Where to stay in Quintana Roo State
Quintana Roo State hotels & accommodations
This resort is beautiful! Absolutely loved it! However, my friend and I rented a room to only stay 7 hours in before we had to return home to the states. We were told that we could use our credit cards or Pesos to make purchases before we checked in and when it came down to it, we were only allowed to charge to the room which we did not want to do do to a group of us ...
The resort itself is beautiful. Rooms are nice, pools are nice, staff is very nice as well. The food is terrible. My boyfriend and I don't drink so we were looking forward to the restaurants, pool side service, and room service. The buffet for breakfast and lunch was the best food that we had during our stay. The restaurants however, are a joke. The grill is dine...
Best trip to Cancun, hotel staff was amazing, food at hotel restaurant's was amazing. Location was amazing. Room had a beautiful view, best time to go NOT CROWDED NO SPRING BREAKERS..only stated 2 days but will definitely be back. The pool area was clean water was warm, staff was very attentive ,cant say enough about about it,definitely a diamond in the ruff..Alot of revie...
This place was beyond my expectations! The staff was friendly and nice. We did get a room upgrade at a discounted, and the view from our balcony was spectacular. They really treated us like a VIP all throughout our stay! Also our breakfast by the balcony was the best experience!
Excellent service, they were so attentive in everything, excellent food, nice liquor selection and the best for sure the staff that were incredible! The hotel ots brand new and modern/luxory style! For sure O will go back again several times
Overall, I had a blast time stayed at this hotel. I wish the room was more clean and updated. The bathroom shower was bad. We can’t even turn on full water or else water will splashes all over the floor. When I booked the hotel I wanted a King bed for me and my husband. But we end up with double beds and no views. Beside the room , I love the food and the staffs was ve...
Best hotel I have stayed at. Everyone and everything was simply amazing!
We had a wonderful week in July at this hotel. The staff are courteous and friendly. The facilities are new and beautifully designed. The food is good and it is easy to get around the local area. The hotel is very careful to ensure all their visitors' safety and wellbeing.
Lovely stay in Mexico, beautiful pool area & unlimited margaritas. Upgraded swimout room was worth the extra $$$$
My girlfriends and I stayed here, and WOW we were impressed! Live Aqua is the best all-inclusive resorts I've visited. All of the staff were so friendly and courteous. I usually get bored of the food choices at resorts, but not this one. The selection of restaurants is fantastic for variety. The portions of the food were perfect, so you can try a bit of everything and ...
This is one of the best resorts in the hotel zone. The room was extremely clean, and the staff was always polite and welcoming. The one thing that sets this resort apart from others is how great the good is. There were at least 7 restaurants to choose from, on top of the cafeteria and sushi bar located in the lobby. The drinks were great. Some bartenders poured a ...
Very clean and the food was great. Lots of restaurants to choose from. We called before we booked our trip and asked about what type of liquor they served. They told me it was all good quality liquor but come to find out the hard way that we needed to upgrade our stay. It was still good but not the best. The beach was terrible. Rooms are very nice and clean . Oh fo...
This was our second stay at Hotel Marina El Cid and we loved it as much as the first time. This time we were a much larger group (31 people) and the staff were always helpful and friendly when accommodating us. I enjoyed everything about this resort, especially the gym and it’s trainers. Having the opportunity to do yoga almost everyday was fantastic for me. Dalia ...
While the location of the resort is steller the rooms are not. The first 4 nights we had a room with a swim up pool. I at first thought the bites all over my body were from the mosquitoes, but I was horrified to learn that they were actually from bed bugs in the mattress. Our next three nights were in a room with an ocean view. Again the location and the view was bre...
Amazing food in every restaurant, the best burgers we had were served by the pool next door hotel, where you get all inclusive as well, sister hotel. Lobster nights were delicious too! amazing animation group and pool parties. Mimosa station at breakfast buffet! We will be back there in the very near future.
The reason for choosing this hotel is because I was under the impression that this is an all exclusive adults only hotel. But we were surprised that the hotel was swarming with children. Nothing wrong with it but just false advertisement and misleading information. It was even briefed to us that it is an adults only hotel. Jacuzzi was one we were looking forward to was...
The beach is absolutely world class. Amazing sand and clear water. This alone makes the Grand Oasis worth it, but then you add in the 1/4 mile long pool, day parties/concerts, and views of Cancun from the Pyramid and the beach deck are breathtaking. The scene during March and April (Spring Break) is for singles looking for a good time. The bars and pool are always ...
