Ohio State hotels & accommodations

We stayed here with a team for a tournament in the area and it was great for the team. The kids loved the pool, there were plenty of places for the adults to hang out around the pool and then in the lobby. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout the stay. As for the rooms, they were clean, beds were comfortable (a little soft but comfortable), and we had both a r...

Pool was closed for "maintenance" majority of our stay (during which outdoor temps were in the 90's). No hot water in the morning on 2 separate days. On a third day, no hot water until after 1pm with no clear ability to address, report any progress on solution, etc., and spouse missed an appointment as a result. For complaining, we were encouraged to select a SNACK fro...

Overall it's a nice non-chain hotel. Friendly staff, clean, Bar and Grille plus a restaurant on site. Lobby and adjacent area is decorated with President McKinley museum pieces. It does lack a few things travelers who frequent chain hotels will be used to. No pens nor paper in the room, no directory in the room for local info (hardly a necessity with their high speed W...

GREAT! It was a lot of fun and the staff was great. Everyone was very friendly and seemed that they always wanted to help. When asking for a taxi, the hotel got one to us right away and we did not have to wait at all. Overall it was a great time and we had a great experience. I would recommend this to anyone.

Shortly after our arrival a storm came through and the wind blew the outdoor umbrella into our windshield causing a large crack and dent. We were only planning to stay one night but had to stay an extra day to get it fixed, which they comped. They also paid for the windshield to be fixed and gave us free food and drink during our stay. Staff was great during our ordeal...

This hotel was cheap, and that was its primary asset. It was reasonable quality for the price. Pros: -Affordable. -Convenient to downtown (8 minute drive to convention center). -Room was clean and beds were comfortable enough. -Had a fridge in the room. This may be standard for hotels, but I wasn't sure a budget place like this would have it. Cons: -Thin walls, so yo...

I stayed there for 3 nights. The housekeeping staff doesn't know what non-feather bedding is. The restaurant isn't open at night. The arcade area is constantly rented out for events, which means you can't easily walk through the 1st floor at all times. I got the feeling I was a deadbeat in their eyes as indicated by the little cards with notes on them in the room. ...

The Baci Restaurant inside the hotel was one of the best dining experience I ever had. All due to the hospitality of the staff and the quality of the food served. I guarantee you will not leave hungry. The owner appears to be a hands on guy and wants to make sure your stay is exceptional. Definitely the best quality you can find in that price range.

Pros: Inexpensive, enjoyed Thai restaurant/bar, right off highway, pool was huge, work out facility was better than some gyms, walking track above pool, life guard on duty, quick in and out to car. Cons: Old hotel that is in need of updating everywhere, hallways have an odor of various types of smoking from other rooms. Breakfast? Three trays one of bananas, one of mu...

The shower & tiles were full of mold. Wife has asthma so bleaching/chemicals while in room is NOT an option. Room wan't cleaned of mold prior to arrival. Carpet baseboard was stapled to the wall and I nicked my ankle on staple. Elevator would not close, so other elevators would not stop on the floor. My wife, with 4 herniated discs, had to walk down 3 floors because t...

Nice place to stay overall w/ the exception of noise due to renovation. On the first night the front desk called our room and asked us to turn the TV down. They were not even turned on and nothing else was either. I mentioned to her that there was excess noise in the room above us. Did not help. Loud noises came from the room from 6:30 a.m. to 11:15 p.m. all three night...

The hotel was fine - like any other Best Western. Large rooms, free parking, free breakfast, etc. We were satisfied with our stay. The only point is that it's not so close to Cedar Point, if that's the reason for your stay. It's not such an issue if you have a car, but worth mentioning. However, it's certainly a lot cheaper than staying in any of Cedar Point's hot...

This hotel was rated only two stars but I figured we were only going to stay one night and the price was right. I was pleasantly surprised, this hotel is very nice. The room was clean and the location is perfect. Very close to the highway, restaurants, the football hall, mall and other shops. I would definitely stay there again and also recommend. Also free parking and...

We were in town for a graduation. Although this older area of the city is a bit run down, the location was super close to the school. The building is under renovation, which is why I suspect we got such a great deal, but we were quite happy with our choice. The free breakfast was one of the best we've seen, the staff was friendly and helpful, and our room was not only ...

