no rooms available at the hotel. So the hotel's management have upgraded us to a 5 star hotel next by so we were very happy by their service.

Best Service, Staff was very friendly, location is good for shopping. If someone needs to exercise there is big gym next to it, though it doesn’t have any link with the hotel but one can walk in and pay for the daily visit. The only suggestion I have is that a small cupboard should be placed somewhere in the hotel, wall mounted hooks are difficult to place clothes. If ...

A no frills room only hotel which would provide all other services (even basic things like Housekeeping) at a cost. For a premise and business model like this, one would expect a lot more value for the amount paid. Probably it was a supply demand issue, but overall, very disappointing. I will only recommend this place for a short stay and simply because the staff is v...

If the center of Amsterdam is out of your budget range or you want more bang for your buck, this hotel is perfect! The kitchenette makes it easy for breakfast, snack and simple meals. There is a store right nest to the train station. Staff is very helpful and did their best to accomodate any of our needs. Transportation is super easy...Would stay here again in a heart...

All in all, we loved our stay and would definitely stay again and highly recommend. From the moment we arrived to the moment we checked out we felt so welcome and comfortable and looked after. The rooms are very plush and comfortable, I slept incredibly well (and i'm a bad sleeper)! And i loved the coffee machines in room. We had intended to go find a restaurant for ...

We booked a room for 3 adults without breakfast. When we came to the hotel, we changed our mind about the breakfast, but it was absolutely no problem to pay for it extra (8,50€/pers./day). By the check-in we were told we have to pay some city tax, which in my opinion should be included in the price of accomodation, but it was only 9€ for the 3 of us, so not a big deal....

Stayed here by myself when booked a last minute couple of days away. I looking for a hotel near my family and friends who were booked in to a nearby hotel for a few days. The reviews and pics of the hotel online looked good and I booked! Hotel is great. It has a clean modern and cool reception and bar area, perfect to sit and use a for the small amount of work I neede...

The hostel is a 5 minute ferry ride from Amsterdam Centraal and in a prime location. I had a four bedroom all female dorm which had a toilet and shower. The toilet and shower room were not cleaned everyday so that made them smelly and messy. The bedsheets and comforter cover needed a proper clean as they had hair on them which was a bit disgusting. The hostel staff w...

The hotel has very nice canal view. I asked for the room with canal view but unfortunately it was not available. However, the room was clean and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful. It would be great if the shutter bus service between Schipol Airport and the hotel was clearly stated in the booking information.

I spent two nights here at the beginning and end of my stay in Holland. I booked the premium deluxe room, which was great. It was a decent size, had a comfortable double bed, desk, and private bathroom. The dorm rooms must have been at the other side of the hostel as it was very quiet in my wing. Check in was smooth and fast. There are two eating options for breakfast:...

I have just got back from a weekend break away with my husband I was a bit unsure about this hotel before hand because of the bad reviews but I’m so glad that I did book it! Yes the rooms are small but we hardly spent any time in our room we were out all the time and the bed was comfy! You couldn’t get a better location the hotel is near everything you need or is a sho...

We arrived on King's Day and hotels around downtown was fully booked/very highly priced. Luckily for that, we came across Sir Albert Hotel! Hotel was very sleek, clean, modern, n was extremely near to our favourite Albert Cuyp Market! Who cares if the room was slightly away from downtown (less noisy anyway) & small, it had everything we needed. Best way to end our hone...

Location wise excellent, away from the hustle & bustle of red light districts but still very near to everywhere!staff are super friendly, the room despite a bit small but just fine for us both with 2 huge luggages and 2 handcarries 😃 and it is clean too.there is also a cafe called il momento nearby that serves best coffee in Amsterdam! Overall,a decent stay for us husba...

We spent 4 days in Amsterdam. The Hotel is located in a great position. From the airport you can take the bus 397 which stops in Leidseplein (5 mins walking from the Hotel). 5 mins from the Hotel there is the Museums'area (Van Gogh, Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk, etc..). In the evening the area is full of life, but not too busy, with plenty of nice restaurants and pubs, and i...