Hello, I am Taehoon Choi in Korea (South). I stayed your hotel in last month. Checked in 28th Nov and checked out 30th Nov 2018. I booked through Agoda. I gave you 300USD as a deposit when I checked in, but I didn't get it back yet. I issued by my credit card what is MasterCard_KBCARD. And the owner of this credit card is Mr.TAEHOON CHOI. I'd really appreciate it, if...
The one of best memories were we were able to see the beach in our room that has big size bed, wide of window and comfortable, clean. The price was included all eating and enjoying except massage and spa. We were satisfied with the price and quality of the resort
We've been to the Riviera Maya close over 30 times. Unico 2087 is #1 for the region and of all the places beach vacations we've taken for comfort, value and convenience (includes French Polynesia, Hawaii, and Thailand. Easy short flight from US for us. Luxurious rooms with very comfy beds. Stylish resort. Beach was completely cleared of seaweed when we visited in late ...
This was a great resort/experience. The staff was overwhelmingly accomodating and pleasant. They went out of their way to ensure a great experience. Food and drink quality was fantastic. If I were to choose anything to mark less than perfect was that the rooms seems slightly "out of date." Nevertheless would definitely recommend.
We had fun at this hotel. The liquors they use are the good ones and they don’t cheap out. Compare to other all inclusive hotels I stayed before. As soon as you enter the lobby there is a bartender that can make drinks for u. (On certain hours, I think he is there 1pm to 4pm)There is a selection menu.We loved the uptown funk!! And all the other restaurants were superb...
Nice Service even though it has been already all-inclusive I stayed four nights in this hotel and surprise that staffs served nicely !! The service is enough for me to pay extra tips for their hard-working... First choice when I will visit Cancun for next time!!
Gorgeous views of the ocean from the room! The staff and butlers were the best part of this resort! They really add a level of personalized service that make you feel like royalty while you are there and take the time to make sure you are enjoying your stay. Our assigned butlers were Ingrid and Erika and they were outstanding. They went out of their way to make sure...
Amazing location on the most beautiful beach, which is just steps away from the hotel and pool. Everything is very clean, rooms pool area food areas and the beach. Food was great always something different and always a lot to choose from. Great night and evening entertainment the staff is amazing so friendly and always trying to help out to make the stay as comfortabl...
Service and staff were exceptional. From the moment we stepped on the property until we left we felt pampered. The property is very clean and well maintained. It was nice to have the additional dining options that were available on the adjoining properties. There is no doubt that we will be returning.
We stayed at this resort for a wedding. To be honest i didn't really find the hotel or [pool area as beautiful as other hotels on the beach in Tulum. The food was fairly average in the hotel resturants, the buffet breakfast was probably the best though. The drinks were great though! Hotel was clean and well maintained, the rooms were nice but nothing super special. We...
From the moment you walk in till the moment you walk out , you are treated like royalty. Everything was above and beyond expected especially during spring break. This Hotel was amazing quite and relaxing during our entire stay, even tho it was spring break and millions of young kids were having tons of crazy fun outside... not even a peep was heard or seen in our hote...
Sunscape is a nice, family oriented resort. There are 3 restaurants, 1 was very good, the other 2 were okay, but nothing great. If you like buffets and eating a lot of the same, then great. We prefer variety and taste to quantity and convenience. The staff is very friendly, and always willing to help...you just may inevitably have to ask a few times in order to get tha...
Food is plenty with great flavours. . Our favourite was Mastogo which served authentic Mx food. We truly appreciated and were wowed by service at the resort.Due to personal reasons we had to cut our visit short by a day. The staff accommodated our special request and agreed to refund. The on-site medical and pharmacy help was prompt and excellent. We felt very safe a...
Cheap places to stay in Quintana Roo State
This is a great place to stay. The dorm is quiet, it isn't a party hostel, the beds are comfortable, the place is kept clean and tidy. There is a kitchen and TV lounge. The staff are friendly. You are a little bit away from the noise and hustle of the main town but not so far that its ever a problem. The WiFi is good and there is a laundry place downstairs (it's b...
There is nothing cheap about Playa Del Carmen so if you think Mexico is cheap then think again. 3B Hostel was the perfect location for me, one street up from the extremely touristy and extremely expensive 5th Avenue, and though there was another hostel slightly further out that was cheaper, it would have meant I would have to travel further to get to and from work. T...
Bad
When I checked in, I didn't really had the feeling I'm welcome. But my two talks with the receptionists afterwards were friendly and nice. Everything is clean so far but it also appears a little bit sterile. The atmosphere didn't let me feel like people want to socialise. But it is very close to the bus station and you can also book tours in the hostel. They offer a bi...