Apparently Agoda doesn't want a complete review of the facility. Note that if you book through Agoda or possibly any internet booking agent you are assigned a substandard room in the third building. Rooms for smokers, pet lovers and people booking through Agoda are in bldg 3. 1st floor. The advertised breakfast consists of microwave oatmeal, or corn flakes, milk or or...

If you are just wanting a place to crash and don't mind the noise from the freeway (literally meters away from the room), then this might be acceptable. Facilities are dated, and the water is hard and it smells too. Won't go back to the hotel again in future.
Cheap places to stay in Ohio State

Located in what is just another American house in a quiet area of Ohio, it feels much like many homes in US films. Only a couple dorm rooms, large shared bathroom, two spacious common areas downstairs with couches, tables and TVs, large kitchen with free breakfast (bread, spreads, cereal, milk, juice drinks, coffee, tea), laundry in the basement, bath tub outside, porc...

We booked 3 rooms for 4 nights. No continental breakfast, contrary to the listing of amenities. Only coffee was offered. The wifi was not in reach to the rooms we were staying in. The bathtubs were filthy with dirt and film from past tentants. We had a card issue with getting into the room one night but it was handled quickly from the friendly staff. Overall safety ma...

The pros are the bed was pretty comfortable and its cheap priced..The cons were the girl at check inn had a nasty condescending attitude.. Cons mice droppings by the window, the funiture was outdated a lamp was broke. The pull out couch had dirt and blood stains on it. The bathtub smelled of raw sewage. I took a shower 10 min later the bathtub was full about overflowin...

Jessica was amazing right from the start! My father, brothers, and I were in town for a funeral, and the rooms were different from what was stated online. Jessica still made sure we were well taken care of and was very friendly. Great place to stay for the price.

This is the worst place that I’ve every stayed it. The bedsheets were filthy!!! The room wasn’t clean, the place had bugs, it was horrible!!!!! The manager didn’t care. She told me that I could go to red roof in when I told her about how bad the place was.

The entire hotel wreaks of cigarettte smoke. Our first room was so bad they moved us but the second was just as bad. There are smoking rooms on every floor. In fact the smoking rooms are at the end of the hallways while the non-smoking rooms are nestled in the middle of the hall - so you get smoke traveling down the hall and into the non-smoking rooms. The halls wreak ...

Highly disappointed upon seeing a macaw in the lobby displayed as if he was a show piece and not a being. Also, saddened that these cheap tactics are still pursued especially being such a great chains of hotels. In evening he was moved to this little store room (highly doubt that there’s window there) and of course caged till late morning. I wouldn’t recommend this pro...

I thought the rooms weren't as nice as the ones I have stayed at with the IHG group for the same price range I thought it was riduculous that you charge 10 dollars to use the internet. after hearing that you charge for the internet I was afraid to use any of the toiletries, the bottled water and my husband was afraid to make a pot of coffee in case we would be charged f...

Incredible experience from when I pulled up to the front door until I left. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms are large, clean and spacious. Very quiet and secure so you have a great night of sleep. Excellent restaurant!!! I’m from Youngstown and can’t wait to plan a summer weekend downtown which will include a stay at the Doubletree. Please for...

Verification of room when calling prior to arrival and was told only one night was booked. Huge hassle and stress. Room was not the suite i booked. It was a closet sized room and again was told this was what i booked. Was also told nothing else was available. Could not get the front desk to answer phone. Had to call the outside number from my cell to get service and ro...

Staff were not friendly. During night time around 1am, there were people shouting and banging on doors. I am very doubtful if this is an even 4 star hotel. I had my booking weeks before for connecting rooms, and they don't seems to care to prepare them at all as I am staying with my family. I don't think I will stay there anymore.

On my keyring I had a very unique magnetized iPhone charging cord. This prototype was about three inches long and folded around the ring the keys are on and snapped together by strong magnets. Its been their for six months and I'm positive it was there when I gave them my keys. One of them has this on their keyring right now. This was a prototype not available in any s...

There are a couple of very unfair reviews by “outside the country” visitors of this hotel on Agoda but don’t let them keep you from this very nicely located hotel! Expectation is everything. If one expects a five star hotel experience I’m sure it may be a bit disappointing. But considering the alternatives out there in this price range this hotel was great! The h...

We booked the day of. So we got an amazing deal. However regular rates are very pricey. Almost nothing is included in the room rate. For example, parking is $10/day and breakfast is $13-$17 per person. The hotel looked nice and clean. Our room was tidy, but there were stains on the floor. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was nice; however, the mattress pad kept ...