The listing is inaccurate, they don't offer airport transportation. Rooms are tiny, like dorm-room tiny, but well-appointed and clean. Staff was very friendly, but they need to examine your room at checkout, I'd imagine this could cause very long waits to check-out, so plan ahead. The EU rating system is about 1/2 star higher than they'd be in the US, but this woul...

A boutique hotel in a very central location. Staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. We had reserved two superior canal view rooms online. However, there was a miscommunication between agency and hotel and we were placed in two non canal view rooms. The hotel quickly accepted error and made immediate accommodations for us. One of the new rooms had an is...

Last minute booking when I landed in Amsterdam. Arrived early but knew room wouldn't be ready but staff member was very accommodating in allowing me to leave luggage while I walked around town until check-in time. Room was located on the bottom floor so can't really complain. You may have issues if you need to go up the stairs. Room itself was really nice. Room wasn't...

Okay this hotel is not 5 star but it has a fabulous location, the staff are amazing - they couldn't do enough to help. The breakfast was fine, your normal type of buffet breakfast and of a good quality. The rooms are very small but fully functional, bathrooms very small but again they had all the facilities you need. We stayed here for 3 nights and mainly only slept...

Amsterdam hotels can be very pricey and quite hit and miss. We were so lucky to finally decide on Hotel Roemer! Situated in a lovely neighbourhood right in the heart of the museum district but not too far from the central area, we enjoyed leisurely strolls from the front door to everywhere we needed to be. Our room was in the annexe building across the street and was v...

It very close to amsterdam central station, canal cruise station, the palace, madame tussaud, & tour to various location in holland. It is near to red light district though so family with children need be careful to find a way around this area. Hotel is unique, staff is friendly but during my stay i only saw one hotel reception & one concierge. Long queue in the recept...
Cheap places to stay in North-Holland

We went here to enjoy the beach in summer and were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day. The apartment has everything you need, and is very suitable for a family with children. There's a sitting area, a big dining table, and also a small kitchen. Parking is right in front of the hotel. Walking out from the hotel you are immediately at the beach, and the views from the a...

I have stayed here a few times over the years. If coming from Central Station, you will likely travel here by Coach or Tram, being a little further out from the centre. I feel this place offers good value for money, especially Monday to Friday. Weekends, it gets a little pricier as is the norm for all hotels. It has always been clean, and comfortable. The dorms are sp...

We travellers have a lot to answer for as we hammer the nails into the coffin of planet Earth with the fuel we burn for transport. We can salve our consciences a little by living "green" while we are in one place and Ecomama makes this possible. It is unique in my experience with its big central communal space and indoor huts (and tepee / tent!) and a lot of practical ...

I really liked this place. The staff were kind and attentive, the facilities seemed well maintained, the rooms themselves seemed decent, and it l’s right next to a central train station + an arena with loads of shops, restaurants, and an imax theatre right there. Couldn’t get much better. My complaints are minor, but still noteworthy to me. First is the part they cont...

The night I booked it was so cheap so can't complain. Dorm room quite small but stayable, kitchen is small but somehow has almost everything, just not oven. Bed and linens are away from white washed, just pray that it's ok. Staff are nice enough I think. The place is small but to my experience, it's easier to meet and talk people, and this was so. Met nice peopl...

Stayed at Stayokay Vondelpark 11th-14th September for my fiancé birthday. We stayed in block B, a private room for two and we were very impressed. The beds (although single!) were incredibly comfortable, the room was lovely and clean and the staff were amazing ! They even arranged for a special surprise for my Fiancés birthday on the Monday, putting a birthday card, a ...

I was lucky to get room 15 because that's on ground floor. Pros: - Affordable - Strong wifi - Good location (less than 1 min walk from the tram station and near some cafes) - Staff give some good information Cons: - Toilet & guest ratio is very high. Only 2 showers and 2 toilets for 20+ guests in one room. However, I never had to wait in line for some reason eve...