This hostel is pretty good in comparison to others in the area. The staff are charming and the dorms exceptional. An inclusive short trip to their patch on the amorphously blue sacred waters beats the breakfast offered. Bacalar is one of the most beautiful areas on the Quintana Roo coastal trail, boasting distinct artistic vibes and good food. Also, nearby Chetumal is...
We booked in advance, came here, paid for 2 nights and 2 beds, got 2 wristbands, but when we wanted to checkout they tried to charge us another 2 nights. Shady place, with weird staff, 3 toilets that are always stuck, big lights only in the dorm... Don't come here!
The location is divine -- footsteps from the clear clean Cenote-like azul Lake Bacalar. The building is new, elegant, handsome, functional, efficient. The staff has all those qualities. I've never felt so blissed -- by health, beauty, peace, intelligence, charm, fun.
I was given a complimentary upgrade from a studio to a one-bedroom apartment, and I was stunned at what I got for the price I paid. The apartment was in a beautiful building, and offered a spacious living room and dining room, with a huge bedroom with a king and a queen bed. All the furnishings were top-notch, perhaps starting to show their use a bit, but really all to...
Had a great stay with the team at Hostelito. Stopped in cozumel for the diving (amazing!) and rented a bike next door. Staff are helpful and can even help you practice a little Español!
we could not have chosen a better hotel to stay at. we were a bit anxious since we had booked over the internet. our fears were grounded as soon as we saw the facility. it is quaint, rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, rooms are clean. ideal for singles, couples or families as different types of rooms are available. it is conveniently located. close to a major s...
Nothing fancy but inexpensive & functional. The staff is sweet. Good food and a chill place to hang out.
The staff are friendly and the rooms are nice. The breakfast is good in the morning. However the price on agoda was quoted in USD dollars and the price charged at the hotel was just their normal rate in Mexican pesos, and I booked on agoda because even the amount quoted in USD at the highest exchange rate was still less than the rate on their own website and the rate I...
Very loud because of the bar until 1.30 am
Owner is very helpfull. I really enjoyed my stay and don't want to leave. Really best value for the moneyI ever got. Very quick wifi internet.
Very nice place and staff ;)
We arrived late to cancun, and just wanted a place to crash before heading to Playa del Carmen. It's 10 minutes taxi ride from the airport, clean and safe at a wonderful price
We were very pleased with the room and the hotel. the location is the best one, close to everything and far enough from the party area. the staff is very helpfull and nice the place is very clean
the best for the value! we stayed here for three nights before going to cuba, and when we came back from cuba, we decided to stay here again for four nights. probably the best hotel we've stayed at in the entire mexico. the room was very clean with a huge and comfortable bed, flat screen tv with lots of channels (not that you have much time to watch tv when you're in c...
I was already in Mexico and my friends flight arrived late at night. We had a bus to catch the following morning. A little tricky to find, I speak some Spanish which helped communciating. We were lucky to have the apartment to ourselves. Very clean and apartment had all the kitchen supplies we needed. Short taxi to bus terminal. Nice patio to have a drink on.The lady ...
Compared to hotels we have stayed in other parts of Mexico, this hotel is a very good standard for the price. It seems new and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff are lovely and there is a family atmosphere, especially in the mornings. The breakfast is a mini buffet for only fifty pesos - it's cheap compared to most cafes around. It would be perfect if there...
Nice air conditioning on the upper floors, (we were on #3) and we could feel the cool starting on about the 2nd floor as we climbed. There are no elevators, but not a problem for us. The bed was typical Mexican -- very hard by American standards.
Excellent place but a bit far from beach. Overall was very happy
Cheap and clean room. Only that the refrigerator and the owner lives on the second floor. Although management is weak and clean water when you shower.
Very comfortable stay - we got 2 double beds, great air-con and great wi-fi connection. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The local area has great, cheap food and laundry facilities. To get to the Hotel Zone you can catch the bus from a nearby stop for only 80cents (US) and it takes about 30mins to get there.
We had a great stay here. Clean rooms, a nice patio on the roof with hammocks and chairs, a kitchen, and yoga sometimes as well. The bed was nice and comfy and rooms stayed cold- we barely used the AC. Jorge & the staff were great and very helpful . The building was centrally located, just a short walk from the bus station and many restaurants, and very secure. In ord...
