Traveling to Russia? Find Sankt-Peterburg Federal Subject hotels

I stay this hotel one night in 27th October, 2015. The comments shown as follows: (1) Location very convenience, 5 mins walk to metro station, 15 - 20 mins walk the spill church of blood, St. Issac church, The hermitage museum. (2) Decoration of room & canteen is beautiful. The furniture is new inside room and design is very golden. Pillow & bed is comfortable to sleep. (3) Good taste of breakfast. But fruit not enough. (4) Price is acceptable. I use SGD 110 to book a deluxe room. But, need to pay visa supporting fee EUR25. (5) The staff is ok and helpful. If you ask location or call a taxi. Overall, The hotel is recommended to stay. But, My comments is 3 stars hotel standards. (3)

This hotel is following a european standard therefore you feel that you are getting much more value for your money than in its 4 stars russian standard counterparts. The staff is polite, rooms are cleaned everyday, breakfast is tasty. Location is very close to the main train station and makes your arrival and departure days easier. Its an easy walk to the main attractions, we seldom used taxis (they are very cheap anyway). I recommend this hotel as a base for seeing Saint Petersburg and the surrounding area.

We were booked into a sub standard hotel at first so we switched and found this online. At first we wondered if the location was too out of the way, but we realized it was perfect for us. Nice neighborhood and really close to the metro which is one stop away from everything. You can also easily walk to most sights. The hotel has free bikes to use but biking is a bit of a challenge in St. Petersburg but doable. I would return.

the hotel suited us but it is a fair walk to ' downtown '. it was very comfortable ,with clean,modern good sized rooms. the hotel has modern,western decor and is a good novotel standard. we stayed a week and used the public transport system which is cheap, frequent and very crowded in peak times. allow plenty of time when you visit the hermitage .... it can be enervating as it is so extensive the novotel offers a great breakfast selection ... make the most of it. the metro and local bus are nearby and don't be afraid to use them but watch your valuables. pickpockets learn their trade in themetro and in the crowded stations.there are plenty of warnings.... take them seriously. our bags were un zipped on the metro in peak hour crowds.

Situated in the hustle and bustle of St Petersburg, this beautiful hotel offered wonderful rooms, great service and a pleasant atmosphere. In addition AH is located within walking distance of most of St Peterburg's central attractions, as well as restaurants, cafes and bars. We were very happy with this choice and would highly recommend AH to solo, couple or group travelers. For what you pay, this hotel is a standout compared to the chain hotels dotted around St Petersburg.

The Crowne Plaza is very well located close to Moscow Station Metro and Mayakovskaya Metro, and Nevsky Prospect. Many of the main sights are within walking distance, or short bus/trolley journey from Nevsky Prospect. The hotel reception staff and concierge are always willing to help with directions and which bus/trolley or metro to take. The hotel is clean, comfortable and quiet and there are plenty of cares, shops and restaurants around. The rooms are reasonably sized and tastefully furnished and we were very happy staying here. We will definitely use it again and highly recommend it. For a special treat, try Russki Empire in the Stroganov Palace. The meal was excellent and very reasonably priced. For everyday meals, the pelmeni restaurant a few doors down from the hotel is very good.

Few minute walk to Neva River. Being on or near Neva is best. Food was just fantastic. Breakfasts incredible. Extremely friendly staff. Front desk people provided A+ service with all issues. I upgraded from Standard to Superior room. Well worth it if you have a 'roommate'! Beautiful room. Even bathroom floor was heated! Pub was great for later dinners and ambiance. Housekeeping staff excellent. Hotel cleanliness excellent. I spent 18 days there and I will return. Don't forget to tip the people who are most helpful and friendly. People in Russia don't generally make much income. Even 2 or 300 rubles is greatly appreciated.

The hotel is large, but clean and fairly well maintained. The desk could use more help at peak arrival and departure times. The breakfast area has a good selection and good service. It can be crowded at peak times, but still accessible. I complained about the portable shower head fixture being broken twice, and it was not repaired in the four days I was there. The lobby always seems to have taxi drivers or local men sitting and smoking. Overall it is about a 3-4 star, and excellent value for money.

This is my second stay at vedensky hotel. Hotel located in a nice area with lots of places get a quick bite. Grocery store actress hotel with lots of options. Hotel needs some updating, rooms are not what they used to be. Staff is great. Location too long by foot to center. Most likely u would need a taxi, which is cheap unless ur a tourist. Uber works the best. I haven't tried breakfast , but from what I hear is a 3 star.