Centrally located, easy going staff, bar pricing was reasonable. Plenty of local advice . Rooms are quite spacious. Lockers are huge in depth but not so much width. Perfect for even the biggest backpacks but if you have a large suitcase it might be a bit harder.

I spent two nights here at the beginning and end of my stay in Holland. I booked the premium deluxe room, which was great. It was a decent size, had a comfortable double bed, desk, and private bathroom. The dorm rooms must have been at the other side of the hostel as it was very quiet in my wing. We stayed in s small double room with private bathroom during Hollands heat wave, unfortunately our room didn't have a window making our time in the room very uncomfortable. Also they're not joking when they say 'small' it's a matchbox and wouldn't recommend if you're clostrophic. You can get a tram from relatively close by and get into dam square within about 10/15 m...

The hotel was fairly modern and clean, everything needed for a weekend stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We had a slight issue with the payment with Agoda and the staff were reassuring and stated that they would sort the problem. The breakfast was lovely and is located in the Irish pub next door. Overall would 100% stay again.

You are not entering a 5 star resort. This is a little motel, small with surely some little fixing to do but, beds are nice and location is amazing. It was the cheapest room we could get in the center and we paid 75€ for a 2 single bunk beds room. We arrived early and got a room immediately (11am) lucky us. They supply towels, soap, shower gel and maps of the city. O...

We booked a twin room and all of the rooms advertised on the website were nice, bright and airy. What we had instead was a basement room with only a little ceiling very high up on the wall within a grey/beige room which made it feel very small and dark. Additionally we found that they weren't very forth coming with the tea/coffee and replacement of clean cups - they wo...

Probably one of the best hostels I've stayed at. You need to have a key card to get in so I always felt very safe. You walk straight into the bar so you feel welcome from the get go. All of the staff were amazing and super friendly. A lot of them hung around after their shifts so it was easy to sit down and have a drink with them. Excellent kitchen facilities. Loads of...

Golden Mansion Apts is located in a quiet area with easy access to public transport. Most of the staff we met were very helpful and responsive. The stairs are super narrow so good luck if you have large suitcases to lug (we had two :( ). The kitchenette was under equipped - besides cutlery and crockery, there were only a couple of huge cooking vessels. On request, a fr...

We stayed in the executive room, which was lovely. It's actually even nicer in person. There were plenty of places to keep your things organized, and the staff was so helpful and polite if we needed anything at any time. Also, the bathroom is so luxurious! The location of this hotel is probably the best part. It's no more than 30 min walking to any major parts of Amste...

The hotel is just opposite the Gaasperplas metro station. So convenient to travel. Two night buses stop opposite the hotel. Breakfast is excellent. Room is spacious. It was cleaned everyday. Basic amenities are provided. It is advised to take your own toiletries. Staff are friendly and helpful. Would certainly recommend it.

We booked a room for 3 adults without breakfast. When we came to the hotel, we changed our mind about the breakfast, but it was absolutely no problem to pay for it extra (8,50€/pers./day). If you want to feel alive, stay at St. Christopher's Winston Hotel. I chose it because of it's central location + low price + restaurant and club inside but there was SO much more! People watching in the front of the hostel and from the window of my room, walking in at the end of the night to a roomful of young energy dancing in the club (we joined them for 1 dance),...

Hotel is clean. Offered complimentary fruits and cofffee. Hotel is part Pt the many historical buildings in Amsterdam so don't expect any air conditioning but it was not issue for us, room was well ventilated and they provided a small fan. Room was too adequate for 4 people. Bathroom was clean and also a generous size. Hotel is centrally located, and less than 15 min...

Lovely hotel situated 5 min walk from station to travel into the city, which took 10 mins. Rooms were a good size, and sound proof. Nice and modern and clean. The roof top bar was nice but could get overcrowded. Con, we came back 2:30am and asked at desk if we could have a later check out the next day as checkout was 12 - they refused and stated was fully booked but ...