We would absolutely recommend this gorgeous place. Close to the ferry, town and beach. Room was lovely, clean and bed was comfy. Staff and Theresa are so friendly and helpful. Every morning they prepare coffee in the kitchen that you can enjoy in the garden. This is my other home ❤️
Stayed here because I arrived late in Cancun. It's not in a busy location however it's a 2 minute walk from a port so that can be useful!
We came here because we needed to be in Playacar for a diving test. So the location was perfect for us. The reception was very friendly and the room was clean. Internet is working well. They also have a nice cozy bar on the rooftop. Our stay went smoothly :)
I liked the friendly staff and breakfast. Set back from main road with a seemingly middle class mexican clientele with some westerners. Breakfast was a winner outside on the small terrace. Staff were helpful and some spoke english.
The service and hotel we're by far one of the best things of my time in Tulum. if this hotel is available book it ASAP.

Got a good deal to come for the weekend to celebrate my boyfriends birthday so Upon checking in i let them know that we’re celebrating. they gave us an oceanfront room and when the room was ready, it was all decorated in rose petals shipped into a heart. A really nice gesture. Location: it’s at the beginning of the strip and away from all of the chaos but yet you can...
Explorean is an outstanding value and experience. The setting is quiet and peaceful , the staff and food are the best. I travel to Cozumel often and wish I would have found this hotel sooner.
Only issue is we were not told prior to booking we would have to switch rooms until check in. Explanation for Time Share ownership was reasonable and acceptable however when bellhop called for us to move, we were moved to a room that was not clean. It was dirty, disgusting, with odors. We almost wanted to leave the resort. After the room was cleaned, we stayed and the ...
Everything was great except for the bar noise which lasted until 1:00 on several nights allowing a small group of people to become very drunk and loud and keeping the rest of the building awake.
This hotel is a wonderful option if you don’t want to rush through the ruins and have a night to spare. Good service, magical grounds. The bungalows are private and quiet. I happened to find a fair price on Agoda, but had I paid the regular asking price, not sure I would have been so happy - so shop the price.
Pros..... staff and location. Cons... cruise ship quality food, too much sea weed and calling off the hook a restaurant.. no way. That small pool bar should stay open later.
We stayed in a Junior suite at the HM Paraiso Del Mar in Holbox for 6 days and it was really great. This is a quiet resort I think best suited towards relaxed couples and low maintenance families, not a party scene (thank god!). We were one of at least 3 LGBT couples staying at the hotel, which was nice to see, and we always felt very safe and taken care of. The staf...
The hotel locates at the best place in playa del carmen. Staff are nice and always with a smile. You can easily access to many places in playa del carmen. However, the beach near the hotel is not good. Actually, it smells really bad. Rooms are not that comfortable and noisy outside.
First if you are over 6' you will love the showers!! Guys you know what I mean, the shower head is high enough for 6'9" to take a shower without bending over!!!!!! Food was fantastic in all the restaurants, drinks were great and people were fun. The beach bartenders were fantastic and to much fun. Sabin, queen of activities, was so nice and helpful and got all of us to...
The hotel in general is really nice, and for couples ideal. Food at the beach is amazing, really good. Staff is poor, specially the waiters have little experience and are not very friendly. A lot of improvement in that area. Staff at reception and the coordinators are great. They need a common pool. There is no pool and with the "sargazo" in the ocean it was not alwa...
Only down side was to do with the beach, as we were unable to sit on it due to the island large seaweed problem meaning it wasn’t the idilic beach holiday one would imagine. We were thankful for spirits rooftop area as an alternative.
There was a group of four of us that went down for a week vacation and stayed at this property. We all four had the best time of our lives at this place. The staff were very professional, friendly, and accommodating. The hotel was 5 star hands down. The location was perfect, in the middle of everything you needed within walking distance or riding the bus too. We have n...
I loved the stay, the food was great and the staff are so kind; they went out of their way to make us comfortable and helped us with whatever we needed, they were also so attentive. I would come back again. The pool is just as the pictures I loved it, the only con and is not the hotels fault is the seaweed for some reason all over tulum it came out of nowhere!
Staff were lovely and very helpful. Pool and room were great. Hotel itself is ages away from anything unless you drive. Loads of parking for cars. Neighbourhood is a bit of a building site. They have bikes you can use but the handle bars fell off ours and the seat broke mid cycle into downtown. Down town cycle (in 30 degree heat) 30 minutes minimum. To begging ofbeach ...
I was extremely disappointed when arriving at the hotel and decided to move out early because of the noise from the neighbouring venue.. a BIKER BAR! They were playing VERY loud music all night long and attracting nothing but sketchy characters. The staff was kind enough to cancel my 2nd night though and help me find other accommodation.