We were really impressed with the design of the room and the location of this hotel. Very assessible, 2 mins walk to 24 hrs super market, 5-10 mins walk to metro and shopping malls. The only possible downside of the hotel could be the communication with the hotel staffs. The staffs understand min english hence made communication difficult. On my 1st night, i requested for 2 extra pillows and box of tissue. I waited a few hours without receiving anything. The next morning I went down to check with the hotel concierge then realised that they do not have extra pillows and box tissues in the hotel. I personally find it hard to accept that there is any hotel that doesnt provide these stuff. And i didnt hear anything from them until I check with them the next morning. On the 3rd day of my stay, the water heater broke down and someone only came to check my room after several calls. The staff upon seeing the whole wet bathroom just asked me to continue keeping the cold tap running until hot water comes in. The hot water did not come and he left without even trying to help to dry the floor. He eventually came back to dry the floor after again several calls to the concerige. The hot water did not came in untill the next day evening. For an Asian staying in tropical country, I definately was not able to shower in ice cold water in 10 degree C cold weather! I was very impressed with the room, the location, the breakfast, the wifi but totally disappointed with the way they handle the guests. Perhaps its the communication.. Overall, if without the water heater incident, its still a very much a pleasant hotel to stay :)

The Demetra Art Hotel is very close to the metro station and therefore close to all destinations in St Petersburg (e.g. 8 minutes to Nevsky Prospekt). Close to it is also a very nice park and the best restaurant Blok in St. Petersburg. In the hotel they have excellent breakfasts. The staff is really friendly and helpful to get tickets to all kind of performances and taxi.

we stayed in a double room. the room was clean and warm. (warm is very important when you visit st. peterburg in winter!) the breakfast included offer a taste of russian food. there is a metro station within 5 minutes walking distance, and there are many tourist attraction along the nevskiy prospekt which is very close to the hotel too. there is a 24 hours convenient store right next to the hotel too!

Dear All, The hotel is divided into a new and an old part. I booked 'junior suite' and I almost fainted when I entered the room - at first I got the room in the old wing of the hotel. The smell was awful and it looked like I transferred in time - 30 years back. When I complained at the reception, the next day I got a new nice room - in European standard. This is the old USSR hotel, however they are trying to make renovation which is very good but of course takes time. I recommend it however always ask for a new wing room.

1st visit to St Petersburg and didn't know the geographical layout of the city. Took recommendation from Agoda primarily based on price and the photos. It is an apartment hotel, that is why there is no obvious signs of the "hotel" at the building's entrance. We and the taxi driver were quite lost initially. The entrance walkway into the building was also quite run down - 50/60s stone work with little maintenance. The hotel is on the 3rd floor and luckily there is an newer addition to the old building - an elevator! A hidden gem opened up once we entered the "apartment". Security is tight and there are CCTVs all over the place. The rooms are well maintained and the photos are authentic. The staff is very helpful and the location is AWESOME! Located on a parallel road to the main Nevsky Ave of St Petersburg, very close to the Metro stations (Line 2 and 4). Dining options are off the roof ... from local options (Soviet Cafe and Evrasia chain) to international fast food (KFC) and more

The hotel is definitely one of the best in terms of what it has to offer. Upon arrival we were provided the room in less than 5 min. The paperwork and registration were done by the hotel which was nice and helpful. The view from the room was beautiful. We could see the lifting of the bridges from the room. The breakfast spread was amazing. We even ordered food late night from the rooms and I must say it was delicious too. The bed was a little old, but I believe the view compensates it. The staff speaks English and were very helpful and courteous. I would have to give a 5* rating to this hotel. Definitely recommended.

It's just 1 min walk from the metro station. Once out from the metro, walk straight, cross the stone bridge, Gogol is on your left. Very conveniently located. It's around 20 min walk to the Hermitage (Palace Square) and 15 min walk to the Kazan Cathedral. However, to save some energy for sightseeing, it'll be a good option to take one stop of metro and get off near the Palace Square. The lady at the reception is exceptionally considerate and helpful. As I visit during the White Nights period, I can't really sleep even with the curtains on and have requested for a pillow at 3 am in the morning. The lady shows no sign of unwillingness, instead very helpful to bring me the pillow. Moreover, I arrive early at around 10:30 am and can already check in my room. Though I found that the room has not been cleaned but once we told the lady about this, she immediately arranged someone to clean it up. The room is big, clean and comfortable. Nice wifi connection, nice breakfast.

This boutique hotel was originally built as the home of a 19th century industrialist. It has been tastefully restored and decorated. The hotel is in a great position down a quiet side street, within easy walking distance of all the main sights, shops, restaurants and metro station. The staff all spoke good English and were very friendly and very helpful. Our room was large enough for the 2 of us, with lovely comfy beds and a very clean, nice bathroom. Wifi was stable and fast. Breakfast was very good and plentiful with a range of options and eggs cooked to order. It is served in a totally stunning room. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to everyone - especially those who love big corporate hotels - but if you like something a bit different it’s perfect.

This charming hotel is in a quiet street but very near many of the most important buildings any visitor to St Peterburg has to visit. The decor is modern and un-fussy and the free wi-fi throughout is welcome. The reception is staffed day and night by a group of friendly people who speak good English and seem only too happy to help, advise or just take an interest in their guests. The (standard) room I had was very comfortable, though it would be nice to be offered at least one bottle of water, given the SPb tap water is not drinkable. The 5th floor cafe offers a good range of food and drinks (as well as a great view of the Church on Spilled Blood) and the one meal I ate there was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would not hesitate to stay there again.