I really liked this hotel. It was clean and easy to get to and from the city center and the airport. The train/metro is literally right next to it. I could see it from my hotel window. It has restaurants and stores all around. I loved that it had many USB ports so I could charge all my devices at once without a converter. The wifi was great. The only complaint I have ...

Long way to town but the hotel offers free shuttle then you pay 8 euros for return train to Centraal every half hour. Nice food and the BASTIO HOTEL gave us a free Dutch T shirt and cap... Go Holland in the world cup...I will return there....No overcrowded tiny rooms you find at top dollar downtown. Cheers.....SHAKEY from OZ.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Ambassade in February 2016. Not only is the location very central - right on the Herengracht canal - but the hotel itself is lovely and well-appointed. The hotel is actually two old houses joined together, and has a history of being where famous authors stay when they come to Amsterdam. So, the hotel's little library is filled with aut...

The hotel is one of the best hotel that I have every stayed on so far. Yes it is a bit far from Amsterdam but the bus station is just a 3 minute walk away from the bus station to take you there. You can even buy the bus tickets and even tour tickets from the hotel. I love the fact that they have free laundromat to wash our clothes and free coffee and tea every morning....

This property is the best mistake I have ever made. I have foolishly assumed its the same Inntel Hotel in Amsterdam Centraal and only to discover they're not the same after a 500m walk with my huge bags from Amsterdam CS... 'Zaandam' station can be easily reached via Metro (10mins) and the Return tix for 2nd class travel is about Eur6/per person per day. Avoid First cl...

Pros: This hotel is directly opposite the Amsterdam Central Station, across the river. It can easily be missed because of its small signboard. The ground floor is very noisy at night as it turns the cafe into bar, but in the room, even at first floor, is extremely quiet and sound proof. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the meals are great. The design and ov...

It has the perfect location right near to Amsterdam Centraal Station without being in the midst of the hustle & bustle of being right in the ctr of the city. The staff are all very personable, helpful & friendly and yet at the same time are very professional at every level. They made my stay the best part of my trip. I had made several requests prior to my arrival & e...

Location was perfect for exploring Amsterdam. The front desk was very helpful in aquiring tickets to the museums and attractions. They were very knowledgeable about getting around the city. The restaurant and bar were great. Some of the best cappuccino I have ever had! The staff were friendly and very professional. We had a superior king room and had adequate space. O...

Before I booked a room here, I read the reviews on Agoda and some of them were rather negative. However, after I stayed here, I have nothing but only good things to say about it.. The hotel was very near to the airport (~8-10 minutes by shuttle) and the best part is their good shuttle service between the airport and the hotel. (although, one of their drivers was a lit...

The hotel building itself is an attraction - it is a heritage building. The location is simply the best - the tram stop is right in front the hotel. Dam Square is just across the street - where a lot of the city attractions are located and where a lot of tram lines are passing through. The hotel room is not really spacious but big enough to move around. Basic amenit...

If you prefer a quite place this is the place to be... the best thing is the shuttle bus that goes to the airport every 30mins... thats why it was so handy to pick this hotel... if you don’t like the hustle and bustle of the city in the late evening... this is the place to be... for getting a goodnight sleep... we were in the Amsterdam centrum at 1-10pm and thats eno...

absolutely we are coming back to this hotel when we are going to amsterdam. in fact we are planning to go to amsterdam with our kids soon and definitely this will be the hotel of our choice. near rai station and only need 5 minutes walking. taking tram will need about 20 minutes to reach central station in amsterdam or about 10 minutes by train/subway. there are taxis ...