Amazing. We couldn't have been happier with our stay. The whole place was amazing, from the beautiful toiletries to the hammock on the balcony, and the ridiculously comfortable beds with beautiful soft linen. The roof service meals were delicious, the staff were so helpful and friendly and we even lived the local gift (tubes of Yucatan honey) left on our pillows as p...
Azura is located near the main street of Tulum. It is within walking distance of most of the good restaurants and gift shops. The staff there are super helpful! There is a spa...
We felt welcome and the staff were very helpful with information about the local area. We plan on booking this hotel on our return trip in a few weeks.
We stayed here in June/July and we loved this place. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, and set around a private courtyard area, so although next to the main road we were not disturbed by any traffic noise. The little bar/restaurant where we had breakfast was excellent and good value for money. The location is good for getting to the sights, although getti...
Great design, big rooms. Very friendly staff. Hotel though is a bit out of the way and you'll need a car to get around.
It was just like beeing in paradise. A small beautiful hotel, right in the beach with a beautiful garden and very quiet. The small fruit basket breakfast in your room is a plus. Staff was excelent and the manager a delight. I would 100% recommend for a getaway with your love.

Very disappointed with the attempt to remake the hotel image. For those of us that are frequent travelers and visited the hotel during its first years of operation continued to come back because we expected a certain adult vibe from this hotel. This year I had heard that the hotel was loosing clientele but was willing to give it a try any way. But as opposed to bookin...
Beautiful resort with excellent staf. Sourroundings and facilities are very nice. Things to improve: there is a lot of golf cart traffic in the walkways and some of the restaurants serve some really minimalistic starters
probably one of the best hotel experiences we have had. The staff were nothing short of amazing! the hotel is beautiful and immaculately clean, the beach and pool bars service is amazing! Edgar in the bar in particular a super star, as is Omar on reception! we will definitely be back again. the only one suggestion I would give to improve, is please make sure the b...
Boutique hotel with about 90 suites. Located in Puerto Morelos, not Cancun. The beach was horrible. One of the main reasons I go to Mexico is to enjoy the beach. The water was brown and smelled. Nobody was swimming in it. I drove 20 minutes north to the Hotel Zone to a public beach and it was amazing. On a positive note, the hotel staff are excellent, very frien...
Great location to visit Quintana Roo and Yucatán - lots of history nearby. Coral reef 5 minutes away, Cenotes and water parks 30 minutes away. Staff was amazing - from check in to check out we had absolutely the BEST TIME. Thanks Alfredo, Moises, Jose Miguel, Francisco, Anna, and EVERYBODY else.
The staff went above and beyond to take care of my mother, aunts and I. I will definitely be coming back.
The hotel and beach area was beautiful with the white sand and blue ocean. The staff was very accommodating and the room was very comfortable and have a great view of the beach. The breakfast area was a bit of a miss design with only one way up and down to the buffet. I believe the hotel would be better served if they charged a 15% service charge rather than be reminde...
Stayed there two nights but decided not to extend principally as room was quite noisy at night adn we wanted to be loser to the peer. Would recommend to people who saw location as positive!
Had a hard time with my booking . Not sure what happened the hotel did not have my confirmation and they wanted me to pay again to get my room. Had not hot water the 2 first days then just hot water the last 2 days !!! The day staff was not very helpfull but the night girl was amazing . Not sure i would go back . We’ve been going there for many years and was always per...
I visited here in late February. Not too crowded, and it was generally quiet. Staffs were fantastic and kind. Food from all the restaurants was amazing. Size of the resort was huge, all places were very clean including the room. There's absolute is nothing to complain about. I would definitely visit again.
The TRS Yukatan is a perfect resort if you want to stay onsite and relax. Everything is there with a wide choice of resto's and a great Spa and Gym! Highly recommended even for the discerning traveler!!
I love this place. Is it perfect? No. But it is a very good option for couples. It's very relaxed. It's in the middle of the jungle. You will see lots of animals. I stayed in a room overlooking water and I saw turtles and fish (once even a crocodile. I'm not joking). The staff are amazing and will do anything for you. You will feel very well looked after, and that m...
There is NO activities planned or organised by the hotel. You should have activities planned (for adults, e.g: Beach Volley Ball, some cardio lessons, yoga lessons, meditation, etc) and for the rates of the hotel there should be available at no cost. Some activities were scheduled but they never happened and no one from the staff was pursuing them. The value for money...