The hotel adjoing to eden which was a four star property was given to us, It was a free upgrade, nice room, very spacious, good for family. City taxes extra if you book through agoda, if u book directly no city taxes, better to check the deal which is lucrative at the time of booking

spent 7 nights at the wittenberg at the end of July stayed in a 2 bedroom dupliex the hotel was beautiful and about 20 to 30 minutes walk to all the major attractions The hotel itself is in a relatively quiet area A couple of things to be aware of There is no air conditioning in the rooms and the windows only open a small amount This means limited air circulation. ...

Stayed one night here enroute to Portugal. Arrived early in the morning , thought we cld try and see if we could check in early. Booking was not found which was strange as I use Agoda so many times esp in Asia and never had any problems. I thought all was ok but was asked to pay for the room when I checked out but it was resolved after checks with the supervisor with...

ok the massive "attraction" of this hotel is the location. the location is the best you wont need any cab or anything, max a bike if you wanna hang out and enjoy the cool nice weather of holland, but basically is really close to everything major like. the room was really nice and large the bed was fine and cozy. if you wanna have a good time in amsterdam in a gr...

The stay was absolutely fantastic. The best boutique hotel I stayed ever, but a little bit too expansive indeed. The free breakfast were not too attractive but needed to pay extra for hot dishes. The staff are all super friendly and helpful at all time. It' s really a hassel free hotel.

The hotel is beautiful and European cool. The decoration is well thought after and fantastic, and will find detail after detail to delight you. Compared with North America the rooms are smaller and the cosy setting with small corridors and steps would be unusual for North American hotels. The only thing that I missed in the room was electronic outlets to be able use th...

My stay was beyond expectation. I have visited Europe many times and usually even a 5-star hotel disappoints me. In general, accommodation in Eur is expensive and unlike in any other countries where space is unlimited. In Europe, this hotel is considered spacious. The room is clean, the staff was SUPER knowledgeable, the swimming pool and saunas were superb as well. Th...

It’s a great hotel with a great location, services are excellent, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the restaurants in the hotel is great the Japanese wagyu beef is a must try, the Rooms are a bit small, it’s design for youngsters feels like in a warehouse, the bed however is too soft, the main problem with the hotel is its cleanliness, in my room where I stayed...

This is for me the best hotel in Amsterdam. The location is central. Just a few minutes walk to all the tourist attractions. They have very friendly and accommodating staff. Always have a smile on their faces. I would definitely choose this hotel again when i am in Amsterdam.

This was a booking made for a conference attendance otherwise. The hotel service was first rate, the staff friendly and attentive. The room was pleasantly and sensibly appointed, though not huge. Meals (breakfasts) were adequate, although not on par with other hotels in this league. I had a pleasant stay but at this high end of the market one shouldn't have to pay extr...

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely faultless. This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in if not the best due in great part to the superb customer service given by the staff. The room was large, very clean and the bed extremely comfy. The staff could not do enough for you and it was done immediately. An absolute must if you are staying in Amsterdam....

We checked in for two nights after touring the Netherlands for a week, seeing a place to spend a couple comfortable nights and see the sights of Haarlem and have easy access to Amsterdam. After one night we extended to three nights, and after two nights we're about to extend to five. Stay here when visiting Amsterday...15 minutes on an easy train ride has you in the ce...

Started out arriving at the estate noon, dialled the numbers on the door of the property including buzzing the staff but to no avail. Went on to call Agoda for assistance and they managed to get a person to assist, Waited for another 45mins in the cold outside the door of the property till the host came. I honestly was not impressed enough with the room, standards are...

This place is beautiful. Know and understand that first and foremost. You walk in and it's an open area hotel. The finishings are all high end. We went with the 2 story room overlooking the lobby and it was spacious and comfortable. The tub could fir 4 people in it and the free wifi worked well. I have stayed in many hotels in Amsterdam and this is by far my favorite. ...

My partner and I have just returned from this hotel. We had to leave early as our house went on fire when we were away. Staff were amazing by helping us sort out new boarding passes etc. On my return, they have withdrawn over 450 euros from my account. We are homeless at the moment and my insurance have not paid any money yet. I called them when I realised and they s...
